Happy Thanksgiving...

Happy Thanksgiving

i hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. eat plenty of food, enjoy the football and enjoy the family arguments about shit no one should talk about on holidays; religion, politics, etc.

the New York Rangers won last night in Pittsburgh, 1-0.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

AEW Dynamite was pretty good last night.

nothing on the DVR tonight.

i do plan on watching all 3 NFL games today. Packers at Lions, Commanders at Cowboys and 49ers at Seattle.

i did make cinnamon rolls this morning. mom had 2 of them. i told her that is basically half of the sodium she is allowed each day. she said fuck it, i'm eating today. great, i can't wait for tomorrow.

i know at some point today we are going to start cleaning out the kitchen as the renovation will start (hopefully) next week.

Happy Thanksgiving...

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. i hope everyone has a great day.

the New York Rangers lost last night in Anaheim, 3-2.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night. another new episode is on tonight.

AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.

Hard Knocks was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Masked Singer.

so far at the World Cup today, Switzerland defeated Cameroon 1-0 and Uruguay and South Korea finished 0-0. currently Ghana is playing Portugal. later, Brazil will play Serbia.

i do plan on watching some of the football games today. Buffalo plays at Detroit. the Giants are at the Cowboys and the Patriots play at the Vikings tonight.

the Dayton Flyers play NC State this afternoon. hopefully, they will shoot way better than they did yesterday against Wisconsin.

this is going to be the first time i am doing Thanksgiving as the main one cooking. so, i am interested to see how i do, especially since i will be cooking a few things i haven't done before.

i should be on here tomorrow in the afternoon most likely.

i hope everyone has a great day. much like i expected, mom slept until around 11 this morning. when she told me last night she was going to be up to watch the parade, i laughed.

i need to go make her breakfast, so that's all for me kids.

Happy Thanksgiving...

 Happy Thanksgiving

i hope everyone has a great day.

it's raining here, so i know i will be miserable for most of the day. good times.

the New York Rangers won last night at the Islanders, 4-1.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

AEW was amazing last night.

the mid-season finale of Batwoman was excellent last night. the show returns in January.

Hard Knocks was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i will watch NXT UK sometime today on Peacock.

the Dayton Flyers play at noon in Orlando against Miami of Florida. considering Dayton are 6 point underdogs today, i'm not expecting them to win, let alone cover.

the New Orleans Saints play tonight at home against Buffalo. i'd love to see the Saints get a win tonight, but they have a ton of injuries.

i got my order from WWE.com yesterday. whenever i can find t-shirts i actually like in my size and they are on sale, i usually jump at the chance. i got a Tommaso Ciampa shirt and an Edge shirt.

the baseball cards i got the other day were worth well more than the $20 i paid for the 2021 Topps Update value box.

i will most likely be on here in the morning tomorrow. i'm not much of a Black Friday shopper.

until then kids...

happy thanksgiving

happy thanksgiving to everyone out there.

NXT was really good last night.

AEW was excellent last night as well.

The Mystery of D.B. Cooper was fascinating last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Masked Singer, I Can See Your Voice and Miz & Mrs. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i'm sure i'll watch some football and maybe some college basketball today.

and i guess some time tomorrow i'll actually have a cellphone. my sister ordered it this morning, along with an upgrade for my mother's phone. as my sister appropriately said this morning, the world is coming to an end.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i know i have no damn plans to do any shopping tomorrow, thank god.

i hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. i hope you have a great day.

the Dayton Flyers lost to Kansas yesterday in OT, 90-84. while i am very happy that they took the #4 team in the country to overtime, i'm still going to think of this as a missed opportunity. the refs did them no favors, that's for sure. but, Dayton's coach had his head up his ass in OT. Kansas ran the same fucking play the entire 5 minutes. Dayton made no adjustments. and please, anyone on earth tell me, how the fuck does your best player (Obi Toppin) not get one fucking shot off in overtime?
https://www.daytondailynews.com/sports/anthony-grant-dayton-flyers-gave-everything-they-had-maui-invitational-championship/m9UFPdu4jimSjlVxxofYEK/

the New York Rangers won last night over Carolina, 3-2.

NXT was really good last night.

AEW was really good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i do plan on watching NXT UK sometime this afternoon.

the New Orleans Saints play tonight at Atlanta. if the Saints win, they will clinch a playoff spot i do believe. so, i really hope that happens tonight.

Manchester United plays later this morning in the Europa League. they took a very young traveling squad with them, so i'm really interested to see how the kids play.

i'm sure i'll watch some football today, probably some college basketball and no parades. simply not a fan.

mom made a breakfast casserole this morning. it was really good. my sister is going to one of the cousin's house for Thanksgiving. she'll be back here sometime tonight for dinner.

i suppose i should be thankful for improving health, but i'm not. i suppose i should be thankful for my mother and sister, but i'm not. i suppose i should be thankful for my poetic talent, but i'm not. i suppose i should be thankful that anyone actually reads this blog, and i am.

enjoy the food, the drinks and whatever else you enjoy on today.

i'll be on here sometime tomorrow. i don't do any black friday shopping and i am hoping i got most of we needed from the grocery store yesterday.

until tomorrow kids...

Happy Thanksgiving

or for the people reading this outside of the USA, happy Thursday. i'm not planning on doing much this Thanksgiving. as a type 2 diabetic, i won't be pigging out like the good old days. as an apathy riddled poet, i should be gathering poems for a new book, but i won't be. i figure most of today will be napping and working on my bad back. that and watching some football.

my sister came down last night. we spent most of the rest of the evening chatting and catching up. and making sure we didn't get mom the same things for Christmas.

the New York Rangers whipped Carolina last night, 6-1. that was pleasant to watch.

A Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving Special was pretty funny last night.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows this week.

NXT was excellent last night. i could watch Johnny Wrestling and Pete Dunne wrestle a thousand times and never get bored.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Young Sheldon and Life in Pieces.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this morning. you can find that by going here:

how capitalism killed "America" Friday

i never have gone shopping on Black Friday. i never have felt the need to. i did get all my shopping done yesterday online, mostly because i don't like people and i'm lazy. the endless commercials and people trampling over people to get whatever is infuriating as much as it is comical. as a poet, i love the chaos. as a human, i often wonder how the fuck all of us are the same species.

the Dayton Flyers started off flat as fuck last night. they couldn't hit the fucking ocean with the ball if they tried. at one point, i believe they were down 21-7. as they usually do, they clawed their way back to tie the game. and like usual, they ran out of gas to be down by 9 at halftime. they hung around in the second half and made a late run, taking the lead in the final 30 seconds of the game. that would be their only lead of the game. Nebraska won 80-78. that means Dayton will play Portland tonight, instead of UCLA. so, that means tonight becomes a MUST WIN game unless you'd like to have one of those "ugly" losses that keeps teams out of the NCAA tournament in March. these last two games have taken a few years off of my life.

thankfully, Manchester United did a much better job earlier in the day. the team played with an urgency that was needed and got some clinical finishing for a change. a 4-0 win over Feyenoord was just what they needed. now they can control their own destiny in the Europa League. the best part of yesterday's game was when the sun actually shined on a dog's ass and Wayne Rooney scored. he's now 1 goal away from being the club leader in goals. the boys take on West Ham next on Sunday.

Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

the DVR gets the night off tonight.

the New York Rangers play Philadelphia this afternoon. i'd really love to see the boys get back to winning consistently again.

i think i had a pretty productive Thanksgiving. i got mom's laundry done, although i'm not fucking sure where that other sock went. i also got all my Christmas shopping done. thank you Amazon.com.

i think i may try to do some writing today and maybe i'll get drunk enough that i'll actually do a video or something. who knows.

i hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. enjoy your consumerism day. and remember to help the little guy out tomorrow.

happy thanksgiving

a lesson i learned early in life was just because you are miserable, you don't have to make everyone else miserable. with that in mind, i hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

the New York Rangers were leading 1-0 last night after the first period. i'm not really sure who was in those blue uniforms after that point as Pittsburgh fucking destroyed them, 6-1. oh well.

the Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving Special was pretty funny last night.

Lucha Underground was good last night. i wouldn't have had Sexy Star lose the title just after one week, but i understand.

NXT was mostly a highlight show from the latest TakeOver. that's not a bad thing.

Total Divas was hilarious last night. when Lana threw the shot put into Natalya's windshield, i laughed my ass off.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Life in Pieces.

Manchester United plays in the Europa League today against Feyenoord. it's at home and it's a MUST WIN game.

the Dayton Flyers play Nebraska tonight out in California. i'm interested to see how the team plays now that they have had a few practices with the smaller lineup. if they can win, they will most likely play UCLA tomorrow.

i imagine i will spend most of the day watching football and finishing up mom's laundry.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling podcast this morning. i highly recommend it. you can find it by going here: http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2016/11/23/wrestling-podcast-109-colt-cabana

i'm also going to try to get at least some of my Christmas shopping done today. god willing, i'll get it all done.

i hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving. if you're in a different part of the world, a little advice from Janne Karlsson:

a Friday for all the races

as you might imagine, i'm not a big fan of Black Friday

i managed to get 95% of my Christmas shopping done yesterday. i got 12 items on Amazon and with all my gift codes, it cost me around $30. other than a few things here and there, i'm all done. that's the way it should always be done. of course, i don't really care for shopping or people, so perhaps i'm a bit biased.

my Thanksgiving was okay. i didn't eat nearly as bad as i usually do. of course, when my mother told me she was going to bring me a plate from next door, i figured it would be turkey, stuffing, potatoes, etc... instead it was 3 different desserts. so much for hoping your son doesn't get diabetes like everyone else in the family. it wasn't until 8 at night that i had some turkey and the fixings. i often wonder what i did in a previous life that i am in this family.

my fantasy football teams did pretty well yesterday. i picked 2 of the 3 games correctly. i still can't believe Chicago won last night in Green Bay.

the Dayton Flyers had the lead for most of the game yesterday against Iowa. but, being a life long Dayton fan, i know how quickly those leads get pissed away at times. sure enough, Iowa was ahead late. thankfully, Dayton caught a second wind and stormed back to win 82-77. they will play Monmouth tonight as they upset Notre Dame last night. if Dayton can win tonight it will most likely set up a final against their hated rival Xavier. that would come on Sunday.

for some reason Life in Pieces didn't record last night. i found it online and watched it this morning. pretty funny as usual.

my sister and i were hoping to go see the new James Bond movie while she was down here this holiday. she won some free tickets to the movie. unfortunately, her work (she's on call) has fucked her over and my sports teams are playing at times that don't exactly fit her schedule. so, that's not going to happen. of course, i wasn't real sure i wanted to sit for 2 1/2 hours for a movie i probably won't like.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Knick (hopefully).

the New York Rangers play this afternoon in Boston. hopefully they can get back to winning.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow with a quick blog. my afternoon is crazy as Ohio State, New York Rangers and Manchester United will all be on at the same time tomorrow. i figure i'll be in my room as i will surely be going fucking crazy.

i hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. if you are going out shopping today, pick me up something nice. it doesn't have to be expensive. feel free to check out my Amazon.com Wish List for ideas. you can find a link to it on the right hand side of this blog.

until tomorrow you crazy kids. it's going to be raining all day here. so i figure i'll be in misery for most of the day.

giving thanks

i woke up this morning with my back feeling like an elephant had slept on it. 5 hours later and i still haven't been able to get it loose. that usually means i'm going to be a bitter angry prick for the rest of the day. seeing that it is Thanksgiving, i'll fit right in.

not that i'll actually go over next door to see the family. it's more likely that some asshole will come over here and interrupt me. i'm not sure what part of not participating in the holidays for over 20 years that people just don't get.

Manchester United pissed away a glorious chance yesterday to advance into the knockout round of the Champions League. it was yet another game where they forgot to be clinical in the final third. a 0-0 draw did them no favors yesterday. they now have to win in Germany or they will most likely not get out of the group stage. that will be a complete fucking failure.

the New York Rangers met their kryptonite last night. Montreal whipped them 5-1. enough said. they next play tomorrow afternoon in Boston.

my sister and i watched a bunch of shows on the DVR that happened while she was in South Africa.

NXT was really good last night. between the best contract signing ever between Finn Balor and Samoa Joe to the match between Eva Marie and Bayley that reminded me of a Dusty Rhodes classic storytelling of the baby face overcoming all the stacked odds... it was an excellent show. add on to that that Sami Zayn is coming back soon and it was certainly 60 minutes i enjoyed.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Life in Pieces.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight down in Orlando, Florida against Iowa. if Dayton can somehow win that game, they will most likely play Notre Dame in the next game. that would greatly boost their schedule come March. but, they will have their hands full with Iowa.

i have fantasy players in all 3 football games today. if none of them have great games, i'm pretty much fucked come Sunday. i figure knowing my luck, i will be drinking scotch by tonight.

i typed up the 7 poems i wrote earlier this week this morning. i really like all 7 of them. i'm guessing that i will get some submissions out early next week.

i nearly forgot my usual thanksgiving tradition. i'm really getting frustrated with not having my old computer. it finally dawned on mom this morning that she needs to get it fixed. the thing is in her name as is the warranty with geek squad. plus, she still has shit on there for her job.

that's all for me today kids. if you are celebrating Thanksgiving today, enjoy it and try not to kill the crazy cousin or uncle. if you aren't doing that today, enjoy your Thursday.

keep the drinks flowing kids.

and here come the holidays

first off, this blog post is brought to you by The Sam Roberts Show Online, episode #35. i urge all of you to listen to this for Sam's take on the Elmo controversy. you will never look at puppets or cartoons the same again. you can find the show on ITunes, Stitcher, and by going to http://notsam.com/podcast.html. if you can help Sam out, by all means do so. also, if you like what you hear, tell as many people as you know.

i had an eye appointment yesterday (my left eye has gotten worse, but, new glasses coming soon) so i missed Manchester United's loss yesterday. given that they have already clinched the group in Champions League play, i'm not too concerned. BUT, they better fucking win this weekend against QPR.

i did manage to see that Chelsea lost and their manager got fired after the game. pure fucking glee on my end.

after i get done with this i will hopefully catch CR7 eliminating Manchester City. fingers are crossed.

i'm on a bit of a Rolling Stones kick here lately. really enjoyed Crossfire Hurricane on HBO and the new video for Doom and Gloom is interesting. of course, i may have just liked it for the nudity, but the song is pretty damn good as well. hunt the internet a bit, you'll find it.

speaking of music, found some new music on NoiseTrade.com today. check out the music section and do check out the bands. well worth your time.

lastly, i do hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. if you happen to be going shopping, please lose your patience and murder someone. ok, that was just to see if people are actually reading this.

i have started my Christmas shopping. hello internet. given that most of the stores around me have closed, i don't know if i will leave the home to buy anything. of course, it feels like i'm trying to keep the postal service afloat by myself. that being said, a few lucky ones should be checking their mailboxes in the coming weeks.
