a shower can't wash away everything

i was all fired up for the hockey game this afternoon. USA vs. Russia. winner goes to the gold medal game. i had "lucky" clothes on, was in a good frame of mind and the voice was at full force. these are the days where i'm sure my mother wishes she didn't work from home. the USA scored first and had another shot hit the post in the first period. sadly, that would be the last time they would come close to really having a chance to score. size and skill, which was basically 2/3 of the Russian team, will always beat skill. that's one of those unwritten laws of hockey. Russia scored twice in the second period and more or less, just choked off the game from there. Russia won 2-1. third fucking year in a row they have defeated us in the World Juniors. the USA will play Sweden tomorrow morning for the Bronze medal. i'll be interested to see if either team gives a shit, seeing that both teams lost to a rival the day before.

so after the game i took a long shower. i was hoping the hot water on my back and neck would feel good. sadly, it didn't. it's finally winter here and sure enough, my back is tighter than shit. i did find it funny that the news were making it sound like a blizzard was coming this morning during the morning commute. we didn't get anything here other than frost.

i went 8-8 on my NFL picks yesterday. that pretty much sums up my picks all damn year as i was 19 games worse than last season. in my eyes, that's a complete fucking failure even though i was 151-105 for the regular season.

i have two YouTube videos in my head that just need to be filmed now. one is pretty simple. the other i'm trying to pull off some shit that i have never tried before. i'm trying to make 2016 the year where i don't give a shit about failing. we'll see.

and now some of this and that:

i will be watching Monday Night Raw tonight and the season finale of Breaking Ground on WWE Network. i will also try to catch some college basketball tonight as well.

speaking of college basketball, i see that the Dayton Flyers are now number 25 in the AP Poll. it sucks as it always seems we end up losing as soon as we get ranked. hopefully that doesn't happen this Wednesday at home against UMass.

amazingly, the New Orleans Saints won yesterday 20-17. i was flipping between that and the heartbreak my mother had watching her Jets blow a chance at the playoffs. i know that made my sister happy, as she is a Steelers fan.

i will be on here tomorrow after the Bronze medal game. hopefully i will be in a good mood.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i think it's starting to sink in that it is 2016 now. 17 more days until i turn 40. or how a bumper sticker says it, until life begins.

close, but not quite there

so i had a crazy afternoon. between the doctor, Menards, the grocery store, being out way longer than i expected, not eating lunch and getting more miserable when it started to rain, today will be one of those fucking days.

so i guess i'm not quite a diabetic but i'm closer than my doctor is comfortable with. what sticks out more from the visit to the doctor was the smell of shit as soon as i walked in the door, a small kid coughing out his lungs and not covering his mouth, the new nurse with pants on a little too tight (unless she was one of these white girls that played soccer while growing up), and having to wait in the room for the squad to leave with the person from the room next to mine. good times. he's giving me a pill to take each morning that should help my numbers go down. if that does happen, he'll take me off of the pill. if not, as he told me i am predisposed to having diabetes because of genetics, he will leave me on the pill. he was pleased that i have given up white bread. i go back in 3 months.

the new nurse caught me off guard. i was prepared for the old one, especially since i got the haircut. plus, i was going to tell her about the poem i wrote about her, etc. etc. figures, i work up the courage and i'm all ready and (play some sad music) nothing happens. the new one was a little touchy though when giving me my flu shot. of course, she had a wedding ring on.

mom and i went up to Menard's to get a few things which of course turns into me getting ridiculous shit for the front yard as i work to improve this sophisticated white trash utopia of mine. we also needed some food for the birds.

after that, it was off to the grocery store. for some fucking reason, they won't have my medicine ready until 3 pm tomorrow. i suppose they don't know that i'm supposed to take this pill before i eat breakfast each morning. i figured that was a great start to this day in the grocery store. plus, we had to shop for next door as well. thankfully, they didn't have much as last time. i didn't notice many unwritten poems while in the store. we pulled back into the driveway nearly 4 1/2 hours after we left it. needless to say, i needed to eat something quickly. i got the groceries put away and made a quick sandwich. i figured that will hold me over until dinner.

the shows last night were good. Homeland was excellent. another great ending. The Affair was superb last night. that show is getting better each week. Last Week Tonight was great as well:

i lost my fantasy hockey yesterday 6-3-1. i'm at the point now where i'm just like fuck it. fantasy football didn't work out much better for me. it looks like i'm going to win one of my matches and lose the other 2. good times.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Gotham. i will be watching Monday Night Raw and Monday Night Football. i'll also check out WWE Breaking Ground on WWE Network tonight.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. all i really want to do is get a good night of sleep or just fucking die already. i know my luck. neither will happen anytime soon.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. if you didn't, i really don't give a shit. i'm too busy with own crumbling empire at the moment.

nothing lasts forever

today has been a weird one for me. my uncle had his first of many trips to various doctors this week today. my mother went with him. the weird part is so did my uncle's daughter, who just happens to be the cousin that molested me. now, part of me will always hate the fact that my mother and father did absolutely nothing after i told them i was molested. hell, there's a part of me that will forever think that my father thought i deserved it. and since that fucker is dead, i guess that thought never changes. the tricky part for me is do i choose to be my usual asshole self and make my uncle's cancer scare/diagnosis/whatever the fuck it is about me or do i yet again, swallow my pride and just play along like nothing ever happened. 35 fucking years of this shit bubbling inside me and i'm expected to just let it all slide off my back and go on living. i suppose what hurts the most is no one, friends, family, any soul on this earth, truly gives a shit that my childhood was robbed from me and the sexual dysfunction i was blessed with in hindsight has ruined my adult life. i guess i'm supposed to just accept that shit happens and i'm to just grow old and deal with it. i recently wrote a poem that ended if losers are the glue of the world, i should think about changing my name to Elmer. one of my many sad, funny lines that cuts so fucking deep both ways.

sorry if i blindsided anyone with that right out of the box on a Monday. part of my beauty is i have no filter and what you see is what you get. not that that has actually worked for me in my life, but what the fuck am i to do?

the New Orleans Saints won one of the craziest fucking football games i have ever seen yesterday. Eli Manning (my NFL.com fantasy QB) threw 6 touchdowns yesterday but Drew Brees tied the NFL record by throwing 7 touchdowns as the Saints won 52-49. thank god i didn't have either defense in my fantasy lineups yesterday.

my NFL.com fantasy football team was the only one to do anything yesterday. both of my CBS teams got crushed. so much for those winning streaks. i did pretty good with my picks though. if Carolina wins tonight, i'll go 11-3 again for the second week in a row.

Homeland was excellent last night. always good to see Carrie going even crazier. The Affair was great last night. i suppose if i ever did have an adult relationship, it would be fucked up like the ones on the show. Last Week Tonight hit another home run, once again showing why i hate politics in this country:

on the DVR tonight will be Gotham and The Voice. i will be watching Monday Night Raw and Breaking Ground on the WWE Network.

i did watch the last few innings of the World Series last night. i wish the Yankees played more like the Royals. put the ball in play, take the extra base, force the defense to make a play. but, if you're going to have a team full of old guys, that will never happen.

my fantasy hockey team shit the bed last night so i am now in last place in the division. thank god it's still early.

i will be on here early tomorrow as Manchester United plays in the Champions League. i figure i better do the blog before the game as i might regret something i type after the game, especially the way they have been playing here lately.

i hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. i guess my sister got to see Robben Island today. it's funny, she's complained about so much of South Africa being so depressing. i just looked at mom and said maybe if she actually learned shit for more than just the test, this wouldn't be such a surprise. once the asshole, always the asshole.

hope this finds everyone with a cold drink in your hand and not a cold member of the opposite sex.

somedays, there just has to be blood

my mother told me this morning that she had heard that they were sending my uncle home today from the hospital. she was pretty surprised as they still don't know what the fuck he really has. i told her i'd be willing to bet that they have reached the limit his insurance will pay for and they are sending him home instead of not getting paid to have him there. and it's now after 4 and he's still not home. mom went to the hospital about 30 minutes or so ago. i'm sure she'll come home bitching about something the dumb fucks at the hospital did. good times.

if you weren't a fan of either Manchester club yesterday, the Manchester derby was fucking boring as hell. as an avid supporter of Manchester United, it was fucking painful to watch. a 0-0 draw when a victory would have put United at the top of the league was brutal to watch. there was probably only a couple instances that i thought United might actually score. the most action was watching Wayne Rooney get staples in his head to stop some bleeding. they next play Middlesbrough in a couple of days in League Cup play.

the New York Rangers started off slow last night but once they got rolling, they were a snowball racing downhill. the first goal was a beauty:
and after that, the goals kept coming for a 4-1 win. that's a good way to get the shitty taste from Philly out of your mouth. they are off until Friday. here are the game highlights:

the New Orleans Saints built a 27-0 lead yesterday. i then watched them try to piss that lead away. thankfully, they did just enough to win, 27-21. at least that gets them out of last place in the division.

i am leading in all 3 of my fantasy football matchups. all of my opponents have players going tonight, as do i. my picks were finally really good. if Arizona wins tonight, i'll go 11-3 for this week. that's more like it.

wrestling last night was probably as good as i could have hoped for. i was stunned at the beginning of the show:
i was thrilled with how easy Alberto beat John Cena. now, i'm really hoping the rumors are true and Cena is taking a few months off. both Hell in a Cell matches were excellent. i enjoyed Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt and thought it really did a good job of showing the potential that Roman really has:
the match between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker felt like it was from an era sadly gone forever. blood everywhere, low blows, the ring ripped apart, tables and chairs, it was a fucking great way to end a long feud:
and it wouldn't be the WWE without the best thing going today, The New Day:

after Hell in a Cell they showed the first episode to Breaking Ground. i am definitely going to be a fan of this show. i love all the behind the scenes shit i can see.

Homeland was great last night. it had another holy shit ending that just added another level of mindfuck to this season. The Affair was excellent as always. i really appreciate the subtle differences in the storytelling. and next week certainly looks like it's going to be really good.

ok kids, enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

clusterfuck Monday brings us the crowded as hell DVR. on that tonight will be The Voice, The Big Bang Theory and Gotham. i will be flipping between Monday Night Raw and Monday Night Football.

i typed up the 4 poems i have written in the last few days. let me just say that fat fingers and a small keyboard don't go together really well. it was also my first interaction with a new version of Microsoft Word. not exactly the easiest thing to navigate without a mouse. it's also really weird to not have a printer right next to me. not sure how long this computer in the kitchen is going to last. as for the poems, 2 were pretty sad and 2 had some funny ass lines. not sure where i'm going to send them, but i do want to send out some poems this week.

that's all for me today. i have dishes to put away and i need to vacuum. i hope everyone had a great weekend. if not, figure out who to blame and take it out on them.
