what happens when the pain wins...

my arthritis has been killing me today. i believe these are the days morphine was created for.

so, let me start with the good news. the New Orleans Saints defeated Washington yesterday, 33-22. Jameis Winston threw 4 touchdowns, which made up for his two turnovers, i guess. the hail mary at the end of the first half was awesome. that happened just a little after the pizza mom wanted arrived. all in all, a good way to go into the bye week. hopefully, most of the injured players will be back after the bye.

the USMNT lost to Panama last night, 1-0. i'm not sure why they rotated the team as much as they did. i'm not sure why the coach waited so long to get Ricardo Pepi into the game. and honestly, the whole team was fucking naive about playing in Panama. so fucking frustrating to watch. hopefully, they will play much better on Wednesday in Columbus against Costa Rica.

the season finale of Heels was excellent last night. i really hope it gets a second season.

BMF was good last night.

Axios was good last night.

the finale of Scenes From a Marriage was really good last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

American Rust was excellent last night.

i told you so...

so, the asshole in charge did exactly what i thought he would do last night. declare victory before all the votes were counted. i thought Jemele Hill put it best on the Vice News Tonight election special. if Biden wins, thank black people. if Trump wins, blame white people. she is exactly correct. i went to bed last night hearing about the 4 AM Milwaukee dump of votes that could flip Wisconsin. i woke up at 6 to take a piss and sure enough, Biden was leading Wisconsin. and then right around the time i was making breakfast, Detroit flipped Michigan to Biden. the beauty of this is all us pussies who mailed in our votes to avoid the crowds and a disease that can fucking kill you, it looks like we will win out in the end. all Biden has to do is win the states he is leading (and i won't be shocked if he doesn't end up winning Pennsylvania as well) and he will get to 270. i can't wait for Trump to file all the lawsuits, demand all the fucking recounts, talk endlessly about it being rigged, and then fucking pout all the way to January 20, 2021. i honestly hope he decides he's not leaving office and then maybe we all get to see him dragged out of the White House like the fucking loser he is.

now, of course, none of the Democrats around here won. i live around a bunch of closet racists that love to have good shit but never want to pay for it. that's why the streets levy and the park levy failed here. i truly hope both go to shit.

mom and i watched The Jesus Rolls last night. i thought it was okay at best, it did make me laugh in a few places.

we also watched the Stephen Colbert Election 2020 special last night on Showtime. that was hilarious.

now, i didn't get to see much of the Manchester United game today. i did see they lost to a team in Turkey they have no fucking business losing to. i would be really pissed about it, but...

i happened to find some baseball and football cards while i was out today. i got two boxes of cards at Rite Aid, one of which included a nice hit (Henry Owens Bowman Chrome Autographed card) in it. at Meijer, i actually found some 2020 Topps Gallery. i bought two packs and a blaster box. in the box, i finally pulled a Luis Robert rookie card. i've been searching for one of those all damn year it feels like. the two football packs i got were on clearance. they were 2019 Score cards. i definitely got my money's worth today.

i love that the wannabe dictator running the show here wants all the votes to be counted in the states he's losing but wants to stop the vote counting in states he's winning. sounds like someone knows he's fucking lost and will be one of those one term presidents that no one will ever be fond for, expect for the racist lovers that will miss seeing their TV hero everyday.

all this truly makes me laugh. of course, i expect the dipshit to try to get the Supreme Court to fuck all this up and make him the winner, since that's why he packed the damn court the way he did anyway.

what his whole family is afraid of is honestly, going to fucking jail. and i love that someone has a $400 million loan due in 2021 and won't be able to pay it. might be time that someone has to put a hit on him. that's what happens when you fuck around with the Russians.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

how the hell do you confuse Toledo and Dayton?

now, i know it's a rhetorical question, mostly because the asshole that runs this country is fucking stupid and doesn't give two shits about anything other than himself, but how the hell do you pull a Ron Burgundy and simply read the teleprompter (clearly against your will) and say prayers for the shooting victims in Toledo, about 150 miles away from where the mass shooting in Dayton happened? i really hope his own staff is fucking with him, hoping the 25th amendment gets invoked so this shit show can be over, but i doubt that's the case. if the asshole has to be the smartest guy in the room, i can just imagine the fucking idiots he surrounds himself with. i did love what one person said online, how he said Toledo because he was hedging his bets on when a mass shooting happens there.

after seeing more about the asshole that killed 9 in the Oregon District, i think it's clear he's one of these fucking Incel assholes. he had a hit list, a rape list as well when he was in high school. i'm really happy the Dayton police put out the video of them killing him when he was trying to get in the bar to kill more people. now, i didn't need to have the candlelight vigil last night interrupt most of Big Brother, but i understand. between the KKK rally, the tornadoes and now this shit, i think this area just needs a fucking break.

i did write a poem today, mostly about all this shit. i typed it up and i think it's really good. i'll probably include it with some other poems when i send out the first poetry submissions of the month later this week.

the New York Yankees completed the sweep of Boston last night with a 7-4 victory. it was good to hear the Who's Your Daddy? chants once again. the Yankees start a series tonight at Baltimore.

the season finale of Euphoria last night was great, heartbreaking, exciting, etc. etc. i can't fucking wait to see what season 2 brings.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

City on a Hill was good last night, and then had a holy shit ending. loved it.

i got to see maybe the first minute of Big Brother and then maybe the last 45 seconds or so of the show. i know that Jessica is the HOH. i know she nominated Jack and Michie. Jessica also won the POV and didn't use it, which means one of the alpha males is going to be the first member of the jury house.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be the series finale of Divorce. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did get a good laugh last night when the governor of this state got shouted down at the candlelight vigil with chant of Do Something.

i got something like 5 pages of paperwork to fill out for my GI appointment later this month. why the fuck don't we have electronic medical records already?

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm hoping it's a day where i'm not in a fucking fog like today has been.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

and when the pain finally lets you fall to sleep at 5 in the morning...

and of course, the fucking phone rings at 9, you know, because the rest of the world operates on normal hours. i was just happy i got breakfast in me by noon. if we get any rain tonight, i think i will drown myself in CBD oil and just live with the results.

the New York Yankees won yesterday in Cleveland, 7-6 in 10 innings. the Yankees were up 5-0 after the second inning. the bullpen pissed that away. and then the defense fucked up in the 9th when the Yankees were winning 6-5. at least they won the fucking game in the 10th. the Yankees start a 2 game series at home tonight against the Mets. i'd love to see them win both games and start a winning streak again.

i only got to watch a little of the Women's World Cup yesterday and today. i do plan on watching all of the USA vs. Thailand tomorrow afternoon.

the USMNT shit the bed yesterday against Venezuela and lost 3-0. my fears about this team are coming true. and if they get embarrassed in the Gold Cup, perhaps the hierarchy will realize they need to start the whole god damn process over again.

here are your highlights from Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final. there will be a Game 7.

Axios was really good last night.

Big Little Lies was great last night, but way too short of an episode. and i can tell already, having Meryl Streep on the show is going to be fucking great.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

the season finale of Billions was perfect last night. and i can't wait for the next season.

The Chi was really good last night. that season finale next week looks great.

Our Cartoon President was fucking crazy last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

Game 5 of the NBA Finals is tonight. i will probably watch some of that. i do expect Toronto to win tonight, even if Kevin Durant plays.

i had to go out and get mom some money from her ATM this afternoon. of course, that's another town over. and then i had to go back to go to another town to get pills from the grocery store. and then drive back into Brookville and buy some lunch. in the car for over 60 minutes. of course, nearly half of that was in the line at Wendy's. joy.

i have to take mom to get her new ID card tomorrow at the DMV. i think she has come to grips with the fact she can no longer drive safely. of course, i'll truly believe it when she only goes for the new ID card and not a driver's license.

i'm hoping to be back by the time the USA women's soccer match starts. and then i'll do the blog after that is over.

i don't want to jump the gun, but it looks like mom might have won her social security disability back. of course, the insurance company called her and not her lawyer. mom saved the message and immediately called the attorney. i'm sure they are happy as well as they will get paid now.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

at least the weather is better...

i am slowly realizing i have to get more than 4 hours of sleep to actually function. sadly, it's not always possible. but, i figure if i manage to get 5 hours, i should be fine. i figure this is all a recipe to be dead by 50.

i got up this morning and shaved and showered. i figured that's a good start for a Monday. i had to go to the grocery store to pick up my medications and a couple things mom forgot to put on the grocery list on Friday.

i wrote 9 poems while mom had physical therapy today. i'll type those up sometime tonight i guess. mom's therapy on her shoulder is going really well. she has two more sessions and she'll be done.

i didn't have a chance to watch The Case Against Adnan Syed yet. i'm planning on watching that tonight, hopefully.

WWE Fastlane was pretty good last night.

Total Bellas was good last night.

the season finale of Shameless last night was excellent. i'm sad Emmy Rossum is leaving the show, but Fiona will be remembered forever.

Black Monday was really funny last night.

SMILF was good last night.

the series finale of Crashing was really good last night.

High Maintenance was excellent last night. their season finale is next week.

Last Week Tonight was fucking great, as usual.

Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen of Soul was excellent. i watched that this afternoon.

i knew there was a reason i was getting a haircut today...

i just watched the team i picked to win the national championship this season (Michigan St.) lose in the NCAA tournament. never good when my brackets can't make it out of the first weekend.

a little poetry news to pass on... i did get that wild hair up my ass, it was either that or a little too much alcohol and sent out 17 poems today. 6 each to In Between Hangovers and Midnight Lane Boutique; 5 to Horror Sleaze Trash. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

Manchester United advanced in the FA Cup yesterday 2-0. it was a rather listless performance. to me, it seemed like the mind fuckery going on with the coach to his players has the majority of the players afraid to fail. that's never a good thing. Lukaku and Matic scored the goals. they have played for Mourinho before, so they know his tricks. United will play Tottenham in the semifinals of the FA Cup next month.

the New York Rangers lost in OT last night against St. Louis 4-3. it does look like the kids like playing the role of spoiler.

ROH was really good last night.

Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Our Cartoon President, Homeland, the season finale of The Chi, Here and Now and Last Week Tonight.

the weather was finally nice enough today that i was able to take mom to get her haircut. i figured i would get mine done as well since i hadn't had it cut since December. as i told the lady before she started, my only hope is i look different than when i came in here. mission accomplished.

after we got done there, i had to take mom to get some cash out of the ATM. we ended up driving past where we used to live. i was pretty surprised at the amount of water damage in the area. hell, one field was still under water about a mile or so from our old farm.

i will be on here tomorrow after a trip to the bank and getting some gas. i think there's a chance of snow this coming week and then a quick warmup after that. joy.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

woke up and wondered what chaos awaits...

probably not the smartest thing to do... go to sleep after watching American Horror Story. it certainly makes something i don't do well even less comfortable.

the New York Yankees won again last night over the Twins, 5-2. they go for the sweep this afternoon.

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was pretty good as well last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show last night was fucking hilarious.

American Horror Story was fucking creepy as hell last night.

part 3 of The Vietnam War last night on PBS covered late 1963 to early 1965 more or less. i thought the most telling part was a veteran saying that the government knew the war was unwinnable in 1965 and he didn't go over until 1968. it was all a bunch of people trying to placate their fucking egos instead of admitting a mistake. i imagine part 4 will be just as heartbreaking as this one was. my only hope is that we, as in the we of humanity, learn from this.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lucha Underground, Mr. Mercedes, You're the Worst, Total Bellas, The Vietnam War and the season finale of Big Brother. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i'm really hoping someone other than Paul wins Big Brother tonight. of course, the way this season has gone, i will be absolutely stunned if that happens.

Manchester United takes on Burton today in the League Cup. hopefully they have a good start in their defense of the title they won last season.

i know mom wants me to help her with some paperwork today as well. plus, i think she has something for me to take to the post office.

the New York Rangers have another preseason game tonight against New Jersey. i'm hoping to catch some of that at some point tonight.

back in first place

Brett Gardner led off the Yankees game last night the same way he ended the game the night before, with a home run. the Yankees are undefeated this season in games that he hits a homer in. that streak continued last night against Tampa. the Yankees also got home runs from Judge and a fucking bomb from Clint Frazier. but the story of the night was the pitching from Masahiro Tanaka. he struck out 14 last night, to set a new career high. plus, he retired the first 17 batters of the game. all of that added up to New York winning 6-1. toss in Boston losing last night and now the Yankees are back in first place in the division. hopefully the good times will continue this afternoon.

NJPW was a rerun last night. i'm not quite sure why the DVR recorded it.

VICE was very good last night. i'm still amazed at the number of people who want to rape this earth until there is nothing left.

Room 104 last night was very interesting. the show was very dark. i can see why some people didn't like it as the humor was very dark as well. thank god i'm an asshole and enjoy that shit.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

amazingly, it's not supposed to rain this weekend. it might even be fucking pleasant. at least as pleasant as the weather can be for late July. i'll probably get out and fill the bird feeders at some point this weekend. if i get a wild hair up my ass, i might even do a little photography.

other than the little shopping trip with mom later this morning, i think this weekend is just going to be relaxing and catching up on sleep. that pretty much means i'll do nothing but write, watch sports and laugh at Big Brother After Dark.

i will probably be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in Norway.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday, even those of you on the other side of my political views.

and then all the hours start running together...

so when i last left you, i was on my way to the grocery store...

i first had to make yet another run to Rite-Aid for mom. thankfully, they had both things i was looking for. i brought them back home as mom was in the middle of a phone call with her surgeon. apparently mom's pain number was up at 9. even i know, that's not good. so the surgeon wanted us to come in this afternoon. more on that later. i had to go to the grocery store, but before i did, i had a nasty shit to take. one of those shits that i knew i will be walking around in the store and some sweat will run down my back into the cauldron of shit and blood festering in my asshole. (some artist in Sweden is smiling) while at the store, i wasn't able to find everything mom wanted, so i compensated the best way i know how; candy and ice cream. i got back home and got all the groceries put away and then mom told me i needed to go back to the store to get the better pain drugs the doctor ordered for her to take immediately. oh goody, so right back to where i just was. i figured since i was out, i'd get dinner as well.

i didn't sleep well as i know mom doesn't do too well when she has to take the "hard" shit. thankfully, she did sleep well and her pain level this morning was down to a 3. the surgeon sent one of his nurses out to the house this morning to check on mom and get a visual of what was going on. i guess the white stuff at the top of her incision was just some fatty tissue that got wet, nothing to worry about. mom's pain level got so high because she did too damn much in a day. walking back and forth from the kitchen to her bedroom a few times and then also to the computer and back. the nurse had to remind her this morning that she shouldn't be even trying to do that much walking until 2 weeks after the surgery. since mom's pain level was down, we didn't have to make the trip to the doctor's office today. thank god. i don't think we have enough drugs here to get mom through that car ride.

she's been more or less in her recliner all day today. they told her to let her incision air out some, as that should help the healing. hopefully she won't have her pain level shoot up any higher again.

i heard from my good friend Debbie last night. i'm amazed that she's still alive. she doesn't know for how much longer and i gave her (more or less) permission to die if she needs to. as i get older, i honestly see why so many people just need out.

a little poetry update... i heard back from Mark at Otoliths on my recent poetry submission. he decided to pass on the 5 i sent. so June is off to a good start; 5 published, 5 rejected. oh well.

the New York Yankees lost last night to Baltimore 10-4. they start a series in Toronto tonight.

i didn't watch much of Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final last night. hopefully Nashville figures out a way to win at home.

NXT was really good last night.

thank fucking god Lucha Underground is back. the show last night reminded me why i love professional wrestling.

the internet is going in and out at the moment. this is the reason why i should have never stopped smoking marijuana. i never was stressed out when i was stoned. FUCK.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals finally starts tonight. i really couldn't give a shit who wins, i just want the games to be close.

that's pretty much all for now. i need to figure out what i'm making for dinner and whether mom is going to eat in her room or saunter out to the kitchen table.

i'm sure at some point i'm just going to be too fucking exhausted to exist any longer. i'll try to give a little warning before that happens.

nothing quite like feeling your back seize up while walking in a grocery store

today has been one of those days that what ever could become a clusterfuck has happened.

i guess i need to start setting my alarm as i slept later than i wanted to again this morning. i had to get ready to drive mom to an appointment and didn't have time to eat breakfast. i didn't know the appointment was going to end up being a 2 hour meeting with 3 different people. so, we had just enough time to get back home, quickly eat and then go to the lawyer's office. that wasn't too bad at all. he's a big Dayton Flyers fan as well, so we talked about the coaching search for a good 20 minutes. mom got all her papers signed and felt much better about having that out of the way. she figured if she got the will updated she won't die in surgery. so, you see where i get my positive outlook on the world from.

speaking of the Dayton Flyers, the guy second on my list looks like he will be getting the UMass job. just fucking great. if Dayton hires the guy at the top of my list, Pat Kelsey, i will be thrilled. whomever they hire, it HAS to be the right choice. they can't have a coach that allows the program to regress at all.

Smackdown was great last night. i really can't wait to see their matches this Sunday.

The Voice was really good last night. now it's time for the Knockout round.

205 Live was good last night. i can't wait to see Austin Aries vs. Neville this Sunday. it should be AMAZING.

the New York Rangers lost in OT last night in San Jose, 5-4. at least they battled back and got a point out of the game. that point got them into the playoffs. 7th straight year in and 11 out of the last 12. hopefully this is the year they do something special.

the USA and Panama played a 1-1 draw last night in Panama. i was hoping the USA would win, but anytime you can get a point on the road in World Cup qualifying, you'll take it.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i must have twisted my back when getting out of the car when i went to get mom's prescriptions at the grocery store. hopefully a nice long visit to the massage chair and ice will do the trick.

as of right now, everything looks to be on schedule for mom's hip replacement. she definitely needs it. i'm really hoping that helps her back as well.

i don't think i have to take her anywhere tomorrow, so maybe i'll actually get some writing done.

that's all for me kids. i have a date with an ice pack waiting...

the silly season has begun

some people think of July 1st as Happy Canada Day. i think of it as the day the sports world goes fucking nuts and no names become millionaires because someone has to take the money.

free agency began in the NBA and NHL today. i did see the couple of moves the New York Rangers made. i don't mind either player, as long as they are depth guys and guys to help kill penalties. if either are being asked to be top 6 forwards, the GM is fucking nuts.
their best move of the day was probably naming Jeff Beukeboom as assistant coach. one of my favorite Rangers on that 1994 team.

but the thing that put the biggest smile on my face today was this:
i don't give a shit that he's 34. i don't care that he has one of the biggest egos i have ever seen on an athlete. the one thing the man has always done is produce. and Manchester United needs a guy who just fucking scores goals.

i was sad to see the news that Ryan Giggs is leaving Manchester United after 29 years. whatever job he does next, he will ALWAYS be one of the greatest ever to wear that jersey. be well Giggsy.

the New York Yankees won on a walk off passed ball yesterday, 2-1. i guess the sun can find a dog's ass two days in a row. they start a 10 game road trip tonight in San Diego.

Euro 2016 Update:
when Poland scored in the first 2 minutes yesterday, i was thinking it was going to be a great game. when Portugal made it 1-1 30 minutes later, i was really happy. what happened next was Poland played not to lose and Portugal played to win. as you might imagine, it turned out just like that. Portugal won on penalty kicks 5-3. today, Wales takes on Belgium. that should be a doozy.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. i guess i've watched the show long enough to even expect the twists now.

WWE Smackdown was pretty good last night.

the haircut went pretty good yesterday. the stylist said i looked completely different than when i came in. i told her that was the plan. we went to the grocery store as well yesterday as mom didn't want to go in the rain today. it was raining this morning and will probably do so again. at least that's what my bones are telling me.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and VICE.

the 15 poems i sent out the other day were received with some of the best praise i think i have ever had for any of my poems. it looks like i may have a new chapbook out soon. more info on that when the time comes.

mom got me some new clothes. they came in the mail today. i guess she doesn't want me to look like a bum when we're on vacation. little does she know...

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i know it's the 4th of July weekend here in the USA. enjoy the fireworks and the booze, a great combination.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

here comes a hard freeze

i just got in from taking down the hummingbird feeders as the "experts" have us under a freeze warning for tonight into tomorrow morning. i figure something is coming as my back has been tight all day long. good times.

mom decided she could drive herself to the doctor's office today. given all the other places she had to go, it's probably best i didn't come along. hopefully the x-rays on her wrist come back good.

the New York Rangers lost last night to Montreal 3-0. both goalies put on a show last night. sometime in my lifetime, i truly wish that the Rangers will fix their fucking power play. it has been bad for as long as i can remember. needless to say, i watched more football last night than hockey.

the New Orleans Saints defeated Atlanta 31-21 to give the Falcons their first loss of the season. that was fun to watch. plus, my fantasy running back from Atlanta got me plenty of garbage points so i was twice as happy.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Undateable, NJPW and one of my favorite shows from last season, The Knick.

i figure i will watch some of the hockey game i was supposed to go to tonight. i can't imagine what my sister will be like with two kids there with her.

i'm going to be lazy and just do a video today for Flashback Friday. that being said, it's a favorite of mine:

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i will be on here tomorrow after the Manchester United game against Everton. i have no clue if i will be in a good mood or not.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

waking up in a sweat

maybe it was the heat. maybe it was the underlying sentiments from my mother and sister. maybe it was death. maybe it was a sense that i'm entering a new chapter of my life. but waking up in a pool of your own sweat while the air conditioner and a fan is on overnight is a bit unsettling. of course, 45 minutes after waking up, i'm swallowing 2 pills of Imodium. good times.

the Cavs went cold last night and ran out of gas and Golden State finally realized they were playing in the finals. a recipe for disaster if you want Cleveland to win. Golden State won by 21 last night. the game really never felt that close. next game is on Sunday.

The Comedians last night was hilarious. i really think the show has found its legs now.

the Dayton Flyers got a good transfer from Bradley yesterday. best thing, he'll have 3 years left at UD. and he knows how to rebound. i have to love a kid who got 21 rebounds as a freshman. welcome to Dayton, Josh Cunningham. he chose Dayton over Illinois.

mom and i went to Waffle House for dinner last night. that could explain my morning.

enjoy some music while i think of something to say:

not that i actually watched anything late last night, but here's some funny shit anyways:

i have a busier than shit day ahead of me. before noon, i'd like to get to the bank and post office. after my chair arrives this afternoon, mom and i are going to the grocery store. we have the chance to get some heavy storms today on top of everything. tonight, i'm hoping to enjoy watching the USA women take on Sweden in the Women's World Cup.

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and VICE.

if i get a chance tonight, i'd like to get some writing done. i'd like to get enough poems to have some submissions to go for the next week.

that's all for me today. i need to get going. i hope everyone has a great weekend. if not, look in the mirror.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
