fun to wake up and be happy, for a change...

so, when i woke up this morning, it was a little bit before the Manchester United game was going to start. so, i was ready when it got going. i wasn't very happy with the first 30 minutes. but, once Onana made the penalty save and the team woke the fuck up, it was easily the best they have played this season. now, it helps that Southampton sucks. United won today, 3-0.

after the game, i went to Kroger to pick up a prescription. it took way longer than it should have, but i wasn't going to bitch since there was no cost for it. after that, i went to Meijer. it was a little more crowded than i would have liked. but, i did find what i was looking for.

the Yankees won last night at home against Boston, 5-4. Aaron Judge ended his long home run drought. his grand slam was the difference in the game.

they are currently up in today's game, 1-0.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night.

AEW Rampage was good last night.

Inside the NFL was good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

well, here we go again...

the Yankees got rained out last night in Boston, yet again. so, there will be another doubleheader today. hopefully, they will win both games like the first two games of this series.

AEW Dynamite was really good last night.

Big Brother was pretty funny last night. i think Izzy will get evicted tonight. of course, you never know with this group.

the weather is supposed to be really nice again today, so i am going to try to get outside and take care of the birds.

i had one of my usual bullshit internet greetings in the last few hours. had a woman say hello to me that claimed she was from Ohio but lives in Ghana now. there's the first red flag. the second one, she tells me all about herself and how she is a Christian. and then the third strike, sends me her picture and it is one of a porn star. it never fails. how i just love motherfuckers wasting my time.

i should be on here tomorrow after i take mom to Rite Aid.

one of those sunny days where life actually feels worth living...

the grocery shopping went pretty smoothly today. mom found another Kroger gift card in her room. so, i decided i would get some meat at a good price to stock up the freezer. after i used the gift card, i got a shit ton of groceries for $13. not too shabby. i also used some discounts at Rite Aid today that took $102 down to $85. i did get a box of baseball cards there. i figured there wouldn't be much in them, but i did find two numbered autographed cards in it. those were basically worth what i paid for the box. good times.

the Yankees won last night at Boston, 7-6 in 10 innings. Aaron Judge his two home runs last night. he is now at 57 for the season. hopefully, the Yankees will find a way to win again tonight.

NXT was excellent last night.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW Dynamite, Big Brother and two episodes of Welcome to Wrexham.

i should be on here tomorrow in the morning before Manchester United plays in the Europa League.

i need to figure out dinner tonight and probably ice my back for a good hour or so.

somehow, i keep taking punches...

today was one of those days where i'm all out of tears. just one gut punch after another. one of those days where i'll be drinking whiskey tonight, apologizing to my 8 year-old self, knowing damn well he was right. death was the obvious choice to make. it could have saved me from all of this shit.

so, my mother had an appointment today at the dermatologist. she has this spot above her lip that her cardiologist told her to get it checked out. as soon as the doctor walked in, she bluntly said, yeah, that's cancer. they numbed my mother up and took a sample off to get the pathology of it. once they have that, she will be recommended to the specialists 30 minutes away for them to remove it. there is about an inch or so of her lip that will be removed. the dermatologist said hopefully they get all of it and can give her a patch job that gives her lip integrity. mom has had this spot for about 6 or 7 years. i can't be the asshole today and scream why the fuck did you wait so long. she already feels bad enough.

so, after that, we had to go get her new glasses. hopefully, they will help her see better. both the glasses and sunglasses look good on her.

after that, i took her to Burger King to get her frozen Coke and it was straight back home.

when we walked into the office, Manchester United was up 1-0. CR7 yet again. as we were walking out, i noticed United was down to 10 men because of a straight red card to one of their defenders. and then sometime before i pulled into the garage at home, Young Boys had tied the game at 1. i went in and found the game on television, just in time to watch Jesse Lingard make a disastrous back pass that went straight to the American on Young Boys, who calmly slotted it in the goal in the dying seconds of the game. so, United lost 2-1 to a team they shouldn't ever be losing to. now, it's not the end of the world, but it also means they have no room for error in the rest of the group stage games in the Champions League.

and to top off this day of shit, i found out Norm Macdonald died. and of course, it was from cancer. he was one of my favorite comedians ever. rest in peace and thanks for all the laughs.

the Yankees got down 5-0 yesterday to the Twins. but, since they were playing the Twins, the Yankees came back to win the game 6-5 in 10 innings. honestly, when the Yankees went down 4-0 in the first, i stopped watching. i put on some soccer and caught up on some sleep. the Yankees start a series tonight in Baltimore.

Monday Night Raw was good last night. i am so damn happy for Big E.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NXT and Deadliest Catch.

i did watch a good portion of the Monday Night Football game last night. that was fucking crazy.

that's one way to ease my back pain...

i was really hoping to get the blog done before Dayton played today. throw in some back pain and 3 hours of sleep... and here i am. i got a really good fucking nap before the Dayton game. 2 hours with ice on my back. and considering that's about half of what i get each night, i should be charged for the rest of the evening.

Dayton defeated Rhode Island today in the A10 Tournament, 84-72. they will now face VCU tomorrow afternoon.

https://www.daytondailynews.com/sports/dayton-wins-a-10-tournament-game-for-first-time-in-five-years-earns-rematch-with-vcu/BPBZE2FGJBEW3L72C2VUH7S7B4/

NXT was really good last night.

AEW was really good last night as well.

the final two episodes of Name That Tune were good. i was shocked at how much more i knew than the contestants.

Snowfall was fucking brilliant last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon, B Positive, The Unicorn, Clarice and Desus & Mero. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers start their road trip tonight at New Jersey. hopefully, they will find a way to win.

the second part of my Amazon.com order arrived today. so, i will be busy putting some baseball cards in sleeves at some point tonight.

speaking of baseball, the Yankees won last night over Toronto, 4-1. they lost today to the Phillies, 15-0. at least Aaron Boone's pacemaker procedure went well.

mom had some nurses out here today to get some blood. her blood pressure wasn't good while they were doing that. thankfully, it was much better this afternoon.

i will hopefully be on here tomorrow before Dayton plays VCU. if not, i'll be on after the game, hopefully happy that Dayton won and not lost for the third time this season to VCU. of course, the game is at VCU, so i don't have high hopes.

always fun going to bed when the sun is coming up...

i went to bed at 7 this morning. i mean it when i tell everyone, my body uses alcohol as fuel. get a little Jack Daniels in me and i can go on for hours like i'm doing cocaine. i've been busy getting my cards better organized, which is taking forever. but, i'm getting there.

yesterday seemed long as fuck, but in a good way...

my sister left in the afternoon yesterday. it was a pretty quiet visit for the most part. i do believe she liked her birthday gifts.

the Yankees came from behind yesterday and swept the Orioles, 3-1. that's 5 victories in a row now. they are off tonight and start a HUGE series at home against Toronto tomorrow.

here are your NBA highlights from yesterday:

here are your NHL highlights from yesterday:

the New Orleans Saints defeated Tampa Bay yesterday, 34-23. the defense looked great yesterday. the offense needs some work. Drew Brees looked like an old man finally. but, they did enough to start the season off with a victory and make Tom Brady look like an even older man than Brees.

the season finale of We Hunt Together was very good.

Love Fraud was good last night. the finale is next week.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

Big Brother was good last night.

Power Book II: Ghost was excellent last night.

Lovecraft Country was fucking amazing last night.

The Vow was very good last night.

Our Cartoon President was hilarious last night.

the preview of The Masked Singer was good last night. it's going to be another crazy season.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Axios, The Third Day and We Are Who We Are. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did listen to episode 308 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
https://omny.fm/shows/notsam-wrestling/in-your-face-notsam-wrestling-308

i had to go out this afternoon and pick up mom's pills from the pharmacy. i decided i'd go and check out some baseball cards at Meijer since i was out. they didn't have much at all. i got a few packs of 2019 Topps Series 1 and some 2019 Score football cards. i got a few good ones, probably worth about as much as i paid for everything. mom wanted me to get her a frozen coke while i was out. thankfully, the machine at Burger King was working today.

i'll probably watch a little of the NHL playoffs tonight. the NBA is off tonight.

i'm not sure when i will be on here tomorrow. i know i'd love to get to bed before morning, that's for sure.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

finally, a cool breeze...

it actually felt like fall when i went out to get the paper this morning. of course, it's supposed to be back in the 80's by early next week. joy.

the New York Yankees lost in 12 innings last night, 6-5 to Toronto. hopefully, they will get a victory later this afternoon.

Murder in the Bayou was excellent last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was very good last night.

Room 104 was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and ROH.

Manchester United is currently up 1-0 at halftime against Leicester. hopefully, they will get a victory today.

Ohio State plays at noon today at Indiana. i'm interested to see how Ohio State will play on the road.

i will probably watch a few more college football games today as well.

i did write five poems last night. i finally got the line that was stuck in my head for over a week out of me. i typed those poems up last night and i really think most of them are really good. i'll probably get some more poems out before the end of the month.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

i'll be on here early tomorrow.

well, mom has her new windows now...

i give the guys that put the windows in some credit. they got here a little before 10 this morning and they busted their asses and got this shit done by 3 this afternoon. 13 windows in a little over 5 hours. the one guy said they were scheduled for 2 days but wanted to get it done in 1 so they had tomorrow off. works for me. they do look really good. hopefully, they will help with the energy costs as well.

the New York Yankees almost got no hit last night by a pitcher they have killed over the years. they did manage a measly 2 hits in the 3-1 loss at Minnesota. the Yankees only have a 1 game lead over Oakland now. thank god they are off tonight. they start the final homestand of the season tomorrow.

NXT was really good last night.

the Mae Young Classic was good last night.

Big Brother was good last night. tonight is double eviction night. Haleigh will go first and i have no damn clue who will get evicted next.

Lucha Underground was very good last night.

Mr. Mercedes was excellent last night.

American Horror Story was fucking great last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and Snowfall.

i did listen to episode 203 of Notsam Wrestling today. you can find that by going here:

the football game tonight is Baltimore vs. Cincinnati. i might watch some of it.

the rest of the night will probably be nothing but hurricane coverage.

i had a really good conversation with the muse last night. i do think our friendship is really strong at the moment. that's a welcome sight in my world, let me tell ya.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store.

it's hard to escape the bitter taste...

when the New Orleans Saints were down 17-0 yesterday, i wasn't happy. but, i still had hope. to watch the boys fight their way back in the game and eventually take the lead, i was beyond fucking thrilled. and then to watch them lose the way they did, i was fucking crushed. just one fucking tackle away from having a chance to play in the Super Bowl. i have understood the bitterness of losing since i was a child. this will be one of those losses that i'll never get over, like the Yankees losing in the World Series or the Rangers losing the Stanley Cup in OT. certain losses just stick with you and take years off of your life. i am very happy that Marcus Williams stood up and took all the blame for missing the tackle. he was a great rookie this season and has vowed that that play will never happen again. god willing, since the Saints are pretty young, they will all have the chance to amend for yesterday in the years to come. but, having been a fan of this team since 1982, i know that these chances are few and far between.

to put my mood in an even shittier place, the New York Rangers lost last night at Pittsburgh 5-2. just another game where they were vastly outplayed, especially considering the Rangers were up 2-1 after the first period. they play again on Tuesday at home against Philadelphia.

Shameless was great last night.

The Chi was excellent last night.

Divorce was pretty good last night.

Crashing was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

it figures that on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the asshole that pretends to be the President of this country would spend it on a fucking golf course.

it has snowed here most of the day. i went out and got the newspaper this morning before it got too bad. one of the guys in the neighborhood came over and cleaned off the driveway this afternoon. that was certainly unexpected.

Manchester United defeated Stoke today 3-0. the goals came from Valencia, Martial and Lukaku. and with Manchester City losing yesterday, United is now 12 points behind. more importantly, they are 3 points ahead of everyone else chasing the second spot in the league.

i was absolutely gutted to find out that Dolores O'Riordan died today at 46 years old. The Cranberries were one of those bands from the 90's that stuck in my head as soon as i heard her voice. i guess 2018 is going to be just like the last 2 years, shocking death after shocking death. joy. rest in peace, wherever you happen to land.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. 6 days until my birthday. i almost give a fuck.

yet another rainy day

i fell asleep around 3 last night. it was 4:24 when i first saw the clock. great. i knew it was fucking raining. i think i ended up with around 4 hours of sleep total. mom had an appointment with the eye doctor this morning. everything looked good. her vision has improved greatly in her right eye. hopefully the left eye will do the same thing in 2 weeks.

the New York Yankees only got 3 damn hits last night. Sonny Gray pitched a complete game, but he gave 2 solo homers and lost 2-1. great. Boston won last night so the Yankees are now 4 games back. they might want to win the division if they would like to avoid possibly playing Cleveland in the playoffs. the Yankees finish off this series with Tampa this afternoon. hopefully they will get a victory.

American Horror Story was fucking great last night.

Smackdown was excellent last night. a title change and what a lovely beatdown of Mr. McMahon by Kevin Owens. i think that Hell in a Cell match with Shane just got ramped up a few notches.

the final of the Mae Young Classic was very good last night. i'm very happy they had Kairi Sane win. she will get a chance at the NXT women's title at the next NXT Takeover event.

205 Live was really good last night. Breezango made a guest appearance to arrest Drew Gulak for fashion crimes. and i do love a damn good heel turn. hello Jack Gallagher.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lucha Underground, Mr. Mercedes, Big Brother, You're the Worst and Total Bellas. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i figure i'll spend this afternoon flipping between baseball and the Champions League while procrastinating about the dishes piling up in the sink.

hot and muggy, rinse and repeat

started the day off today with some thunder. not sure if that's a sign of things to come...

i had a pretty lazy Saturday. i think i caught up on just about all the sleep i could.

it was painfully obvious the home plate umpire last night was totally fucking annoyed the New York Yankees came from behind twice to force extra innings last night in Seattle. the Yankees had two strike threes called on them in the top of the 10th last night that were around the ankles. in the bottom of the inning, the strike zone was about the size of a penny. naturally, Seattle won 6-5. the Yankees will still have a chance to win the series this afternoon.

the USA vs. Costa Rica game last night completely changed when Clint Dempsey entered. one big assist and one big goal later, the USA won 2-0 to advance to the Gold Cup finals. the goal ties Clint with Landon Donovan for the most goals scored for the national team. hopefully he breaks it in the finals. this was easily the best the USA has played in the tournament.

ROH was excellent last night.

i did catch a little of the UFC last night.

Risk was fascinating last night on Showtime. i think i learned more about Julian Assange than i ever thought i was going to. i highly recommend it.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Ballers, Insecure, The Strain, Twin Peaks, I'm Dying Up Here and Power.

i will be watching WWE Battleground for most of the evening.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

happy it must be nice if you found the right one day

i started thinking about this today and i realized i have been single for 41 straight Valentine's Days. i'm sure a good number of them have been by choice but, especially for poetic purposes, a good number have also been the process of elimination. i have often wrote about being on the wrong side of that process. it's not fun. so, part of me would love to break this streak. but, part of me also understands i'd have a better chance of winning the lottery or brokering peace in the Middle East.

mom felt well enough today that she didn't take her walker with her when we went out and about. she also didn't use a cane. i made sure to be close enough to her that she wouldn't fall. hopefully this means her back is much better and now it's just about getting the hip better.

the New York Rangers won last night in Columbus, 3-2. that's 6 wins in a row. they next play on Thursday at the Islanders.

Monday Night Raw was spectacular last night. Bayley winning the Women's Championship was great. but, the best part of the show to me was Kevin Owens. i think him turning on Jericho now caught everyone off guard. that's why it was so fucking perfect. now, the badass that takes no shit, fuck the world, Kevin Owens is back.

Hate Thy Neighbor was very interesting last night. watching a gay pride parade in Jerusalem and seeing both sides of it was both good and bad. i love the number of people that are against hate. i hate the fact that some old man is taking poor boys and making them soldiers for their version of a religion. i thought the host made the best statement though. both sides love to talk, but neither of them listen. now everyone can understand why nothing gets done for peace in the Middle East.

Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis was brilliant last night. i'm not a huge fan of the band, but i am definitely a bigger fan after watching the documentary. the footage from Paris and the terrorist attack was amazing to watch. i'm not going to lie, i had a few tears during the documentary. i highly recommend checking this out.

the finale of The Young Pope was great last night. i didn't think i was going to enjoy the series but in the end, it was much better than i thought it was going to be.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, WWE Smackdown and Taboo. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the Dayton Flyers play at Saint Louis tonight. this is a game they MUST win and in doing so, the senior class will set the program record for most wins by one class in their 4 years. i'm really hoping to drink to that tonight.
