i hate losing more than i love winning...

i am a very competitive person. and now that sports gambling is legal, i can put my money where my mouth is. now, i don't have fuck you money to gamble with, but i also stay true to the golden rule... only gamble what you are willing to lose. i did get the national title game last night between Florida and Houston right. i won two different groups on ESPN.com with that bracket. i went 47-16 in the tournament. that is my best record in years. apparently, putting money on it makes me a little more intense on getting shit right. that might be the only thing i worry about with my sports gambling. i am a perfectionist at heart.

the Yankees lost yesterday at Detroit, 6-2. i did watch some of the game, especially when they were playing in the snow. they play again this afternoon.

the New York Rangers lost last night at home to Tampa Bay, 5-1.

The Voice was very good last night.

Monday Night Raw was very good last night.

mom's doctor appointment yesterday went well. she chose to get physical therapy on her knees. that will start on Thursday. she thought she had an appointment today. we listened to the call again and it was for her to reschedule the appointment she had today. that will now be on next Monday.

here are your two videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

i should be on here tomorrow before i go grocery shopping.

i'll flip this afternoon between baseball and the champions league, hoping for a nap.

good news and a wasted afternoon...

so, i went to the bank to make a deposit before my doctor's appointment. i got to the doctor's office a little early and amazingly, they got me into my appointment early. my A1C went from 8.4 to 6.0, everyone is thrilled about that. i explained that there will be a little gap in the Rybelsus since Anthem wanted me to pay over $2,600 for it. i did get my Medicaid card today. of course, the mail didn't come before my appointment. so, i'll have to make another trip out tomorrow while grocery shopping. so, i got back home and wanted to cancel my Anthem insurance. the last 2 hours have been spent trying to do that. from what i gather, the fuck up is the plan used to be on the Marketplace but no longer is so the Marketplace can't cancel something they don't have yet Anthem is telling me that is the only way the policy can be cancelled. as i told my mother, this is why death is so popular anymore. i told mom to try to cancel the payment she made last night and maybe then they'll understand to cancel the fucking policy.

i didn't get to watch any of the Manchester United game today. they lost at Nottingham Forest, 1-0.

Monday Night Raw was very good yesterday.

The Voice was excellent last night.

the New York Rangers signed Gabe Perreault last night. that made me very happy.

oh yeah, since it is April and April is National Poetry Month, i guess i need to do a little bit on that.

enjoy...

i will probably do two videos a day on poets i like. and in this case, i figured i would start with myself as i have had the kind of day that i know my 8 year old self is laughing about and shaking his head, knowing that death was always the right answer.

imagine if i could get more than 4 hours of sleep...

i woke up this morning and took my Rybelsus before i had to go shit. thankfully, i made it this time. i fed the birds this morning. it is going to be a dry week, so i figured i better get some suet out there for them. i almost got 4 hours of sleep last night. i can't sleep in my bed with how my left arm is feeling. i can't find a comfortable spot for it. good times.

the Yankees won yesterday at the Cubs, 2-0. hopefully, they will get the sweep this afternoon.

the USMNT lost to Canada yesterday, 2-1.

Ohio State whipped Western Michigan last night, 56-0.

i did watch plenty of college football yesterday.

the joy of back pain...

remember how i was going to have the blog done before my sister got down here, etc. etc... well, the joy of a bad back is when that happens, your day just turns to shit.

now, i did manage to get the poems out this morning. i sent out 11 poems; 3 each to Terror House Magazine and The Beatnik Cowboy; 5 poems to Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication). when i hear back from the other places, i will pass along the verdicts.

so, the Yankees got swept last night, losing yet again to the Toronto, 6-4. the Yankees now are clinging to a playoff spot by 1/2 game. they are on fucking life support. they start a series tonight at the Mets, and given what tomorrow is, it should an emotional roller coaster.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Big Brother went as i expected it to last night. Claire got evicted and then Alyssa went in the second eviction. so, The Cookout is the final 6, all of whom are black. i don't mind that at all, but i can't remember Big Brother ever having 6 minorities on the show ever to begin with, so what they did was never possible before. now, it will be fun to watch them have to destroy each other.

Holey Moley was great last night.

When Nature Calls was hilarious last night.

What We Do in the Shadows was crazy last night.

Dark Side of the Ring was the sneak peek of the new episodes starting next week.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.

so, not only is tomorrow the 20th anniversary of 9/11 it is also a crazy fucking sports day for me. Manchester United will play in the morning and that will mark the glorious (hopefully) return to the club of CR7. after that game, the Ohio State vs. Oregon game will be on. so, i am really going to try to get the blog done before all of that starts tomorrow. if not, it will come after it is all done.

my sister brought me some hockey cards she found. she paid $5 for them. i paid her the $5 and there was about $20 worth of cards in the packs. that made me pretty happy.

so, mom wanted me to go out with her to check on the tomatoes this afternoon. of course, i look away to pick some of the cherry tomatoes and she falls down somehow into the grass. this shit frustrates the living shit out of me. i try to explain to her, she can't do more than one thing at a time. and i mean it that exact way. if you are going to think, then do that first. then walk. you can't do both at the same time. i'm just happy she didn't fall on the concrete porch as i'm sure she would have broken something. my sister came out when she heard me say god dammit as loud as i could. good times.

i am going to make some burgers for dinner tonight. i have no clue if my sister will be eating dinner with us or her friends.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

one of those Sunday mornings...

i got a little sleep last night, mostly because i stayed up late and watched the MLS game between Columbus and Cincinnati. Columbus won 4-0.

ROH was pretty good last night.

i watched some of the UFC last night.

i also went through more of my baseball cards last night. i think i have one person so far that might be interested in buying some cards. hopefully.

i did watch some of the TBT yesterday. i will definitely be watching today as the finals will be determined with the 2 games today. i am really hoping Red Scare can continue their good play and make it to the finals.

i cooked breakfast this morning. for some reason, i can cook eggs really well and seemingly struggle with everything else. although, the chicken i made last night was pretty good.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Hightown, Black Monday, The Chi, Desus & Mero, Perry Mason and I'll Be Gone in the Dark.

i was hoping to watch the MLS game this morning, but it got postponed. COVID-19 wins again. i did watch some of Arsenal and Tottenham this morning.

i saw the news yesterday that Aroldis Chapman of the Yankees has the virus. hopefully, he hasn't given it to anyone else on the team.

i will hopefully be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays. if not, here is a preview of their game:

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

just enough rain to have misery make the world go 'round...

it basically started raining last night around 4 in the morning, when i was trying to fall asleep. i woke up around 9 on my stomach, full of pain. joy.

Manchester United played at Everton yesterday. the game ended in a 1-1 draw. that's the story of this season. anytime United has had the chance to make up some room in the race for the top 4, they have declined to do so.

the New York Rangers lost again to Philadelphia yesterday, this time 5-3. they are in a brutal stretch of games at the moment, especially given the fucking injuries. but, if they actually want to make the playoffs, they need to get something out of these games to do so.

here are your XFL highlights from yesterday:

and here are some MLS highlights from yesterday:

The Outsider was fucking great last night. the season finale is next week.

Avenue 5 was pretty good last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was magical last night. if you watched the show, you know exactly what i mean.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

Axios was very good last night.

My Cartoon President was hilarious last night.

Homeland was really fucking good last night.

both episodes of Kidding were great last night. the season finale is next week.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, The New Pope, McMillion$ and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did listen to episode 280 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
https://soundcloud.com/notsamwrestling/the-fiend-learns-to-point

last night was the first night in weeks that i didn't sleep in my massage chair. i think i was simply too fucking exhausted to walk from my bedroom to the living room.

i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the bank.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

the hours just bleed together anymore...

i finally got mom out of the house today. i know why she didn't want to go south of town to see her financial planner. it basically took all her energy to go to Lowe's this afternoon and finally buy a new oven. of course, that was a fucking clusterfuck. they had the one mom wanted in stock, so she bought it. of course, the woman that sold it to her never set up the delivery date and that mom wanted the old one taken away. so, after mom paid and asked a few questions, we had to go to customer service. there's 25 minutes of my life i will never get back. but, at least the delivery is set up for June 21st. that will be over a month from when the oven went out. thank god the shit in the freezer is still good.

after that debacle, mom wanted to go to Waffle House. the one in Brookville was open again. all the talk in there was about the tornado. as mom and i drove around this afternoon, it's fucking amazing to see how much got hit by the tornado. as mom said on the way home, it's amazing how lucky we were.

i did a little poetry work last night. i know where my next 30 poems are going. i'm hoping to get those out in the next few days.

Monday Night Raw was... well, let's just say i was happy i had a hockey game i could flip over and watch. and Bray Wyatt is still the best thing on the show.

here are your highlights from Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final:

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Deadliest Catch and Songland. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Yankees open their series tonight in Toronto. hopefully, they can get back to winning.

i did see that the U-20 USA men's team upset France today in the U-20 World Cup. that was a bit of a shocker.

mom's birthday gift came today. i think she will like it. i had to get something else with it to get free shipping. so, i will be doing some light reading from Batman: The Man Who Laughs.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i know i need to get the trash picked up here and next door, so that's all for me kids.

Pronto, la suerte se secará.

i could do without the snow today...

it's always nice when you have about a thousand things to do before you have to be somewhere and you open the blinds to see a snowstorm. just fucking lovely.

i did type up those 8 poems i wrote yesterday. there are a few winners in there, that's for sure. i will probably have another round of submissions next week.

i did watch a little of the New York Yankees last night. they lost to the Twins 2-1. oh well.

the New York Rangers own Carolina at Madison Square Garden. they won last night 6-3, which marks the 15th straight time they have defeated Carolina at MSG. that's the longest streak against one opponent in Rangers history. all in all, it was a win i didn't want the Rangers to get, but i did enjoy the alcohol.

The Voice was pretty good last night.

Monday Night Raw was very good last night. i love the whole Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar program right now. throwing Vince into the mix was great. having Braun Strowman win the tag team battle royal by himself was an interesting twist. The Ultimate Deletion next week should be great. and i actually wouldn't mind if the Undertaker comes out as the other version of his gimmick he used in the past and destroyed John Cena. i really do like the direction Raw is going in for WrestleMania.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Baskets, Hate Thy Neighbor and The Voice. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i will be at the First Four tonight to see two college basketball games. first up will be LIU Brooklyn vs. Radford. the second game will be Saint Bonaventure vs. UCLA. i'm really interested to see how mom does considering we probably won't be getting out of the arena until sometime around midnight. the games will be broadcast on TruTV in case you are interested.

Manchester United plays Sevilla today at home in the Champions League. this the second leg of their matchup. the winner advances to the quarterfinals. i'm really hoping United scores early and often and wins this match convincingly.

that's all for me today kids. i have to go eat lunch, shower, shave, and do the trash before i get ready to go to the basketball game. and all i really want to do is go take a fucking nap.

one of those days where being a human sucks...

it's really fucking sad when i wake up to the news of a mass shooting in this country and i'm not shocked at all. i did get 3 poems out of it. i typed those up right after i wrote them so i wouldn't be thinking about it all day long. and then, right as i was getting ready to start this blog, i got the news that Tom Petty had died. that brought a rush of emotions, not that he was one of my favorites. but, i did have my first lap dance to a Tom Petty song. that's one of those memories that will never be forgotten.

the asshole in me laughed about a mass shooting at a country music concert. the majority of "them" don't believe in gun control of any kind. the majority of "them" voted for Trump. so, for the asshole in me, there's always a silver lining. now, for the bleeding heart in me, these senseless acts of violence have to stop at some point in my lifetime. but, sadly, if the politicians weren't going to do any sensible gun control after the kids got slaughtered at Sandy Hook, it's never going to happen. so, at the heart of it all, we are our own enemies. and like any animal, we will be extinct at some point. and given the advances with robots, that time is coming way sooner than i ever thought.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 2-1 to Toronto. the Yankees finished the season with a record of 91-71. not bad for a team going through a rebuilding year. they play the Twins tomorrow night in the wild card game. if they win, they will go on to play Cleveland.

The Deuce was excellent last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking hilarious last night.

Vice Principals was very funny last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as always.

Ray Donovan was great last night but tough for me to watch. it brought back so many memories of when my stepfather was fighting cancer.

Episodes was pretty good last night. i believe next week is the series finale.

like a knife stuck deep in the soul

i woke up at 6 this morning with a cramp in my left leg. the cramp felt like a fucking knife was deep inside me. 30 seconds prior to that, i was sound asleep. i imagine there are easier ways for my body to tell me i have to go piss.

i was crushed yesterday when i heard Charles Bradley had died. cancer takes another one. fuck. rest in peace and thank for the countless hours your music took me to a much better place.

the New York Yankees got some good pitching yesterday and a couple of home runs to win over Toronto 5-1. they have now clinched a place in the playoffs. they still need to do a little work to make sure they have home field in the wild card game. they can make a dent in that by winning the series today.

Manchester United won yesterday 1-0. they next play in Moscow on Wednesday in the Champions League.

Ohio State beat UNLV yesterday 54-21. honestly, it never felt that close.

the New York Rangers lost to New Jersey last night 2-1.

i watched some wrestling last night being streamed out of Mexico trying to raise money for the earthquake victims. it was much better than i was expecting.

ROH was excellent last night.

i did watch a little of the Global Citizen Festival yesterday. i was reminded why i thought of Andra Day as the next Beyonce the first time i saw her.

i suppose i just look a certain way

so mom had me go out to make her some copies of some paperwork she has to turn in for the insurance companies, etc. today. so i went to the closest Office Depot to where we live. now, this was my second trip to that area today as i went to the bank earlier. i would have loved to get it all done at one time, but oh well. i get to the back of the store and notice a few people standing around. i figured they were waiting for shit to get done. there was a black woman in front of me that needed to fax something. after she got waited on, the large black guy working behind the counter asked me how he could help me? i told him i needed 1 copy of each sheet of paper, no staples. he quickly got that done and told me to come over to the register to pay. i paid the money and was very happy to be done in less than 5 minutes. as i was walking away, one of the black guys that was standing around raised his voice to the large black worker and asked ARE YOU GONNA PASS ME OVER AGAIN? that made me chuckle. and people wonder why i refuse to change my look.

today was one of those days where it felt so good out that most people just wanted to be outside, not doing anything. i could tell this when i was at the bank and there were more customers than people working.

the New York Yankees won again last night, 7-4. that's 8 wins in a row, 7 straight at home. that ties the 1998 team's start at home. they are now entering holy shit numbers. they will go for number 9 in a row tonight against the White Sox.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. the ring collapsing in the main event was certainly a sight to behold.

The Voice was really good last night. the 6 performances i liked the best were the ones that moved on from Blake's and Alicia's teams. tonight will be Adam's and Gwen's teams performing.

i did listen to the latest Jim Norton & Sam Roberts podcast today. you can find that by going here:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Smackdown and Deadliest Catch. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers have a MUST WIN game tonight at home against Montreal. they can't afford to go down 3-1 in the series. all i really hope is that they play the entire game with a sense of urgency.

i saw last night that John Crosby is transferring from Dayton. i was a little shocked by the news as he was going to be the starting point guard next season. now, if the recruit they just let out of his commitment doesn't decide to go to Dayton after all, the Flyers will be without a point guard on their roster. that will take some creative shit from coach Grant to fix that in a hurry.

i'll be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her doctor's appointment. hopefully, we will find out when her hip replacement will be rescheduled for.

that's all for me kids.

it's a good thing i don't own a gun

so i mentioned yesterday in this blog that i needed to make some money this week. sure enough, in a case of shitting all over my plans, i tried to start my truck today and nothing happened. my frustration level at this point is so fucking high, it's probably a very good thing i don't own a gun.

heard from my artist friend in Sweden, Janne Karlsson, about 2 other places that have decided to pass on our collaboration. some lucky publisher is going to say yes and be thrilled with what they get. and if that doesn't happen, we're going to put it out ourselves and just say fuck the world.

in that spirit, i sent 3 poems out today to The Poetry Jar. got an email from a friend saying they were looking for some poetry submissions. i urge all my poetry friends to check them out.

the Yankees lost again last night, 4-2. Jeter did pass Yaz for 7th on the hit list. but, that's 3 losses in a row. and at the absolute wrong time. they play again tonight. hopefully they get their shit together against the WORST team in baseball.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. the show opened and closed with 2 really hot matches. that's a good way to make the 3 hours go by quickly.

tonight is going to be a busy one for me. Manchester United plays Inter Milan. the Yankees are playing at roughly the same time. and during both of those games Deadliest Catch and Tyrant will be on. i could use the Elvis wall of televisions tonight.

i actually opened up the house today as it barely made it to 70 degrees. at least i understand now why we have some portions of the corn that are over 7 feet high.

not sure if i'm going to get the truck fixed or not. i can't see dumping more money into a vehicle that is 22 years old. but, ultimately it will be up to my mother.

i need to call my friend in California today to see how she is doing. hopefully much better than when we talked on the weekend.

i watched some documentary on Tom Petty last night that was much more entertaining than i thought it was going to be. hence, one of my musical selections today.

that's all for today. hope everyone is doing well. i'll be on here sometime tomorrow between loads of laundry.

peace and chicken grease my enemies...
