history was made...

i did watch Alex Ovechkin break Wayne Gretzky's goal scoring record yesterday when he scored his 895th goal. to me, the best part of the game was that the Capitals lost, 4-1.

the Yankees lost at the Pirates yesterday, 5-4, in 11 innings. they start a series this afternoon at Detroit.

the season finale of The White Lotus was crazy last night.

The Righteous Gemstones was hilarious last night.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

Yellowjackets was fucking insane last night. the season finale next week should be bonkers.

The Americas was very good last night. that season finale is next week.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice. i'll watch Monday Night Raw sometime tonight on Netflix.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Tampa Bay.

Manchester United and Manchester City played a 0-0 draw yesterday. at least i was able to get a good nap in.

the national championship game in college basketball is tonight between Florida and Houston. i'll keep track of that on my phone.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i will be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her dermatologist's appointment.

here are your two videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

i need to get ready to take mom to her doctor's appointment today...

a trip down memory lane...

i completely forgot the Yankees play this afternoon, so i thought i should at least try to get the blog done early today.

so, the Rangers decided they were going to show some toughness last night, even though they aren't built that way. there was 6 fights in the game in the first 5 minutes or so. hats off to Brendan Smith for going after Tom Wilson. hats off to Buchnevich for a sneaky little slash on Wilson that i hope broke his fucking hand. the Rangers lost the game, 4-2. they play tonight at Boston, at least whoever doesn't get suspended from last night's game.

the Yankees defeated the Astros last night, 6-3. they go for the sweep this afternoon.

The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.

AEW was fucking crazy as well last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon, B Positive, The United States of Al, Clarice, Desus & Mero and Dark Side of the Ring. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on Peacock.

Manchester United plays at Roma today in the Europa League. they won the first leg 6-2, so United should make it to the finals.

it is supposed to rain today. i'm not looking forward to that.

i have no clue what time i will be on here tomorrow.

why does misery feel so fucking familiar?...

i knew there was always a chance that my old friend misery would come to meet me last night. sure enough, misery rested her head on my shoulder and started to laugh. good times.

the New Orleans Saints lost last night, 30-20. just too many fucking turnovers, which Tampa turned into touchdowns. i fully believe that was Drew Brees last game with the Saints. that made me pretty fucking emotional, as i remember all the fucking losing before he got there. but, that's 4 years in a row where i thought they really had a chance to make a run to another Super Bowl. oh well.

Manchester United played Liverpool to a 0-0 draw yesterday. i didn't see the match, but i did see the highlights. it would have been great if United would have won, but i will take the point for sure.

at least the Dayton Flyers did win yesterday. they defeated George Washington, 67-54.

Batwoman was good last night. i was curious to see how they would make the change in the lead role since Ruby Rose left the show. i thought they did a pretty good job of making it work.

Shameless was excellent last night.

Your Honor was crazy fucking good last night.

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening. i'll probably flip over to the NBA or NHL during commercials.

it has been snowing on and off for a couple of days now. nothing is really sticking, so that's good.

i have my eye appointment tomorrow afternoon. i'm hoping my eyes aren't any worse than they already are.

if all goes well, i should be on here after i get home from that.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i finally found what i was looking for...

i had to go out and get my prescription today, so i figured i would look for some baseball cards at the Rite-Aid near the Kroger where the pharmacy i use is. well, holy shit. i found some baseball cards, some football cards and some basketball cards. this is the first time i have ever found these basketball cards. and sure enough, the Obi Toppin rookie card i had been looking for, i found in one of the packs.

the New Orleans Saints played down to their competition yesterday and fucking lost to a shitty Eagles team, 24-21. and since Green Bay won, the Saints no longer have the #1 seed in the NFC. just fucking great.

Power Book II: Ghost was really good last night.

Shameless was hilarious last night.

Your Honor was really good last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking great last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, night 1 of the season finale of The Voice and Industry. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i've been up since 5 this morning. i got mom to her appointment on time, at least the time she thought it started. she was supposed to be there a hour before that time. thankfully, her colonoscopy went smoothly. the doctor didn't see any polyps this time. i got her some food after the appointment and she has more or less slept the rest of the day. i haven't been so lucky.

i'm toying with doing the grocery shopping tomorrow since we're supposed to have a winter storm on Wednesday.

not how i wanted to start my weekend...

so, i didn't get to the phone in time this morning for the nurse's call. i waited and then listened to the message for the number to call her back. of course, the number she left wasn't the right number. eventually, she did call back and we went through my medical history. apparently, i was supposed to stop taking my vitamin i take each morning and another pill i take in the morning a week before the procedure. of course, i didn't know that until this morning. joy. and, i could tell from her tone that she isn't thrilled with my medical history, so now on Monday, i have to go get some blood work done and have an EKG. all that will be done at a place i have never been before. at 9 in the fucking morning. joy. i'm just waiting for them to tell me i can't have the procedure after these tests. i am so fucking livid with this shit anymore. at least the email the nurse said she was going to send me was actually in my email this morning. that's the first time any of this has gone as planned.

the New York Rangers lost last night in Ottawa, 4-1. it figures, they play down or up to their competition each game. they play tonight in Montreal.

Smackdown was crazy last night.

Room 104 was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH, Saturday Night Live, Bluegrass Underground, Us and Lil Rel Howery: Live in Crenshaw. i'll be watching NXT Takeover: War Games for most of the evening.

Ohio State plays Penn State today in their final home game of the season. i'm hoping Ohio State wins today.

i'm sure i'll probably watch some other college football games today as well.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

looks like hell is frozen...

i haven't even bothered attempting to go outside yet. when i woke up this morning it was -7 degrees with a windchill around -40 or so. mom already cancelled her doctor's appointment, not so much for the cold but that injection still has her in a funk. i figured i would get this done before i put on 4 or 5 layers and see if they picked up the trash or the mail and/or paper was delivered. good times.

the Dayton Flyers won last night over Saint Joe's, 75-64.

the New York Rangers lost last night, 1-0 to Philadelphia. oh well.

Smackdown was pretty good last night, but could have been much, much better.

205 Live was pretty good last night as well.

i had an interesting conversation late last night with a former adult film star. at least, that's who she said she was. i'm taking it with a grain of salt, that's for sure. but, i'm pretty sure there will be poems.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i'm getting ready to go outside now and hopefully be back inside within 10 damn minutes.

getting used to not seeing the sun anymore...

i did type up the 3 poems i wrote the other day last night. they are really good. i should get out another round of submissions before Thanksgiving, but should and reality are two different beasts.

i had to go out to the local grocery store to get a few things for mom today. i forget just how gloomy this fucking area gets when fall and winter comes around. joy.

Smackdown was fucking amazing last night. when Becky Lynch chose Charlotte to replace her against Ronda Rousey this Sunday at Survivor Series, i quickly had thoughts of what is coming next. setting up the 4 horsewomen of WWE against the 4 horsewomen of MMA. yes please. and then came the stunning heel turn by Daniel Bryan (thank god) and winning the title from AJ Styles. that sets up a match i never thought i would see this Sunday, Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar. well, it looks like i will be watching Survivor Series after all. holy shit.

The Voice was good last night. i really don't have any complaints about who moved on and who got sent home. all my favorites are still on the show.

The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.

i did watch both episodes of NXT UK this afternoon. they were very good.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Total Divas and the season finale of American Horror Story. i'll watch 205 Live and NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the weather is supposed to get shitty here tonight; freezing rain, ice, god knows what else. eventually, it will turn over to rain sometime tomorrow afternoon. so, i figure tomorrow is going to be laundry day.

my imagination is on fire...

i have been up since 6:35 this morning. that probably means i'm going to have a spectacular burnout tonight. joy.

i realized today i wrote 66 damn poems in April. and my first poem wasn't written until April 6th. i took my little notebook along with me this morning for mom's physical therapy session. i wrote 17 poems while there. i wrote one in my head on the way back home. and when i got home, i noticed there was only 3 damn blank pages left to the notebook. so i wrote 3 more at home for a grand total of 21 for today. that means i have written 87 fucking poems in under a month. i can't wait to see how many actually get published.

the weather here today has been great. 80 and not that humid. i actually got outside and filled the bird feeders. i figured i better get some sun while i can.

mom wanted to eat breakfast at First Watch after her physical therapy. it was a little hipster like, but the food was really good. now, it was way more expensive than it should be, but that's the fucking price of anything fresh anymore.

the New York Yankees lost last night at Houston, 2-1. that snapped their winning streak. i'm not expecting them to do well in this series. Houston has the best pitching staff in the majors. and good pitching usually beats good hitting. they play again tonight.

The Voice was really fucking good last night. i have no damn clue who is going home tonight.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night. the match between Seth Rollins and Finn Balor was great once again.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Voice, Deadliest Catch and The Jim Jefferies Show. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs last night:

at some point this week i do need to get another batch of poems ready to send out. if anyone knows of any place i should be sending to, feel free to send me an email or message me on the blog or at Google Hangouts.

that's all for me today kids.

these rainy days will kill me eventually

i woke up this morning with a horrible pain in my neck. i figured i had slept wrong or something. i then opened up the blinds in the kitchen and saw it was raining. or it could be that i thought. the damn rain gets my arthritis raging inside of me. but, as i have done for 41 years now, just plow through the fucking pain and get on with it. i had laundry to do, which gets harder and harder since i can't stand for long periods of time any longer. nothing quite like folding a t-shirt while it feels like your left leg is about to break. as usual, just turn up the music louder and get it over with. thankfully, my laundry is done now.

the New York Rangers were grossly outplayed last night by New Jersey. the fact that the game got to OT was simply due to The King. he had 45 damn saves last night as the Rangers lost to the Devils in a shootout, 4-3. of course, it was an ex-Rangers player that did them in, Brian Boyle. it never fails.
the Rangers play tomorrow night at Toronto.

Young Sheldon was pretty good last night.

Life in Pieces was fucking hilarious last night.

A Saturday Night Live Christmas Special was funny as well last night. those skits seemed to lift my mood a bit.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight.

neither my mom or i really felt like going to the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow afternoon. it's supposed to be snowing or sleeting at that time and i figured arthritis would keep us from enjoying anything. thankfully, my cousin can use the tickets. they are coming over in the morning to get the tickets and parking pass. i told mom to tell them to think of it as an early Christmas gift. Dayton should win the game. if they lose to Wagner, this season is going to be even longer than i feared.

that game will be on at the same time that Manchester United is playing tomorrow.

i will probably be on here after those games are over.

by not going to the game, we will have plenty of time to pack the car and know exactly how much room we do or don't have before we leave Sunday morning to go to my sister's house up in the Columbus area.

i'm not looking forward to driving in the snow. and i'm trying to do my best to try to enjoy the holiday once i get up there. of course, if the New Orleans Saints lose on Sunday, all bets are off.

i'm going to try to do some writing tonight. if that happens, i'll have news in the blog tomorrow of some poems being typed up in the morning.

if you have already started your travels for the holiday, be safe. if you're smart and having it at your place, enjoy a nice glass of something strong.

miracles do exist...

when the New Orleans Saints were down 15 with less than 3 minutes left yesterday, i wanted to stay optimistic, but i figured the winning streak was coming to an end. then, Drew Brees remembered he's one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. the Saints tied the game at 31. the defense finally started to get some stops and the Saints eventually won in OT, 34-31. i never saw them being 8-2 at this point of the season. they will have a pretty big test next week on the road at the Rams.

the Dayton Flyers showed their youth yesterday against Old Dominion. they got killed on the boards and they settled for way too many jump shots. i believe in 4 games this season, they have already tried 100 three pointers. that's truly fucking insane. they don't shoot well enough to even justify the thought. they lost yesterday 75-67. they play again at home on Saturday against Akron.

the New York Rangers won last night 3-0 over Ottawa. i watched the highlights and enjoyed a drink as well.

WWE Survivor Series was pretty good last night. i liked most of the show. and i think most of it went the way i would have done it. the ending of HHH screwing Kurt Angle and then getting the shit beat out of him by Braun Strowman should make Monday Night Raw pretty interesting tonight.

i finally got to see ROH last night. it was excellent.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was really funny last night. just two more episodes left.

Shameless was excellent last night.

SMILF was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Baltimore Rising and David Letterman: The Mark Twain Prize. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i had to take mom out shopping today. there just happened to be a new dollar store close to where she had to go pick up something she ordered online. we found plenty of shit at the dollar store.

i got the gift card to Amazon.com i ordered with my reward points in the mail today. so, i might get my damn Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving this year.

there was a stray cat walking up our driveway when mom and i got home from shopping today. i laughed and sped up the car. i find it kind of funny that after all those years and stray cats on the farm, we move to the suburbs and sure enough, another damn stray cat finds us.

i will be on here tomorrow after grocery shopping. i believe i have to get the fresh stuff mom wants to make Thanksgiving dinner with.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

almost felt good to shovel snow again, almost...

we got a couple of inches of snow overnight, along with some wind. the firefighter that lives on our street comes by and cleans off the driveways and sidewalks. he usually does that in the morning. the wind didn't stop until this afternoon, when something called the sun came out. so, before that thing called the sun went back down, i shoveled the driveway and got the trash out. it felt good to get some cold air into the lungs and work up a little bit of a sweat. and thankfully, i didn't slip and fall on my ass.

but, mom and i decided we didn't want to fuck around with the ice and cold tonight, so we're not going to the Dayton Flyers basketball game. i imagine if it wasn't on tv, we would be going though.

i was interested to see how Manchester United would play today. when they got up 2-0 on Newcastle, i was thinking things were going to be good. silly me. when a great goal from Wayne Rooney (his second of the game) put them up 3-2, i was thinking they would win. silly me. sure, a 3-3 draw on the road is better than a loss to yet another team fighting relegation, but it certainly doesn't feel good. this is quickly turning into another season of what could have been.

Monday Night Raw was decent last night up until the main event. i enjoyed Kalisto winning the US title and the ongoing war between Kevin Owens and Dean Ambrose. but, they buried Roman Reigns once again by showing that he couldn't beat Kevin Owens as easily as the average fan thinks he could. by the end of the match, Roman was getting booed and Kevin was getting cheers. now, if they are planning on putting the title on KO, i'm all for it, but i highly doubt that's happening. and then to have Brock Lesnar come out and destroy everyone, including the champion, it was just too fucking obvious to make much sense. what could have been a really good show ends up feeling mediocre because of a shitty main event. thankfully, the Stone Cold Podcast with my favorite wrestler of all-time, Ric Flair, was really good. i love those old stories of him and Dusty Rhodes. that was on the WWE Network.

the New York Rangers did something last night they hadn't done all season. they came from behind in the third period and actually won for a change. a HUGE 2-1 victory over Boston that will hopefully get the ball rolling in the right direction once again.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

if that really is the final picture of David Bowie, that might make me happy for years to come. as one person wrote today, his death was like his life, a work of art.

instead of watching the State of the Union tonight i will be watching the Dayton Flyers take on Davidson. this is a must win game for Dayton after that last loss to a shitty LaSalle team. plus, since they are at home, they really need to win.

i ordered myself a webcam last night off of Amazon.com. after cashing in some codes and whatnot, i got a $100 camera for a little more than $6. it should be here around my birthday. hopefully it works well enough that i can start doing more videos and maybe even get my lazy ass on Skype.

it is supposed to get down to the single digits tonight, so i'm very interested to see how the furnace runs tonight.

that's all for me today. i hope this finds everyone warm and realizing they still have time to send me a birthday gift.

i love random emails

welcome to the 29th day of National Poetry Month. today, i'm shining a light on Melanie Browne. Melanie is easily one of the best female poets going today. i have really enjoyed her work over the years. below you'll find some links. hopefully you find something you like that you want to share and/or BUY. enjoy:

so i got a email from a stranger yesterday. they needed to tell me that what i have written about my father and wanting him dead is disturbing and they wouldn't be buying any of my work. my poetry is nothing but drama, hatred and filth. that part made me smile. i guess my writing is good enough that the point is getting through. i emailed this nobody back and told them i completely understood his position, but if his father didn't have his hands around his neck trying to choke him to death, he has no clue where i'm coming from. sadly, i haven't heard back from him.

i enjoyed the King of the Ring tournament last night. as much as i would have loved to see Neville win it, i'm ok with Bad News Barrett winning. hopefully this finally gives him the push that he's needed for years.

i nailed The Voice last night. mom was coming in giving me the details and i told her who the bottom 3 was going to be 20 minutes before they were announced. what i didn't expect was that the country dude didn't get saved last night. that was a pleasant surprise. now the show will get really interesting.

Undateable last night was fucking hilarious. that show is really great.

the New York Yankees got just enough offense last night and some more great pitching to win 4-2. of course, it wasn't all good news as they had to put Tanaka on the DL with a strained forearm. that's not a good sign for a guy with elbow problems. they go for the sweep this afternoon.

here's something funny and something that may make you puke from last night:

i'm looking forward to NXT tonight and Mick Foley night on the WWE Network. on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground.

i did a little poetry work last night. i'm going to do a little more after the baseball game today so i can hopefully get a submission ready for late tonight/early tomorrow.

i tried that Long Island Iced Tea Mix from Bud Light last night. not great, but definitely not as bad as i feared.

that's really all for me today. i may try to sneak off to the bank today as i finally got a check i was waiting for. but, chances are i won't. the way the body is feeling today, it's going to be a struggle to fucking walk, let alone drive anywhere. good times.

the bitter cold and old bones just don't mix

after i got in from feeding the cats i told my mother we weren't going to go to the basketball game tonight. she didn't want to go last night but i insisted that we would be. that was, until i actually went out into the cold. holy fuck! it's really fucking cold. i believe i was outside when we hit our high of the day, 7 degrees. with the wind, it felt like a balmy -25. with my bad back and my shitty pinched nerves and my mother's general hatred for the cold, there's no point going out when the game is on television.

so, that does alter my plans for the evening. the Dayton Flyers basketball game starts at 6. the New York Rangers play at 7. The Big Bang Theory is on at 8. so, it looks like i'll have a busy night in front of a heater and a tv.

how i didn't see any dead cats today is truly beyond me. of course, i only saw 12 of the 20. either the rest are hiding or have taken that long nap where i can't find them.

i figure what i might also do tonight is start packing some shit. i guess that's what you do when you move. i haven't had to do that since 1997.

Lucha Underground was excellent once again last night. here are some highlights from the show:

i had to change the water filter in the cellar today. the rust in our water is getting out of hand. of course, the only filters i have are ones that just take way the sediment. they don't do anything for smell. so, i'm really looking forward to my shower here in a few minutes.

can you tell i'm getting sick of the farm yet?

watched a little of the NBA trade deadline coverage today. i wish Sacramento would have done more, but at least they have a great head coach again. hopefully George Karl can get them back to being relevant once again.

that's all for me today. i will be on here sometime tomorrow. mom has to take the car in to get some basic shit done to it. i have no clue if she's getting a rental or not. so, i'll be home alone for a little while tomorrow. everyone knows what that means... porn.

i hope you are warm wherever you are. and if you're not warm, hopefully you are drunk. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

welcome to the bitter cold

i'm not really looking forward to the next few days. it is supposed to get really cold. not life and death cold, but cold enough that i'll have to make an effort to stay warm in the house. good times.

the New York Rangers have fallen into a very risky trend here lately. great teams, hell, even good teams can get away with constantly blowing 2 goal leads in the 3rd period. amazingly, the Rangers got away with it again last night. but, 2 points is 2 points. and there were a few nasty goals as well last night in a 6-3 win.

and that wasn't even the nastiest one:

here are the full game highlights:

i did happen to write a poem last night. i will probably type it up sometime this weekend. i'd like to write a few more so i have a good bunch to type up.

i was in some pain last night trying to fall asleep. how i managed to get around 6 hours is beyond me. i'm happy i did though as i have some driving to do today.

this will be a short one as i need to get to the bank and get the mail before mom and i leave to go to Columbus for the hockey game tonight.

i won't probably be back on here until Saturday afternoon/evening as the Dayton Flyers play tomorrow at 12:30 PM. needless to say, i'll be running on empty after that.

i'm not sure if i'll get to watch what i normally watch on Friday nights (Treehouse Masters, NJPW) when i get back from Columbus tonight. i'll probably be busy checking my emails.

i really need Columbus to beat Philadelphia tonight. my fantasy hockey is struggling this week and could use that victory.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully you don't have shitty weather coming your way. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
