 i think i know what i am getting my mother for Christmas. i will hopefully get all that bought in the next week or so. i was doing some research on Amazon last night and i think i found 5 things she would love that i can actually afford. we limit it to 5 things as neither one of us need a ton of gifts.

the day before something...

 so, my mother is back home. she still has COVID, so this will still be a bit of an adventure. but, hopefully she will be getting over it soon and whatever the fuck normal is can be back in this home. of course, that's not likely either.

the World Cup today was crazy again. the big upset today was Japan defeating Germany, 2-1. that was another holy shit result. in the other matches, Morocco and Croatia finished 0-0, Belgium defeated Canada 1-0 and Spain put on a masterclass against Costa Rica, defeating them 7-0.

the New York Rangers came from behind last night to win at the Los Angeles Kings, 5-3. that was a joy to watch. the boys play tonight in Anaheim.

The Voice was good last night.

NXT was really good last night.

so, i did watch the Dayton Flyers today. they lost a game they could have won against Wisconsin, 43-42. the loss means they will play NC State tomorrow afternoon.

i probably need to run to the store to get some things for tomorrow as i didn't think mom would be home for Thanksgiving. i'm really hoping the local grocery store has what i am looking for.

i will try to be on here in the morning tomorrow as i am expecting plenty of chaos tomorrow.

CR7 to the rescue again...

 so, i wasn't really sure what to expect from Manchester United today. they were playing in Spain at Villarreal in the Champions League. they needed a win today to secure a place in the last 16 for the Champions League. David de Gea made some great saves. and then late in the match, CR7 to the rescue. United got a second goal from Jadon Sancho. i'm so happy he finally did something positive. i hope that opens the floodgates for that kid. United won 2-0. Michael Carrick got his first win. they have a huge test this weekend against Chelsea.

The Voice was really good last night. i have no damn clue who gets eliminated tonight.

Monday Night Raw was a bit crazy last night. Seth Rollins got attacked by a fan. that at least spiced things up a bit.

just another Monday...

 i never know why my mother makes appointments for the doctor in the morning. she's not a morning person and i don't sleep. it makes no damn sense. but, i got her to her doctor's appointment on time. her blood sugar is doing much better and her doctor (which is also my doctor) does a really good job of listening to my mother's questions and answering them as succinctly as possible. mom was hungry after the appointment, so i went to McDonald's for lunch. we got some food and took it home.

i've got a poem swimming in my head from this weekend that i haven't had the chance to write down yet. it's going to be a great one...

the New Orleans Saints defeated the Falcons yesterday, 24-9. the defense was fucking amazing (8 sacks) but i was really pleased with how Taysom Hill played at QB. if he can stop fumbling the damn ball and just manage the offense, this team is going to be great while Drew is out injured.

WWE Survivor Series was pretty good last night. the retirement ceremony for The Undertaker was a deep dive in nostalgia. oh, the memories...

Belushi was amazing last night. i really enjoyed that documentary.

The Undoing was great last night. the series finale is next week.

Murder on Middle Beach was very good last night.

Moonbase 8 was pretty funny last night.

not how i wanted to start my weekend...

so, i didn't get to the phone in time this morning for the nurse's call. i waited and then listened to the message for the number to call her back. of course, the number she left wasn't the right number. eventually, she did call back and we went through my medical history. apparently, i was supposed to stop taking my vitamin i take each morning and another pill i take in the morning a week before the procedure. of course, i didn't know that until this morning. joy. and, i could tell from her tone that she isn't thrilled with my medical history, so now on Monday, i have to go get some blood work done and have an EKG. all that will be done at a place i have never been before. at 9 in the fucking morning. joy. i'm just waiting for them to tell me i can't have the procedure after these tests. i am so fucking livid with this shit anymore. at least the email the nurse said she was going to send me was actually in my email this morning. that's the first time any of this has gone as planned.

the New York Rangers lost last night in Ottawa, 4-1. it figures, they play down or up to their competition each game. they play tonight in Montreal.

or for the people reading this outside of the USA, happy Thursday. i'm not planning on doing much this Thanksgiving. as a type 2 diabetic, i won't be pigging out like the good old days. as an apathy riddled poet, i should be gathering poems for a new book, but i won't be. i figure most of today will be napping and working on my bad back. that and watching some football.

my sister came down last night. we spent most of the rest of the evening chatting and catching up. and making sure we didn't get mom the same things for Christmas.

the New York Rangers whipped Carolina last night, 6-1. that was pleasant to watch.

A Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving Special was pretty funny last night.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows this week.
