nothing but rain... the appropriate ending for 2020 for sure...

it started raining today and i don't think it's supposed to stop until it is actually 2021. it's just enough rain to make my arthritis jump for joy. fuck me. i have been in pain all damn day, even when i was napping.

i did make it to the pharmacy today to pick up my pills. the store was fucking crowded as hell. thankfully, the line at the pharmacy wasn't long. on the drive home, i thought about the time i set myself on fire when i was 17 and why i stopped, dropped and rolled. i think i figured out in my 20's that i hadn't snuffed out the will to live just yet. part of me believes that the actual writing of the poems is my will to live now. so, i suppose i should look forward to my next case of writer's block.

the Dayton Flyers open their A10 season tonight at home against LaSalle. Dayton is favored by 12 to win the game. i'm really hoping it isn't that close. here is a podcast previewing the game tonight.

on the DVR tonight will be NXT and AEW.

after i watch the Dayton game on ESPN+, i may check out some of the World Juniors tonight. i did watch a little college football this afternoon. plus, it is always nice to see Liverpool drop points, especially when Manchester United is in second place.

i'll probably be on here pretty early tomorrow. that is, of course, unless i have a flurry of poems hit me at the end of this fucking year.

they finally have picked up the recycling. just imagine if they actually did this shit on a schedule.

i need to go ice my bad back, so that's all for me kids.

i'm not waiting 3 hours for a haircut...

i thought for shits and giggles, i would check and see how long the wait was where i normally get my hair cut this morning. when i saw 181 minutes, i laughed out loud. i'm not waiting 3 hours to get a fucking haircut. so, hopefully the demand lessens in the next few days and i can get this monster growing on my head cut.

i wrote 4 poems last night. i typed them up shortly after a quick edit or two on them and really liked what i came up with. those 4 poems also finished up another notebook. i have this traveling case full of every notebook i have ever written in. that's roughly 25 years worth of material there. i figure it might be worth a few nickels when i die one day.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

Basketball County: In The Water was pretty good last night.

Betty was fucking hilarious last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Joker and ROH.

i did watch a little bit of the Bundesliga this morning. one thing about soccer, when it's two teams i really couldn't give a shit about, i'll fall asleep in no time.

i'll probably watch some of the UFC tonight, mostly because nothing else is on.

i'll probably be on here in the morning tomorrow, if i happen to get some decent sleep tonight. it rained a little today and i think more is on the way given that everyone has been mowing grass today.

i hope everyone has a good Saturday.

until tomorrow kids.

too old for games...

i'm not exactly sure why this shit keeps happening to me or why people like to poke the bear, so to speak. at the age of 42, i'm still getting fucking messages from people pretending to be someone else and then doing a piss poor job of trying to tell me they aren't fucking scamming me. i'm just too fucking old for these games. so, i suppose either i will find someone who will end this damn misery for me or maybe death comes first. the saga continues.

the season finale of The X-Files last night was crazy. i'm a little torn given some of the deaths. plus, if this was the final show ever, there are so many open holes that there truly is no sense of closure. of course, that's probably a metaphor for our lives.

NXT was excellent last night. i could watch Gargano and Ciampa go at each other forever and never get bored.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade last night. below is the link:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Gotham, Atlanta and Lip Sync Battle.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:

the NCAA tournament starts back up tonight. i will probably watch some of the games tonight.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Philadelphia. hopefully they will lose again tonight.

i need to get ready to take mom to her physical therapy. after we get done with that, we're going to go have lunch. then, it will be the sad final trip to Toys R Us to see what the hell is still there. i'm not getting my hopes up of finding anything good.

plus, i am bringing my little notebook with me, so i will hopefully have a nice writing session in the waiting room of the physical therapy office once again.

it had to stop sometime...

the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday to the Rams, 26-20. given the injuries the Saints had on defense going into the game, the result did not surprise me. i wasn't that surprised that the offense struggled for a good portion of the game either. what did surprise me was why the coach waited so long to just let it loose and go. once it looked like he just let Drew Brees do what he wanted, things started to click. oh well, now the fun really begins. they are still tied for first place in the division, with the team they playing next, Carolina.

the New York Rangers started slow once again yesterday, falling behind to Vancouver 2-0 before they scored. the Rangers quickly tied it early in the 3rd, only to give back the lead 40 seconds later. thankfully, they tied the game later in the period to send the game to overtime. nothing got settled in OT, so the game went to a shootout. the Rangers went second for a change and ended up winning in the 7th round of the shootout. that's 8 straight wins at home. they play again tomorrow night at home against Florida.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking hilarious last night. i can't wait for the season finale next week.

Shameless was excellent last night.

SMILF was great as well. it reminded me that i was baptized on April Fool's Day when i was a kid. the irony makes me smile to this day.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Meth Storm. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

mom and i went to Lowe's this afternoon to get my sister some things she'll need as a homeowner for Christmas.

i will probably be on here tomorrow sometime before Manchester United plays.

i hope everyone had a lovely Sunday.

just when you think you've seen it all

so i was ready and totally fucking prepared for the Manchester United game today. i wasn't watching the pregame shows, as i was watching the Formula 1 race. yes, i know, i watch entirely too many sports. so, when i heard the United game was delayed for 45 minutes, my first thought was what the fuck is going on now. there's no fucking way United could be late for a home game. then the news came down that a suspicious device had been found in Old Trafford. i take the words suspicious device to always mean bomb. so, in the name of safety, the match was abandoned. honestly, given that Manchester Shitty got the draw they needed to finish in the top 4, i really don't see a reason to play the match. sure, i'm sure someone at United will want to play it so they could finish in 5th, above Southampton, but honestly, with no Champions League spots possible, who gives a fuck. just go win the FA Cup and then relieve LVG of his duties. if the Champions League was the standard when Moyes was fired, then the standard should be the same for LVG. all in all, this was one of the craziest United seasons i can ever remember. and considering the yahoos running the show now, it's only bound to get worse.

the New York Yankees got some excellent pitching yesterday and just enough offense to beat the White Sox 2-1. they are playing right now as i am typing this. hopefully they will get the win today and finish this homestand at 7-3.

ROH was pretty good last night. it was a look back at Jay Lethal's title reign.

Saturday Night Live was pretty fucking funny last night. i'm not a big fan of Drake's music, but i do enjoy that he has no problem making fun of himself.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be House of Lies, Penny Dreadful, Silicon Valley, Veep and Last Week Tonight.

we've now entered bizarro weather once again. it was around 40 degrees when i woke up this morning. mom had me bring in the flowers before i went to bed last night because there was a chance of frost. frost in fucking May. it doesn't look like it's going to get back to "normal" temperatures until Friday. good times.

i watched some of the Eurovision 2016 yesterday. i had heard about the show for years but yesterday was the first time i actually got to see any of it. talk about things to watch when nothing else is on.

tossing and turning all night long

i could never quite find a comfortable spot in my old ass bed last night, so i mostly just tossed and turned all night long. eventually i just said fuck it, and got up. i don't know where i'm going to sneak a nap in today, so i suppose i'll just be a cranky fucker all day long.

i did wake up to some wonderful artwork from my friend Janne Karlsson:
i told him if i ever write an autobiography, i believe he just gave me the title and cover art.

plus, Chelsea lost this morning, so maybe today will be a good day.

Sonic Highways last night was excellent. i REALLY loved the song they did at the end. adding the strings was an excellent touch. i guess i should really get the album now. (that's a nice hint for anyone wanting to get me something for the holidays... amazon.com wish list link on the right hand side of this blog)

today is going to be another busy one for me. the Dayton Flyers play at home against an undefeated Eastern Michigan. after that, i guess we're going to get some lunch and then get the grocery shopping done. we should get home by the time Ohio State plays for the Big 10 championship tonight. i'm not expecting a win given all the injuries and tragedies surrounding the team right now. though, i wouldn't mind another victory beer. after that, i'm looking forward to a new episode of Saturday Night Live and the preview episode to the ppv tomorrow for ROH. with the matches they have for it, i'm pretty much going to have to bite the bullet and order it tomorrow.

thankfully, Manchester United doesn't play until Monday, so maybe i'll actually get to sleep a little on Sunday morning. at least that's the plan. i'll be on here tomorrow sometime in the morning. i'd like to have my writing done before the New Orleans Saints play at the very least.

that's all for me today. it's still fucking raining here. so, time to strap on the boots and go feed the cats. we have to be near 2 inches or so of rain by now.

hope everyone has a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

exhausted

i didn't sleep well last night at all. not sure if it was what i was watching or the impending rain that kept me up. needless to say, i woke up this morning and felt like there was about 150lbs. of bricks on my back. like i told my buddy over the weekend, when it rains i go from being 38 to 83.

it was nice to have Paul over to watch some football yesterday. we jumped from game to game before settling on watching the Bengals game. he's a fan of them. he certainly wasn't thrilled when the game ended in a tie. but, the game going late got him out of grocery shopping, so he wasn't that upset. i'll probably see him again in two weeks when he doesn't have any kids again.

i did pretty well picking the games yesterday. both of my fantasy teams are leading going into tonight's game. i don't like my chances of winning, even with the players i have going tonight. i'll know by late tonight how it all shakes out.

the Rangers played like shit once again last night, losing 6-3 to Toronto. The King got pulled in the second period. the defense looks horrible right now. i've been watching hockey too long to panic, but this shit has to change soon. they play the Islanders tomorrow night. i won't get to see it as i'll be in Columbus to watch the Blue Jackets face the Dallas Stars.

the Sunday night shows were pretty damn good last night. Boardwalk Empire was great. 2 of the main characters got killed off, which took me by surprise. there's only two episodes left in the series. i have a feeling it's going to go out with a bang. Total Divas had me laughing, mostly because of how stupid they make the show. Last Week Tonight was a rerun, so i caught a little nap. i woke up in time to watch Homeland. it was great as usual. after that, i watched the first episode of The Affair. i think i'm really going to like this show. plenty of sex, some good story telling and a great cast.

tonight is clusterfuck Monday on television. the battle rounds start on The Voice. Monday Night Raw is in Atlanta. i need to keep an eye on Monday Night Football. i will try to watch most of Gotham, while hopefully catching The Big Bang Theory on YouTube. of course, i think mom won a free month of Hulu Plus at McDonald's, so maybe i'll watch it on that. who knows. there's also some baseball and hockey tonight. i guess i should get another nap in soon.

i won my week on fantasy hockey, 6-4. i'm in third place in the league to start out. better than i thought it was going to be that's for sure.

it's been unseasonably warm here today, around the mid 70's. been a painful mix of a little sun and a ton of clouds. my back is telling me that there is more rain on the way. at least i can turn the furnace off for a few days. that will save a few bucks.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow morning sometime. i have no clue when we're driving up to Columbus tomorrow. mom took the week off. i don't blame her, she has 10 weeks of vacation. she might as well use them. until then my friends...

hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be careful, you'll blow off your hand...

i've never been much of a fireworks guy. once i entered my teens, anytime the fireworks started, it was the time to go sneak off and do drugs, drink, or make out. i suppose the 38 year old pervert inside of me misses those days the most. not that there was a ton of making out going on. but the drugs, man the drugs...

holy shit, the Yankees won last night, 7-4. Tanaka was not at his best but the offense woke up for a night. they called up a kid from the minors (well, not really a kid, spent 8 years down there) who homered in his second at bat. Beltran hit a huge 3 run homer. and thankfully, Phil Hughes went back to being the same shitty Phil Hughes that used to pitch for the Yankees. they play again this afternoon. maybe they will remember what a winning streak is.

i am looking forward to the World Cup games today. Germany plays France and Brazil takes on Colombia. i have Germany and Brazil advancing, even though i would not be shocked if that doesn't happen. i expect two really good games today.

i don't really have anything planned for tonight, so i imagine i'll find something on tv to watch. and then maybe a creative outburst at some point.

Joey did get eliminated from Big Brother last night. might be one of the worst players EVER. the new HOH's are Amber and Devin. there goes my hope of Devin leaving the house this week. and i don't think the other pussies in his alliance have the guts to even figure out a way to back door him this week. not sure why people play the game this way. of course, i don't even bother to try out for the show, so i'm one to talk.

was kind of stunned when i got that poem published this morning. wasn't expecting that at all. i still find it amazing at how much the internet has changed the life of a poet. never when i started dreaming of getting published in my teens did i ever think it could possibly happen within a day.

i had some pizza last night for dinner. i think there was just enough of grease in it that i have flushed everything but my soul down the toilet this morning. try shaking that visual out of your head today.

hope everyone has a great holiday. for everyone else outside of this country, hope you enjoy the World Cup games.

been waiting 4 years for this day

today is a day for revenge. today is a day i wish i was in Brazil. today is a day where the USA begins the journey to shock the world. i have waited 4 years to watch them have a chance to get back at Ghana for knocking them out of the last 2 World Cups. and, if they want ANY chance of getting out of the group of death, they MUST win today.

needless to say, i will be a little wired for today's game.

starting off the action today will be the juicy affair between Portugal and Germany. and before the USA plays, Iran takes on Nigeria. should be (hopefully) a great day.

yesterday was some great games at the World Cup. Switzerland scored the latest goal ever in group play (20 seconds left in the 93rd minute) to defeat Ecuador 2-1. France beat Honduras 3-0. helps that Honduras was down to 10 men for the entire second half. Argentina was sort of blah for most of the game, and then Messi had a moment of magic. Argentina wins 2-1. they will need to play much better to get to where they want to get to in this World Cup.

the Yankees decided they wanted to end their road trip early and basically didn't show up for most of the game yesterday in Oakland. they eventually lost 10-5. they were down 6 by the third inning. thank god i didn't waste much time on that game. they are off tonight.

i didn't watch much of the NBA Finals last night either. i didn't miss much.

the shows last night were excellent. Nurse Jackie was great. Californication reminded me that i have no adult friends that live near me. Penny Dreadful was spectacular last night. one of the best episodes of the season. Last Week Tonight had me laughing the entire 30 minutes. can't wait to next week.

tonight, the soccer should be over in time for me to flip to Monday Night Raw. and then, at some point tonight i'll try to catch Louie. this might be the season finale, not sure. haven't been keeping track. hopefully i will be watching while having some victory beers.

gave mom her birthday gifts this morning. she loved them, as i hoped she would.

the weather is supposed to get oppressive here this week. temps in the 90's with humidity. oh joy. i guess i'll find out this week how dumb the cats really are. and hopefully the air conditioner doesn't go out.

that's all for me today. i made it through all of yesterday without writing about my father. mission accomplished.

hope this finds everyone well. enjoy the day.

now or never

tonight is Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final. deep down in my soul i truly believe the Rangers will play with the urgency needed to win. now, i've thought that for the first 3 games as well and they haven't had one puck bounce their way. they need to score first tonight and let the crowd get behind them big time. the last thing any Rangers fan wants to see is another fucking team skating the cup around on our home ice. i'm trying to have nothing but positive thoughts for tonight, but, as many of you know about me, that's damn near impossible.

the Yankees FINALLY got a clutch hit when they needed one and won last night, 3-2. Tanaka pitches tonight, so they might actually win a series for a change. i'll turn that on after the hockey game is over.

i thought Deadliest Catch was pretty good last night. it was good to see one of the old boats back in action. hard to believe i've been watching that show for 10 years or so.

i did catch bits and pieces of the Spurs blowout win last night in Miami. i was a little shocked by it, but, this is what happens when one team doesn't play any defense at all. you dig yourself too big of a hole and then spend all your energy trying to get out of it. that's a recipe for losing.

it's been rainy here all day long. my back has been barking since i woke up. not fun.

glad to see the mail i sent to Sweden arrived today. at least something still sort of works in this country.

the World Cup starts tomorrow. i will be glued to that for most of the games. definitely for any games involving the USA or Manchester United players. hopefully it will be an entertaining few weeks.

happy birthday to my first true crush. i know you'll probably never see this, but i hope you are doing well.

that's all for me today. i'll be on here tomorrow early in the afternoon, maybe even the morning. before all the World Cup festivities begin.

hope this finds everyone well. until we meet again my enemies...

let the music take over

just one of those days when the weather feels so damn nice that you just wanna be a lazy piece of shit for the day. and since i'm that most days, i decided i would get a few things done and then let the music take over.

got the dishes done this afternoon after i decided i didn't feel like doing them at midnight last night. also, finished The Killing Joke this afternoon. i really enjoyed it. so, it looks like i know where some of my money will be going now.

got a compliment on my beard last night at the grocery store. of course, it was from the 16 year old girl bagging the groceries. i thanked her and then did my best to not do anything to get me arrested.

not sure what i'm going to watch tonight on television. i believe the Yankees are in Kansas City and play at 8 pm. other than that, not a clue. i'm sure there must be a soccer friendly on somewhere. of course, there's always some pro wrestling and the Food Network. i'm sure i'll fall asleep to something.

did have some fun on iTunes today. what amazes me is most of these songs i find that are a few years old come from my brain recalling a certain situation or certain poem that i was writing when that song was playing. quite frankly, it spooks me out at times. but, i enjoy it just as much. you'll see some new names down below.

had a holy shit moment with an old girlfriend who emailed me back today. she brought up something good that happened over 20 years ago. that brought back some memories, let me tell ya. that should allow you to understand some of the music below.

hope this finds everyone well and ready for the weekend. i'll probably be on here early tomorrow, given that all my sports are going to be on Saturday night.
