finally, a cool breeze...

it actually felt like fall when i went out to get the paper this morning. of course, it's supposed to be back in the 80's by early next week. joy.

the New York Yankees lost in 12 innings last night, 6-5 to Toronto. hopefully, they will get a victory later this afternoon.

Murder in the Bayou was excellent last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was very good last night.

Room 104 was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and ROH.

Manchester United is currently up 1-0 at halftime against Leicester. hopefully, they will get a victory today.

Ohio State plays at noon today at Indiana. i'm interested to see how Ohio State will play on the road.

i will probably watch a few more college football games today as well.

i did write five poems last night. i finally got the line that was stuck in my head for over a week out of me. i typed those poems up last night and i really think most of them are really good. i'll probably get some more poems out before the end of the month.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

i'll be on here early tomorrow.

that's all for me kids. call if you need bail money.

Friday the 13th and a full moon, what could go wrong?...

i wish i had two tickets to paradise right now. rest in peace Eddie Money.

the grocery store was a bit of a zoo today. mom had scroll of things for me to get. i forgot to get the vinegar she wanted. of course i didn't realize that until i got home. she said don't worry about it. i figure she'll make me go get it in a couple days. i only spent $10 at the liquor store. of course, between my pills and the food, that was around $180. asshole's tariffs are hitting us now. good times.
(quick update... mom actually moved some things in the cabinet and found some vinegar. that made me laugh, given all the times i was scolded as a child for not looking hard enough for whatever my mother or father sent me off to find, usually in the fucking junk drawer. good times)

the New York Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday in Detroit, 10-4 and 6-4. they start a series tonight in Toronto. the magic number is down to 5.

i did watch a little of Tampa's win over Carolina last night. to be honest, they both suck.

Big Brother was crazy last night. i guess Michie pulled off an elaborate lie and got Cliff and Nicole to change their minds and vote out Tommy. Nicole won HOH, so she's guaranteed to be in the final 3. Michie will need to win the VETO to have any damn chance to make the final 3.

Mr InBetween was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Murder in the Bayou, Real Time with Bill Maher and Room 104.

tonight is the start of my 25th class reunion. hard to believe i graduated high school that long ago. thankfully, i have no money, so i won't be going to any of the events. not that people will miss me or anything. i figured long ago my popularity in high school was due to drugs and alcohol.

i will be on here tomorrow before Ohio State plays at noon. i know Manchester United plays before Ohio State does, but it isn't on television, so i'll have to follow that online i suppose. here's a preview of that game, which i'm sure they'll fucking lose again.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

let's play two...

the New York Yankees got rained out last night in Detroit. so that means they play a doubleheader today. the Yankees magic number is down to 8 thanks to Tampa's loss last night. hopefully, the Yankees will win both games today.

NXT was really good last night. next week starts the live shows.

Big Brother was good last night. evil Nicole has finally appeared. it looks as though Holly might get evicted tonight. hopefully, that brings out a pissed off Michie.

the season finale of Songland was excellent last night.

the season finale of Snowfall last night was a fucking masterpiece. i absolutely can't wait for season 4.

In the Shadows of the Towers: Stuyvesant High on 9/11 was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother and Mr InBetween.

i did listen to episode 255 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
https://soundcloud.com/notsamwrestling/matt-tremont-notsam

i will probably watch a little of the NFL game tonight, Carolina vs. Tampa Bay, hoping that both teams lose.

i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store.

i have a line for a poem stuck in my head. i was hoping the sadness of last night was going to flush that out, but that didn't happen. i imagine at some point this weekend, i'm going to have to force it out of my head.

i have an ice pack and a massage chair with my name on it calling me. i figure that is where i will be for most of the afternoon.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

never forget...

i had a blog planned in my head... and then i just got the news that Daniel Johnston has died. one of my songwriting heroes. way too soon at just 58. thank you for the smiles my friend. rest easy.

i just got my laundry done before i started writing this. my back is killing me and i'm wiping tears. so, i have no clue how long this one will be.

the New York Yankees lost a crazy game to Detroit last night, 12-11. hopefully, they will win tonight, weather permitting.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

the season finale of Deadliest Catch was excellent last night.

Mayans M.C. was really good last night.

Mr. Mercedes was fucking awesome last night.

the USMNT and Uruguay finished 1-1 last night. i didn't watch much of the match.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, In the Shadow of the Towers: Stuyvesant High on 9/11, the season finale of Snowfall and the season finale of Songland. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network. i already watched NXT UK this afternoon. it was excellent.

that's all for me kids. i'll be on here tomorrow in the morning.

go tell someone you love them. i have some sadness i need to write out.

until tomorrow...

hello to 2019

so, we ended 2018 with 2.6 inches of rain. joy. the wind was so bad last night, i could hear shit blowing up against the new storm door mom put on the front door. i guess our outdoor thermometer finally kicked the bucket. the wind blew it right off the house.

thankfully, it's not as bad so far today, just sort of gloomy.

so, since Google+ and Google Hangouts are going to go away sometime in 2019, i figured i needed to find a new home. so, you can now find me here: https://mewe.com/i/jjcampbell

i also started up an Instagram account, but i'm not going to post on it until i get a cellphone.

that's the first wave of changes for 2019. there will be others.

the New York Rangers won last night, 2-1 against the Blues. The King absolutely stood on his head last night. that was the only reason the boys won.

team USA defeated Finland last night, 4-1 at the World Juniors. the win gives the USA second place in the group, which means they will play the Czechs in the quarterfinals. Russia defeated Canada yesterday, 2-1. that's why i was really happy with the USA winning last night. they avoid playing Canada until later in the tournament, if at all. the quarterfinals will be played tomorrow. Switzerland vs. Sweden, Finland vs. Canada, Czech Republic vs. USA and Russia vs. Slovakia. all winners advance to the medal rounds.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night, at least what i saw of it.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown.

i do plan on watching some of the Winter Classic today. Boston is taking on Chicago at Notre Dame. i always love the look of the outdoor hockey games.

Ohio State plays Washington today in the Rose Bowl. it will be Urban Meyer's last game as head coach. that's why i can't even imagine Ohio State losing this game.

i'm sure i'll probably watch some other college football games today as well.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in the afternoon. i don't think that game is on television tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a good time last night. i hope your 2019 is off to a great start.

the best thought you can muster at 4 in the morning

so, there's a part of me that is happy. happy with the misery in my life, because that is where all the good poems come from anymore. the majority of me is truly fucking depressed. when the muse, and that's the last fucking time i will ever call her that, told me yesterday that she would never respond to any of my messages again... that was a punch to my fucking soul. to have your best friend, the woman you talked just two weeks ago about marriage and kids with, to more or less stab you in the heart was a fucking death blow to me. and now, here's where i blow up her spot a bit. she likes to think of herself as a dominatrix. we had amazing, and amazing isn't strong enough of a word, chemistry when it came to phone sex. but, i get the feeling she thought i was a submissive person in real life as well. i'm not, i just have a rather peculiar imagination at times. i believe this is why she has burned nearly every fucking bridge in her life... she has to have servants around her at all times. not people taking care of her, but loyal subjects that will jump at the snap of a finger. she sadly takes this role into her real life as well. and imagine being in a very professional setting, say at a credit card company, and still having this mindset. now, i have no clue what crime or crimes she is accused of. at this point, since she didn't think enough of me to actually clue the one she said she loved in on it, i couldn't give two shits. so, in a since, i am back at square one. i have no best friend. i have no future plans of marriage. i have no muse. these things will either change or they won't. but, now i have two women that are mortal enemies and i will gladly enjoy all of my future success to spite them. it honestly did feel a little weird going to sleep last night without telling someone goodnight and you loved them. and it is in those quiet moments where the horror of your life comes into a clear view. loneliness is the only companion that hasn't fucked you over. in 42 years, it's the only one that pours a drink and understands that death is the only outcome that will suit everyone involved. and it's in the darkness where the light comes to die. and please, don't take this as a threat or a promise or my thoughts for the next few days. i'm simply beating the apathy out of me. driving a stake through the blackened heart and sampling the blood. pissing on the last part of the soon to be dead romantic in me and laughing at the misery. i'm sure i am close to snapping at this point. but the breakdown will be on the pages. and i can easily imagine a notebook being filled soon.

so my final words to her came around 3 in the afternoon yesterday. when i think of all the time i have wasted, pouring my soul out to her and having it shit on as my reward, my final words should have come to her about 15 years ago. and there will always be that voice in the back of my head, reminding me i don't get to have a happy ending. that the love i always dreamed about died when i was molested as a child. that is where the living part of life gets really fucking hard. but, when you realize no one fucking cares, it makes it easier to know suicide is not the solution i'm looking for.

when i find that fucking solution, i'll clue everyone in on it. the wild ride needs a few new passengers, at least for the shits and giggles along the way.

now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

so when Manchester United got down 2-0 yesterday, i wasn't surprised. the fact they made it 2-2 at halftime wasn't surprising either. sadly, neither was the fact that the game at Southampton ended 2-2. more fucking points dropped. great.

i did watch a ton of college football yesterday. the Alabama vs. Georgia game was easily the best game of the day. with Alabama and Oklahoma winning yesterday, i don't think Ohio Sate will make the playoffs this season. but, other than them playing down to their competition yet again last night, i did enjoy Ohio State winning another Big Ten championship.

the New York Rangers lost in Montreal last night, 5-2. they play this afternoon at home against Winnipeg. before the game, Vic Hadfield will have his number retired. sadly, that will probably be the best part of the game today.

Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night.

ROH was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Camping, Ray Donovan, Escape at Dannemora and Enemies: The President, Justice & the FBI.

since my football team isn't playing today, i might try to get some yard work done. we ended up with 2.3 inches of rain yesterday. that was in front of a warm front. it only got down to around 50 last night. the high today is supposed to be around 60. you know, typical weather for December 2nd.

i took mom out shopping yesterday. she wanted to go to the local drug store and grocery store to get a few things. i'm pretty sure she found what she was looking for.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. it will probably be between loads of laundry.

i hope everyone had a better Saturday than i did. i hope your Sunday is even better.

i guess it's really winter now

i woke up this morning to a fresh coating of ice and snow. it was fucking cold walking out to get the paper while still in my shorts. i guess it really is winter now.

the New York Rangers got outplayed last night by Dallas by a damn mile. somehow, the Rangers backup goalie kept them in the game and the team managed to score late to send the game into OT. there was no score in OT and eventually Dallas won in the shootout. the 2-1 loss may end up being the point that helps them make the playoffs at the end of the season. even if the most positive Rangers fan knows they didn't deserve it.

Monday Night Raw was really good last night. i'm hoping that Cesaro opened Vince's eyes last night at just how good he could be if they would give him a push.

Happening: A Clean Energy Revolution was pretty good last night. it really showed just how much politics will fuck up anything.

The Voice was excellent last night. i think i know at least two of the people that will be in the finals. i have no damn clue who gets the last two spots.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Voice and Drop the Mic. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i might try to do the blog in the morning tomorrow as i have to drive mom down to her financial planner in the afternoon. and then i think she wants to do some shopping south of town. so, that probably means i won't be home until well after dark.

as for now, i have to get the fucking trash picked up. i might as well get layered up. the fucking wind is biting today.

the season of draws continue...

i got home in time to watch most of the second half of the Manchester United game today. i probably would have been better off just going back to bed.

my fingers are crossed, but it does look like mom's hip replacement is on for next Tuesday. i wasn't exactly thrilled when we were told we had to be at the hospital at 5:30 in the morning. there's some nights i'm lucky to be going to bed at that hour. oh joy. in other hospital news, i have two cousins in two different hospitals for god knows what. good times.

i enjoyed 205 Live more than Smackdown last night and that's not a good sign going into a ppv on Sunday.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

i feel bad for Hunter on The Voice. he clearly got robbed last night. that being said, his career will probably be better off for not winning the show. the dude is way more talented than most of the other people on the show. i think the winner this season will either be Chris Blue or Lauren Duski.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Yankees finally got some decent pitching on a night where they were hitting the long ball. they defeated the Royals last night 7-1. hopefully they can make it 2 in a row tonight.

team USA plays team Finland tomorrow in the 2017 Ice Hockey World Championships.

the winds here today have been horrific. it's the kind of day where driving a SUV is a skill. the winds reminded me of being back on the farm, watching boards fly off of rusted barns and doors being ripped wide open. i don't miss those days.

mom actually broke down and had me turn on the air conditioning last night. it dawned on her that a house at 79 degrees isn't actually good for trying to sleep.

i might try to do some writing tonight. it's either that or hoping some baseball allows me to catch up on some sleep.

the Sacramento Kings finally had a draft lottery that didn't bite them in the ass and they will have 2 picks in the top 10 (5 & 10). god willing, in a deep draft, they will not fuck it up.

i made a trip to the bank this morning. mom paid me for the first half of the month. i think this black woman knows me now at the bank as she commented on me not having any rolls of coins with me today. she's a cute one, so i'll be sure to have some rolls the next time.

that's all for me today kids. now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

catharsis, sort of...

first, let me say that Every Brilliant Thing was amazing last night. i didn't know what it was about going into it, but i quickly knew it was about suicide once it started. i made the mistake of drinking while this was on. alcohol being a depressant already, oh boy, what a fucking ride. i absolutely love anything that can make me laugh and cry at the same time. for that alone, i highly urge you to check this out on HBO. now, while watching, i started to think about that i've had suicide in my head for 32 of the 40 years of my life. and part of me believes that's simply a byproduct of being inquisitive and a loner. another part of me thinks of how tragic that truly is. and when the guy talked about his mother's suicide last night, i started to think of the number of times i've been at that point. and why i haven't taken the next step? and then it was my mind racing to every time i think i take a step forward with my life, i'm suddenly dragged two steps back every fucking time. and part of me wonders how long i'll be able to keep this dance up before i've decided it's time. so, what usually happens is i end up in a really dark place mentally. last night was one of those times. now, sometimes amazing art comes from that dark place. sometimes i wake up in a pile of my own shit. and sometimes i wake up on the couch and the knives are under a bush outside (god i miss my 20's and tequila shots). last night, i ended up writing 3 poems in that dark place. i typed them up this morning and i really, really like them. i haven't decided where they will go, but i will certainly send them out sometime in 2017.

after i wrote those poems i actually got some sleep. damn near 6 hours, which is a fucking eternity for me.

team USA won in the World Juniors yesterday 6-1 over Latvia. thankfully, they got better as the game went on. they will next play Slovakia, which will be a tougher test.

i thought Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night, especially since it was the last show of 2016. i love that Braun Strowman is getting a push. he should absolutely be the next huge bad ass. plus, i'll never get tired of Jericho and Kevin Owens.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i will forever remember Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia. but, i'll remember her more for her books. she was a brilliant writer. rest in peace, you absolutely deserve it.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Ottawa. The King is out with the flu, so it's the backup goalie once again. hopefully the time off did the team some good and they can get back to winning.

a little advice for everyone out there. actually listen when in a conversation instead of simply waiting for your turn to talk. the world already has too many assholes in it. trust me, i'm one of them.

i have trash to do and my laundry to finish. my neck has been killing me all fucking day. and the weather can't make up its fucking mind what time of year it is.

good times.
