the Yankees lost last night at the Mets, 9-7. i hope they find a way to win tonight, but it is obvious, given all the injuries now, they probably won't.
i did watch some of the Copa America games last night and Euro 2024 games today. i am still shocked that Georgia beat Portugal today 2-0. i will probably watch some of the Copa America games tonight.

this week will be nothing but hot and humid weather. not the greatest of times for us fat people. i could take 10 showers this week and still feel everything sticking to me. i like to think if there is a hell, this would be the closest version of it. i was out in it a little today as i had to return some things for mom. thankfully, it didn't take that long.
the Yankees won yesterday at home, sweeping the Royals, 8-5. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow night at home against the Mets.

the grocery shopping went pretty smoothly today. mom found another Kroger gift card in her room. so, i decided i would get some meat at a good price to stock up the freezer. after i used the gift card, i got a shit ton of groceries for $13. not too shabby. i also used some discounts at Rite Aid today that took $102 down to $85. i did get a box of baseball cards there. i figured there wouldn't be much in them, but i did find two numbered autographed cards in it. those were basically worth what i paid for the box. good times.
the Yankees won last night at Boston, 7-6 in 10 innings. Aaron Judge his two home runs last night. he is now at 57 for the season. hopefully, the Yankees will find a way to win again tonight.

so, i knew i had a doctor's appointment this morning. i got up and took a shower and made sure i got everything ready to leave on time. the landscaping crew that mom hired was out here at 9 this morning. they did the flower beds a few years ago and most of them turned out great. sadly, the one right in front of the house is nothing but weeds. mom is pissed enough that she wants everything taken out and rocks put in instead.
so, i made it to the doctor's appointment on time. everything went smoothly but what i have noticed with this new doctor is he doesn't draw any blood in office. everything has to go through CompuNet. i get why as doctors are notorious for wanting to bleed the insurance to death... i thought this appointment was to just check my A1C. well, i guess he also wanted a comprehensive metabolic panel done as well. they have a CompuNet right there where the doctor's office is, but they were way too crowded and i didn't feel like waiting. so, i went to the CompuNet at the hospital where my mother went in February. they do appointments, which i was fine with. i got mine for this afternoon. i got there a little early as i haven't used the online shit before. no sooner than i signed in i was going back to get my blood drawn. i was back out in the parking lot 2 minutes before my actual appointment was supposed to start. that made me really happy. of course, i went to Big Lots on the way home looking for baseball cards and they had none. but, i was checking my email earlier and got in on a sale at Topps.com for a value box. good times.

i have been pleasantly thrilled with the Dayton Flyers the last few days. to get two 4 star recruits to commit in 3 days is something the program has NEVER done. i love that Archie Miller left because he could never win those recruiting battles and now Anthony Grant has won two in a row over some really huge schools.
i love these days where i have to ice my back down in order to sleep, to sit at the computer, to stand for more than 15 minutes, etc.etc. i swear, one day i will live in a fucking desert, hopefully while i'm alive.
i loved how Manchester United started yesterday against Wolves. i thought it was the best first half they have played on the road in a long fucking time. sadly, that didn't carry over to the second half. Ole waited too long in my opinion to put the subs on and Pogba missed a penalty kick that probably would have given United the win. instead, it finished 1-1. now, i can look at it as two points dropped or as 1 point more than United got against Wolves on the road last season. of course, all the racists came out after Pogba missed that kick. sickens me that these assholes still exist in 2019.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i loved the King of the Ring matches and i totally didn't expect new tag team champions. of course, the reports are that Vince wasn't there last night, so that might explain why the show flowed so well.
i love that NXT is going to the USA Network in September. looks like we're going to have a little wrestling war on Wednesday nights this fall between NXT and AEW. i can't fucking wait.

it has sort of been rainy today, so my back has been killing me. so you can imagine my reaction when Manchester United went down 1-0 to Barcelona in the 12th minute on an own goal. i thought the boys did a good job of being as physical as they could be with Messi. but, the strikers today lacked the quality needed. the chances were there. the game ended 1-0. they play at Barcelona next week. i'll keep the hope alive that they will find a way to advance in the Champions League, but i can't imagine them getting away with anything on Messi in Spain. but, i have seen stranger things happen before.
the New York Yankees pissed away another victory last night. they lost at Houston, 6-3. hopefully, they will avoid the sweep tonight.

the NHL playoffs start tonight. of course, the New York Rangers didn't make it. but, they did get the 2nd pick overall for the NHL draft in the draft lottery last night. that shocked me a bit.

i had to go out to get some money for mom at her ATM today. of course, that's a 20 minute drive or so. she wanted me to pick up some Taco Bell on the way back. her taste buds are getting fucking weird as she gets older.

the New York Yankees lost the suspended game yesterday against the Nationals (5-3) and won the second game 4-2. they start a series tonight at home against Seattle.
Monday Night Raw was very good last night.
i woke up this morning to see Japan was up 1-0 on Colombia and Colombia was playing with 10 men. i guess that's what i get for tuning in 20 minutes late to a World Cup game. Japan ended up winning the game 2-1. Senegal upset Poland 2-1. and Russia blitzed Egypt in the second half to win the game 3-1. tomorrow Portugal plays Morocco, Uruguay takes on Saudi Arabia and Iran plays Spain.
It Will Be Chaos was very interesting to watch last night. it's one of those documentaries i wish everyone would watch.
