well, i kind of thought i would be taking mom to physical therapy this afternoon. unfortunately, her vertigo is crazy today. so, my afternoon is now sort of free. of course, my bad back will probably keep me from doing much. fun times.
the Yankees lost last night at Tampa, 5-4. they start a series tonight at Baltimore. they are 2 games behind Baltimore in the AL East standings. my fear is they will be 5 by the All Star break. joy.
Don't Forget the Lyrics was very good last night.
NJPW was good last night as well.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage, Real Time with Bill Maher and the season finale of Fantasmas. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.
my back tells me it is going to rain soon. joy.

sometimes you get so fucking used to being in pain, that the aches and whatever just become normal. it is like background noise. i was doing the dishes last night and took a step and my knee gave out. oh well, i still had bowls and plates to clean. my back gave out today while grocery shopping. oh well, still got 3 things on the list. i know in the grand scheme of things, this all means i'll probably be dead in a few years. oh well, i feel like i am getting to the point where i have squeezed all the marrow out of this life. of course, knowing my luck, i still have a good 30 or 40 years to go before i get lucky enough to die. and if you think i'm saying lucky is wrong, you obviously have no fucking clue what i have gone through in 47 years of life.
the National League won the All Star game last night for the first time since 2012, 3-2. i didn't watch much of the game.
NXT was pretty good last night.
Dark Side of the Ring was excellent last night.
Deadliest Catch was very good last night.
i did watch Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge today on Peacock. it was pretty good.
so, when i got home today, the DIRECTV was fucked up. that took about 20 minutes of troubleshooting to get that working again. as i muttered to my mother, if it ain't one thing, it's another fucking thing.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite and Mayans M.C.
the USMNT takes on Panama tonight in the Gold Cup semifinals.
Manchester United won today in Norway against Leeds, 2-0. that's a decent start to the preseason.
i will probably catch some of the MLS games tonight as well.
i will probably be on here tomorrow in the morning, before mom has physical therapy in the afternoon.
i need to get going on dinner, so that is all for me kids...

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
yesterday was one of the more draining days i can remember here lately. between the Italy and England game to the Yankees pissing away another lead, to the USMNT struggling to say the least and then all the Sunday night shows... i really could have used some better sleep...
the Italy and England game to finish off the Euro 2020 tournament was a classic. Luke Shaw scored for England just 2 minutes into the game. England never could get that second one though. Italy tied it up in the second half. England's manager was way too fucking cautious with his subs. the match went to penalty kicks. England missed their last 3 kicks. and of course, since the last 3 taking shots for England were black, you can imagine all the racist shit that came out after that. Italy won 1-1 (3-2).
the Yankees were up 7-2 going into the bottom of the 9th yesterday at Houston. they pissed away that lead and gave up a walk off homer to Altuve (of course) and the Astros won, 8-7. if that isn't proof that they need to fire the manager and make a few trades to shake everything up, i don't know what will do it. fuck, they might have to fire the general manager as well since he thinks the team just needs to play better and will go down with the ship if he has to. fuck me.
the USMNT defeated Haiti last night, 1-0, to start off group play at the Gold Cup. they will need to be way more clinical if they actually want to succeed in this tournament.
i just found out that "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff has died. one of my favorite heels when i was kid. rest in peace.
here are your highlights from Game 3 of the NBA Finals last night:
Big Brother was good last night. clearly, this has been a disaster of an HOH for Frenchie.
The Chi was excellent last night.
Black Monday was hilarious last night.
Flatbush Misdemeanors was really good last night.
Desus & Mero was great last night.
The White Lotus was great last night. i think i am really going to enjoy this series.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
if i get truly fucking bored tonight, i might watch some of the Home Run Derby.
i did listen to episode 351 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
i got a little sleep last night, mostly because i stayed up late and watched the MLS game between Columbus and Cincinnati. Columbus won 4-0.
ROH was pretty good last night.
i watched some of the UFC last night.
i also went through more of my baseball cards last night. i think i have one person so far that might be interested in buying some cards. hopefully.
i did watch some of the TBT yesterday. i will definitely be watching today as the finals will be determined with the 2 games today. i am really hoping Red Scare can continue their good play and make it to the finals.
i cooked breakfast this morning. for some reason, i can cook eggs really well and seemingly struggle with everything else. although, the chicken i made last night was pretty good.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Hightown, Black Monday, The Chi, Desus & Mero, Perry Mason and I'll Be Gone in the Dark.
i was hoping to watch the MLS game this morning, but it got postponed. COVID-19 wins again. i did watch some of Arsenal and Tottenham this morning.
i saw the news yesterday that Aroldis Chapman of the Yankees has the virus. hopefully, he hasn't given it to anyone else on the team.
i will hopefully be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays. if not, here is a preview of their game:
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

if i had to guess, i think the pinched nerve is either in my right shoulder or right elbow. most likely, somewhere between the two. while i'm typing, or pushing a grocery cart, my right arm has a tendency to start radiating pain. good times.
yet another night of shitty sleep. i was really hoping the CBD oil was going to help me get some more sleep. i went to bed at 3 AM and first saw the clock at 5 AM. joy. i eventually got out of bed a little after 8 AM.
the grocery store wasn't very crowded today, thank god. i was able to get all the shopping done and be home before 3 PM. of course, going to 3 different stores and getting gas and pills, i believe i kept everything under $175.
Holey Moley was hilarious last night.
Big Brother went as i expected last night. Nick is the new HOH. i was hoping someone from the other side of the house was going to win. i do love that Michie at least voted differently, hopefully that stirs some shit up.
Baskets was excellent last night.
Desus & Mero was great last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Los Espookys and Shangri-La.
the New York Yankees start a series tonight at home against Toronto. hopefully they start the march to the playoffs with a victory.
i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow. i know i want to get the blog done before the clusterfuck of sports begins. AEW, Evolve and NJPW all have shows on tomorrow. Manchester United is starting their pre-season with a match in Australia. and with the Yankees game beginning at 1 in the afternoon tomorrow, morning is probably my only option of when to write the blog.
i hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. we're supposed to get some rain this weekend and then the remnants of Barry will be making a visit to Ohio shortly after that.
so, until tomorrow kids. go enjoy your Friday night.

when i got up this morning around 6 to piss, i just felt so fucking tired that for a change, i decided to go back to bed. amazingly, when i woke up again it was almost 10 in the morning. so much for getting anything done in the morning. hell, i was drinking coffee when i'm usually eating lunch.
apparently my bitching worked. i got the copies of my new chapbook in the mail yesterday. just 15 days after they were mailed. so, if you would be interested in an autographed copy of the taste of blood on christmas morning, email me (jcampb4593@aol.com) and i'm sure we can work something out. if you are interested in getting the book from the publisher, go here: http://www.analogsubmission.com/product/the-taste-of-blood-on-christmas-morning-by-j-j-campbell
World Cup Update:
Croatia shocked England with a goal in the second segment of extra time to win 2-1 yesterday. that sets up a World Cup final of France vs. Croatia on Sunday. i picked Croatia as the dark horse in this event 3 weeks ago in this blog. i figure i'll probably stick with that now that they are in the final. the third place game will be Belgium vs. England on Saturday.
the New York Yankees got some good pitching from Sonny Gray (finally) last night and hit 3 home runs to split the series with Baltimore, 9-0. the Yankees start a series tonight in Cleveland.
NXT was great last night. the main event was holy shit good.
Lucha Underground was excellent last night.
Big Brother was good last night. i love the plan to backdoor Swaggy. i won't be upset if he gets evicted tonight at all.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and Lip Sync Battle.
the weather was pretty nice today, not much humidity at all. that made the drive to get the x-rays and paperwork mom needs for her bullshit appointment tomorrow somewhat pleasant.
i will be on here in the morning tomorrow as mom's appointment is in the afternoon. i have to do the grocery shopping after that.
i finally got to talk my lover in Italy today. just a day after our first month together, we had a nice argument. ah, love. i think she understands my financial situation a bit better now. if she stays with me knowing that, i will be even more impressed.
that's all for me kids.

i made sure to wear light colored clothes today as i knew i was going to be outside a little and it was supposed to be around 90 with a completely unbearable humidity. so i broke out my bright ass yellow t-shirt, figuring that should do the trick. walking just 10 feet from the parking lot to the pizza place mom and i went for lunch, i was sweating like a crook walking into church.
i did do a little poetry writing last night and this afternoon. in total, i typed up 7 poems this afternoon. i really like a few of them. i have enough for another round of submissions, so you have been warned.
i did watch a little of the All-Star game last night. ex-Yankee Robinson Cano hit the go ahead home run in the 10th inning (50 years to the day that Tony Perez hit a home run in extra innings of the All-Star game in 1967) and ex-Yankee Andrew Miller got the save as the American League won 2-1.
Deadliest Catch was crazy last night. there's no way you would catch me doing anything in a fucking arctic hurricane.
Smackdown was pretty good last night.
205 Live was pretty good as well.
The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.
The Defiant Ones, Part 3 was mostly about the rap war in the early 90's. i also enjoyed the behind the scenes stories on how Interscope Records signed Nine Inch Nails away from TVT Records.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, Lucha Underground, Snowfall, Lip Sync Battle and The Defiant Ones, Part 4. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
i'm really hoping that the boys have their heads on straight tonight and are ready to dominate when the USA plays Martinique tonight in the Gold Cup.
mom did pretty good today. amazingly, the place where she had her doctor's appointment and had to get some blood work done was running smoothly today. i just wish she could actually get some sleep at night. she more or less sleeps only in the day now.
i will be on here tomorrow before i take mom to her physical therapy appointment. hopefully the storms tomorrow aren't as bad as yesterday's storms were. there are still some people in this county without power.

today was one of those days... i wouldn't say it's depression, it's certainly not joy... just that weird feeling i sometimes get when the pain isn't overbearing but i can feel it. it almost reminds me of when i was on drugs... the void. the certain need to find that spot to dwell, waste away. and i'm not saying this is a bad thing. i often find my best moments of creativity when i'm at my lowest. probably explains why i write so many poems on the toilet. today i put on the right music and it just happened to take me away. i was still able to get some shit done, so maybe i'm just a functioning dreamer.
i didn't watch one second of the Home Run Derby last night. i won't watch one second of the All Star game tonight. it actually feels good to be away from baseball for a few days.
Monday Night Raw had a few good moments (Seth Rollins was great last night) but was mostly just a bunch of blah. next week, the final Raw before the brand split, has the potential to be really good. but, potential and the WWE is usually a recipe for disaster.
on the DVR tonight will be Deadliest Catch and Maya & Marty.
i did a little poetry work this afternoon. i should have a monster day of submissions coming up, most likely on Thursday.
the one thing that i did really like about being away from here was the amount of different shit i could write about. that's certainly the one drawback to living in a small town. especially when you don't really like going to any of the local bars and sitting around and shooting the shit with people. i do know when my imagination runs dry, i either have to move or convince myself i'm a better painter than a poet. and i doubt there are enough drugs in the world for that to happen.
i have trash to pick up and i really need to take a shower. it's a hot and sticky one here today. i was outside for maybe 20 minutes and had sweat running down into the crack of my ass. enjoy that visual.
