i'm betting on history today...

honestly, i never thought the goals record in hockey was ever going to fall. Alex Ovechkin just need one goal to set the new record.

speaking of hockey, the New York Rangers lost at New Jersey yesterday, 4-0.

the USWNT defeated Brazil yesterday, 2-0.

the Yankees won yesterday at Pittsburgh, 10-4. they go for the sweep today.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

AEW Collision was ok last night.

i did watch both games in the men's final four yesterday.

here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Americas, Yellowjackets, the season finale of The White Lotus, The Righteous Gemstones, Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Last Week Tonight.

Manchester United plays at home today against Manchester City. i really hope United finds a way to win today.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow before i have to take mom to a doctor's appointment in the afternoon.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

here are your 3 videos for this day of national poetry month:

the New York Rangers lost last night at the Islanders, 4-2.

the Yankees won last night at home over the Marlins, 3-2. hopefully, they will sweep the series tonight.

today was a busy one...

so, i woke up this morning at a decent time but i had a truly strange fucking dream last night. now, i thought i would be dreaming about when the muse texted me last night and said how she can't wait to kick me in the nuts one day, but instead i was having a dream about various neighborhoods i grew up in and then weaving them together with friends from my childhood. it was like The Outsiders meets Goonies meets some random porn and a soundtrack from Ugly Kid Joe. i woke up at 9:05 and was like what the fuck.

so, i went to Rite Aid today to pick up a prescription. after that, i had to go to Compunet to get some blood drawn. i have a doctor's appointment on Friday. i did my good deed for the day and helped another lady pick up this older lady that had fallen. i got home, iced my back and then took mom to the police station to drop off some old drugs. after that, she wanted to go to Dollar Tree to find some shit. she did find a few things there.

the New Orleans Saints won last night, 20-17. should have been a bigger margin of victory but the Saints played prevent defense for the last 2 minutes and of course, gave up a touchdown late.

i did watch a little of the other game last night as the Steelers beat the Browns, 26-22.

Monday Night Raw was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Deadliest Catch, Name That Tune, Inside the NFL and Welcome to Wrexham.

the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Toronto. since the Blue Jays are still playing for something, it will be interesting to see if the Yankees feel like playing the spoiler.

i think mom is making some tuna for dinner tonight. i will probably have to help her.

i need to get the trash picked up and figure out the grocery list for tomorrow.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done and after Manchester United plays at Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

the beauty of always being in pain...

sometimes you get so fucking used to being in pain, that the aches and whatever just become normal. it is like background noise. i was doing the dishes last night and took a step and my knee gave out. oh well, i still had bowls and plates to clean. my back gave out today while grocery shopping. oh well, still got 3 things on the list. i know in the grand scheme of things, this all means i'll probably be dead in a few years. oh well, i feel like i am getting to the point where i have squeezed all the marrow out of this life. of course, knowing my luck, i still have a good 30 or 40 years to go before i get lucky enough to die. and if you think i'm saying lucky is wrong, you obviously have no fucking clue what i have gone through in 47 years of life.

the National League won the All Star game last night for the first time since 2012, 3-2. i didn't watch much of the game.

NXT was pretty good last night.

Dark Side of the Ring was excellent last night.

Deadliest Catch was very good last night.

i did watch Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge today on Peacock. it was pretty good.

so, when i got home today, the DIRECTV was fucked up. that took about 20 minutes of troubleshooting to get that working again. as i muttered to my mother, if it ain't one thing, it's another fucking thing.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite and Mayans M.C.

the USMNT takes on Panama tonight in the Gold Cup semifinals.

Manchester United won today in Norway against Leeds, 2-0. that's a decent start to the preseason.

i will probably catch some of the MLS games tonight as well.

managed to squeeze a poem out...

so, i thankfully got a poem written last night. i feel like i got a few others coming, but it's like getting water out of a stone. good times.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

here are your highlights from Game 4 of the Staley Cup final last night:

at the Copa America last night, Brazil defeated Peru, 1-0. tonight, Argentina takes on Colombia.

the USWNT defeated Mexico last night, 4-0. next up will be the Olympics.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Deadliest Catch and Mr. Inbetween.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals is tonight. Bucks at Suns. hopefully, it will be a good series.

at the Euro 2020 today, Italy takes on Spain.

pain tolerance...

it's a good fucking thing i have a high pain tolerance. my experience at the doctor's office would have been completely different if i didn't. i'm not sure what the point of being on time is when the appointment is going to be later than it was scheduled for. at least, now i have a cell phone to pass the time. i had to be stuck twice for my A1C. i had to have my blood pressure taken twice because of shitty equipment. and to top everything off, i had to have some blood drawn as well. my A1C is still good. my blood pressure was excellent today. now, i have no clue how the blood work is going to turn out. i'd like to believe i'm doing good, but there is a part of me that has wished to be dead since i was 8. so yeah...

NXT was really good last night.

AEW was really good last night as well.

Alabama Snake was pretty interesting last night. sadly, it reminded me of my father's side of the family way too much.

The Masked Singer was a holiday sing a long last night. the season finale is next week.

the season finale of I Can See Your Voice was good last night.

the USMNT defeated El Salvador last night, 6-0. i did get to watch some of the game. it was nice to see so many youngsters get their first cap.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Miz & Mrs, Total Bellas and Cari & Jemele Won't Stick to Sports. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i will probably watch some of the NFL game tonight between the Patriots and Rams.

i don't have a damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i figure i will need to hit the store to pick up meds for mom and myself. also, mom starts all her stuff for her upcoming colonoscopy (fun, fun, fun).

two out of three ain't bad

when i got into bed around 5 this morning, i was hoping i was going to sleep to noon. sadly, i only slept until a little after 10. i've been trying to be productive today, but my busy Sunday truly drained me a bit. but, i did feed the birds, clean the toilet and made some chili for tonight, that's not bad for being spent.

let's start at the beginning. Manchester United defeated Everton 2-1 yesterday. it was bit nervy at the end, but i'll gladly take the 3 points.

the New York Rangers pissed away a 2 goal lead yesterday and lost to the Kings 4-3. thank fucking god i didn't see the end of this game. considering the guy that scored the goal for the Kings was the same guy who scored the game winner when the Kings beat the Rangers in the Stanley Cup Final years ago. if i would have had to live through that again, i would have gone fucking nuts.

WWE Evolution was really good last night. i am so happy for the women that made this event a success. it was easily one of the better shows the WWE has done all year.

the New Orleans Saints took advantage of a sloppy Vikings team last night and won on the road, 30-20. this sets up a HUGE game next Sunday at home against the LA Rams.

The Deuce was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.

Camping was pretty funny last night.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

the series finale of America to Me was very good. i thought the series did a good job of showing the shit show that is the educational system in this country.

Ray Donovan was good last night.

Kidding was dark and brilliant once again last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Lip Sync Battle. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i will probably make some cornbread with the turkey chili tonight. anytime i make chili, it's a sure sign that the cold is coming soon.

i will be on here tomorrow after mom's eye appointment. she says she's seeing better now than even after her cataract surgeries. so, that's good news.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

long live The King

the New York Rangers came from behind last night and defeated Colorado 4-2. it was the 400th win of Henrik Lundqvist's amazing career. he is the fastest EVER to 400 wins in NHL history. i really, REALLY hope that he is part of a Stanley Cup team with the Rangers before his career is over. and i really wouldn't mind if it happened this season. congrats to The King.

ROH was excellent last night.

Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night. i can just imagine how furious Trump got when he saw a black woman pretending to be him. fucking classic. one of the best episodes in a long time.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Young Pope, Girls, Last Week Tonight and Homeland.

i will probably spend most of the night watching The Grammy Awards.

after that is over is when i have the tough decision. do i start to watch the Sunday night shows on the DVR or do i go over to WWE Network and watch the Elimination Chamber ppv that will most likely be over by then? i'll probably do both knowing my stubborn ass. my good friend Sam Roberts will be on the pre-show for Elimination Chamber, so i definitely know i will check that out.

all in all, just a fucking clusterfuck waiting to happen.

i went to the grocery store after a nap yesterday. i wanted to get there before the pharmacy closed as i had a ton of prescriptions to pick up. i didn't have one damn coughing fit until i was getting the last items on the list. thankfully, it didn't last forever. as i was taking the full grocery cart out to the car, this beautiful young woman smiled at me and said hi. i said hello. i then quickly reminded myself that she looked around 17. i don't want to go to jail with a cough.

another tip for what not to wear while really sick... white shorts.

i have no damn clue when i'll be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

i'm convinced that people who get up at 5 are actually insane

i've been up since 5 this morning. almost took a nap during the Manchester United game but decided cleaning the toilets was more important. i think i may still be in a fog. good times.

WWE Fastlane yesterday was so good at times and then just shit the bed the other times. the match between Chris Jericho and AJ Styles was really good. Kevin Owens once again showed why he might be my favorite wrestler going today. and the triple threat main event was really good, even though i really wanted Dean Ambrose to win. all in all, it should set up an interesting Monday Night Raw tonight.

the New York Rangers won last night 1-0 in OT. i might have watched 15 minutes of the game. i did enjoy the victory beer though.

Vinyl was really good last night. i think i enjoy the music more than the show though. Girls was pretty funny last night. the song that ended the show has been in my head all damn day. thankfully iTunes had it on sale today. Togetherness was great. Shameless was really, really good. Billions had a brilliant ending that should be great for the show. and Last Week Tonight was brilliant once again.

Manchester United today was playing a team they should destroy. they won 3-0, so i guess that counts as destroying these days. i'll gladly take it. they are now in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of The X-Files.

i did catch the ending to the Daytona 500 yesterday. that was an amazing finish. Denny Hamlin is one of my favorites, mostly due to his appearances on The Dan Patrick Show.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. my uncle is getting worse and i figure i will probably have to spend some time over there tomorrow. it's amazing that these fools that believe in hope get stunned when hope runs the fuck out.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i might have some good news to share on this coming Thursday. (how's that for a tease) the weather is slowly going back to normal after a weekend in the 60's. so much for my back feeling good.

close, but not quite there

so i had a crazy afternoon. between the doctor, Menards, the grocery store, being out way longer than i expected, not eating lunch and getting more miserable when it started to rain, today will be one of those fucking days.

so i guess i'm not quite a diabetic but i'm closer than my doctor is comfortable with. what sticks out more from the visit to the doctor was the smell of shit as soon as i walked in the door, a small kid coughing out his lungs and not covering his mouth, the new nurse with pants on a little too tight (unless she was one of these white girls that played soccer while growing up), and having to wait in the room for the squad to leave with the person from the room next to mine. good times. he's giving me a pill to take each morning that should help my numbers go down. if that does happen, he'll take me off of the pill. if not, as he told me i am predisposed to having diabetes because of genetics, he will leave me on the pill. he was pleased that i have given up white bread. i go back in 3 months.

the new nurse caught me off guard. i was prepared for the old one, especially since i got the haircut. plus, i was going to tell her about the poem i wrote about her, etc. etc. figures, i work up the courage and i'm all ready and (play some sad music) nothing happens. the new one was a little touchy though when giving me my flu shot. of course, she had a wedding ring on.

mom and i went up to Menard's to get a few things which of course turns into me getting ridiculous shit for the front yard as i work to improve this sophisticated white trash utopia of mine. we also needed some food for the birds.

after that, it was off to the grocery store. for some fucking reason, they won't have my medicine ready until 3 pm tomorrow. i suppose they don't know that i'm supposed to take this pill before i eat breakfast each morning. i figured that was a great start to this day in the grocery store. plus, we had to shop for next door as well. thankfully, they didn't have much as last time. i didn't notice many unwritten poems while in the store. we pulled back into the driveway nearly 4 1/2 hours after we left it. needless to say, i needed to eat something quickly. i got the groceries put away and made a quick sandwich. i figured that will hold me over until dinner.

the shows last night were good. Homeland was excellent. another great ending. The Affair was superb last night. that show is getting better each week. Last Week Tonight was great as well:

i lost my fantasy hockey yesterday 6-3-1. i'm at the point now where i'm just like fuck it. fantasy football didn't work out much better for me. it looks like i'm going to win one of my matches and lose the other 2. good times.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Gotham. i will be watching Monday Night Raw and Monday Night Football. i'll also check out WWE Breaking Ground on WWE Network tonight.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. all i really want to do is get a good night of sleep or just fucking die already. i know my luck. neither will happen anytime soon.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. if you didn't, i really don't give a shit. i'm too busy with own crumbling empire at the moment.

what a weird perverse night

i was trying to watch as much of the hockey game as i could last night, but there was so much other BRILLIANT shit on last night... and thankfully the DVR got all of it.

first off, a little poetry news... i heard back from Big Hammer on my recent poetry submission. Dave really dug what i sent but he's taking a break from publishing at the moment. he wants me to send him some work in 6 months. i will gladly do that. you can find issue #18 of Big Hammer here:
http://outlawlibrary.blogspot.com/2015/09/big-hammer-18-2015.html

NXT Takeover: Respect last night was very good. i think i would have made a few different decisions but i understand why HHH went the way he did with the tag team tournament. and the main event did not disappoint, although i think i enjoyed the Brooklyn match better. that being said, 2 of the 5 greatest women's wrestling matches i have ever seen are Sasha Banks vs. Bayley. enjoy some highlights:

Table for 3 with Dean Ambrose, Cesaro and Kevin Owens did not disappoint either. it had me laughing for the entire 30 minutes:

American Horror Story: Hotel was fucking crazy, bloody, freaky and fucking great last night. a little too much male ass for my taste but the dildo drilled into the ass was certainly a scene i will never be able to erase from my brain. if this is any indication how this season is going to be... it will be the best season of the series EVER.

You're The Worst was great last night. kind of repeated the same ending as last week but with another subtle twist. i can't wait to see where this goes.

the New York Rangers got off to a great start last night. they blitzed Chicago for 3 goals in the first period. i guess they were pissed because the ceremony for the Stanley Cup and raising the banner went longer than expected. those 3 goals held up as the Rangers won 3-2. Chicago nearly tied the game late but the refs and the replay assholes made the right call. i was certainly waiting for the FUCK THE RANGERS button to be pushed in Toronto. maybe this will be a different season. i will be in Columbus tomorrow night to see the Rangers take on the Blue Jackets. here's the highlights from last night:

time for some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

there really isn't anything that needs to go on the DVR tonight. i'll be flipping between the NFL game and some hockey games. i'm interested in seeing the top 2 rookies make their debuts tonight. since they are talking them up like it's the second coming of the great one, i figure i might as well take a look. i have no players going tonight in fantasy football so i'm not sure how much of the game i will watch.

i listened to the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this morning. if you would like to hear Dolph Ziggler stick one to John Cena, i highly recommend it.
you can find the podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, notsam.com and on the right hand side of this blog.

i will be on here early tomorrow as we will have to leave in the afternoon to get up to Columbus for the game. so expect a quickie tomorrow. i know some of you with your minds in the gutter don't mind that.

that's all for me kids. i hope everyone is doing better than normal.

catharsis

welcome to the 21st day of National Poetry Month. today, i'm shining a light on a great poet and friend, Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal. if you are not familiar with his work, please use these links to get to know it and BUY something. enjoy:

while on the topic of poetry, i finally put pen to paper today with all the shit regarding my father. i haven't typed the three poems up yet, as i really needed to walk away from them for a bit just so i don't let emotion get too involved. as you might imagine, this was a bit of a catharsis. as much as i needed it, it doesn't solve anything really. his death will be the only thing that will cleanse me i suppose.

a little warning, i've been listening to a ton of music here lately, so be prepared.

the New York Rangers once again last night proved why they are the best road team in the NHL. 40 very tight minutes where they built the lead. the last 20 minutes they did bend but did not break. a 2-1 win to go up 2 games to 1 in the series. highlights below:

the New York Yankees pissed away some great pitching last night from CC and lost in Detroit 2-1. hopefully they can do better tonight.

i caught up on all the shows i missed last night this morning/afternoon. Gotham was great. i really can't wait to see how the last two episodes of the season play out. Monday Night Raw was pretty good. it wasn't exactly how i thought they would go into a ppv, but their creative team seems lost anymore. The Voice had two performances that absolutely blew me away:
i'll be interested to see who makes the top 8 tonight.

on the DVR tonight will be Deadliest Catch and whatever late night shows i decide i should get sleep instead of staying up for.

here's this gem from last night:

that's all for me today. the wind is finally starting to settle down here. of course, it almost made it to 60 degrees today. oh well.
