Happy Memorial Day

i hope everyone has a great Memorial Day.

i actually nearly slept until noon today. of course, i didn't go to bed until after 6 AM. good times.

the Yankees won yesterday against the Padres, 10-7. they start a series tonight in Seattle.

i did watch some of the Indy 500 yesterday.

NXT Battleground was excellent last night.

the series finale of Succession last night was great.

the series finale of Barry was fucking amazing.

the two episodes that ended the season for Somebody Somewhere were excellent last night.

the season finale of Yellowjackets was crazy last night.

the season finale of Power Book II: Ghost was really good last night.

Ghosts of Beirut was very good last night.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw.

i will probably watch a good amount of the NBA (Game 7) and NHL playoffs tonight.

i did go to Big Lots yesterday and get some baseball and hockey cards. one the cards in the hockey packs is a rookie going for over $25, so that maybe very happy.

Manchester United won 2-1 yesterday at home against Fulham. they finished 3rd in the Premier League and face Manchester City June 3rd in the FA Cup final.

i did listen to episode 449 of Notsam Wrestling today. you can hear it by going here:

i did catch some of the NCAA Lacrosse national championship game today. Notre Dame defeated Duke, 13-9, to win their first national championship.

the two best words in sports... Game 7

so, the New York Rangers played a pretty good Game 6 last night and Carolina played like they have all playoffs on the road. they stunk. the Rangers won 5-2. that sets up Game 7 tomorrow night in Carolina. i'm really hoping the Rangers play their asses off in that game and find a way to win. the winner of Game 7 will host Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference Finals.

there is a Game 7 tonight in the NBA. Boston at Miami, winner goes on to face Golden State in the final.

the Champions League final was pretty good yesterday. Real Madrid defeated Liverpool, 1-0. i always love when Liverpool loses.

i did watch a little of some MLS games yesterday:

the Yankees lost yesterday, 3-1. hopefully, they will win the series today down in that dump in Tampa.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, The Man Who Fell To Earth, Ziwe, Gaslit, Barry and The Baby.

i didn't go up to Kroger yesterday as mom said the pills she needed weren't ready yet. apparently today, most of them are. so, i get to make a little trip when i get this done.

i do plan on watching some soccer today and most likely plenty of auto racing. i'm hoping Juan Pablo Montoya does well today in the Indy 500.

a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:

i should be on here in the morning tomorrow.

welcome to the weekend

i got up early this morning and fed the birds. it was 45 degrees outside, so i didn't bother to water the plants. that damn cold front came through yesterday. i had to turn the damn furnace back on last night.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

AEW was pretty good last night as well.

Pause with Sam Jay was hilarious last night.

The Shop was very good last night.

the season finale of A Black Lady Sketch Show was excellent last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was good last night.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night.

the Yankees lost last night to the Tigers, 3-2 in 10 innings. hopefully, they will win this afternoon.

i haven't showered in 4 days...

the water facility here in Brookville took a direct hit from that tornado. the city called this morning and said they could have the water running again by tonight. in the same breath, they said you could get water for drinking and flushing the toilets at the new fire station. since we didn't really have any damage from the storm, i didn't feel right going up there to get water. i needed to get paper plates from the grocery store, so i decided to get the water there. one problem, the grocery store didn't have any. i had to drive to Meijer and get some. i got 4 jugs so we could at least flush the toilets. and, that would give me 4 jugs i could take to the fire station tomorrow to get more water in case the water isn't back up and running tonight. it's humid as fuck today. good times.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday, 5-4. they were down 4-0 before i could even get the game on last night. they are up 3-0 so far today. hopefully, they will win today and win the series over San Diego.

Smackdown was pretty good last night, as was 205 Live.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

Songland was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, the season finale of What We Do in the Shadows and The Wrestlers. i'll watch NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i do plan on watching some of that.

i might watch some of the Europa League final today between Chelsea and Arsenal.

i didn't go look at storm damage this morning. i have seen enough on the news for my taste. i think it was an EF3 tornado that touched down in the neighborhood i grew up in. i think a couple of the families that were there when i was growing up still live there. i know the people that lived next door to us had to get a tarp on their roof and won't have any power back on until June 3rd at the earliest.

and of course, there's a chance for more storms the next 2 days.

that's all for me kids. i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

let the fun begin...

the adrenaline is starting to flow, and honestly, after watching this, you'll understand why:

i will probably go through every fucking emotion possible tonight while watching the game. but, i fully believe i will be breaking out the hard shit celebrating a victory tonight. so, get it done boys. PLEASE.

the Yankees pissed away a lead last night and tried to comeback late but failed, losing 5-4 to Oakland. it figures, they sweep the best team in the AL, fly across the country and lose to the team with the worst record. they play again tonight.

the shows last night were pretty damn good. the season finale of Louie was more uncomfortable comedy. brilliant. i'm saving the comedy special that came on after the show for later this weekend. i was too in and out of it with the baseball game last night to give a good account of it. The Comedians was excellent. and lastly, Lip Sync Battle was pretty damn funny once again:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW. i'll probably watch that after the hockey game.

before my day got draining as hell, i was able to listen to this podcast:
definitely a must listen. check it out on notsam.com, iTunes, Stitcher, or the right hand side of this blog. and congrats to Sam on his show getting picked up daily on Sirius/XM and for his appearance on the Stone Cold Steve Austin podcast. i'm really happy that Sam is starting to blow up. he's paid his dues, that's for sure.

a quick music break before i describe my driving hell today:

mom decided she felt good enough to go into work today. she then decided she might as well head over to Value City to pick up the chair they didn't bring to the house. and since we had books to go to the used bookstore over there, fuck it, i'll drive. we first go to the hospital. that took way longer than it should have. mostly because mom isn't in good enough condition to constantly be on the go and women just love to talk, especially when one is in a hurry. after we finally got out of there, we went out to eat. that was better than i expected. plus, the waitress might have sparked a poem, so that's a plus. we went to the bookstore next. 3 boxes of books and magazines. my grand total for selling them: $6. that almost covers the gas to go across the county. oh well, that's more shit out of the garage. and then, off to Value City Furniture. after finding out where to go to pick up the furniture, we hit the bell. and then hit it again. finally after the 3rd time of hitting the bell, someone came to the window. we waited another 20 minutes for them to bring the chair out. now the kicker to the story, it's not put together. apparently, if you pick the furniture up, they give it to you in pieces. well, needless to say mom was fucking furious. the customer service lady offered to put it together. of course, by then we were 15 minutes away from the store. in rush hour traffic. so, guess who gets to put that together... good times. we had to go to the grocery store after that to return some lights and pick up some prescriptions. so, once again, another afternoon where i didn't take a nap.

i will be fucking spent by the end of this evening.

that is all for me. i hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. enjoy the warmer weather and hopefully some skies full of sun and not rain.

a hump day quickie

not much time to do some blogging today, so i figured i would do a quick hitter.

Deadliest Catch last night was great. looks like Jake has to put on his big boy pants. honestly, i would have made the same decision.

the Yankees once again forgot their offense. but, they had a chance to win and then hell froze over. for the first time in his hall of fame career, the hammer of GOD blew a save without getting an out. fucking stunning. the series shifts to Yankee Stadium tonight. not sure if i really give a shit or not.

game 7 between the Sharks and Kings was great. i had the Sharks goalie in my fantasy league, i guess i'll have to change that for the next round.

i did watch a good bit of the Heat and Pacers last night. i always wonder why officials think fans came to see the best player in the world foul out of a game. never makes any sense to me. and it is truly hard to watch a basketball game that has no flow. it sucks.

i was stunned at who got voted off of The Voice last night. Judith and Sarah (both from team Adam) were front runners to win it all. it's rather obvious that team Blake has the upper hand now. Judith was my pick from the beginning, so i really have no clue who is going to win now.

given the unpredictable weather (chance of rain for the next 4 days after today), i have no choice but to mow the grass today. that will be interesting as the temps are supposed to get near 90 today. so, my goal today is to get it done without having a heat stroke. and seeing that my sensitive skin will be covered with long sleeves and sweatpants, i see a few more water breaks happening today.
