the last good day...

it actually turned out to be pretty warm today. of course, if the weather reports are true (laugh now), today will be the last nice day for the foreseeable future. we are supposed to get some nasty storms come through tonight and tomorrow morning. farmers are scrambling like crazy around this area today trying to get the crops off. the guy who farms out here always plays it cool. i think our crops will be on for the next couple of weeks or so.

i sent out 13 poems today, 3 to Raw Dog Press and 10 to Midnight Lane Boutique. all 13 of these poems were 8 lines or less. that was a bit of a challenge. i feel pretty good about some of the poems. some are ones that have been sitting around for awhile and i figured fuck it, why not. when i hear back from these places, i'll pass along the verdicts.

mom and i went to Perkins for dinner last night. the same Perkins i went to all the time as a teenager. the same Perkins i fingered a former love of my life in the parking lot. the same Perkins where the girl i lost my virginity to used to work at. to say i get a flood of memories when i walk in the place would be an understatement. one thing that has changed was the fucking prices. holy shit, my youth truly is gone. shit i used to get for under $4 is now around $9. damn. after dinner we went to the grocery store. definitely not nearly as crowded as when we go in the daytime. and since it was less crowded, guess who got to bag the groceries. i was impressed that i did it as quickly as i did.

we got back home in time for The Bridge season finale. it went a little different than i was expecting. certainly not as violent as i thought it would be. the only one that died was a guy i didn't think was going to die. not saying it was bad, just different. it did plant a few seeds for season 3, which will hopefully be coming soon.

i might watch some of the NFL game tonight as i have the kicker for the Vikings. of course, one of my fantasy opponents has Green Bay's QB and #2 WR. needless to say, i will be trailing in the game going into Sunday.

other than that, i will probably be watching some college football and who knows what else.

my mom got her new hearing aid today. i'll be interested to see how that works out for her. her last one lasted 2 days before she couldn't stand it anymore.

if you get a chance to download the new mixtape from Childish Gambino, do it. it's damn good.

i was a little shocked when i saw the news this morning that Evel Dick of Big Brother fame has HIV. i truly understand why he left the show the last time he was on it now. hopefully him coming forward will help wake people up once again that HIV is still out there.

well, that's all for me today. i've got toilets to clean and dishes to do. and then, maybe my lazy ass will get outside and take some photos. if that happens, they'll be posted for the blog tomorrow.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

elimination and nostalgia

i was driving home from the bar yesterday when the Yankees were finally eliminated from having any chance to make the playoffs this season. sadly, i was not surprised but i was happy in some sick sense. perhaps now the team will make some changes; philosophy, players, management, SOMETHING... i can only imagine what would happen if The Boss was still running the show. now, the last 4 games of this season will be about Derek Jeter, not that the previous 158 weren't all about him. if they actually get the game in tonight, it will be somewhat surreal to know that this is the final home game of his career. a big thank you to the Captain for a great 20 years. there will be plenty of moments to remember for the rest of my life.

i had a good time yesterday at the sports bar catching up with Paul, my best friend from high school. it definitely brought back the memories. he's coming over to the farm this weekend for the Ohio State game.

the Yankees lost 9-5 yesterday by the way. Jeter went 0-4. i have to think he's not going to do that again tonight. of course, it would be the 2014 Yankees if he did.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. the look of shock on the faces when they found out Derrick is a cop was priceless. i enjoyed it even more when Frankie didn't win America's Favorite Player. the look on that asshole's face will have me laughing for months. i wonder how long until Cody realizes he made a $450,000 mistake by not blindsiding Derrick in the end. i saw that the show got renewed for another 2 seasons. guess i'll be enjoying this guilty pleasure when i'm 40.

The Bridge was great last night. i absolutely can't wait for the season finale next week for two reasons. one, it looks like it is going to be an edge of your seat season finale. and two, it means American Horror Story is one week away.

i'll be making a trip to the grocery store this afternoon to hopefully pick up my pills and get some supplies for this weekend (beer, chips, etc.). plus, i do believe we need some shit for the animals out here. thankfully, i think Tractor Supply is having a sale.

tonight starts the NFL week with a game i couldn't give two shits about. i probably won't watch much of it as there are some good college games on as well. this is assuming that the Yankees game is going to be in a rain delay for god knows how long.

i saw on tv this morning that it is National One Hit Wonder Day. that certainly brought back nearly all the music i listened to in the 80's to mind. let alone the drivel in the 90's that falls under that. here is probably my favorite one hit wonder of all time:

that's pretty much it for me today. i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the doctor's and getting my blood drawn. that's always fun.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

apparently, i was born just yesterday...

i had a lovely conversation (turn on your sarcasm machine now) with the dream woman this morning. she told she was trying to get her shit together to come see me this weekend. i thought ok, that's great news. she then told me i just needed to send $140 to Nigeria to complete the ticket for her. the money is to be picked up by a guy and then taken to her travel agent. apparently, i'm some fucking dummy that is supposed to just say ok. so, i started to ask questions. like any scam artist i know, the more i asked, the more "she" got upset. i use the quotation marks because who knows the fucking truth in all of this, if there is anything that could be called truth at all. "she" then went on to tell me about her love for me and no matter how stubborn i am, we are meant to be together, blah, blah, and fucking blah. i told her if that was true, great, but have fun with the other suckers in the world because they are much easier to fool than me. and when any instant message conversation ends up in ALL CAPS, i feel like i am on the right side. who knows, maybe "she" is the one for me. knowing that the last woman that really "loved" me is a former convict, it certainly is possible. but for now, i'll enjoy being single and still having my identity.

the Yankees lost last night, 5-4. that puts them FINALLY on the brink of elimination. they play again this afternoon, which could end up being the last home game for Jeter given the weather forecasts for New York. if they have it on at the sports bar i'll be at, i'll watch some of it.

after the long ass conversation this morning, i am definitely looking forward to lunch with my best friend from high school this afternoon. that should be one fun conversation. with plenty of drinks.

i actually need to take care of some medical shit this morning. running low on pills and i've got to find out if i'm having my blood drawn this Friday at the doctor's office. good times.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i have an early favorite so far this season...

a crazy voice for only 15.

tonight i'll be watching the season finale of Big Brother and The Bridge. hopefully both are great.

that's really all for me. if something amazes happens this afternoon, maybe i'll do a quickie later today.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

heavy on nostalgia

today is one of those days that you suddenly realize just how fucking old you are. and it's not that you had to vacuum the steps while your back was killing you. it's the fact that today starts the final home stand of Derek Jeter's career. and when you sit back and realize you've watched all 20 of his seasons, the joints start to ache and all you want to do is sit back in the chair and relive some championships.

the Yankees did win last night, 3-2. that was a nice victory beer, as they at least won the last game Jeter will play in that dump in Tampa. i saw this ad today and i have to admit, i did get tears. this will be tougher than i thought watching The Captain leave...

Big Brother was pretty good last night. i'm pretty sure that Caleb didn't see his eviction coming at all. it's pretty safe to say that the guys will be in the final 2 as Victoria hasn't won shit all summer.

The Bridge was excellent last night. the ending had me on the edge of my seat. i can't wait until next week.

tonight i'll be flipping between some baseball and football, both pro and college. at 10 i'll flip over to FX and watch the season finales of Married and You're the Worst.

on top of doing the stairs today, i also had dishes and toilets on the list. let's just say my back needs some ice.

i feel like i may have some words to get down on the page later tonight. i know when i start talking to myself and coming up with lines out of nowhere, something is coming.

i got 2 GREAT albums on NoiseTrade today for FREE. i highly recommend both of these. links will be in the music section.

the weather has been damn near perfect today. low 70's and hardly any humidity. i'd take it like this every damn day if i could.

that's all for me today. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

the sun still exists...

once the fog burned off this morning, the sun actually was there. shocking after the last few days. it warmed up nicely today, enough that i opened the windows. plus, i was doing my laundry, so some fresh air was certainly needed. my last load just went in.

i heard back from Presa Press on my poetry submission from last week. they don't publish the magazine anymore, only a few books each year. whoops. i guess i should have checked that out before i sent them some poems. but, they did send back what i sent. so i have 5 poems to send somewhere else now. oh well, just another magazine i never got in.

the Yankees lost last night 6-1. i found it amusing that they FINALLY got tired of getting hit by pitches from Tampa pitchers. of course, this being the 2014 Yankees, they respond by almost hitting an opponent. this team has lacked a soul since 2001. when that group of guys moved on, they took all the fight this team had with them. i doubt any of this will carry over to the game tonight. of course, if the team i have loved for 32 years is still embarrassed by this season, it just might.

it was very nice to watch Frankie get evicted last night on Big Brother. hopefully that asshole won't win America's Favorite Player either. there's another eviction tonight. this game is basically Derrick's to win now.

i'm also looking forward to watching The Bridge tonight. it looks like another great episode.

watched a little Champions League today while doing my laundry. i got a good laugh at Bayern Munich beating Manchester City 1-0 at the death. that will bring me a smile for the rest of the evening.

one good thing about starting off horribly in fantasy football, you usually get first pick of the players you want to pick up off of the waiver wire. so, i have rebuilt both of my teams given all of my injuries for this week. hopefully the guys i picked work out for me. one thing i don't like about this Sunday, i'm going up against two great quarterbacks. that's usually a bad sign of things to come. plus, since i will be traveling to watch a hockey game in Columbus for the evening, i won't get to watch much of the games. hopefully i have nothing happen in the next few days and i can just set my roster and check back late Sunday night to see what happened. and quite frankly, i'm more worried about how the hell i'm going to watch all my Sunday night shows more than my fantasy football teams.

that's pretty much all for me today. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

the big cool down

well, we had the line of fuck you storms come through last night. we didn't get much of the action, as that was mostly to the north of us. what we did get was a big cool down. it's been in the 60's all day long. was actually able to open up the house and let it air out.

just when i thought the water problems were over with... one of the toilets started acting up today. good times.

the Yankees started horribly last night. down 4 runs and had their starting pitcher knocked out in the first inning. but, it was one of the rare nights they actually showed some backbone and gave a shit. they went on to win 8-5. my first victory beer since god knows when. they play again tonight.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. thankfully, there is a new HOH. i might get my wish of Frankie getting evicted after all.

The Bridge was great once again last night. i love all the different layers of the show. and just how much of it is intertwined with everything else. what a fantastic web.

other than the NFL game tonight, i'll be watching Married and You're the Worst on FX.

i do have a couple fantasy players going tonight. i've picked Baltimore to win, mostly just by going with my gut.

i wrote 3 poems last night as there was no way i could fall asleep with how my body was aching in the rain. i typed them up this afternoon and think i may have a few winners in the batch.

i heard from the dream woman today. told her i missed her and she seemed shocked. said i didn't act like i wanted to get to know her better. so, i suppose the poems, the messages on Google+, and the voice messages were just me twiddling my fucking thumbs. i suppose what i learned as a teen is correct; i'll never fucking understand women.

after i get this done i'm going to take a long shower.

mom went to the audiologist today. i guess she's lost more hearing in her ear. they are going to try a different kind of hearing aid with her. i feel bad for her. she's under so much fucking stress that her body is breaking down now. hopefully, one of the doctors just force her to retire. that could be the best thing to happen to her. and considering she's vastly underpaid with what she does anyway, she's not going to notice much of a difference in money.

so, on that high note, that's all for me today. thank you for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

busy doing nothing

since some people that tell me they love me think i'm just bullshitting myself with this poetry thing, i wanted to pass on the news that i sent out 30 poems today. 5 each to Carcinogenic Poetry, 5 AM, and Presa Magazine; 3 each to Napalm and Novocain, Pyrokinection, Dead Snakes, The Camel Saloon, and Fuck Art, Let's Dance. when i hear back from these places, i'll pass along the verdicts here on the blog.

i talked to my sister today. she's been really getting into this ancestry.com shit. i humored her and my mother and did that DNA kit for them. i'm not really interested with the results unless it's something other than what i've been told all my life. i believe i am part Irish, Scottish, and German. if it comes back different than that, i might be mildly amused. my sister on the other hand is tracing shit back to the middle ages. good for her. i don't really want to know about the long line of assholes and alcoholics we came from.

made my football picks today and juggled both of my fantasy football teams a little. as usual, i have some injury concerns and i'm trying to take advantage of players being let go way too early by owners. that's usually how you win a championship.

the Yankees lost last night 4-3. i might have watched a few innings but that was it. i doubt i watch that much tonight.

we're under a tornado watch for tonight. that should make things interesting as there is a line of fuck you storms supposed to come through the area tonight. i hate night storms. they tend to come out of fucking nowhere.

Big Brother last night was pretty good. i did find myself laughing a few times. i can't wait to see the looks on their faces tonight when they realize the last week of the show has to be played again, all in one night. and hopefully, fucking Frankie gets evicted tonight. please.

i also watched Inside the NFL last night. it certainly isn't the show i grew up watching.

i'm really looking forward to The Bridge tonight. hopefully the storms stay away until i've seen the episode.

that's really all for me today. i've got some podcasts to go listen to and a weather radar to go watch. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

let the fun begin

it was nearly 90 degrees today before it was noon. and, of course, i have no clean shorts. at least i had some thin pants i could wear and not be sweltering to death in. i just love when it decides it's going to be summer right when it should be cooling down. i know the damn crops don't need this heat. this is the kind of shit that takes a great harvest to well, what could have been. hopefully it will cool down soon.

the Yankees played like they gave a shit last night, winning 5-1. when they can do that for a few weeks in a row, i'll start giving a shit again.

Big Brother was what i figured it would be last night. hopefully after Nicole gets evicted again tonight, Frankie is the next to go. there's a double eviction tonight, so at least there is hope.

The Bridge was spectacular last night. the violence has really picked up in these last few episodes and next week looks to be even better. best show going today.

tonight is the start of the NFL season. i have no players going tonight, so i'll be in and out of the game all night long. other than Big Brother, tonight i'll be watching Married and You're the Worst on the best network going today, FX.

looks like we're going to have to hit the grocery store here soon. i'm guessing tomorrow, hopefully before the storms come. there's nothing quite like carrying in groceries in a thunderstorm with a bad back. pure fucking joy.

if i do get some time tomorrow, i'm going to get the next batch of poems ready to go out. i really have no clue how many i have to send out. that will kind of determine how many places i send to. and since the fall sports are getting ready to take over my life, my next batch of work will be going out in one of my classic typing at 3 in the morning sessions. as long as the victory beers are flowing, all will be well.

that's all for me today. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

a productive day

i got a line stuck in my head last night that i absolutely loved but had to get down on paper as quickly as i could. around 3 in the morning, i kept repeating the line and then a story came out. i wrote it down and it became my first 2 page poem in god knows when. i really, really LOVE this poem. i have no clue where i'm going to try to get it published since it is so long, but i will hopefully get that done before the end of the year. if not, maybe i make up a broadsheet or something and try to sell the fucker around. or a Christmas gift. who knows.

i had to get gas for my truck and the lawn tractor today. of course, i had to put air in my front tires before i could go do that. nothing quite like the joy of sweating your ass off while trying not to fuck up your back putting air in the tires. now, hopefully i will get a chance to mow the farm before it fucking rains again out here. the grass hasn't grown at all, but the weeds are fucking impressive looking right now.

mom had a long doctor's appointment today. she told me what the doctor told her and i'm not really happy about it. let's just say i really hope her disability insurance doesn't try to fuck around with this shit.

the Yankees played like absolute shit last night. you know the season is over when they can't beat last place teams. lost 9-4 to the shitty Red Sox. they play again tonight. i almost could give a shit.

i got home from getting gas today just in time to see the goal the USA scored to beat the Czech Republic for the first time ever today. what i really loved was just how young the team was. many were making their first appearance for the USA. winning 1-0 in Europe is always a good thing, no matter who they play. i really like the direction this team is going in for 2018.

tonight on television i will be watching Caleb be a complete pussy on Big Brother. and hopefully another outstanding episode of The Bridge.

after watching Inside the NFL and Hard Knocks last night, i'm really ready for the season to start. my two fantasy teams are in order. hopefully, i get off to a good start.

that's pretty much all for me today. thank you for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

sometimes it's better off to be...

i had a conversation with the muse last night. first time we had spoke since she moved. eventually, as all our conversations devolve into when she's dead tired, she got on her soapbox that i should quit this writing dream and get a job like the rest of the world. this always makes me laugh, as this has been a part of her conversation with me for over a decade now. i'm sure she loves me and has my best interest at heart, but, as a stubborn person herself, she surely must understand that i'm way too invested in this dream to piss it away now. i look at it this way. this writing dream has me on the phone with a beautiful woman at 3 in the morning, laughing, as i picture her naked eating mac and cheese. like i would trade that for a 9 to 5 or another trip back into the factory. yes, i'm poor. yes, i can't afford hardly anything i want. but i have never let a little thing called money get in the way of me living my life. there comes the rub. i'm not living the life they want me to live. the joy of being an individual is understanding that sometimes it's better off to be alone. all alone. that makes it much easier to decipher the noise of the agenda of others.

now, i step off of my soapbox...

the Yankees exploded last night in the 3rd inning, getting 9 straight hits. that was truly a holy shit thing to watch. they went on to win 8-4. they play again this afternoon. hopefully they can keep the hits coming and win again.

Big Brother last night was boring, which is truly what i expected once they got rid of Zach. tonight, Donny will be evicted and the show will get even more boring.

Brew Dogs was excellent last night. the more i watch shit about home brewing, the more i am considering making my own alcohol.

The Bridge last night was spectacular. it had a little of everything last night. plus, another great ending. i can't wait until next week.

as for tonight, other than Big Brother, i'll be bouncing between some college football games, Married and You're the Worst on FX, and god knows what else.

i also need to get some shit done around the house today. some sweeping and other cleaning mostly. mom went to work today. so, mostly it will be about managing my time between watching porn and getting shit done.

that's all for me. thanks again for allowing me to waste some of your precious time.

an afternoon out and about

when mom said she wanted to go to lunch and then the store today, i figured that gave me a reason to take a shower. figured if i was going to fuck with my stress level and expose myself to humanity, i may as well be clean. we went to O'Charley's for lunch. i hadn't been there for years. we had some great food and a great waitress. if i had some more confidence and was a smooth fucker, i would have totally flirted with her when she brought me my second beer. unfortunately, it would have taken a few more of them and some shots to get me to the shit talking stage. we had to hit up the grocery store for the slew of over the counter shit we take. at least we had coupons for all of it. saw a few stunning women at the store. there will definitely be some poems about them here soon. and the children they were with. i just love how i can scare the shit out of a kid just by walking by. that's a fun game to play when i'm getting annoyed or bored in the store. not even sure my mother knows i'm playing it. yes, i do know i'm crazy.

the Yankees lost last night 5-2. so much for that winning streak. hopefully they start another one tonight. they can't afford any losing streaks if they want to make the playoffs.

the season finale of Tyrant was excellent last night. a nice swerve at the end that caught me off guard. hopefully, there will be a second season for the show. when a coup goes bad and the show ends with the brother saying he will sentence the other brother to death... i kind of need to know what happens next.

Hard Knocks was the usual fake toughness from the Falcons. i had a few good laughs during the show.

as for tonight, i'll be watching Big Brother, the season finale of Brew Dogs, and The Bridge. hopefully, between the shows and some baseball, i'll have a good evening.

hard to believe college football starts tomorrow night. where the fuck did the summer go?

i heard back from a publisher on some poems i sent over a year ago. ah, i just love email and how shit gets lost sometimes. needless to say i will be sending him some work in my next batch of submissions. that will happen in a week or so i think.

that's all for me today. thank you for allowing me few minutes to waste your precious time.

bring on the pain

when i hear rain on the metal roof of the house when i'm falling asleep, i know i'm going to at least get a few hours. when i hear it when i first wake up in the morning, i know a day of misery is ahead of me. but, bring on the pain as the crops are desperate for a good drink. so far, it's been a slow drizzle with a little thunder. as long as it doesn't get crazy, this is exactly what the crops need today.

the Yankees fell behind last night, took the lead, and then, yes, you guessed it, pissed away another game against Houston, 5-2. this team plays down to its competition and has paid for it all season long. they play early this afternoon. hopefully the game puts me to sleep or the satellite feed goes out.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. sadly, it looks like Zach is going to get the boot tonight. but, hopefully in the latest twist, he comes back into the house right after eviction. if not, all i hope is that somehow that fucking sociopath Frankie doesn't win.

Brew Dogs was really good last night. they made a beer in New Orleans. i really need to get to that town at some point in my life. although, chances are, i won't leave.

The Bridge was spectacular last night. this season isn't as good as the first one was but it is as close as you can get to being as good. i love the small world feel as the characters are getting closer and closer to being intertwined. i can't wait for next week.

also tonight, i'll be watching Married and You're The Worst on FX.

the New York Rangers surprised me yesterday by winning the Kevin Hayes sweepstakes. he should fit in quite nicely with how AV wants the guys to play.

i figure i might flip over to FXX sometime in the next 12 days for The Simpsons marathon. that's one of the myriad of shows that i never really got into over my 38 years on earth.

that's all for today kids. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

nothing a long shower couldn't cure...

i got stuck behind a school bus today on my way into town. that brought back the less than fond memories of going to school in late August knowing you had at least one class in the afternoon that was in the west building. of course, that building had no air conditioning. ah, good times...

the Yankees got a lead last night and promptly pissed it away. they tied the game only to lose it in the 9th, 7-4. i'm at the point now where i truly don't give a shit. i may watch them for a bit tonight, but thankfully there are other shows for me to watch.

Tyrant was excellent last night. i can't wait for the season finale next week.

Hard Knocks was more unintentional comedy for me. being a Saints fan, quite honestly, i get a good amount of joy out of any misery the Falcons have.

tonight i'll be watching Big Brother, Brew Dogs, and The Bridge. hopefully it will be a great night of television.

i got a call from the muse today. i haven't heard from her in nearly a month. i was happy to hear that at least some of her drama is getting settled in her life.

i haven't heard from the dream woman in a few days. as usual, i have no fucking clue what's going on there.

i took a nap this afternoon while watching some Champions League playoff games. i guess i needed some sleep. but, that's nothing a long shower couldn't cure. first time my lazy ass has had clean clothes on in days.

as usual, the weather people got it wrong again here. now, it's the casual excuse of pop up storms. i would love if one of them would just fucking say.. "honestly, i have no fucking clue what it's going to do out there. you may get rain or you may be dry for two fucking months. beats me." that little piece of honesty would win me over for life.

that's all for me today. hopefully, you're in a better place than i am currently. once again, thank you for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises, and dirty pennies from heaven.

sensory overload

next time i think it's a good decision to go to the store around 5 PM on a weekday, either talk sense into me or shoot me in the fucking head. too many people, way too many children, not everything stocked... the only good thing was nearly all the checkout lines were open and the woman bagging our groceries didn't bite my head off when i asked for some things in paper bags.

we went to the tractor supply store before that to get food for the zoo out here. i believe my cat Tolstoy might be on the dead list. haven't seen it in about 2 weeks. 2 more and it'll be scratched off the list.

was happy for Zach last night on Big Brother. i'm pretty sure Nicole will be leaving tonight. hopefully the next HOH will be able to get Frankie or Christine out next.

Wilfred was great last night. a nice mix of sadness and laughs. plus, most of the questions got answered. definitely a show that i will miss.

The Bridge was great again last night. i loved the ending. can't wait to see where it goes next week.

i also watched Brew Dogs on the Esquire Network last night. i try to catch that show when i can. one, just in case i travel, i'll know where the good bars are. two, i love beer. i highly recommend the show if you do as well.

after Big Brother tonight, i'll be watching Married and You're The Worst on FX.

i caught part 2 of The Jim Norton Show today on vice.com. if you love comics busting each other's balls, go check it out.

the Yankees had a lead last night. but, since the manager only trusts 2 relievers, he rolled the dice last night and tried to get 3 innings from a guy who normally doesn't go longer than 2. sure enough, he gives up a tying home run in the 3rd inning of work. and then, in comes a guy he doesn't trust, and he gives up a 3 run homer. the Yankees got back a run in the 9th and at least gave themselves a chance to tie the game, but, as is the story of this season, they came up short. a 5-3 loss that makes it more and more likely that Jeter's last season will be like Mo's last season. one with no playoffs. thankfully, they are off tonight before they go down to play in that dump in Tampa.

i feel bad for my mother. she's under so much stress and her ear is starting to fuck with her again. i had a conversation yesterday with her trying to make her understand why she is stressed and why she shouldn't be. mom is the kind of person that just wants to do her job, do it well, get paid accordingly, and go about her life. sadly, she picked the wrong profession, as she works with a bunch of glory fuckers. i related it like this: they don't want to find the cure for cancer, they simply want their name on it. this is where her stress comes from as she's not a glory fucker. i told her to either become one or quit giving a shit that they are. all i'm really trying to do is make sure she doesn't croak anytime soon. at least not until more of the bills are paid off.

yes, yes, i know, i'm going to hell for that last line. i'm trying to enjoy the ride.

well, that's all for me kids. see you tomorrow.

be well. be cool. be creative. be quick to send me CASH, love letters, panties, hate mail, broken promises, and old baseball cards.

who needs sleep

i found myself up at something like 4 in the morning, catching up on some television i missed, wondering why do i even bother with sleep anymore. my life is a series of naps anymore. so be it.

the Yankees got some great pitching last night and some very timely hitting to beat another former Cy Young winner, 5-1. they go for the series win this afternoon.

i caught up on the episode of Hard Knocks i missed the other night on HBO. as a Saints fan, i'm watching this with part laughter and part trying to learn the secrets of the enemy. i do like the false bravado of these assholes. no wonder the Falcons stunk last year.

Big Brother was interesting last night. and i surely thought i knew who was going to be evicted tonight until i read what happened in the house last night. now, i really have no clue who is going to go out with the first vote tonight, let alone, the second eviction tonight. i love the double eviction nights. let the chaos begin.

Wilfred was really good last night. they have set up the series finale next week perfectly. can't wait.

The Bridge was brilliant as always last night. another couple of twists that really will take the show to yet another level. i absolutely love this show.

had a really great conversation with a publisher last night that really brought my confidence way back up. just the shot of energy i needed. so, thank you Chris Byck. best of luck with your new job.

i'm looking forward to the new episodes of Married and You're the Worst tonight on FX.

i figure i'll be watching the Yankees game today while i'm cleaning out my closet. hopefully it is a long ass game as i haven't touched that damn thing in years.

that's really all for me today. i do hope this finds everyone well. and please, if you do like this blog or my writing, etc., TELL THE REST OF THE FUCKING WORLD...

a few good souls left in the world

maybe 20 minutes after i woke up this morning, there was a call from the mechanic. he said there was a short in the battery in my truck. they put a new one in and it was running fine. total bill came to $130. considering the other place i normally go would have been well over $200 because of labor, i believe i have found a new mechanic. now, just have to put all the radio stations back in. i got a 5 year warranty on the battery, since i know my luck, i may have this damn truck another 5 years. those 5 years were included in the $130. i know that would have been more at the other place. so a big thank you to Noble's Automotive Services.

mom decided she wanted to go to lunch today at the Longhorn Steakhouse. the prices were a little high but the food was excellent. definitely a place i will go to again.

the season finale of Deadliest Catch was really good last night. probably one of the best reality shows ever. the episode of Tyrant last night was really good. there were a couple of moments that certainly caught me off guard. can't wait for next week.

the Yankees lost a winnable game last night, 4-3 in 12 innings. they face yet another great pitcher tonight. hopefully they win tonight as i would love to have a chance to win this series.

got some new free music today on NoiseTrade from American Aquarium. i'll post the link down below in the music section. i highly recommend you check it out.

besides the Yankees tonight, i'll be watching Big Brother, Wilfred, and The Bridge.

found a couple places i have never sent to before while doing some searching on the internet today. so, tomorrow i'll go through the unpublished poems and see how many i can come up with. might need another writing session, but i don't believe i will.

after i get done with this, i need to get on vice.com and see the new episode of The Jim Norton Show. hopefully it is up.

talked to my friend in California today. she's still dealing with some concussion issues. hopefully all the drama in her life can settle down so she can start getting better.

that's all for today kids. hope this finds everyone well.

deadline day

today was trade deadline day in major league baseball. i was hoping the Yankees were going to do something that i could say, that's going to make a difference. sadly, like most of this season, i'm disappointed. the one trade with the Red Sox was basically trash for trash. the other trade with Arizona was a once useful utility player for some young power. needless to say, i don't care for either trade. they basically made their bench a smidge better, but not enough to make the playoffs or to probably finish more than a few games over .500. hard to believe that 2 of the greatest players in the history of the franchise (Rivera, Jeter) and both of their final seasons were a big pile of shit.

that being said, there were some HUGE deals today. i was a little shocked at the names that got traded. the biggest surprise was that most of the deals were major league players for major league players, not a ton of prospects were moved this year.

thankfully, after the Yankees lost last night, 3-2, to lose the series against the WORST team in baseball, they don't play tonight. i won't miss them. they play tomorrow night in Boston.

i did write 3 poems last night, while listening to The Chemical Brothers. typically, they are 3 sad poems. the last one was really sad, which is saying something for some of the depressing shit i have written over the years. i really like all 3. July was a surprisingly fruitful month for me with over 20 poems written. that's a high number for me in the summer. i'll probably send these 3 out with my next round of submissions in August.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. should be pretty funny to watch Amber go home tonight. SoundClash last night was so much better than last week. a great mix of Ed Sheeran, Sia, and Grouplove. they did a cover of a Beyonce song at the end of the night that was really good. hopefully that is the kind of show this will be each week. Wilfred was great again last night. the ending caught me off guard, but was funny as hell. The Bridge was great once again. i like how this season has a slow burn feel to it. looks like it will really pick up next week.

after Big Brother tonight, i'll be watching Married and You're the Worst on FX.

just got finished watching part 1 and 2 of the "Freeway" Rick Ross interview on The Jim Norton Show on vice.com. i highly recommend you check this interview.

my last load of laundry is in the dryer. after i get those clothes folded i have toilets to clean and trash to take out. good times.

looks like this might be the last dry day for the next week or so. just what i need, more misery for my back.

had a chat with the muse last night. i can't imagine the drama and bullshit she's going through right now. hopefully, it all works out for her in the end.

that's all for me for now. hopefully your day has been better than mine.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me cash. be sure to only fuck the ones that cough.

amazing what a long shower can do...

the weather can't seem to make a decision today. it's been sunny, then stormy, then sunny again. all the while, it hasn't made it to 80 degrees. fucking bizarre for the end of July.

i took a really long shower this afternoon. i was trying to work out some pain in my back and just take a good 20 minutes to reflect on my shitty life and what to do next. the back pain has subsided. the shitty life? not so much.

i did get a somewhat hopeful email from my artist friend in Sweden. that brightened my day a bit.

Manchester United won last night on penalty kicks, 5-3. they outplayed Inter Milan for most of the game. i was hoping they would have scored in regulation, but that didn't happen. they next play Real Madrid on Saturday up at The Big House. there is supposed to be more than 100,000 there to see it. i was hoping to be one of those people, but it's hard to get tickets with no money and when they sell out in 30 seconds.

the Yankees won a fucking crazy game last night, 12-11. when i first started watching, they were losing 4-1. that soon became a 10-4 lead. then, the tired relievers came in. 10-4 quickly becomes 10-8. the Yankees get 2 back to make 12-8. the closer had a three run lead in the bottom of the ninth and needed every bit of that lead. when the Rangers best player flied out with the bases loaded and only trailing by 1 run, i realized why my family has a history of ulcers. fucking christ. that victory beer should have been a fifth of something stronger than strong.

Deadliest Catch was pretty good last night. Tyrant was really good last night. a nice little twist at the end that should make for an interesting episode next week.

tonight is another busy night on the television. the Yankees play in Texas, the day before the trade deadline. Big Brother has a new episode. this should be a fun one. SoundClash is also new tonight. i think these bands tonight will be a better mix. Wilfred should be another great episode. and finally, The Bridge is a show that i absolutely refuse to miss.

and then after all that, i'm planning to get on vice.com and watch the new episode of The Jim Norton Show.

talked to my friend in California today. she sounds so much better than she did on the weekend. at least it sounds like she is recovering well from her major concussion.

if i have the energy tonight, i'm hoping to have another writing session. i want to put on some techno music from the 90's on and see what i come up with. ah, the drug days of my 20's.

that's all for today kids. hope this finds everyone well. until we meet again...

aches and pains

i woke up sometime around 6 or so this morning, completely in pain. i knew it must have just rained. i didn't even bother to try to move. i probably stayed in the same spot for 30 minutes or so, just hoping to fall back asleep. no such luck.

i can tell you that the pain hasn't let up today at all. fucking cold fronts.

i found out last night that the mother of the guy who farms out here died on Monday. it didn't come as a surprise to anyone as her health has been failing for years. we're hoping to sell the farm to this guy, so i have no clue what this does to those plans. my condolences to the family.

the Yankees won last night, 2-1 in 14 innings. mind you, there wasn't any runs scored until the 13th inning. if there ever was a game i would have preferred to shoot myself in the head rather than watch, this was it. the guy they traded for earlier in the day got the winning hit. not a bad debut. of course, when he struck out with his first at bat, i looked at mom and said he fits right in. they face one of the best pitchers in the league tonight. i'm not expecting much.

Deadliest Catch and Tyrant were both really good last night.

tonight is going to be crazy for me. a new episode of Big Brother is on. then, i want to check out this new music show on VH1. i think it's called SoundClash. then, it's off to FXX to see Wilfred. and then it gets tricky. The Bridge will be on FX at the same time that Manchester United is playing the LA Galaxy on Fox Sports 1. The Bridge is so damn good that i'm thinking i will just watch that and catch the second half of the United game. i'll have to have the trigger finger ready for the commercial breaks.

had another afternoon on iTunes today. my musical tastes are getting bizarre.

i did type up the 5 poems i wrote yesterday late last night/this morning. i like a few of them. i'll try to get some shit sent out before the month is over. i would say later this week, but after this rain, i get the feeling i'm going to be mowing grass for the next few days.

had a long talk with the muse late last night. i feel bad for her. she's in a pretty shitty situation. she hasn't asked for my help yet, even though we both know i would somehow try to help her with my broke ass. hopefully i won't have to.

that's all for me today. i need to get on YouTube and see what i missed this afternoon while i was trying to sleep in my chair. it was more of experiencing bitter agony while trying to find music that would take my mind someplace else. i suppose it is time to start doing drugs again.

be well my enemies.

slow news day

so i was watching the news this afternoon about the plane crash in the Ukraine. i fell asleep. i woke up to Israel starting a ground operation in the Gaza Strip. except in my mind, it was the same event. so i'm flipping through the channels thinking WW3 is starting. i eventually took a shower to make sure i was really awake.

mom made some really good turkey burgers for lunch. i think she may have sprinkled on some extra tryptophan on them. at least that's what i'm going with for the long nap this afternoon.

i watched Big Brother last night, just to really see how Donny beat Devin in the POV competition. that made me laugh out loud. so, thankfully, Devin will be evicted tonight and i can go back to enjoying the show.

other than Big Brother tonight, i'm going to try the new comedies on FX, Married and You're the Worst. hopefully the previews didn't have all the good parts. i love some good crass humor.

Wilfred was really good last night. i love how they are doing this final season.

The Bridge was creepy as fuck last night. just when i think that show can't get any better, it proves me wrong.

since i'm not a big fan of golf, there really isn't much sports going on today. thankfully, that will change in the next week or so.

amazingly, the humidity held off for another day here. so, the windows are still open.

my mom and sister went in on some hockey tickets for the Columbus Blue Jackets. i think they did a quarter season. all i know is i get to see my beloved New York Rangers twice next season. it's always fun to wear the enemy colors into a building. of course, when the Rangers aren't playing, i'll just be a fan for those games.

i heard a Todd Snider song on the radio yesterday as i was scrubbing the toilets. thankfully, i found the full, uncensored song on iTunes this morning. i've been playing the shit out of it today.

that's pretty much all for me today. hopefully this finds everyone well. and hopefully no one reading this had anyone on that plane today.
