so, i got both NFL playoff games wrong yesterday. thank god i didn't bet much on either of them. i still adhere to my first rule of gambling, only wager what you are willing to lose. i did have a couple parlays hit, that saved me from not making anything yesterday. the Eagles beat the 49ers, 38-7. the Chiefs beat the Bengals, 23-20.

happy birthday to my mother
i woke up this morning and my mother was already in the shower. that surprised me. thankfully, it was just because she wanted to take one, nothing bad had happened. she liked the card i gave her. hopefully what i bought her will be here tomorrow.
the grocery shopping today was tedious, mostly because i have to check every label for sodium, carbs and calories. fun times. i did get everything on the list and a few extras for my mother so she could at least attempt to enjoy her birthday with everything going on. i did luck into some baseball cards today at the Rite Aid near the Kroger i shop at. i got 2 Fairfield boxes for $9. there was about $15 worth of cards in the boxes. and it was warm enough today that most women were wearing something tight. and seeing that i'm an ass man, i enjoyed the view a little longer than i probably should have.
NXT was amazing last night. having Samoa Joe back as Mr. Regal's enforcer is going to be fun.

timing is everything in life...
i was able to get everything on the grocery list this afternoon at the store. it seemed like everyone has finally gotten used to the "new" normal. and i was able to keep the bill under $100.
here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.
Dark Side of the Ring and After Dark were both excellent last night.
WWE Backstage was good last night.
Vice News Tonight aired a special last night that was about Italy's response to COVID-19. i highly urge everyone to watch it.

the WWE let a ton of people go today, including a few of my favorites. this plague is now really fucking with my life.
i'll probably be on here tomorrow after i get some poems out and go to the bank to deposit a check.
hopefully the weather decides to actually feel like Spring one of these days.
until tomorrow kids...

better late than never
when i woke up, the New York Yankees were in the process of going down 4-0 to Boston in London. they would be trailing until the 7th inning, when the Yankees exploded for 9 runs. DiDi extended the home run streak to 31 in the 8th inning. of course, the Yankees bullpen tried to make interesting... eventually, the Yankees won today 12-8. the Red Sox are now 11 games behind in the AL East. i won't count them out completely, but i will say they have little to no chance of winning the division now. the Yankees are off tomorrow and start a series at the Mets on Tuesday.
the Gold Cup was fucking crazy last night. Canada blew a 2 goal lead and lost to Haiti, 3-2. Mexico and Costa Rica went to penalty kicks and like always, Mexico ousted Costa Rica from the Gold Cup.
tonight, Jamaica takes on Panama and the USA plays Curacao.
Ramy Youssef: Feelings was fucking hilarious last night.
ROH was pretty good last night.
AEW Fyter Fest was good last night, up until the final 3 matches. those matches were fucking great.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Sermon on the Mount (HBO), Big Brother, Our Cartoon President, City on a Hill, Big Little Lies, Euphoria and Last Week Tonight.

if you could go back 50 years, would it matter?
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
the New York Yankees split the doubleheader yesterday in Detroit. they won the first game 7-4. they lost the nightcap 4-2. they stranded a small village in that second game. oh well. they start a 2 game series in Toronto tonight.
i do like what the Yankees have done so far in the MLB Draft.
here are your highlights from Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final last night:
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown and Deadliest Catch. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.
mom and i went to Waffle House after her doctor's appointment today. she will be getting another injection into her back in July. hopefully, Medicare will pay for most or all of that. we will have to travel less for these injections, thankfully. they will be done in the office.
of course, it's fucking raining now. and i have to still go next door to do the trash. joy.
i did write 3 poems last night. i got into one of my moods and really went dark for a few hours. between sad songs and porn, you can imagine what i wrote. i typed them up this morning. i like them. i will definitely be using them in my next round of submissions. i'm hoping to get those out this weekend.
mom is having people come over to give estimates on getting new windows for the house. she's also talking about having the landscaping completely made over. at least i'm smart enough to know there will be no money left for me when she dies. hell, my father left me nothing either.
i do love what Manchester United is doing:
that's all for me kids. i'll be on here tomorrow in the afternoon, most likely.

when the haggard old soul waves the white flag...
here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:
The Voice was pretty good last night. there was a couple surprises for the final 12, but nothing that actually shocked me.
NXT was excellent last night.
i did watch some of the playoffs last night; basketball and hockey.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Life in Pieces, Gotham and Atlanta.
the New York Yankees start a series with Toronto tonight at home. it would be nice to see them go on a winning streak soon.
i'll probably watch some playoff hockey and basketball during the commercial breaks tonight.
i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:

i got the photo i ordered in one of the Kickstarter projects i supported today. now i just need to get a frame for the picture of Nosferatu. it's pretty fucking creepy.
i did do a little thinking on my poetry last night. i've got a couple publishers in mind to maybe do either a chapbook or another full length book. now it's just about getting my ass in gear and get everything in order to send. i'm stalling, hoping the weather will get better. that usually helps my arthritis.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store. i believe mom has a scroll ready for that. joy.

Mr. Mercedes was fucking great last night. i can't wait for the season finale next week.
You're the Worst was excellent last night.
Total Bellas was pretty good last night.
NXT was really good last night.
Lucha Underground was great last night. night 2 of Ultima Lucha Tres certainly lived up to the hype night 1 created.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Chris Gethard Show, Better Things, Gotham and Will & Grace.
tonight is game 1 of the New York Yankees divisional series with the Cleveland Indians. i would love for the Yankees to steal the game tonight as they have had no fucking luck against the pitcher they are going to face tomorrow. plus, they are going to have to win at least one game in Cleveland if they want to move on in the playoffs.
the New York Rangers start their season tonight at home against Colorado. hopefully i will be enjoying some alcohol tonight.

i survived
Dayton came out flat and paid for it. it wasn't long before they were down by 15 points. i feared the worst. thankfully, they cut the lead to 6 by halftime. Dayton came out on fire in the second half and quickly got the lead back. St. Bonaventure kept it pretty close, or i should say their point guard kept it close. he ended up with 35 for the game. Dayton ended up winning the game, 76-72. that puts them back in a first place tie with VCU. i believe they have a 3 game lead on the rest of the league. Dayton plays again on Tuesday against George Mason.
it was great to see Brian Roberts go into the Hall of Fame at halftime of the game today. he's one of the best shooters i have ever seen at Dayton.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of reporting.
NJPW was excellent last night. i could watch Will Ospreay wrestle forever and never get bored.
Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be ROH.
i will probably watch some of the NBA Saturday Night festivities tonight, probably the dunk contest and the 3 point contest.
Manchester United plays tomorrow in the FA Cup at Blackburn. hopefully they will win.
the New York Rangers play tomorrow at home against Washington. i will probably be on here after the game is over.

how capitalism killed "America" Friday
the Dayton Flyers started off flat as fuck last night. they couldn't hit the fucking ocean with the ball if they tried. at one point, i believe they were down 21-7. as they usually do, they clawed their way back to tie the game. and like usual, they ran out of gas to be down by 9 at halftime. they hung around in the second half and made a late run, taking the lead in the final 30 seconds of the game. that would be their only lead of the game. Nebraska won 80-78. that means Dayton will play Portland tonight, instead of UCLA. so, that means tonight becomes a MUST WIN game unless you'd like to have one of those "ugly" losses that keeps teams out of the NCAA tournament in March. these last two games have taken a few years off of my life.
thankfully, Manchester United did a much better job earlier in the day. the team played with an urgency that was needed and got some clinical finishing for a change. a 4-0 win over Feyenoord was just what they needed. now they can control their own destiny in the Europa League. the best part of yesterday's game was when the sun actually shined on a dog's ass and Wayne Rooney scored. he's now 1 goal away from being the club leader in goals. the boys take on West Ham next on Sunday.
Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
the DVR gets the night off tonight.
the New York Rangers play Philadelphia this afternoon. i'd really love to see the boys get back to winning consistently again.
i think i had a pretty productive Thanksgiving. i got mom's laundry done, although i'm not fucking sure where that other sock went. i also got all my Christmas shopping done. thank you Amazon.com.
i think i may try to do some writing today and maybe i'll get drunk enough that i'll actually do a video or something. who knows.
i hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. enjoy your consumerism day. and remember to help the little guy out tomorrow.

waiting on a cold front
the Yankees won again yesterday, sweeping the Angels 6-2. they are off today. they start a series with the Nationals tomorrow night at home. today happens to be the baseball draft. the Yankees have their highest pick in years. hopefully they get someone who will make an impact soon.
i did watch some of the NBA Finals last night. i have to agree with what Kenny Smith said after the game. LeBron has done more with less than any other player in league history. Cleveland won last night in OT, 95-93. that takes the home court advantage away from Golden State. 3 wins away to witnessing a living deity:
the Sunday night shows were excellent last night. Nurse Jackie was really good. Happyish was excellent. Penny Dreadful had some crazy ass imagery that was awesome. one of the best shows on television by a mile. Silicon Valley was funny. Veep was a little twisted and dry, some good old uncomfortable humor. finally, Last Week Tonight delivered another home run:
i had a hard time falling asleep last night. i thought the bottle of rum i finished off would have put me to sleep. i didn't feel the need to write last night. it was more a few hours of thought. of course, 4 hours later i was up.
a quick music break before we get to today:
after mom gets done with her shower, it's off to the stores. got some shit to return, some shit to buy, and some free birthday shit to pick up as well. we also have to get gas. if all goes well, i'll be back here in time to watch team USA play.
i'm not a big follower of women's soccer but i do support my country in these world events. so, hopefully the ladies can get the job done this time around. they are in the group of death. i figure every American team for the next century will be in the group of death for bringing down FIFA.
after that, it will be time to watch Monday Night Raw. hopefully they have a good show going into the pay per view on Sunday. it's in Columbus. i'm holding out hope i can score some tickets to it. i haven't been to a wrestling show in years.
i figure after some of the late night shows, and hopefully after the cold front has moved through here, i can get some sleep and be (relatively) pain free.
that's all for me today. hopefully the freaks are out today and i have something to write about after my adventure into public today.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

a busy morning
i did type up the 5 poems i wrote yesterday waiting for my mother to get out of her MRI. i really like these. i will send them out in my next batch of submissions.
this morning i sent out 17 poems. 2 to BoySlut and 3 each to Jellyfish Whispers, Pink Litter, Dead Snakes, The Camel Saloon, and Pyrokinection. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
today is my father's birthday. i wasn't sure i should submit some poems today, given the horrific nature of this date. but, i figured i would roll the dice.
the Yankees came from behind again last night to win 6-4. amazingly, that is their 17th straight win at home against Toronto. they will hopefully extend that streak later this afternoon.
also today, Manchester United takes on Roma. that should be a good test for the new system the boys are playing. i'll be curious to see who LvG plays today.
tonight, i believe the UFC is on FOX. plus, ROH has a new episode. also, i think there is some boxing on. so, looks like it will be a night of combat sports.
i did watch the new episode of Treehouse Masters last night. if i EVER get some fuck you money in my life, i'm getting one of these tricked out treehouses. they are fucking amazing.
i did manage to finally catch up with all i missed on YouTube on Thursday and Friday. i think i'm getting too old to keep up with the digital age. i can just imagine how distracted i would be if i actually had a smartphone. not sure how much longer i can keep fighting that.
so far, i'm holding strong.
wow, my back just tightened up. there is definitely rain on the way.
well, with that, i'm cutting this short.
mom has been mentioning that we might go to the Celtic Festival later today. if that does happen, i'll be sure to take along a camera.
hope this finds everyone well. i do hope you enjoy your weekend. only fuck the ones that cough.

be careful, you'll blow off your hand...
holy shit, the Yankees won last night, 7-4. Tanaka was not at his best but the offense woke up for a night. they called up a kid from the minors (well, not really a kid, spent 8 years down there) who homered in his second at bat. Beltran hit a huge 3 run homer. and thankfully, Phil Hughes went back to being the same shitty Phil Hughes that used to pitch for the Yankees. they play again this afternoon. maybe they will remember what a winning streak is.
i am looking forward to the World Cup games today. Germany plays France and Brazil takes on Colombia. i have Germany and Brazil advancing, even though i would not be shocked if that doesn't happen. i expect two really good games today.
i don't really have anything planned for tonight, so i imagine i'll find something on tv to watch. and then maybe a creative outburst at some point.
Joey did get eliminated from Big Brother last night. might be one of the worst players EVER. the new HOH's are Amber and Devin. there goes my hope of Devin leaving the house this week. and i don't think the other pussies in his alliance have the guts to even figure out a way to back door him this week. not sure why people play the game this way. of course, i don't even bother to try out for the show, so i'm one to talk.
was kind of stunned when i got that poem published this morning. wasn't expecting that at all. i still find it amazing at how much the internet has changed the life of a poet. never when i started dreaming of getting published in my teens did i ever think it could possibly happen within a day.
i had some pizza last night for dinner. i think there was just enough of grease in it that i have flushed everything but my soul down the toilet this morning. try shaking that visual out of your head today.
hope everyone has a great holiday. for everyone else outside of this country, hope you enjoy the World Cup games.

the start of another week
mom decided to do some car pooling today so she drove me to the bank. i didn't mind, as i'm low on gas anyway. made my deposit without any drama this time. i believe the teller had to be new as she was way too nice. my mom's bank is a long ass drive from mine, so there was plenty of music listening and commenting on how bad this area has got since our childhoods. after that, drove back to town to get the mail and some lunch. got some great fanzines in the mail from my friend in Sweden, Janne Karlsson. check out his site
http://www.svenskapache.se/.
i did write one poem yesterday. i got a line stuck in my head in the afternoon and by 10 pm, the words were flowing. i'm proud that i was able to multi-task as i was watching Penny Dreadful at the time. typed the poem up this afternoon and i like it. i suppose i'll find out how good it is when i send it out.
the shows last night were excellent. Nurse Jackie was good and ended with a little mystery. Californication was great once again. Penny Dreadful blew me away last night. it filled in plenty of the back story and some questions about the main characters. just pure fucking brilliant. Veep was hilarious. two excellent episodes to end the season. and Last Week Tonight was great. the piece on the World Cup and FIFA was fucking brilliant.
tonight will be a crazy night of television. all starting at the same time will be the New York Rangers MUST WIN Game 3 at home; the Yankees game in Kansas City, and Monday Night Raw. talk about a night i need the Elvis wall of televisions. needless to say hockey will get most of my attention for the evening.
and at some point i need to figure out how to squeeze in a new episode of Louie as well.
the Yankees were horrific yesterday, going 1 for 17 with runners in scoring position. they lost 2-1. totally pissed away a great outing from Kuroda. i doubt they will win tonight to split the series.
i expect MSG to be crazy tonight. and the first time the refs fuck up, the place will probably explode. i'm really hoping the Rangers win tonight as i don't want to wait another 20 years for a chance to win the Stanley Cup.
i found 3 more kittens today. i have no fucking clue who the mother is as these 3 were sitting outside, all balled up. i'm going to go back out there before dark and hopefully figure out who they belong to. i think they may be Cookie's but that is simply a guess.
had another weird day on iTunes. my brain continues to amaze me.
that's all for today. hope the case of the fucking Mondays eluded you today. i'll be on here tomorrow, probably in the afternoon. hopefully with that taste of a victory beer on my lips.
be well my enemies. peace...
