summer isn't made for fat people

nothing like breaking out in a sweat when taking a few steps outside to go check the mailbox. and here i thought the storms that rolled through last night was going to cool things down a bit. so much for that.

the storms did knock out the satellite for a little bit. i didn't mind as the Yankees were getting pounded at the moment. but, i was trying to record NJPW on the DVR. that screwed that up. thankfully, i got to see the main event. that was great as usual.

the Yankees lost last night 11-3. the only bright spot was getting to see Mason Williams finally play in the big leagues. they play again tonight at Baltimore. thankfully, i believe the game will be blacked out for me.

VICE was excellent last night. if you have any interest in what is going on in the Middle East, it's a MUST watch episode:

i did manage to write 5 pretty damn good poems last night. i typed those up this morning. that should give me enough poems to send out a quick submission or two this coming week.

mom surprised me this morning and paid me the money i made in the auction. that should be an interesting look at the bank when i bring in a couple grand in cash to deposit.

here's some funny shit from last night:

i got a $15 code for iTunes yesterday. so, i tried to catch up on some songs i've been wanting to buy but i was busy being cheap. you'll see all that down in the music section.

i think most of my day today is going to involve soccer. from the Women's World Cup to the Copa America to the European qualifiers, i should have enough to keep me busy or put me to sleep.

the USA women played Sweden to a 0-0 draw last night. i'm not sure what's up with the USA forwards. i hope they realize they do need to score at some point if they want to win it all.

tonight will be a mix of some hockey, Austin City Limits, ROH and god knows what else. on the DVR will be Power, a very underrated show on Starz.

enjoy a quick music break:

my new chair is a radical change for me. everything is motorized. that should help me when my arthritis is killing me. plus, the massage on it worked pretty good yesterday. i figure once i get used to it, i should be able to nap in it pretty easily.

the trip to the grocery store yesterday was pretty interesting. about 5 minutes after we arrived, the bone spurs in my right foot went nuts. that was fun walking with a limp the entire time. the only thing that got me through was the lovely women. it might be the only reason why i tolerate the fucking heat. seeing women wearing next to nothing or something short and tight certainly helps me get through the day. as you might imagine, yes, one of the poems last night was about that.

that's pretty much all for me today. i do hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. hopefully you'll have a chance to lounge in the shade with a cold beverage that someone else bought.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

one of my last visits to the farm

got up this morning and felt like hell. it was raining on and off all night. my right ankle felt like it was broken in about 50 places. but, the past few weeks have really sharpened my pain tolerance. i'm not exactly sure how i'm walking, but i am. after mom and i went to McDonald's for breakfast (probably not the best choice) we went to the farm. i spent almost 18 years out there, trying to build a habitat good for animals, plants, insects, humans, etc. while driving up the lane, the fuckers that bought the farm in the auction (but technically don't own it yet) have taken it upon themselves to make the farm look the way they want it to. all the fencing is gone. all the cats are gone. the trees that were my cousin's father's trees from California are gone. there's these huge piles of wood and trash all over the place. i told mom it's a damn good thing i took the gasoline a few weeks ago or there would already be a few bonfires going on the farm. i put air in the tires of my truck. i'm hoping it goes for something north of $50 in the upcoming auction. we had to break down a few shelving units that we want to use in the garage of the new house. after a few hours, it was more or less time to go. if i don't have to be at the upcoming auction (mom will be out of town), today is probably the last day i will be at the farm. it was sad to see all those damn trees knocked down. the pastures were mowed, which is the first time they were touched in a decade. i kept them high so animals could hunt in them or hide in them while being hunted. i have no clue what the new owners are going to do with the place. i'm pretty sure i won't like it regardless. most of this afternoon i've been thinking of what happened to the cats. my gut tells me they are dead. and not like they were out and about and got caught my another animal dead. like they were caught and killed and dumped somewhere. if i had any guilt in my body, this would be where it would be killing me. but i don't. part of the asshole gene i suppose. just a few more weeks and all of this will be over.

i did watch most of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame inductions last night. it was cool to see Joan Jett play. hard to believe Green Day has been around that long. plus, i loved the induction of Stevie Ray Vaughn. between him and Lou Reed, the tears of nostalgia were flowing last night.

the Stanley Cup Final is set. Chicago vs. Tampa Bay. sadly, my dream final has always been Chicago vs. New York Rangers. what could have been.

ROH last night was so damn good i watched it again this afternoon. the buildup between Jay Lethal and Jay Briscoe has been excellent. i can't wait to see that match.

the weather has cooled down a bit today. of course, it took a day or two of rain to have that happen.

time for a music break:

the New York Yankees got some great relief pitching last night and a few clutch hits to win 5-3. they go for the split this afternoon.

after the game, i'll probably go right to watching the WWE Network. i am really looking forward to the Elimination Chamber matches tonight. hopefully, Kevin Owens will destroy John Cena. plus, the two chamber matches for the titles tonight should be amazing. hopefully i'll have plenty of videos to share tomorrow.

so on the DVR tonight will be Nurse Jackie, Happyish, Penny Dreadful, Silicon Valley, Veep and Last Week Tonight. i figure i'll watch a few after the wrestling and then catch up with the rest either Monday morning or afternoon.

while going through some shit last night, mom came across a thank you note sent to both of us back in 1981. it came from one of the hostages that was in the Iran hostage crisis back in 1979/1980. as you might imagine, i wasn't the normal 4 or 5 year old. being able to read at 2, i was fully aware of current events by the age of 4. hell, by 8 i was reading at a college level. not sure where i'm going to keep this letter, but it will find a place somewhere in this house.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone is having a great weekend. hopefully the sun is out where you are.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a few good souls left in the world

maybe 20 minutes after i woke up this morning, there was a call from the mechanic. he said there was a short in the battery in my truck. they put a new one in and it was running fine. total bill came to $130. considering the other place i normally go would have been well over $200 because of labor, i believe i have found a new mechanic. now, just have to put all the radio stations back in. i got a 5 year warranty on the battery, since i know my luck, i may have this damn truck another 5 years. those 5 years were included in the $130. i know that would have been more at the other place. so a big thank you to Noble's Automotive Services.

mom decided she wanted to go to lunch today at the Longhorn Steakhouse. the prices were a little high but the food was excellent. definitely a place i will go to again.

the season finale of Deadliest Catch was really good last night. probably one of the best reality shows ever. the episode of Tyrant last night was really good. there were a couple of moments that certainly caught me off guard. can't wait for next week.

the Yankees lost a winnable game last night, 4-3 in 12 innings. they face yet another great pitcher tonight. hopefully they win tonight as i would love to have a chance to win this series.

got some new free music today on NoiseTrade from American Aquarium. i'll post the link down below in the music section. i highly recommend you check it out.

besides the Yankees tonight, i'll be watching Big Brother, Wilfred, and The Bridge.

found a couple places i have never sent to before while doing some searching on the internet today. so, tomorrow i'll go through the unpublished poems and see how many i can come up with. might need another writing session, but i don't believe i will.

after i get done with this, i need to get on vice.com and see the new episode of The Jim Norton Show. hopefully it is up.

talked to my friend in California today. she's still dealing with some concussion issues. hopefully all the drama in her life can settle down so she can start getting better.

that's all for today kids. hope this finds everyone well.

it's a good thing i don't own a gun

so i mentioned yesterday in this blog that i needed to make some money this week. sure enough, in a case of shitting all over my plans, i tried to start my truck today and nothing happened. my frustration level at this point is so fucking high, it's probably a very good thing i don't own a gun.

heard from my artist friend in Sweden, Janne Karlsson, about 2 other places that have decided to pass on our collaboration. some lucky publisher is going to say yes and be thrilled with what they get. and if that doesn't happen, we're going to put it out ourselves and just say fuck the world.

in that spirit, i sent 3 poems out today to The Poetry Jar. got an email from a friend saying they were looking for some poetry submissions. i urge all my poetry friends to check them out.

the Yankees lost again last night, 4-2. Jeter did pass Yaz for 7th on the hit list. but, that's 3 losses in a row. and at the absolute wrong time. they play again tonight. hopefully they get their shit together against the WORST team in baseball.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. the show opened and closed with 2 really hot matches. that's a good way to make the 3 hours go by quickly.

tonight is going to be a busy one for me. Manchester United plays Inter Milan. the Yankees are playing at roughly the same time. and during both of those games Deadliest Catch and Tyrant will be on. i could use the Elvis wall of televisions tonight.

i actually opened up the house today as it barely made it to 70 degrees. at least i understand now why we have some portions of the corn that are over 7 feet high.

not sure if i'm going to get the truck fixed or not. i can't see dumping more money into a vehicle that is 22 years old. but, ultimately it will be up to my mother.

i need to call my friend in California today to see how she is doing. hopefully much better than when we talked on the weekend.

i watched some documentary on Tom Petty last night that was much more entertaining than i thought it was going to be. hence, one of my musical selections today.

that's all for today. hope everyone is doing well. i'll be on here sometime tomorrow between loads of laundry.

i have certainly had better days

ok, where to begin? i suppose last night would be the best place to start. mom gets a message on her telephone that there is a tornado warning for our county. i flip over to the local news station and it was quite funny to see the fucker that does the weather scrambling, trying to plug his microphone in, and announcing the warning nearly out of breath. so he brings up the radar and i see that it is basically a mile away from us. the satellite signal goes out. we turn all the computers off and just ride it out. mom is sitting at the table and i'm pacing like an asshole ready to die. i find out this morning that a little baby tornado hit about 2 miles from here. all we had was some small limbs down in the yard. god is such a tease.

i was able to sleep in my bed last night for the first time in forever it seemed. i got a little over 4 hours. i did feel a little pain here and there but not the horrific pain i was feeling a month ago. so, when i woke up this morning, i was in a really good mood. that should have been my first sign.

soon after waking up, i got the shits. mom had to leave to go to Cincy for meetings, so i had the house to myself. so, my hot morning alone was about trips to the bathroom, watching some hockey on tv, doing my laundry, and trying to buy some Bruce Springsteen tickets. i got my laundry done, Sweden won like i wanted, more on the other game in a bit, i eventually took some Imodium, and by the time i got through the Springsteen tickets were sold out. more signs of what was coming.

team USA lost to Canada 1-0. just one damn mistake and that was all it took. so, Finland plays the USA in the who gives a shit game tomorrow morning. that will go right into the Manchester United game in the afternoon. so my Saturday will either be great or just a big pile of shit early on. after the United game, Dayton plays over in Pittsburgh against Duquesne. no tv on that one, so i might be taking out some frustrations screaming at a radio.

Canada plays Sweden for the gold on Sunday. i will be openly rooting for Sweden because i just can't stand the fucking arrogance of Canada when it comes to hockey. that is what makes today so fucking brutal.

i was actually happy that Wayne Rooney signed a long extension with Manchester United today. that should put all the rumors to bed for a few years at least.

i actually drove my truck for the first time since god knows when today. went in town to mail a book and get the mail. was a little tricky driving as my left arm starts to tingle whenever i fully extend it. so, i'll have to change how i drive for the time being. also, i was driving in 50 mph winds. so, that was tons of fun. it was a job just to keep the damn truck on the road. i probably would have done a better job if i was drunk.

i did watch some basketball last night. i was watching the Miami vs. OKC game when LeBron broke his nose on a dunk. i believe last night was his message to the league that Kevin Durant hasn't done shit yet, so hold up the MVP voting. and i did catch overtime of the late game. that was entertaining.

as for tonight, i have no fucking clue what i'm going to be watching. maybe some wrestling, maybe some basketball, maybe the tree house show, maybe reruns of shit i saw years ago, maybe some music, or maybe tonight is the night i just turn on the history channel or military channel and zone out to shit i already know. i do know i have been cussing at these assholes on Jeopardy this week for not knowing shit. it's obvious i didn't really miss anything by not going to college, other than drugs and pussy. i learned more on my own than these fucks at these prestigious universities. plus, any fucker that wears a bow tie should either be supporting a cause or be forced to admit they are a fucking asshole.

can you see i'm in a mood?

i'll be on here tomorrow after my games are over. hopefully sipping on 3 victory beers or the next blog post will be even more bitter than this pile of shit i wrote today.

hope everyone has a great weekend.  peace and chicken grease.

when you don't sleep it all becomes a nightmare

i might have got 3 hours of sleep last night. so i spent all morning taking little cat naps trying to catch up. during one of those naps, the phone rings. it's the mechanic and my truck is finally ready. so, that set forth a manic plan to get the paper, mail, hit the bank for a post birthday deposit, get my truck, get gas, and hopefully get back in time to watch Manchester United this afternoon.

when we hit the mechanic's place up, i knew i was going to miss most of the first half of United. but, i really didn't mind. the truck is like brand fucking new. new tires, a major tune up, oil change, fixed the shitty steering and holy shit, thing rides like a dream. well, a dream built in 1992. but, it should last me for a few more years.

got back home in time to see that United had scored. then like the assholes they are, they tried to sit on the lead for the next 90 minutes. all they had to do was score another one in regulation and the game would have been over. but no. so, on to extra time where United's goalie makes a horrific mistake with only 1 minute left. thankfully, Chicharito scores in the final seconds to send the game to penalty kicks. for some fucking reason Moyes sends up 3 defensive players out of the 5 to take kicks. as any child could figure out by now, United loses and is eliminated from the Capital One Cup. this season is beyond a fucking nightmare now. they could buy the entire Spanish national team this transfer window and it wouldn't help. LOST FUCKING CAUSE.

on top of that misery, the New York Rangers decided to shit all over my birthday last night by blowing a 2 goal lead to the fucking Islanders, losing 5-3. fuck me. thankfully, they traded the massive fucking headache Michael Del Zotto to Nashville today for the steady and signed for the next 4 years Kevin Klein. i like the trade, mostly because it gets rid of wasting talent. they play the Blues tomorrow night. another tough one.

i will not be going to the Dayton Flyers game tonight against VCU. 1) it starts in 15 minutes. 2) the weather is supposed to take a shitty turn tonight and we take nothing but back roads there. no thank you. especially not when all the towns around here have already said they are low on salt and are only going to treat the main roads. joy.

but, today was not all gloom and doom. i got off my lazy ass and got my new camera figured out. it's a Nikon CoolPix S3500. here are 3 of the 11 pictures i took today.

i will load the rest of them in the slideshow on the right hand side of this blog sometime soon (they are in the slideshow now). you can always see the rest of them on my Google+ page.

after the Dayton game tonight, i'll be watching Duck Dynasty and one of my favorite shows, American Horror Story.

lastly, i want to thank the New York Yankees for my birthday gift, although it was a day late. the 7 year, $155 million dollar contract to Masahiro Tanaka. thank you. now go win some fucking games.

hope everyone is well. my mother got me some stronger sleeping medicine, so my fingers are crossed that tomorrow i won't be whining about the bags under my eyes. peace and chicken grease.

i have a dream

where i actually sleep for more than 2 hours at a time. where i live in a climate that doesn't get below 30 degrees. where i have a lovely woman by my side that actually loves the fact that i'm a poet and a dreamer. where my sports teams win more than not and my liver can easily handle any alcohol ever made.

i have a dream.

when i was a child, i enjoyed this day for the day off of school and my grandmother's birthday. since she died in 1993 and i haven't been in school since 1994, this day is more about MLK and it's the day before my birthday.

hopefully i'll be getting my truck back tomorrow. and hopefully it will be above zero degrees when i get it.

the deep freeze is coming back from the way it looks on all the weather forecasts. thankfully, the propane tank got filled today. and we got plenty of cat food over the weekend. so, knock on wood, we are prepared for it.

i got half of the Super Bowl correct. picked Denver but missed the Seattle game. hopefully the big game will be played in a blizzard.

i really enjoyed the Sunday night shows last night. True Detective and Shameless won the night for me. the other 3, Girls, House of Lies, and Episodes were their normal train wrecks. but i'm the asshole blocking traffic and watching.

the other good thing about this holiday is the afternoon professional sports. been watching some hockey and basketball while hoping to fall asleep this afternoon. i think i got 20 minutes or so watching some soccer in England.

i am looking forward to Monday Night Raw tonight. i was hoping in my birthday gifts over the weekend there was going to be tickets to it, but oh well. it's about 30 minutes away from me. i can understand my mother and sister not wanting to enable my love of pro wrestling. should be a great show tonight.

the New York Rangers continued their hot streak with a 4-1 beat down of Washington last night. they are now in second place in the division. and on my birthday, they play the fucking Islanders. needless to say, i will be in full throat for that one.

also, that Rangers victory helped give me my second straight 10-0 week in fantasy hockey. i believe i have a 22 1/2 game lead in my division. this is starting to look like my best season ever. and given the amount of injuries i've had, i'm a little surprised to say the least.

other than Raw tonight, i will be going through some poems trying to find 11 that i will be sending out tomorrow. i think i have a good number in mind, just not sure if it's 11 or not. if not, i guess i'll be doing some writing at 2 in the morning. lord knows i won't be asleep anyway.

hope everyone had a great weekend. hope it is warmer wherever you are. and why haven't you invited me to visit? be well. peace and chicken grease.

accepting the pleasure i find in pain

so my last night played out almost according to script. like a dumb ass, i fell asleep and woke up in my chair and decided to try to sleep in my bed. i couldn't get comfortable at all. and it's mostly about finding a spot where my left arm isn't throbbing the entire fucking time. so, there i was in the shower at 3 in the morning. the water couldn't get hot enough. i took some sleeping pills, which got me almost 3 hours of sleep this morning. there was no Dan Patrick Show today and it was snowing pretty bad out, so i got another hour of sleep. that makes almost 5 hours, which is double from the last 2 days. so, i'm damn near completely refreshed, other than the whole pain part.

it was interesting trying to shovel the snow this afternoon. i was trying to avoid using my left arm as much as possible. let's just say that didn't work for long. so, hello adrenaline. at least the walks were clear when my mother got back this afternoon. we had to get the lane plowed as my sister is coming this evening. last thing i want is to have to dig her out. i don't have enough adrenaline for that.

finally heard back from the mechanic. the tires i had on the truck are obsolete now. figures. so, we're going with a newer version that is supposedly better. as they long as they aren't flat in a week, it will be an upgrade over the previous ones. not sure when the truck will be done, but it is sounding like it will basically be a new truck. thank god.

the New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings put on a show last night. end to end action and 2 goaltenders absolutely standing on their heads. it was a pleasure to watch, mostly because the Rangers won 1-0. first time shutting out Detroit since 1976. highlights below:

i'm pretty happy that the New York Yankees have signed all their arbitration eligible players and got that potential mess out of the fucking way. now, hopefully they can get some pitching signed for this season. SOON!

it is supposed to get down to the single digits here tonight. so, the heaters will be blasting and the pipes will be exposed to some heat. and just my luck, my birthday morning will be below zero. good times.

not sure what i'm going to be watching this evening. if my sister has a say in it, i imagine it will be Dateline or 48 Hours or something like that. if i get my way, it will probably be some hockey.

i will most likely be on here tomorrow either before or right after Dayton plays at Richmond tomorrow. early afternoon most likely. the next round of snow is supposed to come tomorrow evening. so, i get the feeling tomorrow morning is going to be trips to the store and returning my mother's rental car. can't wait to see how i'm going to lift huge bags of cat food with one arm. hopefully my back is up to it tomorrow.

that's all for me today. hope everyone has a great weekend. stay warm or if you happen to be one of my few friends that live where it's always warm, i've got 2 words in mind as i get ready to go put some more ice melter out... fuck off. but i say that with nothing but love.

be well.

and here comes a little snow as well

well, taking more sleeping pills didn't work out for me. i'm at the point now where i might as well just drink the pain away. the bags under my eyes are pretty incredible at the moment. thankfully, i am able to get little cat naps in every now and then. if i couldn't do that, i'd be incredibly unbearable at the moment. i'd like to report that the pain is getting better, but it's not. i'm getting better at blocking it out from my mind.

i'm truly amazed at how quickly people forget how to drive around here. took my mother forever to get to her conference this morning because some places got almost a 1/2 inch of snow. i suppose people are too busy on their phones while driving. we're supposed to get a couple inches of snow in the next few days. i put down a preemptive round of ice melter down since i am in no shape to shovel at the moment. hopefully that will work. or, hopefully i can get out early tomorrow and get everything done before the snow hits.

the New York Rangers lost last night 2-1. really a case of running into a hotter goalie and not getting much help from blind officials. they play again tomorrow against Detroit.

tonight is going to be a tricky one for me on television. the Dayton Flyers play at Fordham tonight at 9. that is on television, though i may listen to it on the radio. Duck Dynasty is back tonight as well as another episode of American Horror Story. hopefully, all of that is good enough that i won't remember that i can barely move my left arm without some kind of pain.

and since my bed has become mostly useless over the last few nights, i might just end up sleeping in my chair tonight. usually i can find the right spot and with the help of the heating pad, get a few hours at least.

and if the whiskey starts flowing tonight, maybe i whip out some watercolors and get a little of this insanity down on some paper.

waiting for the mechanic to call me back with prices on new tires. i guess my truck also needed a tune up on top of an oil change. and the tires were about 60% used up. so, it is definitely time to get some new ones. happy birthday to me i guess.

other than all that, just the usual day in the life of a poet. caught up on some pornography, listened to some music a little louder than normal, and basically filled my Google+ page with tons of nonsense.

i do highly recommend the latest podcast from the Sam Roberts Show Online, #86, Naked Girls. you can find it on iTunes, Stitcher, notsam.com, or on the right hand side of this blog. well worth your time.

that is all. back to your regularly scheduled lives of debauchery.

adrenaline and pain, quite the mixture

so, as i was driving my truck to the mechanic today (new tires, oil change, etc) my left arm started to throb beyond belief. of course, i had no pain pills on me, so i did the next best thing. turned the radio up loud and stomped on the fucking gas. needless to say, i left my mother in the dust. i was a little surprised that my truck could still get up to 60 mph and not start to fall apart.

had a nice oh shit moment last night. the local fire department was doing a controlled burn/practice scenario on the road behind us. of course, they never bothered to inform the public of this. so, you can imagine my thoughts when i look out the window and see a huge fucking fire less than a mile away from the farm. with the damn wind blowing. they appreciated the phone call but said they had everything under control.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night. can't go wrong with CM Punk getting fucked over as this will only make him more bitter (which actually makes him better) and seeing Daniel Bryan on top of a steel cage to end the show was classic. i guess he could only stomach the Wyatt Family for a couple of weeks. i'm the same way with my family.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Tampa. i'm hoping the game is good enough to keep my mind off of the pain.

i'll be upping my sleeping pills tonight in hopes that i get more than 4 hours of sleep. and i will make sure to take them long after a hopeful victory beer this evening.

spent a little time on Noise Trade today getting some new music. you'll see that down below. i'll provide some links.

that's pretty much all for now. my mother leaves in the morning for a few days at a conference in Cincinnati. i'll have her vehicle if i need to get around. i imagine that will all depend on how well i'm managing the pain. i'd really love for all of this to go away by the weekend. that's when we're celebrating my birthday. of course, knowing my luck, i'll finally go to a doctor and be in a hospital by the weekend. good times.

hope this finds everyone well. peace.

starting the week off right

i woke up this morning and my mother was feeling much, much better. was sounding better, moving around better and felt good enough that i didn't need to play chauffeur today. she had another doctor's appointment this morning. at least she found out her shoulder isn't torn like she feared.

i had a huge smile when i checked my fantasy football scores this morning. huge leads in both matches thanks to the game last night.

i of course didn't watch much of the game as i was busy with the Sunday night shows. Boardwalk Empire was excellent once again. Eastbound and Down was good. Homeland was brilliant. and i thought Masters of Sex was really good. time well spent.

one busy night of television awaits me this evening. the New York Rangers play against Anaheim. Cally is back in the lineup tonight. sooner than expected i do believe. The Voice starts up the live shows tonight. Monday Night Raw should be interesting. and a juicy Monday Night Football game that has some fantasy implications between Green Bay and Chicago. all of these things are on at the same time more or less. i'm guessing hockey and wrestling are going to win out for me. the rest i can catch on YouTube.

i believe my truck is on its final legs. i had to put air in one of the rear tires for the third time this month. it's running really bad and my mother doesn't want me taking it off the farm. so, looks like i more or less am a homebody for the time being. i'm hoping to find something new or something a little newer than the 21 years old my truck is, with not so many numbers to the left of the comma. and hopefully find it before winter.

i'm typing this as i listen to my mother on hold with an insurance company. needless to say, she's not a happy camper.

i am now in first place in fantasy hockey after a 9-1 week for me. hopefully i can keep that momentum going.

the rest of today has been spent putting more shit on my amazon.com wish list. in case any of you are interested or extremely generous, you can find it under my email address, jcampb4593@aol.com.

that's all for me today. i will be on tomorrow after Manchester United plays tomorrow in Spain. i will hopefully be having a victory beer while typing that one up.

be well. have a drink on me. and brace yourself for a mountain of words coming soon.

watercolors part 3

after another Yankees win yesterday, their season high 6th in a row, and after cleaning up my truck a bit (those Armor All wipes really work), all this rain and clouds and life just got to me. so, i put on some music and went to some really dark places. i'm always a little concerned/amazed when i do this and creativity comes to mind. i'm not sure i want to see what happens when it doesn't. anywho, i broke out the watercolors and here are the results.

another great episode of ROH last night. i really enjoyed it.

i've got the Wimbledon finals on right now. i'll have that on in the background for most of the morning most likely. i've got some floors to sweep, toilets to clean, and trash to pickup. on top of that, animals to feed, a shower to take, a Sunday paper to read, and some poems to email out. i have decided on the 16 poems i'll be sending to a few different places. i'll do that late tonight to relive my old tradition of sending out poems on late Sunday night/Monday morning. that's how i used to spend most of my 20's it seems like.

i do plan on watching the Yankees later today. hopefully they can get their second straight sweep. also, a little Big Brother this evening and Ray Donovan on Showtime.

and now for a shameless plug... be sure to pick up your copy of Sofisticated White Trash today. follow the links on the upper right hand side of this blog and do take advantage of the discounts. (it's on sale at amazon.com last time i checked)

hope everyone is having a great weekend. maybe tomorrow i'll write about the sun miraculously reappearing. or maybe not.

one miserable Tuesday

took my truck in this morning to get fixed and got a phone call from the mechanic around noon. apparently my power steering was leaking bad, both of my front brakes are fucked and both wheels are fucked as well. he was a bit shocked that i was able to drive it there at all. i really can't wait to see how much all of this is going to cost. and there's a really good chance i'll be without a vehicle until next week. joy.

throw in a pointless argument with the muse this morning and weather that is hot and miserable; and you can surely imagine my mood.

which is really sad as i was overjoyed beyond belief last night at how the Stanley Cup was decided. to watch Boston blow a 2-1 lead in the last minute or so of a game at home that they needed to win to force game 7 was as shocking as it was purely fucking beautiful. congrats to Chicago on being the best team all season long.

now i can start turning my attention to the NBA and NHL drafts and baseball. the Yankees play against Texas tonight. not sure if i really want to watch or not.

i will be watching Deadliest Catch this evening.

Monday Night Raw was really good again last night. after seeing who is going to be in the Money in the Bank ladder match, i'm damn near tempted to order it. and congrats to Daniel Bryan on another incredible night of performing. i truly hope they give him another title run SOON.

and a little alert to anyone who wastes their time reading this blog, my 1 weird, guilty pleasure tv obsession starts back up soon, Big Brother. sadly, i've been hooked on this show for years. if i actually had any ambition, i would try out for it.

so most of today has been spent playing sad music while watching porn and trying to stay cool. we're under a severe thunderstorm watch at the moment. i doubt we get anything. the crops and mom's new flowers could use some rain though.

hope everyone is good.
