i sat at the car dealership for 3 hours today. now, i did get 4 poems written and went through 3 sticks of gum. after all that and $444, the Highlander was back to good. they had to completely replace the thermostat. there is a 1,000 mile warranty on it. so, i figure it will hit the fan when 1,001 miles hits. i'm going to type up the poems later tonight. after those 3 hours, i then had to go grocery shopping for the third fucking day in a row. i hate grocery shopping on Fridays. i survived, found just about everything mom had on the list. made it home in time to eat lunch at 5 PM. and people wonder why i always have a big breakfast.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage was good last night.
NJPW was really good last night.
the New York Rangers won last night at home over San Jose, 3-2.
the USMNT won last night at Jamaica, 1-0.
i did watch some of the Eagles win last night over the Commanders, 26-18.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.
i did watch the first two episodes of Say Nothing last night on Hulu. i'm hoping to get the rest of the series done this weekend. it was really fucking good.
i'm hoping to be on here tomorrow before Ohio State plays Northwestern at Wrigley Field at noon.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

today is the birthday of my dead father. i never have liked this day. probably never will. some scars just run deeper than others i guess.
yesterday was one of those days where hardly fucking anything went my way.
the only thing that did was in the Gold Cup. Canada defeated Costa Rica, 2-0. the USA defeated Jamaica, 1-0. i love what Matthew Hoppe brings to this team. he has a certain "fuck you" to him when he's out there that i wish more of the players had. so, now on July 29th, the USA will play Qatar and Mexico plays Canada. winners will face each other in the final on August 1st.
the Yankees were winning yesterday, 4-0 and Domingo German was throwing a no-hitter. he gave up a double in the 8th inning. no big deal. they pulled him from the game and the bullpen absolutely shit the bed. the Red Sox scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th and won the game, 5-4. i swear, this season can't fucking end fast enough.
the Red Scare forgot to play good defense yesterday and some key players couldn't hit the fucking ocean when they were shooting. they lost to Category 5, 76-69.
Big Brother was good last night. i truly hope Brent gets evicted this week.
The White Lotus was very good last night.
Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan was excellent last night.
The Chi was really good last night. season finale is next week.
Black Monday was fucking hilarious last night.
Flatbush Misdemeanors was good last night.
Desus & Mero was really funny last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i did listen to episode 353 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
i imagine i might watch some of the Olympics late tonight. it probably all depends on what is live at that time.
i did get my order from Carnival Baseball today. 10 baseball cards of hall of famers. i was hoping for some older cards, but i can't complain with what i got. the best cards in the two packs were a 1990 Topps Frank Thomas rookie card and a 1990 Topps Ken Griffey Jr.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
until tomorrow kids...

so, i had to go out and get some stuff for my mother today. i figured fuck it, i might as well try to find some baseball cards as well. no luck at either Rite-Aid i went to today, though i did find everything my mother needed. i went to Big Lots hoping i would find something. i found the cookies my mother wanted... as i was waiting to checkout, i looked to my left and saw an Upper Deck logo. i had never seen these cards before. fuck it, i bought 5 packs of them. 2019 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions. i didn't think much of the cards until i pulled 2 Luka Doncic cards. i looked those up on Ebay and they are going for over $30. well, shit. i also pulled a Wayne Gretzky card out of a pack that is going for more than $10. ok, that works.
i switched it up last night and decided to watch The Voice first and record Monday Night Raw. that way, i could fast forward my way through Raw and cut out all the shit that bores me these days. trust me, it was most of the show.
as for The Voice, i thought it pretty good last night.
the finale of The Investigation was excellent last night.
Beartown was fucking great last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Dark Side of the Ring: Confidential.
the New York Rangers play at Pittsburgh tonight. hopefully, they will get a better result than Sunday.
the Yankees lost today 6-5 to Detroit. and of course, just like the last 3 seasons, the injury train has begun. this time, Zack Britton.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

so, i was in line at the grocery store today, just finishing putting all my groceries on the belt to be scanned. there was a guy working the cash register and a woman bagging. i looked down for a second and then i heard someone else's voice. apparently, the guy's shift was up and the woman replacing him was my neighbor from across the street that i can't fucking stand. and then to top off this moment, the guy told the woman bagging the groceries it was time for her break. so, in a span of 5 seconds, it felt like i got fucked in the ass and someone else decided to shit down my throat, all at the same time. my back was already killing me, so i managed the pain while bagging. and of course, the couple behind me had to back up when i had to go pay. i'm totally fucking amazed at the number of people that just don't fucking understand social distancing. let's just say, today was one of those days i almost spent as much money on booze as i did food. good times.
i did watch most of that 5 OT game last night between Tampa and Columbus. the fact that the Blue Jackets goalie set the NHL record with 85 saves and they lost... when Tampa scored the winning goal, i just looked at my mother and said that was like a punch to the dick.
the Yankees tried their best to piss away a 8-0 lead yesterday, but held on to beat the Braves, 9-6. hopefully, they will win again tonight.
Portland defeated Orlando 2-1 last night to win the MLS is Back tournament. it was a pretty even game for the most part. i do think the better team won.
Hard Knocks was good last night. it was a little shocking at the beginning when the Chargers coach told his players that he had COVID. i did like what the teams tried to do to keep some social distancing.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, NXT, AEW and Yusuf Hawkins: Storm Over Brooklyn.
i figure i'll probably watch some NHL and NBA tonight in the commercial breaks.
i'll be on here tomorrow after i take mom to the dentist. the one she had for years retired so she finally found one in town that she thinks she will like.
that's all for me kids. i have a bad back to go ice down.

i woke up this morning with a horrible pain in my neck. i figured i had slept wrong or something. i then opened up the blinds in the kitchen and saw it was raining. or it could be that i thought. the damn rain gets my arthritis raging inside of me. but, as i have done for 41 years now, just plow through the fucking pain and get on with it. i had laundry to do, which gets harder and harder since i can't stand for long periods of time any longer. nothing quite like folding a t-shirt while it feels like your left leg is about to break. as usual, just turn up the music louder and get it over with. thankfully, my laundry is done now.
the New York Rangers were grossly outplayed last night by New Jersey. the fact that the game got to OT was simply due to The King. he had 45 damn saves last night as the Rangers lost to the Devils in a shootout, 4-3. of course, it was an ex-Rangers player that did them in, Brian Boyle. it never fails.
the Rangers play tomorrow night at Toronto.
Young Sheldon was pretty good last night.
Life in Pieces was fucking hilarious last night.
A Saturday Night Live Christmas Special was funny as well last night. those skits seemed to lift my mood a bit.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight.
neither my mom or i really felt like going to the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow afternoon. it's supposed to be snowing or sleeting at that time and i figured arthritis would keep us from enjoying anything. thankfully, my cousin can use the tickets. they are coming over in the morning to get the tickets and parking pass. i told mom to tell them to think of it as an early Christmas gift. Dayton should win the game. if they lose to Wagner, this season is going to be even longer than i feared.
that game will be on at the same time that Manchester United is playing tomorrow.
i will probably be on here after those games are over.
by not going to the game, we will have plenty of time to pack the car and know exactly how much room we do or don't have before we leave Sunday morning to go to my sister's house up in the Columbus area.
i'm not looking forward to driving in the snow. and i'm trying to do my best to try to enjoy the holiday once i get up there. of course, if the New Orleans Saints lose on Sunday, all bets are off.
i'm going to try to do some writing tonight. if that happens, i'll have news in the blog tomorrow of some poems being typed up in the morning.
if you have already started your travels for the holiday, be safe. if you're smart and having it at your place, enjoy a nice glass of something strong.

Brett Gardner led off the Yankees game last night the same way he ended the game the night before, with a home run. the Yankees are undefeated this season in games that he hits a homer in. that streak continued last night against Tampa. the Yankees also got home runs from Judge and a fucking bomb from Clint Frazier. but the story of the night was the pitching from Masahiro Tanaka. he struck out 14 last night, to set a new career high. plus, he retired the first 17 batters of the game. all of that added up to New York winning 6-1. toss in Boston losing last night and now the Yankees are back in first place in the division. hopefully the good times will continue this afternoon.
NJPW was a rerun last night. i'm not quite sure why the DVR recorded it.
VICE was very good last night. i'm still amazed at the number of people who want to rape this earth until there is nothing left.
Room 104 last night was very interesting. the show was very dark. i can see why some people didn't like it as the humor was very dark as well. thank god i'm an asshole and enjoy that shit.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.
amazingly, it's not supposed to rain this weekend. it might even be fucking pleasant. at least as pleasant as the weather can be for late July. i'll probably get out and fill the bird feeders at some point this weekend. if i get a wild hair up my ass, i might even do a little photography.
other than the little shopping trip with mom later this morning, i think this weekend is just going to be relaxing and catching up on sleep. that pretty much means i'll do nothing but write, watch sports and laugh at Big Brother After Dark.
i will probably be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in Norway.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday, even those of you on the other side of my political views.

the wind has been ferocious for all of today. figures, it's trash day.
i sent out 15 poems this morning, 5 each to Synchronized Chaos, Your One Phone Call and 48th Street Press. when i hear back from these places i will pass on the verdicts.
i have a fucking headache at the moment, so i'm going to try to write this as quickly as i can.
the New York Yankees lost last night to Toronto 7-1. hopefully the offense can come back alive tonight.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. the main event was much better than the rest of the show. hats off to Seth Rollins, Finn Balor and The Miz for a very memorable main event that also included run ins from Bray Wyatt and Samoa Joe. i thought starting off the show with the women for the first hour was very nice as well.
Gotham was great last night.
The Voice was really good last night. the talent this season is pretty damn deep.
i have no damn clue who will get voted off tonight.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Smackdown and Deadliest Catch. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the New York Rangers play Game 3 against Ottawa tonight at home. this is a MUST WIN game. hopefully the players and the coach understands that.
after i went to the bank today, i did another round of grocery shopping. i figured it was going to be expensive since i was getting prescriptions, vitamins, etc. it was only a little bit over $100, so i was pretty happy about that. of course, i figure i'll be going back by the end of the week.
my mother found out today her hip replacement has been moved up a week from the original date. i know that makes my sister happy, as she doesn't have to change any plans now.
i still have trash to pick up here and next door, plus dishes to do, so that's all for me kids.

i did make a trip out to Menards today after i got back home from taking mom to the dentist. $140 later, i was on my way home. now the way i go there, i go past the road one of my ex-girlfriends used to live on. that always brings up the weirdest thoughts. the one today was the thought that the woman i really think i was meant to be with is a lesbian. what a cruel fucking trick.
so, the attacker yesterday in the UK was 52 years old and born in Kent. but, since he had a Muslim name, it doesn't matter where he was born. i was watching a segment on Vice News Tonight last night about this guy in Belgium that helps to de-radicalize young men in Belgium. he said that these people believe since they are treated less than human by society they are only doing back to society what it deserves. imagine that. if we actually treated people that were different than us with just an ounce of fucking respect, there's a decent chance the world wouldn't be the shit hole it is now. who knew?
the New York Rangers lost again last night, this time to the fucking Islanders, 3-2. that's the 7th straight loss at home and they blew a third period lead in this one. they are back on the road for the next few games, a trip out west late in the season. hopefully they remember they haven't clinched a fucking playoff spot just yet.
NXT was really good last night. there Takeover event in Orlando next week should be really good, as usual.
i did watch a good portion of the World Baseball Classic last night. it's about damn time the USA won it.
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and the season finale of Baskets.
i will probably watch some college basketball tonight. lord knows i filled out plenty of second chance brackets yesterday.
i'll be on here tomorrow, probably after a trip to the grocery store. and i believe the physical therapist that will be working with mom after her surgery is coming to check out the house tomorrow; to see what needs to be changed or fixed so mom can do her recovery here, instead of a nursing home. good times.
i might do a little writing tonight. i had some words floating around my head when i was sitting in the waiting room of the dentist today.
