welcome to the weekend...

i have been up since 7:30 this morning. that wouldn't be so bad except i went to sleep around 4:15. 3 hours of sleep just doesn't feel the same at my age anymore. so, i'm hoping i'll get a nap in this afternoon.

the New York Yankees lost last night at home to the Dodgers, 2-1, in 11 innings. hopefully, they will find a way to win tonight.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both pretty good last night.

AEW Rampage was good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was very good last night.

Fantasmas was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Collision.

the USMNT takes on Colombia today in a friendly. it should be a good test for the upcoming Copa America.

tonight is Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.

i will probably watch some of the Belmont Stakes today as well.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

until then kids...

with no signs of letting up...

so, the smoke from the Canadian wildfires are still causing havoc. i have no clue if the Yankees are actually going to play that doubleheader against the White Sox or not. the air still looks crazy as fuck.

here are your highlights from Game 3 of the NBA finals last night. Denver won, 109-94, to go up 2-1 in the series against Miami.

AEW Dynamite was very good last night.

Mayans M.C. was excellent last night.

i did catch some of the MLS game last night between LAFC and Atlanta. there should have been nearly 10 goals scored in that game. how it finished 0-0 is beyond me.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW.

i suppose i will know for sure if the Yankees will be playing that doubleheader today against the White Sox when i get back home this afternoon.

Game 3 of the Stanley Cup final is tonight. Las Vegas is up 2-0 in the series. they play at Miami tonight.

i will hopefully write some poems today while mom is in her physical therapy session.

i should be on here tomorrow in the afternoon most likely.

to all my friends in the Northeast, if you don't have to be outside today, don't be.

so, i have a tornado to the north of me and another to the south... good times

i tweaked my back last night in the shower. well, technically, it was around 4 AM, so i guess you could say this morning. but, i have been moving like an old ass man all day long today. that is why the blog is late. grocery shopping today was a chore to say the least. but, i did get everything on the list.

the New York Rangers lost last night at Tampa, 4-1. the series is now 2-2. so, now, it is a best of 3. two of those games are at home for the Rangers. hopefully, they win them. if they play like they did last night at home, the series will end before Game 7.

the New York Yankees won last night at the Twins, 10-4. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

NXT was really good last night.

Deadliest Catch was excellent last night.

Holey Moley was crazy as usual last night.

Mayans was great last night. season finale is next week.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and AEW Dynamite.

Game 3 of the NBA Finals is tonight. i'll probably watch some of that.

mom told me today she is going to try to go to physical therapy tomorrow. i was pretty surprised that she feels like she can. of course, we'll see how she feels around noon tomorrow, if she is awake by then.

i really need to go ice my back, so that's all for me kids.

not bad for running on less than 4 hours of sleep...

i think i got to bed around 5:45 this morning. the phone was ringing constantly around 9:15 this morning. i said fuck it and got up. the fact that i haven't felt tired yet is somewhat amazing to me. although, i definitely could have taken a power nap while i was in the waiting room at the doctor's office. i always try to be early to appointments so maybe i can get in and out and on with my damn day. this time i wasn't lucky at all. i got there early and waited for over 30 minutes. and then i got called back, got my shot and was told i could go. wait over 30 minutes for about 2 minutes of what was needed. fuck me.

i went to Meijer after my appointment. the website said they had the things i was looking for. of course, the store didn't have shit. i did get a few things that mom needed. i got a few hits on the baseball cards i got today; a couple rookies and a nice heritage card i wasn't expecting...

NXT Takeover: In Your House was fucking great last night. i am so happy Io Shirai won the women's title last night.

Be Water was fascinating last night. i have always been a fan of Bruce Lee.

VICE was excellent last night.

Shelter in Place with Shane Smith was very good yesterday.

I Know This Much Is True was great last night. next week is the finale.

Insecure was very good last night.

I May Destroy You was pretty weird and really dark. i'm not sure if i'm going to love it or not, but i am going to watch the next episode.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

Hightown was pretty good last night.

Billions was excellent last night. the mid-season finale is next week.

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Axios, Fuck That's Delicious and Songland. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did listen to episode 294 of Notsam Wrestling this afternoon. you can find the podcast by going here: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/not-sam/sam-roberts-wrestling-podcast

i hope everyone had a good weekend.

mom wanted some wings yesterday for lunch so i had some Pizza Hut delivered. that was my lunch and dinner yesterday. i have no damn clue what i'm doing for dinner tonight.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow in the afternoon. if i get my ass in gear, it will be after i send some poems out.

that's all for me kids.

1-800-273-8255

when i woke up this morning and saw the news about Anthony Bourdain... it was like someone sucker punched me right in the nuts. there have been so many deaths here lately, that you damn near become numb to everything. but Anthony was a dude that made me laugh, think, truly lived a life, at least on camera, that i fucking envied. and then to find out he hung himself in a hotel room in France. to give you a shining example of just how fucking sick i am, my first thought was fuck, i need to lose weight because none of these light fixtures could hold me. as i always tell my mother, at least i will see all my friends again in hell.

so i have been in a bit of a fucking fog all day long. and my fuse has been extremely short. it's hot, humid and i have little time for the stupid, the inconsiderate and the impatient. if i can fake being level headed and calm, you can fucking wait for me to get the groceries in the vehicle before you start pulling into the parking spot. as i tell my mother all the time. if god gives me the sign, i will wipe out a good number of the human race as quickly as i can. she laughs, fearing that i'm telling the truth. i won't give my little secret away.

mom now uses the grocery store to get her walking in. she doesn't walk at a pace per se, i'd call it more of a mosey. i tend to shop in a manner that is more get what you need and get the fuck out. to say i'm a little frustrated is a fucking understatement.

i was not happy last night watching the Capitals win the Stanley Cup. i didn't watch the cup come out. i didn't watch the commissioner get booed. i didn't watch that prick Ovechkin lift it up. to know they won it and how far the New York Rangers have to go to win it again... i get the feeling if i ever see the Rangers win the Stanley Cup again, my life will be just like the sign i saw when they won it in 1994. Now I Can Die in Peace. here are your highlights from the tragedy that was Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW, Major League Wrestling, Real Time with Bill Maher and Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas.

the New York Yankees start the Subway Series tonight at the New York Mets. hopefully the Yankees will keep on winning.

Game 4 of the NBA Finals is tonight. i'd be mildly surprised if there is a Game 5.

i will probably be on here tomorrow in the morning. most likely before the USA men's national team plays a friendly against France. i doubt i want to be blogging right after that game.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i'm fucking spent.

i'm tired of being busy...

nothing i planned today went off like i wanted. i know that's called life, but... i am happy that i haven't got too fucking frustrated, although i haven't gone to the grocery store yet.

i did write 7 poems last night. i really like most of them. i'm going to try to get a submission or two out sometime next week.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching from CC last night and plenty of offense to beat Boston 8-0. hopefully they get the series win this evening.

NXT was really good last night. i really hope they have a feud planned between Hideo Itami and Kassius Ohno. i will gladly watch that for as long as they want me to.

Lucha Underground was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight.

the USA Men's National Team plays a very important World Cup Qualifier tonight against Trinidad & Tobago. this is a MUST win game considering they have to play at Mexico on Sunday.

Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. if Nashville is winning, i might watch some of it.

i wasn't too pleased with mom's therapist today. she didn't have her calendar with her, so she thought she was supposed to be here at 2, instead of 3. so she sat there and watched mom and i eat lunch at 2:30 when she arrived. and what really pissed me off is she is telling mom to do things differently than the other therapists have told her. if mom actually was paying for any of this, i would be fucking furious.

i did make a trip to the bank today. the one cute teller was there again and remembered me. one of these days i'll be in the right mood to have a conversation.

i also had to go to this place we used to shop at when we lived on the farm to find some birdseed. i was hoping to get a better wind chime while i was there, but none of them looked sturdy enough for the winds we get out here.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this morning. you can check that out by going here: http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2017/6/8/wrestling-podcast-137-cody-rhodes

that's all for me today kids. i got the dishes done so we will actually have clean utensils when i cook dinner after i get home from the grocery store. wish me fucking luck going to the grocery store at this hour.

what a difference a day makes...

i was a little anxious before the USA vs. Costa Rica game yesterday. and then i saw the head of US Soccer come out and in vague terms say that if "we" don't start winning, the coach will be fired. i loved it. being part German, i knew exactly how the coach and team would react. now, for the first 7 minutes or so, Costa Rica had them buried in their own half. and then came the penalty kick. it was a good call and i was happy to see Clint Dempsey taking it. he buried it to put the USA up  1-0. the goal also gave him 50 international goals. he and Landon Donovan are the only USA players to reach that mark in their careers. before the end of the first half, Jermaine Jones and Bobby Wood scored to put the USA up 3-0 at half. i was hoping some of the kids would play in the second half, but i think Jurgen was giving all us fans the finger by putting in 3 veterans. in the end, the USA won 4-0. they now control their own destiny in the group.
the USA will play Paraguay on Saturday. if they win, they will advance. if they draw, they will most likely advance. if they lose, they are eliminated. and since they seem to only play good when their backs are against the wall, they are in a good spot.

Colombia defeated Paraguay 2-1 last night. they will be a tough team to knock out of this tournament. the games tonight are Brazil vs. Haiti and Ecuador vs. Peru.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching last night and some offense to go along with it. what a fucking concept. they defeated the Angels 6-3. hopefully more of that will happen tonight.

Deadliest Catch was pretty interesting last night.

Maya & Marty was pretty damn funny last night.

two victory beers allowed me to get almost 5 hours of sleep last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground. i'll be watching NXT Takeover: The End on WWE Network for most of the evening. i'm really looking forward to the steel cage match between Samoa Joe and Finn Balor.

i did listen to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. i highly recommend his interview with Matt Sydal. it's a great one.
you can find it by going here: http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2016/6/8/wrestling-podcast-85-matt-sydal

the weather is pretty damn amazing here today. sunny and a light breeze, high in the low 70's. damn near perfect. we've actually got the windows open. so, of course, the damn grass just had to be mowed. fuck this neighborhood. time to go feed the birds and find some more annoying wind chimes.

i doubt i watch much of the NBA Finals tonight. if it is close late, i might flip to it. but i doubt it.

i did see Manchester United made their first signing of the summer.
Eric Bailly. young defender that many people think will turn into a world class centerback one day. music to my fucking ears.

that's all for me today kids. i'm going to go outside and play in traffic. as much traffic as a cul-de-sac can possibly have...

some quick hits

i changed my mind and decided to blog this morning as i want to get some sleep tonight. what a concept.

so here are some quick hits...

got an email this morning saying my poem "pour the blues" was published in Miracle Magazine #7, The Flower edition. you can purchase a copy of the issue here:
http://miracleezine.wix.com/miracle-e-zine#!shop/csgz

and you can find a preview of the issue here:
http://issuu.com/miracleezine/docs/issue_7preview

i did manage to stay up to watch ROH last night. i did mark out a little bit when Kevin Steen came out to confront Mike Bennett. and the more i see Red Dragon perform as a tag team, the more i really think they are one of the best teams in the world. a really good episode.

watched Tori Amos and Shovels & Rope on PBS last night. made me think about the 2 times i've seen Tori live. i'm hoping to catch Shovels & Rope sometime in the near future. their set on Austin City Limits did not disappoint.

most of the college football games late last night were blowouts. i'm still a little stunned at how easy Florida St. destroyed Clemson. i didn't see that coming.

i've got my fantasy football lineups ready to go. nearly half of both of my teams are playing this evening in the Broncos at Colts game. that will make tv viewing this evening a little interesting.

should go something like this; football, Boardwalk Empire, Eastbound and Down, back to football, Homeland, Masters of Sex, over to the NFL network to watch highlights.

i have a decent lead in fantasy hockey going into the last night of the matchup. hopefully when i get back on here late this evening i will have won.

that's all for now. i have trash to pick up and get down to the end of the lane, a Sunday paper to read, cats to feed, and some football pregame shows to watch.

hope this finds everyone well. enjoy your Sunday. it's in the 30's here. and that's in the sun. i guess we're just going to skip right to winter. lovely.

a good start to the weekend

as i bounced around tv shows last night, i couldn't help but notice the Yankees were winning. so, i once again fell into the trap of watching the game. Nova pitched great once AGAIN. but, when Mo blew the save for the second game in a row, i wasn't upset with him. i was upset with who the fuck ever put the CF in the wrong damn spot when Austin Jackson was up. besides, Mo gives up a home run to the best hitter on the planet, shit happens. in the 10th, i was pissed off enough to wake my mother up basically screaming why the fuck wouldn't Girardi pinch hit for Chris "i couldn't hit a 300 feet window with a bulldozer" Stewart. thankfully, the CF i was pissed off with in the 9th got the winning hit on the next play. it was a pissed off victory beer, but i enjoyed it.

after that, i sat down at the computer to study the 3 illustrations the artist from Sweden sent me that weren't related to any poems i had written. he asked if i could come up with something for them. 30 minutes later and i'm emailing him what i came up with. i woke up this morning to an email from him saying that he loved them. that makes 7 so far in our little collaboration. he said he's going to send some more soon. i figure once we get to 10 or so, i'll start looking for a publisher. if anyone reading this may be interested, feel free to contact me.

the Yankees play here in a few hours. Hughes is on the mound so my expectations are about as low as possible. other than that and some ROH late tonight, i have no clue what i will be watching today. i might break out the camera if the weather is decent enough and take some pictures. if i do, i'll post them sometime tomorrow.

saw news this morning that Wayne Rooney told his teammates he's going to Chelsea. i refuse to believe any of this shit until it happens. but if he does go there, i sadly believe that those pieces of shit will win the title this year. i would so love to be wrong about that.

i did watch a good portion of Smackdown last night. hard to believe that RVD can still wrestle they way he did 10 years ago. maybe even better. i'm so tempted to get the next PPV, but i won't. that's one of the upsides of being poor. you can always be tempted but reality has a foot on your neck. so the decision has already been made for you.

until tomorrow or later tonight (in case i need to vent or amaze myself with some photo action)

any day Manchester City loses has to be good

at least one would think so. got the mail today and inside was the results from the Rattle poetry contest i entered a little while back. a big congratulations to someone not me. actually, someone i have never heard of before. not really shocking to me. i figured i would take a chance, disregarding knowing that i never get rewarded for taking chances. on the bright side, i have 4 new poems to send out again. i will get a good laugh when all 4 get published somewhere else. insert a line about taste in poetry and an asshole here.

had lunch again with my mother and went grocery shopping with her today. 2 days in a row spent with her. not sure if she's planning on not coming back from her vacation or what. thankfully, people watching does tend to take my mind off of rejection. of course, helps when i get home and see that Manchester City lost. that helps more.

and to see that it was CR7 that had the winning goal late made it even a little more sweeter. hopefully Manchester United can win tomorrow and get the Champions League off on the good foot.

the Yankees got pissed on by mother nature tonight and now have a day/night doubleheader tomorrow. not sure if i like that or not. all depends on the pitching i suppose. if they get 2 wins, i'll be happy. a split, not so much. that all changes if Baltimore happens to lose tonight. if they win, the division is tied again. fun fun fun.
