the house is down to 68 degrees. i believe it was in the low 40's overnight outside. the high today will only be in the 50's. my favorite time of year.
so, let's begin where we left off yesterday. i wasn't pleased with Manchester United getting down to Brentford 1-0 26 minutes into the game. it was a painful watch to say the least. right up until Scott McTominay came into the game. he scored in the 93rd minute and then the winner in the 97th minute. they really needed this win. and i hope this is the beginning of a much better future than what it was looking like was coming.
Ohio State started off like shit yesterday. as i told my mother, this always seems to happen anytime Gus Johnson is calling their game. thankfully, it didn't stay that way. Ohio State defeated Maryland yesterday, 37-17.
i did watch a few college football games yesterday.
WWE Fastlane was excellent last night.
AEW Collision was very good last night.
Austin City Limits was great last night. i have always been a fan of Rodrigo y Gabriela.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Billions, Power Book IV: Force and Last Week Tonight.
the New Orleans Saints play at New England today. hopefully the Saints will find a way to win.
i'm sure i will watch some other games today as well.
i did catch some of the MLB playoffs yesterday.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.
until tomorrow kids...

so, the New York Rangers played a pretty good Game 6 last night and Carolina played like they have all playoffs on the road. they stunk. the Rangers won 5-2. that sets up Game 7 tomorrow night in Carolina. i'm really hoping the Rangers play their asses off in that game and find a way to win. the winner of Game 7 will host Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference Finals.
there is a Game 7 tonight in the NBA. Boston at Miami, winner goes on to face Golden State in the final.
the Champions League final was pretty good yesterday. Real Madrid defeated Liverpool, 1-0. i always love when Liverpool loses.
i did watch a little of some MLS games yesterday:
the Yankees lost yesterday, 3-1. hopefully, they will win the series today down in that dump in Tampa.

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, The Man Who Fell To Earth, Ziwe, Gaslit, Barry and The Baby.
i didn't go up to Kroger yesterday as mom said the pills she needed weren't ready yet. apparently today, most of them are. so, i get to make a little trip when i get this done.
i do plan on watching some soccer today and most likely plenty of auto racing. i'm hoping Juan Pablo Montoya does well today in the Indy 500.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
so, everything i wanted to get done this morning had to be shifted to the afternoon as my back decided it wanted all the attention this morning. but, i finally got my shower done, shaved a little and have my first load of laundry going.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.
so, i was hoping to get the blog done before the Rangers and Yankees were playing this afternoon. of course, that didn't happen...
the New York Rangers pissed away chance after chance today and lost to Philadelphia, 2-1. they play tomorrow at noon at Washington.
the Yankees defeated the Blue Jays today, 5-1. more importantly, Luke Voit has a partial tear of his meniscus, so he's going to be out until June or so. that means Jay Bruce has made the team.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Tina, Saturday Night Live, Austin City Limits and ROH.
i'm sure i will watch some college basketball tonight while folding clothes.
i did write 2 poems last night. first poems i have written in 17 days. i really like both of them. i'm hoping i'll have some more to write soon.
i know that the Rangers and the USMNT both play at noon tomorrow. so, i will hopefully have the blog done before the games start.
the weather is nice enough today that i was able to turn the furnace off and open the house up a bit. of course, it's a full moon tonight and another line of storms coming. oh joy.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

i wish i had two tickets to paradise right now. rest in peace Eddie Money.
the grocery store was a bit of a zoo today. mom had scroll of things for me to get. i forgot to get the vinegar she wanted. of course i didn't realize that until i got home. she said don't worry about it. i figure she'll make me go get it in a couple days. i only spent $10 at the liquor store. of course, between my pills and the food, that was around $180. asshole's tariffs are hitting us now. good times.
(quick update... mom actually moved some things in the cabinet and found some vinegar. that made me laugh, given all the times i was scolded as a child for not looking hard enough for whatever my mother or father sent me off to find, usually in the fucking junk drawer. good times)
the New York Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday in Detroit, 10-4 and 6-4. they start a series tonight in Toronto. the magic number is down to 5.
i did watch a little of Tampa's win over Carolina last night. to be honest, they both suck.
Big Brother was crazy last night. i guess Michie pulled off an elaborate lie and got Cliff and Nicole to change their minds and vote out Tommy. Nicole won HOH, so she's guaranteed to be in the final 3. Michie will need to win the VETO to have any damn chance to make the final 3.
Mr InBetween was very good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Murder in the Bayou, Real Time with Bill Maher and Room 104.
tonight is the start of my 25th class reunion. hard to believe i graduated high school that long ago. thankfully, i have no money, so i won't be going to any of the events. not that people will miss me or anything. i figured long ago my popularity in high school was due to drugs and alcohol.
i will be on here tomorrow before Ohio State plays at noon. i know Manchester United plays before Ohio State does, but it isn't on television, so i'll have to follow that online i suppose. here's a preview of that game, which i'm sure they'll fucking lose again.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

i think i might have got 4 hours of sleep right on the nose when i woke up this morning to take a shower. we got to the car dealership before our appointment time. i'm a bit of an asshole about being late. i fucking hate it. mom wasn't feeling well, so she just had them fix the license plate and she would reschedule the oil change, etc. about 45 minutes later, we were leaving. it's been raining the whole damn day long. mom wanted McDonald's for breakfast, so i got some of that on the way home. and before we knew it, it was time to go south of town for her physical therapy session.
mom has been able to get around more and more without her cane. she's really making some progress. i'm trying not to be too worrisome and end up holding her back in any regard. but, i do get a little nervous when she gets a bit wobbly. the last thing i want to see is her fall again and have to get another hip replacement.
while she was in physical therapy, i wrote 14 poems. that gives me 44 for the month, i do believe. i'll type these up tonight while i've got the television on in the background.
after her physical therapy, we went to a late lunch. i might have actually enjoyed it more if i wasn't in so much pain from the fucking rain. i joked with my mother that if i ever start making real money, i could actually afford the good shit that would take the pain away. she laughed and said the shit that will end up killing you. i laughed and said like i haven't already had those dreams.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
The Voice was pretty good last night as well.
the New York Rangers lost last night to Washington 4-2. they play at Washington tomorrow night.
the New York Yankees won last night at Atlanta 5-1. i did get to see the mammoth home run Stanton hit. i have a feeling this is going to be a fun season.
The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling was excellent last night. i can't wait to see part 2 tonight. Garry was a big comedic influence on my sense of humor, especially when i was growing up.

team USA men's national team plays a soccer friendly tonight at home against Parguay. i'm hoping a bunch of the kids get to play and i'd love to see them play well enough to win. i won't be holding my breath though.
i don't know when i'll be on here tomorrow. i know i have to take mom to get her taxes done in the afternoon.
that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

mom got a tentative date for her hip replacement today. i'm saying it's tentative because if some insurance chaos happens in her favor, her surgery gets moved up 2 weeks. she was little surprised that it's now scheduled for late May. i wasn't. i figured it would be even later. so now it's my goal to make sure she doesn't self-sabotage this one.
i guess there is supposed to be storms tomorrow. it figures, about 3 good days of weather is all this area can take.
the New York Yankees bats went cold last night, losing 4-1. they did at least give themselves a chance for a big hit in the bottom of the 9th, but, that's baseball. hopefully they start another winning streak tonight.
the New York Rangers finally played 60 minutes of hockey for a change last night. that helped them finally snap a 6 game home losing streak in the playoffs. they defeated Montreal 2-1. that evens the series at 2-2. so now it's a best of 3 with 2 games being on the road. and the Rangers were the best road team in the NHL this season. hopefully that continues.
The Voice was good last night. a couple of the performances were amazing. i didn't agree with all of the ones that moved on, but that didn't shock me.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night.
Smackdown was a little weird last night. i'm starting to think that someone in creative is listening to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast as there is no other logical reason for having Jinder Mahal as the #1 contender. but, i do believe Charlotte vs. Naomi will be amazing when they face each other next week.
205 Live was really good last night.

mom wanted me to take her to the drugstore today because she didn't want me to have to go in and buy her feminine hygiene product. that made me laugh, especially when i had to point it out to her in the store. her eyesight is horrific these days. i'd love for her to get that checked before her hip replacement but i doubt that happens. and i wonder where i get my procrastination from...
i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the Europa League.

when you watch three teams you live and die with all lose within 21 hours of each other, it makes it nearly impossible to feel good about anything. food tastes like shit. naked women are ugly. all music sounds like babies dying. and being the crazy fucker i am, i find it hard to believe that i manage to handle the losses as well as i do. of course, if i lived alone and was still on the farm, it probably would be a different story. i most likely would be calling someone for bail money.
when i saw Sam Miller take an elbow to the face last night from a Saint Joe's player and the refs didn't call a foul, even after watching the video, i knew that Dayton had no fucking chance to win last night. it didn't help help that they were once again playing without Kendall Pollard. Dayton couldn't cut the lead any closer than 5 down the stretch and eventually lost 79-70. thankfully, they haven't lost two games in a row in a long time. they play at home on Saturday.
the New York Rangers actually scored some power play goals last night. but, in a cruel trick from the hockey gods, the Rangers penalty kill was god fucking awful last night. Chicago scored 3 power play goals and beat New York 5-3. they will hopefully get that loss out of their system tonight when they play at Toronto.
and that brings me to Manchester United. when i saw the manager said that he'd rather win the FA Cup than the Europa League, i feared that the team would assume his stupid fucking attitude. sure enough. it didn't help that David de Gea got hurt in pregame warm-ups. i'll give Sergio Romero credit though, if he didn't make some of the amazing saves he made today, United would have lost by 5 or 6 goals. still, losing to a team from Denmark that most fans in Denmark don't even know is beyond a fucking embarrassment. i guess i'm supposed to be happy that United scored an away goal. at this point, who the fuck cares. United plays in the FA Cup on Monday and then has the return leg of the Europa League at home on next Thursday. two more losses and i hope to fucking god that the manager and the fucker that hired him are... relieved of their duties. i almost typed something that would have probably got me arrested. good times.
thank fucking god that NXT and Lucha Underground were great last night.

i'm not sure when i'm going to be on here tomorrow. i need a fucking haircut, i have poems and bills to mail out and if the Rangers lose again tonight, i will probably have to do something "stupid" to myself to end the fucking losing voodoo going on. i can't imagine why i'm still single at 40.
i got some FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i will post the links in the music section.

i have avoided the tv for most of today. i remember what happened 12 years ago today, don't need to be reminded of it.
i was very happy the Yankees showed some life last night. a come from behind 7-5 win. of course, it wouldn't be the 2013 Yankees without some injuries. 3 more last night. how this team is 2 games out of a playoff spot is beyond me. hopefully they can get another win this evening.
most of my attention last night was on the USA vs. Mexico match. here are the highlights:
it's incredible that it has been the exact same score all 4 times they have played Mexico in Columbus in World Cup Qualifying. hopefully the team stays healthy and can shock the world next year in Brazil.
spent a good portion of this afternoon doing some shopping on amazon.com, using the link at notsam.com to help out this outstanding podcast:
the usual Wednesday night programming is on tap this evening. an eviction on Big Brother to get it down to the final 4. more hilarity on Duck Dynasty. hopefully the Yankee game ends in the 10:30 to 11:00 window. and then it's time for The Bridge. i absolutely can't wait to see what happens this week.
got the players i was targeting in my 2 fantasy football leagues. hopefully i picked the right ones.
yet another day in the 90's here. hopefully this damn heat breaks soon with a nice long rainstorm. i wouldn't mind some fall like temps.

not quite sure why i was up before the sun on a Saturday morning, but i was. figure i would bust out this post before this day gets hectic.
the New York Yankees won again last night, but it was a costly victory. lose the starting catcher in the first inning with a broken hand. lose the starting pitcher in the 3rd with a sore elbow (never good) and still manage to win 6-4. Mo made it a little too close in the 9th, but i'll take it. looks like the ghosts are going to have to work a little harder than normal this year for this team to even sniff a chance at the playoffs. of course, i'd rather have all these injuries now than in 5 months.
the New York Rangers play their final game of the season later this afternoon. i would prefer them to win this game and hopefully get a better playoff position. but mostly, i'm hoping they come out of the game without any injuries. they are a little too banged up as it is already.
i'm still trailing in fantasy hockey 6-4 as it's coming down to the last 2 days of the season. for me to pull off this miracle championship, i'm going to have to pull out all the stops. not much sleep for me in the next 2 days i guess.
the poet of the day on my Google+ page is Catfish McDaris. Catfish is one of the poets i always looked up to when i first got into this racket. it's good to see he's still going today. a quick search should give you plenty of links.
the NFL Draft got a little more interesting last night as some of the bigger name players started going. the look on my mother's face when the Jets took another quarterback was classic. i think not having a favorite NFL team may be one of my best decisions ever.
that was what i fell asleep to. perhaps i now know why i could only sleep a few hours.

i was going to do this blog post a few hours ago but my "high speed" internet (wink, wink) shit the bed once again. supposedly someone will be out here on Wednesday to "fix" the problem. so, once again Frontier Communications, thank you for the bullshit.
i'd like to welcome RvP into the Manchester United immortals after this weekend. go win the league and the Champions League and you will never be forgotten. and if you City fans ever wonder why i've always thought of you as worthless pieces of shit, the blood running down Rio's face should always be exhibit a. may the 6 points quickly become 15 and the world can forget about the blue turds.
won 2 of my 3 fantasy football matches. would have won 3 but my dumb ass didn't start the Patriots TE. that cost me, but that team still won the division. next week, the playoffs.
thanks to those of you who have let me know that my Christmas gifts arrived. after the week i've had with the post office, good to know miracles still exist.
my sister's last gift arrived so now it's all about deciding do i wrap the presents with the comics or the obituaries. decisions, decisions.
looks like the Yankees will be getting older in the next few days. there are times when i wonder why i bother.
thankfully, the Dayton Flyers have turned the season around pronto and things are looking promising once again. as i stated in the preseason, this team goes as far as Kevin Dillard takes it. thankfully, he's now understanding that as well.
looking forward to the 12/12/12 concert coming up. always good when i can just sit back and listen to music for hours and hours. torn if i should get the Rolling Stones PPV on the weekend. i've seen them live before (with Beck) and i'm not convinced this is really the last tour. but still, it's the Stones...
enjoyed the final 4 on the Voice. i'll be completely shocked if someone from team Blake doesn't win again after the performances earlier.

i was watching some European soccer, falling asleep, and suddenly waking up with Jada Fire on my mind. fast forward 10 minutes and i'm watching porn listening to Wu-Tang Clan. i love these afternoons where i throw what little discipline i have out the window and pretend i'm actually talented and have fuck you money. definitely takes the stress away. i'm not much of a Calgon guy.
between my opponents this week and myself, we have players on both teams tonight. so it looks like it's a NFL Thursday. after that and some late night television, more napping i suppose. i don't think i have slept well in over 30 years. tomorrow is a laundry day as well. between my back hurting in the rain and stooping over to put clothes in the washer, i smell fun.

so i flipped over to the Yankees game yesterday and saw that Kuroda was dealing (perfect through 6 innings). then i flip back to see Cano fuck up a double play which gave the Tigers their first run. i had the bad fortune of flipping back the next time to see a blown call at second base. and given that i have watched baseball my entire life, i know how the baseball gods work when an umpire fucks up the third out of an inning. sure enough, the Tigers score 2 more runs and eventually win 3-0. given that the offense is more or less dead, i'm not sure if he would have got the call right it would have meant much. but a little note to baseball, given the technology of today when everyone with any kind of device could see within 30 seconds that the call was wrong, wake the fuck up. if you wonder why the sport is becoming obsolete... god forbid you actually have a playoff game where the calls are correct. who the fuck would want that.
and another note, this one to Nick Swisher, who is hurt that Yankee fans are booing him. newsflash, you fucking suck in the playoffs. you've had 4 years of good to great regular seasons and 4 playoff years of complete fucking ineptitude. if you don't want to play in a place where the second season means everything, enjoy collecting a check in some other town next year.
if the getting out of Yankee Stadium excuse doesn't work for the offense, i'm hoping they just lose the next 2 games and get this fucking tease of a season over with. that way i can decide which minor league hockey team i'm going to follow (thank you NHL, you dumb asses) or god forbid, have to watch the NBA season from start to finish.
as for football, had my worst week of picking games in a long, long time. under 50% is absolutely shitty. i am winning my 3 fantasy football games, but i can sill lose 2 of them. that leaves me with no choice but to pay attention to the game tonight. great, 4 hours of Gruden blowing Peyton Manning. lovely.

let me start this by stating that i do have confidence in CC and that i do believe he will do his job. as for everyone other than Derek Jeter and Raul Ibanez, i have no fucking clue. last night's game pissed me the fuck off to the point where i didn't bother with turning on the tv for sports shit this morning. it wouldn't shock me at all if the Yankees spit the bit later on today and feebly exit the playoffs once again. wouldn't shock me if they somehow hit 6 home runs today either. it's one extreme or the other. nothing is consistent about the team at all.
to fill my time and brain this morning, yet another day spent on NoiseTrade.com. and i highly recommend the 2 albums * i downloaded this morning for free. i will list them in a bit. but, do check them out, you will not be disappointed.
not sure how i'm going to fill the next few hours before the Yankees play. i imagine i'll be watching some soccer or maybe a nap, or maybe both.
just in case the Yankees shit the bed later on today and i'm a bit too pissy to post anything, hope everyone has a good weekend.
