just when you think you've seen it all

so i was ready and totally fucking prepared for the Manchester United game today. i wasn't watching the pregame shows, as i was watching the Formula 1 race. yes, i know, i watch entirely too many sports. so, when i heard the United game was delayed for 45 minutes, my first thought was what the fuck is going on now. there's no fucking way United could be late for a home game. then the news came down that a suspicious device had been found in Old Trafford. i take the words suspicious device to always mean bomb. so, in the name of safety, the match was abandoned. honestly, given that Manchester Shitty got the draw they needed to finish in the top 4, i really don't see a reason to play the match. sure, i'm sure someone at United will want to play it so they could finish in 5th, above Southampton, but honestly, with no Champions League spots possible, who gives a fuck. just go win the FA Cup and then relieve LVG of his duties. if the Champions League was the standard when Moyes was fired, then the standard should be the same for LVG. all in all, this was one of the craziest United seasons i can ever remember. and considering the yahoos running the show now, it's only bound to get worse.

the New York Yankees got some excellent pitching yesterday and just enough offense to beat the White Sox 2-1. they are playing right now as i am typing this. hopefully they will get the win today and finish this homestand at 7-3.

ROH was pretty good last night. it was a look back at Jay Lethal's title reign.

Saturday Night Live was pretty fucking funny last night. i'm not a big fan of Drake's music, but i do enjoy that he has no problem making fun of himself.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be House of Lies, Penny Dreadful, Silicon Valley, Veep and Last Week Tonight.

we've now entered bizarro weather once again. it was around 40 degrees when i woke up this morning. mom had me bring in the flowers before i went to bed last night because there was a chance of frost. frost in fucking May. it doesn't look like it's going to get back to "normal" temperatures until Friday. good times.

i watched some of the Eurovision 2016 yesterday. i had heard about the show for years but yesterday was the first time i actually got to see any of it. talk about things to watch when nothing else is on.

i hope your Saturday was good. i hope your Sunday is even better.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

the odd one over in the corner

one thing i always did when i was a teen, i would take a notepad and pen with me to a mall or anywhere where there was going to be people. i do that today when i take my mother to the doctor. i wrote 7 poems yesterday while she was in her appointment. i figure i will type them up tomorrow between football games and memories of holiday dysfunction. what made me laugh yesterday was i heard a person whispering to another what's he writing there. if there is one thing i have learned over time, it's the enjoyment i get by making people nervous. it's also a good way to make sure you're always alone.

after the doctor yesterday, mom and i went to Menards. this one is way south of the one we normally go to. i could tell immediately by the women that worked there. much more attractive. of course, this is where most of the rich people live, so i'm guessing some of the parts have been cleaned up so to speak. after that we went to dinner. much more of the same. i suppose i will have some more poems to write this weekend.

after that, we got back home to get the trash out. i spent a good amount of time over at my uncle's. i joked that it has become Tuesdays with Morrie. sadly, the talks usually get to politics and then that's when i just let my crazy common sense shine. i personally hope no one votes in the next election. send the whole fucking thing into chaos. we got done with the trash just in time for The Voice.

all my favorites made it through another elimination. i was a little upset that Korin was in the bottom 2 once again. thankfully, she got saved and Evan was eliminated. he did absolutely nothing for me.

Scream Queens was excellent last night. the ending was awesome, even though you could see it coming a mile away.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving Special. i will be watching NXT and some other shows on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play a HUGE early season game with Montreal tonight. it should be a good test to see if the Rangers are really the best team in the east.

Manchester United can advance to the knockout round today if they defeat PSV Eindhoven. considering the game is at Old Trafford, i really like their chances.

i've got the first two loads of laundry going. hopefully i will have much of it done before the United game.

my sister is supposed to come down tonight, or maybe early tomorrow, all depends on her job.

i did my fantasy football picks this morning. most of my players actually play on Thanksgiving, so that will make it a very interesting holiday this year.

that's all for now. i have some clothes to fold and i have to figure out what i'm having for lunch. i hope everyone has a great day. if you happen to be traveling today, be safe.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

2 days i'll never get back

other than 8 stellar innings pitched by Phil Hughes on Saturday, this weekend has been a complete waste of my life. i'll start with one of the very few positives....

the Yankees won on Saturday, 4-2. they of course followed that up today and lost 5-4. they lose the series and finish the home stand 7-3. and, as always as it seems these days, add another injury to the list. and i know, 7-3 isn't bad, but it's not as good as 8-2 would have looked. and today was a winnable game.

the New York Rangers lost a heart breaker on Saturday in overtime, 1-0. they can't score on the power play to save their lives. and at times they have looked completely lifeless. i hope MSG breathes some life into them on Monday, or this could be a very short playoff run.

Manchester United did show up today against Chelsea. but, since they have nothing to play for, they did exactly that. lost 1-0. a little irritating to see those blue fuckers celebrating at Old Trafford to say the least. it would have been nice to put a wrench into Chelsea finishing in the top 4. oh well.

i enjoyed the parts of Saturday Night Live i was awake for. the same goes for ROH.

i did watch the Kentucky Derby. the horse that i picked to win finished nowhere near the top. the horse that did win was one of the horses i liked, so there's that i guess.

i managed to get the trash out without wrenching my back. i suppose that's a positive.

we did get about 30 seconds of drizzle so far this weekend. thankfully, it looks like all the corn will be planted by tonight.

but since we've had a pretty good mixture of moisture and warm weather, it looks like i'll be mowing the grass long before i wanted to again. i suppose mom will like that for Mother's Day.

i really hope the Sunday night shows on HBO and Showtime lift my mood this evening. or, this could be one of my infamous angry sleeping nights. that usually makes for some interesting poetry. 4 hours of tossing and turning can do that at times. and that will absolutely suck if it happens, knowing there's about a thousand things i want to do on Monday. figures.

oh yeah, happy cinco de who gives a shit.

how a bad back can ruin a good weekend

my Saturday was pretty good.

team USA wins the gold at the World Juniors.

Robin van Persie pulls out a late goal to give Manchester United a draw against West Ham. replay should be in a week or two, this time at Old Trafford.

the Dayton Flyers hold on for their 10th win of the season. i was happy for the win, but, they played like shit for most of the game. they should have buried UAB, instead hold on to win by 7. some things never change. they can't beat the spread at home against anyone it seems.

then, before i fall asleep after some ROH, i hear rumblings that the NHL lockout could be over soon.

i wake up Sunday to see the lockout is over, although i refuse to get my hopes up just yet. get all the trash picked up and get ready to go upstairs to put on some more clothing to go out to feed the cats.

and then it happens. that holy shit feeling that i have dreaded for the last 5 years or so now. as i'm taking the first step up my back completely locks up. now mind you, i still managed to get up the stairs, get dressed, feed the cats, get back to the house walking over the sheet of ice we have here on the farm, and get some ice on it before the first spasm took place.

the cold did nothing at first. tried some heat and that felt pretty good. of course, until the spasms started. got those calmed down (we have no pain pills in the house that i'm aware of, so, hello my old friend alcohol) and got some ben gay cold on it. that seemed to do the trick, at least for a few hours.

there are times where i wish i had no pain tolerance. i'm sure in a few days i'll get an x-ray, i'll have some bulging discs, here comes the steroid shots and rehab again. or maybe not. only time will tell i guess. really, all i'm hoping for this evening is to be able to sleep with out screaming.

by the way, got 3 of the 4 NFL playoff games correct. would have been all 4 if the Colts remembered you have to score touchdowns to win.

if you don't see any posts from me for a few days, don't be alarmed, just know that it's probably impossible for me to sit at a computer long enough to post anything. if those days turn into weeks, i'll be sure to have someone post what hospital or morgue i'm at.

the day turned to shit around noon

so, i got in this morning from feeding the cats and birds just as Manchester United was getting scored on. fucking great, this is going to be a long day i start thinking. thankfully, RvP decides he's going to pull a spectacular goal out from his ass and sets Old Trafford on fire. 2 more goals in the first half from the boys and i'm feeling good. then the usual try to not lose instead of trying to win costs them and their shitty, shitty injury filled defense. they win 3-2 but it wouldn't be a Manchester United game without an injury. a nasty, nasty, NASTY gash to Wayne Rooney's thigh. seriously, i'm talking fucking shark week nasty here. early reports are he's going to be out a month. just fucking great.

scouted out a few new places to send poetry to and did the dishes between soccer matches from Italy, Spain and Germany. thank you DIRECTV.

and then the Yankees. after watching Tampa Bay lose earlier in the day, here's a great chance to stretch the lead a bit. of course, Kuroda has one bad inning and the Yankees only can muster one fucking hit with runners in scoring position (out of the 9 damn at bats they had) and lose 3-1. this will go down in the wasted opportunity column if they blow the division this year. at least they were kind enough to get the damn game over in under 3 hours.

kind of shocked Magic Johnson would do something good for Boston, apparently hell has frozen over. hopefully the Red Sox blow that quarter of a billion dollars they are saving in the trade on more shitty players. makes it more fun for this Yankee fan.

a productive tuesday

enjoyed watching men's volleyball and women's soccer early this afternoon. so jealous of the USA women to be playing at Old Trafford. one of those places i want to get to before i die. and looks like from the events some will watch on tape delay tonight, they will be happy. thanks to twitter, i'll be watching the Yankees and Deadliest Catch.

speaking of the Yankees, after another one run loss last night, the frustrated fan in me wanted a huge trade today. thankfully Cashman didn't do that. getting a nice role player from the Pirates for a guy who was going to be let go when Joba comes back (which may be tonight) is a nice stroke of genius. with A-Rod injured and now Tex injured, Casey McGehee can fill in at both spots and provide some right handed power. hopefully that works. a warm body that can drive in runs. please.

actually wrote and typed up (a rarity for me in the same day) 2 poems. not sure if they will go in the august submission pile or the later in the fall pile. time shall tell.

hopefully the USA men's basketball is boring enough (as in they are up by 50 20 minutes into the game) that i might get a nap in before some baseball tonight.

Amy Winehouse - Back to Black
