be careful, you'll blow off your hand...

i've never been much of a fireworks guy. once i entered my teens, anytime the fireworks started, it was the time to go sneak off and do drugs, drink, or make out. i suppose the 38 year old pervert inside of me misses those days the most. not that there was a ton of making out going on. but the drugs, man the drugs...

holy shit, the Yankees won last night, 7-4. Tanaka was not at his best but the offense woke up for a night. they called up a kid from the minors (well, not really a kid, spent 8 years down there) who homered in his second at bat. Beltran hit a huge 3 run homer. and thankfully, Phil Hughes went back to being the same shitty Phil Hughes that used to pitch for the Yankees. they play again this afternoon. maybe they will remember what a winning streak is.

i am looking forward to the World Cup games today. Germany plays France and Brazil takes on Colombia. i have Germany and Brazil advancing, even though i would not be shocked if that doesn't happen. i expect two really good games today.

i don't really have anything planned for tonight, so i imagine i'll find something on tv to watch. and then maybe a creative outburst at some point.

Joey did get eliminated from Big Brother last night. might be one of the worst players EVER. the new HOH's are Amber and Devin. there goes my hope of Devin leaving the house this week. and i don't think the other pussies in his alliance have the guts to even figure out a way to back door him this week. not sure why people play the game this way. of course, i don't even bother to try out for the show, so i'm one to talk.

was kind of stunned when i got that poem published this morning. wasn't expecting that at all. i still find it amazing at how much the internet has changed the life of a poet. never when i started dreaming of getting published in my teens did i ever think it could possibly happen within a day.

i had some pizza last night for dinner. i think there was just enough of grease in it that i have flushed everything but my soul down the toilet this morning. try shaking that visual out of your head today.

hope everyone has a great holiday. for everyone else outside of this country, hope you enjoy the World Cup games.

be well. be creative. be safe. be worried about that extra hot dog.

peace and chicken, ribs, brisket, turkey, hot dog, sausage and pork chop grease...

a much happier day (so far)

i kind of got back into my ritual of when Manchester United plays a game mid-week. a big breakfast, plenty of music, some mindless internet surfing and then settle down for the game. i thought the team Moyes put out was better than the debacle over the weekend. still would like to see a stronger midfield, but sadly, this team doesn't have those players. Chicharito scores in the second half for the 1-0 win over Liverpool in Capital One Cup play. i will enjoy that victory beer for sure.

the Yankees last night played about as listless as i have seen them all season. so, with their season hanging in the balance, the ball goes to Phil Hughes. that pretty much sums up this season perfectly. any Yankee loss or Cleveland win for the rest of the season and the Yankees are eliminated from playoff contention. hopefully they put this miserable season to bed this evening.

The Voice last night was really good. i heard a couple voices that i think really have a chance to win it all. from what i have seen so far, looks like it will be another great season for the show.

i laughed my ass off last night watching Jimmy Fallon. here is why:

no new Duck Dynasty tonight so i get to watch The Bridge at the normal time. i'm really looking forward to this episode tonight. judging from the preview, it should be a good one.

i didn't get all the guys i wanted in fantasy football. so i'm going to have to do some scrambling here before rosters need to be set by tomorrow.

i'm hoping to do some writing tonight. i want to have a few new poems to choose from to send out some submissions early in October.

that's pretty much all for now. hope this finds everyone in a relaxed position, a cold one in your hand, and the deviant of your choice asking for more.

i woke up this morning to...

RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it must have poured as the puddles in the lane were pretty deep. not sure how much we got but it was certainly more than we've had in almost a month. i know the crops desperately needed some water. hopefully it didn't come too late.

i really can't believe the Yankees are only 1 game out of a playoff spot after the victory last night, 5-4. yet another come from behind one as well. if they can get the win tonight and Boston finishes off their sweep of Tampa, the Yankees go into Boston tomorrow tied for a playoff spot with something like 15 games to go. given all the injuries and inconsistent play this year, i never honestly thought they would still be in it at this point. hopefully god has money on the game tonight as Phil Hughes is pitching. it will take something biblical to get a good start out of him.

Big Brother last night was ok. i got word of what is going to happen tonight. if it is correct, the last reason i had to watch the show will be evicted tonight. and the show will be down to a final 3 of 2 racists and a crying homosexual from Chicago. hard to imagine i actually keep watching this show.

The Bridge last night did a wonderful job of revealing a few more clues to the puzzle and transitioning to what should be a tension filled episode next week. of course, that would be if the previews are to be believed. still the best show i watch.

Duck Dynasty made me laugh as usual. mindless entertainment.

other than the Yankees and Big Brother tonight, i suppose i'll be watching some football, pro and college. i know my mom will be interested in the NFL game as long as the Jets are close. if it starts being a blowout she won't care. thankfully, i have no fantasy guys going this evening.

i think i have a pinched nerve in my left shoulder. it certainly makes typing fun. let alone masturbating. talk about finding the pleasure in the pain.

hard to believe training camps have opened for the NHL. i'm really interested in seeing how the Rangers react to a new coach, new system, new players, etc. hopefully they get Stepan signed soon and stay injury free for most of the season. i really hope AV is the breath of fresh air for them and this is the year i get to truly enjoy a playoff beard.

i believe that is all for today. i do hope you are enjoying life or the addiction of your choice wherever in the world these words may find you.

when the air makes it feel like you are wearing a sweater

summer is back with a vengeance i suppose with how this whole week looks like. humid as fuck. upper 80's to 90's. and i have to mow the grass. everyone wish me luck with my impending heat stroke.

the Yankees managed to snap their 10 game winning streak against Toronto last night. hopefully the team decides that after 13 losses for Phil Hughes, it might be time for him to come out of the rotation. they play again tonight. i imagine i will torture myself, at least until 10.

that's when Hard Knocks comes on HBO. considering this episode will cover a loss and some more cuts to the roster, it should be really good.

Monday Night Raw was excellent. the promo that AJ Lee gave destroying all the divas on Total Divas was perfect. the work of CM Punk, Paul Heyman, and Daniel Bryan continued to be top notch. another night where 3 hours really flew by.

saw a few more cats today when i fed them. i guess there must be a storm coming.

decided i would pass on watching the Champions League today and just listen to music and watch porn. i haven't checked the scores yet to see if i missed anything or not. i will be watching tomorrow though.

i've had the injury bug already hit my fantasy football team. the fucking season hasn't even started yet. not good.

that's pretty much all for today. i think i'm going to hop in the shower and get this damn humidity off of me.

just another Monday

let me peel back the onion a bit and give you a glimpse into my day. i'm out feeding the cats and i suddenly have the need to shit. do i go in the kitty litter? do i hold it and get back inside? i'm not an animal, so i made it back inside. and after a huge movement, just as i'm getting up from the bowl, i sneeze. and the sure force of the sneeze produces more shit falling right out of me. do you laugh? do you wonder how you can make this a poem? both? if you chose C, you are correct. why am i still single?

i did catch bits and pieces of the Yankees game last night. i'd like to thank those dumb asses in Boston for hitting A-Rod and waking up his teammates. hopefully this is the light bulb for the rest of the season. 9-6 win after being down 6-3 before A-Rod's response to getting hit. off today and then a doubleheader tomorrow. i'd love to sweep that doubleheader, but Phil Hughes is starting one of those games. my fingers are crossed for a split.

the shows last night were excellent. The Newsroom was brilliant. i can't wait to see what happens in the next episode. Ray Donovan was really good as well. Total Divas was probably the funniest episode of the season so far.

i did see the results of Summerslam last night. i'm a little disappointed but not dismayed. if the payoff to what happened last night is more CM Punk A+ matches and a huge feud between Orton, HHH, and Daniel Bryan... i'm all for it. i will definitely be tuned in to Monday Night Raw tonight to see what happens next.

i got 3 more cartoons and another illustration i need to write a poem for from my artist friend in Sweden today. i'm holding off on putting out the 3 cartoons until i hear back from the publisher i've contacted. i'd love for a book to come out with a ton of material that no one has seen before.

i did watch a little bit of Manchester City this afternoon. once their opponent got down to 10 men, i didn't bother to watch anymore. i hate to say it, but they looked good.

that's pretty much all for today... until tomorrow.

a good start to the weekend

as i bounced around tv shows last night, i couldn't help but notice the Yankees were winning. so, i once again fell into the trap of watching the game. Nova pitched great once AGAIN. but, when Mo blew the save for the second game in a row, i wasn't upset with him. i was upset with who the fuck ever put the CF in the wrong damn spot when Austin Jackson was up. besides, Mo gives up a home run to the best hitter on the planet, shit happens. in the 10th, i was pissed off enough to wake my mother up basically screaming why the fuck wouldn't Girardi pinch hit for Chris "i couldn't hit a 300 feet window with a bulldozer" Stewart. thankfully, the CF i was pissed off with in the 9th got the winning hit on the next play. it was a pissed off victory beer, but i enjoyed it.

after that, i sat down at the computer to study the 3 illustrations the artist from Sweden sent me that weren't related to any poems i had written. he asked if i could come up with something for them. 30 minutes later and i'm emailing him what i came up with. i woke up this morning to an email from him saying that he loved them. that makes 7 so far in our little collaboration. he said he's going to send some more soon. i figure once we get to 10 or so, i'll start looking for a publisher. if anyone reading this may be interested, feel free to contact me.

the Yankees play here in a few hours. Hughes is on the mound so my expectations are about as low as possible. other than that and some ROH late tonight, i have no clue what i will be watching today. i might break out the camera if the weather is decent enough and take some pictures. if i do, i'll post them sometime tomorrow.

saw news this morning that Wayne Rooney told his teammates he's going to Chelsea. i refuse to believe any of this shit until it happens. but if he does go there, i sadly believe that those pieces of shit will win the title this year. i would so love to be wrong about that.

i did watch a good portion of Smackdown last night. hard to believe that RVD can still wrestle they way he did 10 years ago. maybe even better. i'm so tempted to get the next PPV, but i won't. that's one of the upsides of being poor. you can always be tempted but reality has a foot on your neck. so the decision has already been made for you.

dodging bullets

i'm a little shocked we didn't get hit with some storms yesterday. we got a lot of wind and a little rain, but nothing close to what was expected. we did have a little cosmetic damage to the gutter on the hog barn. but, no trees down, no crops damaged... i'm tickled pink. of course, i could have done without the cold front coming through at 2 AM and locking my back up completely. that was fun.

a little heads up for everyone, i just heard from Paula Cary at poethound.blogspot.com that my book, Sofisticated White Trash, will be featured on the site on June 4th.

and while on the subject of the book, a special thank you to Doug Draime for the kind words. you have no idea how much that means to me coming from you.

thankfully, the Yankees weren't available for me to watch on television. and as soon as Phil Hughes gave up the grand slam, i quit following it online as well. a pathetic 11-1 loss. they play again tonight on ESPN. thank god i will have other things to watch.

i did catch a great deal of the NHL final four yesterday. these 2 series are going to be great as there is already plenty of hatred after game 1.

and i guess the NBA got what it wanted as well. amazing that Miami has turned into LeBron's old Cleveland teams in just a matter of days. game 7 should be interesting for a little while at least. of course, if the NBA wants absolutely no one to watch the finals, let Indiana win.

made it back from my sister's place yesterday in one piece. how the two of us come from the same DNA is amazing to me. complete opposite ends of the spectrum. love her just the same though, but man, she has more rich shit than i can even think of.

as for today, i believe i will take a nap to some NASCAR, hopefully watch team USA play better against Germany than they should, and  of course, my usual Sunday night programming to finish off the day. and if the Yankees actually win, a victory beer to cap it all off.

hope everyone is having a great weekend. until tomorrow...

2 days i'll never get back

other than 8 stellar innings pitched by Phil Hughes on Saturday, this weekend has been a complete waste of my life. i'll start with one of the very few positives....

the Yankees won on Saturday, 4-2. they of course followed that up today and lost 5-4. they lose the series and finish the home stand 7-3. and, as always as it seems these days, add another injury to the list. and i know, 7-3 isn't bad, but it's not as good as 8-2 would have looked. and today was a winnable game.

the New York Rangers lost a heart breaker on Saturday in overtime, 1-0. they can't score on the power play to save their lives. and at times they have looked completely lifeless. i hope MSG breathes some life into them on Monday, or this could be a very short playoff run.

Manchester United did show up today against Chelsea. but, since they have nothing to play for, they did exactly that. lost 1-0. a little irritating to see those blue fuckers celebrating at Old Trafford to say the least. it would have been nice to put a wrench into Chelsea finishing in the top 4. oh well.

i enjoyed the parts of Saturday Night Live i was awake for. the same goes for ROH.

i did watch the Kentucky Derby. the horse that i picked to win finished nowhere near the top. the horse that did win was one of the horses i liked, so there's that i guess.

i managed to get the trash out without wrenching my back. i suppose that's a positive.

we did get about 30 seconds of drizzle so far this weekend. thankfully, it looks like all the corn will be planted by tonight.

but since we've had a pretty good mixture of moisture and warm weather, it looks like i'll be mowing the grass long before i wanted to again. i suppose mom will like that for Mother's Day.

i really hope the Sunday night shows on HBO and Showtime lift my mood this evening. or, this could be one of my infamous angry sleeping nights. that usually makes for some interesting poetry. 4 hours of tossing and turning can do that at times. and that will absolutely suck if it happens, knowing there's about a thousand things i want to do on Monday. figures.

oh yeah, happy cinco de who gives a shit.

sometimes it rains so hard you can feel it in your bones

this post is brought to you by professional broadcaster, Primetime Sam Roberts. you can find episode 52 of his podcast, The Sam Roberts Show Online at iTunes, Stitcher, and at notsam.com. i'd also like to share a recent interview with Brooke Shields he did that i found pretty interesting.

always nice when the Yankees prove me wrong. they got some good pitching last night from Phil Hughes, a clutch hit from Ichiro (finally) and got the hammer of god to hold on in the 9th for a 4-3 win last night. probably the best win of the season so far. i was in and out of it for most of the game, but just happened to tune in when Ichiro got the hit. nice timing there. hopefully they can get the series win tonight.

as for the New York Rangers, they can't do anything easy to save their fucking lives. all they needed to do was beat one of the worst teams in the league and, given that Winnipeg lost last night, they would have been in the playoffs. so, they of course go out and lose 3-2. at least all they need is 2 damn points to get in now. no matter how hard they try, i can't see them being able to fuck that up.

i did catch most of The Voice last night. the knockout rounds should be cutthroat this season. i honestly believe this is probably the best talent they have had in any season so far.

as for Deadliest Catch, it once again showed why it's my favorite show on television. i can't wait to see how the backstabbing from last night plays out for the rest of the season.

a special thank you to BZ Niditch for the email. always nice to find out who is reading this blog when you actually had no clue they were.

the poet of the day on my Google+ page is Justin Hyde. Justin is one of the few poets that has come along in the last few years and absolutely blown me away with his work. do yourself a favor and do a quick search and enjoy.

we had a massive cold front move through last night. good thing i got the grass cut when i did. my back has been tighter than tight all day long. i know i'm in for a long one when stretching doesn't even help.

i did manage to type up the 2 poems i wrote the other day. i like them. i'll toss them into the soon to be sent out pile. i've got a few sitting around, enough for maybe 2 more submissions before the month is over.

these are the days where i'm happy i have satellite television

i have literally been glued to the television all day long. took a break to go into town to get the mail and taking a break now to do all of this; answering emails, taking surveys, checking fantasy rosters, etc.

when i went to bed last night i could see all the talking heads on the 24/7 news channels were so hoping the shootings last night were involved in the Boston bombings but they couldn't make that leap yet. so when i woke up this morning and saw they were connected, i knew this was going to be a day where i wouldn't get shit done. which sucks, because in my next post, some really big fucking news happened today.

following all this shit via social media has been fascinating to me today. i suppose i can truly now say that social media has really changed the world forever. i know, not earth shattering news there, but coming from a true non-believer in it, it's something.

big win by the New York Rangers last night, 6-1. power play looked better, Hank played huge, and a fight by John Moore(his first in the NHL) really got the boys going in the 3rd. all in all, i was pleased. another BIG game tonight in Buffalo. i'll be watching, simply so i quit watching the manhunt coverage.

the Yankees last night wasted a good performance from Phil Hughes and a game-tying HR from Cervelli to end up losing 6-2 in extra innings. one of those game where you simply turn the page and say shit happens. the next series starts tonight in Toronto.

the poet of the day on my Google+ page is A.D. Winans. i have read his work for years now. one of the few that really has seen it all in the small press. a quick Google search should give you plenty of poems to read.

stay tuned for my next post. a certain book might have been released on the world this morning.

playoff magic

i had my blog post already in mind, yet another fuck the Yankees rant and then it happened. playoff magic. Raul Ibanez, pinch hitting for A-Rod, ties the game in the bottom of the 9th with a home run. then, for the cherry on top, hits another one to win in the bottom of the 12th. not sure my mother liked the yelling and screaming past her bed time, but this shit never gets old.

so, after a night of great but short sleep, i think i have done everything i did yesterday. you know, i don't want to be the reason they lose. and don't worry, i've been like this since i was 5. music is the same, got the mail at the same time, had the same breakfast. now, it's up to Phil Hughes and the boys to do their part.

i suppose during commercial breaks i will check out some of the shows tonight and the NFL game.

and hopefully i can hold off on the fuck the Yankees rant for a few weeks.

the haps

this blog post is brought to you by The Sam Roberts Show Online #30. you can find the podcast on Itunes, Stitcher, or http://notsam.com/podcast.html. i highly recommend this episode. i also highly recommend Sam's YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/notsam. find out what all the buzz is about.

great job by the Yankees last night pissing away a chance to extend their lead on Baltimore. tough on Phil Hughes that his manager can't decide to go by the book or his gut and more times than not makes a fucking mess where it's not needed. doesn't help when the bullpen has a brain fart on top of things. fucking lovely.

my mother and sister should be coming home today from their southern vacation. can't wait to tell my mother all the things i decided to not bother her with on vacation. that should be fun.

i'm interested to see if Manchester United actually give a shit in their match today against Newcastle in the Capital One Cup.

that match starts in a little bit, so i'm out of here.

when the dew point is higher than the actual temperature

it's so ungodly sticky today. reminds me of my only trip to Florida as a child. was at a Days Inn in the Orlando area where one half of the hotel was in a thunderstorm and the other half was in the sun. we haven't got nearly as much rain as i would have loved to... but the holiday weekend is still young.

woke up this morning with my back in the normal pain for shitty weather. the pain in my left leg i couldn't figure out. given my past history with blood clots, there's always that haunting feeling in the back of my head. i did some stretching on my left hip and that seemed to do the trick. i figure given my luck, 36 and here comes arthritis. of course, the fun didn't really start until i was going out to feed the cats and the water jug i take out with me fell as i was changing my shoes and broke. water all over the mud room. just what i fucking need.

after breakfast watched Manchester United play. of course they didn't score first, but RvP comes to the rescue again. and of course they give up the next goal 10 minutes into the second half. now, i learned a lesson long ago watching Eric Cantona play that the magic always comes, but it will test your will to live until it does. so after RvP misses a pk (too cheeky for my liking) Sir Alex stands up, points at the watch and gives the look. and holy shit, for the millionth time i guess, here come the late goals. RvP with a garbage one and then the sweet header in extra time for a 3-2 win. 4 goals in 3 games. i guess the money was well spent.

so, while enjoying the post victory beer, i turn on the Yankees. they get off to a quick lead but given how this season has gone, that doesn't mean shit. Phil Hughes gives up a home run, but they get that run back the next inning. why Hughes was allowed to pitch to the same guy that homered off of him with runners on base is fucking beyond me. of course he hits a 3 run homer. and after the Yankees needed 5 fucking pitchers to get 3 outs in an inning, i turned away in disgust. what a fucking waste. now they have 7 games in a row on the road against the 2 teams on their heels. if they still have the division lead a week from now i'll be stunned.

thankfully, during the Yankee debacle it was another CR7 & Messi Sunday. a total treat to watch 2 of the greatest talents in the world put on another show. CR7 had 2 goals for Real Madrid. Messi was in passing mode but his teammates didn't have the precision dialed up today. Barcelona still won but it was bowling shoe ugly at times. of course, that is the blueprint against them if you want to have a chance.

tonight, i'm hoping it will rain to break the death grip humidity going on. but not hard enough to fuck with my DIRECTV signal. if it does, i guess i'll be working on my 3 fantasy football teams. i know 2 of them are good right from the start. i've already been offered trades. hopefully it's more than just wishful thinking on paper this year.

it fucking figures

i was having a pretty good day. got some decent sleep last night. watched team USA win gold in men's basketball in a highly entertaining game. my back was feeling great. the weather was as near to perfect as possible for late summer. and then the Yankees game started.

leave it to Phil Hughes, on a day where the team needed length from the starter and was 1 win away from a sweep of a last place team, to go out and throw batting practice. 4 innings and 7 runs in a 10-7 loss.

needless to say the rest of my day will be shit.

on a side note, did watch a good bit of the FA Community Shield this morning between two teams i hate. entertaining and vicious. now, if there only could have been more injuries and red cards...

the reunion of the Spice Girls isn't enough to make me want to watch the closing ceremony of the Olympics. so hopefully my Sunday night tv viewing will make me forget about a mediocre fastball to a damn near full AAA lineup.

a Tuesday in the blistering sun

Another day in the 90's. Heat index is supposed to hit at least 100 today. There's a rumor that it might rain on Wednesday. I'm not going to believe it until I actually see it.

I'm pretty proud of Phil Hughes. It really looks like he has turned the corner. Only 2 real mistakes last night, only one of them a home run. He's really cut down on his walks this year as well. It always helps when Raul "I may be 40 but i can still hit a 3-1 fastball a country mile" Ibanez hits a grand slam in the bottom of the 8th. Nice 6-3 win last night. Sucks for the Blue Jays that Joey Bats injured his wrist last night. Hopefully it means he'll miss the next 2 games but be back in time to crush the rest of the AL East.

Side note, the Yankees have scored more than 3 runs in 40 straight games. A team record for a single season. That kind of shocked me considering all the great teams in the past. Of course, according to my superstitious ass the streak will end now that I've talked about. CC comes back tonight, so hopefully they won't need a ton of runs in case it does.

My cat Rita Dove made a rare appearance this morning. I haven't seen it in over a week or so. Not sure what it was eating because it looks really good.

Chuckled as I watched Monday Night Raw last night. I'm really hoping the writers are smart enough to make John Cena the first guy to cash in the Money In The Bank contract and lose. As a fan of CM Punk for years now, I'd love this title run to continue for over a year. The 1000th episode is next week, I'm hoping for 3 hours of good memories and some great wrestling. I fear a lack of both as age takes a toll as the last month of stars coming back has shown.

Not exactly sold yet on this Big Brother cast but I'm slowly getting there. Just enough drama and stupidity that I can laugh myself to sleep each night. Now, if there was only a little slutty activity...

another fucking heatwave

It's 96 degrees outside. maybe it will rain again before I turn 37. maybe not.

I've got dishes to do but I've decided to wait until the sun goes down. probably right around the 3rd or 4th home run Phil Hughes gives up tonight.

other than the heat and people dying in car accidents, not much going on around here.

thankfully, my shipment from Amazon.com came in a day early.

monday morning reflections

well, Spain certainly showed me that my guts have shit for brains. they absolutely destroyed Italy. i think i can feel pretty safe in my thoughts that they are the greatest national team in history. all in all, a pretty good EURO 2012. in a few weeks club pre-season play starts, so i'll enjoy all the rumors in the meantime.

a little underwhelmed with what the New York Rangers did yesterday. i don't think they made any mistakes actually, just curious to see how it will all work out. it will be hard watching Brandon Prust wearing a Montreal sweater. good for him to get the money and i'm really hoping one of the kids can step up on the penalty kill.

was nice to see the Yankees get a split of the series with the White Sox. kudos to Phil Hughes for putting on his big boy pants for a change and showing the lessons he has learned over the years. to get shit on in the first and then last 7 more innings and allow basically nothing, in that heat, fucking impressive.

speaking of heat, the run of 90 + degree days continue. can't be long until the insanity begins i imagine. at least i'm hoping...

music ths morning:

a slow death

sat down at 1 to watch the Yankees. before i could get comfortable, the Braves are up 3-0. glad to see Phil Hughes revert back to the old version. then decided to go shave and shower. get all that done and the score is 6-1. instead of watching, i went and sent out some poems. get done with that and it's 6-4.

the Grandy man makes it 6-5. and then A-Rod steps up, runners on 1st and 3rd, a fucking fly ball ties the game and the asshole of course, hits into a double play.

and then came a slow death. defensive miscues, shitty pitching, an appearance by the human white flag Freddy Garcia and the Yankees lose 10-5.

YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

will pay a bit of attention to the NHL awards tonight. i'm hoping Hank can finally win the Vezina. will definitely make this Ranger fan very happy. also, will be nice to get the hockey juices going again with the draft and all the trade rumors heating up.

hotter than dog shit here today. no sight of rain. hopefully some tomorrow. any rain would help at this point. any.

music for today:

Prodigy - The Fat of the Land
Tom Waits - Bad As Me

sun shines on a dog's ass every once in a while

always nice to see Derek Jeter put the first pitch of the game in the seats. and whoever gave A-Rod some juice (wink, wink), a huge thank you. or maybe it's all to shut up Michael Kay. and kudos to Phil Hughes for popping his cherry and pitching a complete game. always nice to see Verlander look human from time to time.

tried to watch team USA vs. Canada tonight but man, what a bore. Canada totally got fucking hosed on a shit call that cost them a goal. the boys looked tired and disinterested, a deadly combination. hope they find some energy real fucking quick, as World Cup qualifying starts very soon.

watched the end of the Heat and Celtics tonight. glad to see the officiating still sucks. Dr. Evil Stern must love that both series are 2-2 now.

didn't get to see Tiger's comeback win, as a children's telethon was on instead. but from what i hear, he must have found some good pussy this weekend.

be sure to check out my new poem "a crisp spring day" at The Camel Saloon. it's a good one. last post for links.

spent part of the day putting together box furniture with my mother. i don't wish this on my worst enemy.

not much music today, but what i did listen to came from the soul.

Otis Redding - Otis Blue
Charles Bradley - No Time for Dreaming
