happy birthday to me...

so, i turned 45 today. my sister called this morning to wish me a happy birthday and to remind me i'm old. that made me laugh as she is only 18 months younger than i am.

i took mom to her foot doctor today. we got there early and it went pretty fast. he's retiring soon, so she has to go to a new one before too long. after that, we decided to try out this BBQ place on the way home. it had been years since we had been there. they have a drive-thru now, so we decided to do that. i had the brisket sandwich and my mother got some smoked wings. i have to say, Company 7 BBQ has some really fucking good food.

NXT was really good last night.

AEW was pretty good last night as well.

The Masked Dancer was good last night.

Name That Tune was excellent last night. i think i shocked my mother at how fast i recognized some of the songs.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon, B Positive, The Unicorn, Total Bellas and Cari & Jemele Won't Stick to Sports. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i did watch a good portion of Liverpool losing today. that me really fucking happy.

i figure if i get bored tonight, i'll flip over to some hockey and/or NBA basketball.

i should be on here tomorrow before my sister comes down for the weekend.

thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. i really appreciate it.

and thanks to everyone for checking out my latest SoundCloud recording:

elimination and nostalgia

i was driving home from the bar yesterday when the Yankees were finally eliminated from having any chance to make the playoffs this season. sadly, i was not surprised but i was happy in some sick sense. perhaps now the team will make some changes; philosophy, players, management, SOMETHING... i can only imagine what would happen if The Boss was still running the show. now, the last 4 games of this season will be about Derek Jeter, not that the previous 158 weren't all about him. if they actually get the game in tonight, it will be somewhat surreal to know that this is the final home game of his career. a big thank you to the Captain for a great 20 years. there will be plenty of moments to remember for the rest of my life.

i had a good time yesterday at the sports bar catching up with Paul, my best friend from high school. it definitely brought back the memories. he's coming over to the farm this weekend for the Ohio State game.

the Yankees lost 9-5 yesterday by the way. Jeter went 0-4. i have to think he's not going to do that again tonight. of course, it would be the 2014 Yankees if he did.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. the look of shock on the faces when they found out Derrick is a cop was priceless. i enjoyed it even more when Frankie didn't win America's Favorite Player. the look on that asshole's face will have me laughing for months. i wonder how long until Cody realizes he made a $450,000 mistake by not blindsiding Derrick in the end. i saw that the show got renewed for another 2 seasons. guess i'll be enjoying this guilty pleasure when i'm 40.

The Bridge was great last night. i absolutely can't wait for the season finale next week for two reasons. one, it looks like it is going to be an edge of your seat season finale. and two, it means American Horror Story is one week away.

i'll be making a trip to the grocery store this afternoon to hopefully pick up my pills and get some supplies for this weekend (beer, chips, etc.). plus, i do believe we need some shit for the animals out here. thankfully, i think Tractor Supply is having a sale.

tonight starts the NFL week with a game i couldn't give two shits about. i probably won't watch much of it as there are some good college games on as well. this is assuming that the Yankees game is going to be in a rain delay for god knows how long.

i saw on tv this morning that it is National One Hit Wonder Day. that certainly brought back nearly all the music i listened to in the 80's to mind. let alone the drivel in the 90's that falls under that. here is probably my favorite one hit wonder of all time:

that's pretty much it for me today. i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the doctor's and getting my blood drawn. that's always fun.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

where do the hours go

i'm currently running on about 3 hours of sleep. needless to say, i will be a little extra cranky while watching the New York Rangers tonight.

let's go back to yesterday shall we...

the New York Yankees split a doubleheader, winning game 1 and giving away game 2. they won the series and are in first place, so i guess it's ok. they are off tonight and start a series in Chicago tomorrow.

i somehow made it through all the Sunday night shows, even though it took me forever. Total Divas was good, but scripted beyond belief last night. Nurse Jackie was good once again. Californication really had me laughing last night. Penny Dreadful had a HOLY SHIT ending. easily, the best show on tv right now. Last Week Tonight was brilliant. as for Silicon Valley and Veep, i enjoyed both of them. but, i was so damn tired, i have no idea if i was laughing because it was funny or i was delirious.

on to today...

Manchester United officially hired Louis van Gaal as manager today. he takes over once he is done coaching the Netherlands in the World Cup. he is a no non-sense kind of guy, so it will be interesting. Ryan Giggs was appointed his number 2, so that means the end of his playing career. but, hopefully in 3 years he is taking over the club for the next 20 or so. this will certainly make for an interesting silly season with all the rumors.

the New York Rangers play Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals tonight. Montreal announced that their starting goalie is out for the rest of the series. hopefully the Rangers take advantage of this HUGE opportunity. i expect tonight to be a nasty game as i'm sure Montreal will want some revenge for their goalie being injured (on an accidental play mind you). as long as the Rangers win and no one gets injured, i couldn't care what kind of game it is.

also tonight (all at the same time) are The Voice, Monday Night Raw, and Louie. hopefully the hockey ends at a decent time so i get to watch some of the other shows. looks like a night i'll be spending on YouTube.

i happened to do a little writing today. penned 5 poems in a little over 30 minutes today. so, with the one i wrote over the weekend, i typed up 6 poems this afternoon. i think i have a few winners in the batch.

a big thank you to everyone with their comments and reaction to my poem "all the damn yesterdays". i really appreciate it.

after feeding the animals today, i had to spray for insects in the cellar and around the house. that's always fun in a strong ass breeze. thankfully i didn't get any on me.

that's all for today kids. i need to get some dinner and get my mind in the right place for the game tonight. hope everyone had a great weekend. i'll be on here tomorrow sometime.

peace and chicken grease...

been a busy boy today

since i chose to sleep last night instead of typing like a bleary eyed asshole at 3 in the morning, i had plenty of typing to do this morning. i managed to get it all done in a few hours. a little faster than i expected actually. i sent out 21 poems today, 6 to ZYX and 3 each to Pyrokinection, Napalm and Novocain, The Camel Saloon, Dead Snakes, and Pink Litter. a big thank you to A.J. for getting back to me so quickly on my submissions to Pyrokinection and Napalm and Novocain. as an old school fucker in this game, i'm still wrapping my head around submitting some work and finding out in a few hours if it was accepted or not. i suppose the days of mailing them out and waiting for weeks are just about over. i still know a few places that still go the old school way. anywho, when i hear back from the other places, i will pass along the verdicts here.

the sun has managed to appear today. briefly. it's still cold as shit for May, but at least it looks bright and warm. of course, i still have the heat on in the house.

the Yankees got much better pitching last night than i was expecting to win 1-0 over the Mets. hard to believe that was the first 1-0 game in the history of the Subway Series. at least the Yankees got a split this year. tonight's game with the Pirates has been rained out already. so, they are going to play a doubleheader on Sunday. should be interesting to see how they set up the pitching for that.

i spent a good portion of last night playing music educator to a friend. she basically only knows certain kinds of music and artists. so i'm going to have some fun exposing her to the VAST range of music i listen to each day.

the season finale of The Big Bang Theory was interesting. should give the writers plenty of room to move around with the characters for next season.

not sure what i'm going to watch tonight other than Game 7 between the Ducks and the Kings. that should be a fun one to watch.

i probably will not be on here tomorrow until after the Rangers game and maybe even after the horse race. tomorrow looks like wall to wall sports that i give a shit about. between the FA Cup, the Eastern Conference Finals in hockey, The Preakness, baseball, etc... i'll have to carve out a few moments for this blog sometime before the sun goes down.

i do hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully your weekend has started early and you're in the process of getting hammered as you read this. or maybe i just gave you a great idea.

until tomorrow, peace and chicken grease...

the thrill of victory

i believe my adrenaline is still running high from last night. the New York Rangers slayed another demon to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in three years. the 2-1 victory over the crybaby Penguins last night was beautiful. the King stood on his head and became the first goalie in NHL history to win 5 straight game 7's. and when you think of all the great goalies that have played this sport, that's an accomplishment. they'll find out tonight who they play on Saturday. i think we have a better chance against Montreal though i would LOVE to beat Boston in the playoffs. below are the highlights from Game 7:
8 wins to go. halfway to the ultimate goal. The Stanley Cup.

also on the good/great news front, my health situation seems to have returned to normal. normal color. normal texture. not sure what the fuck i had but i am thrilled it is gone.

the Yankees last night got no pitching at all and lost 12-7. Tanaka goes tonight so they might have a chance. i'm really happy i didn't sit through that shit last night. injuries are slowly killing this team.

we are under a Tornado Watch until 9 tonight. so you might notice my music this afternoon has a bit of a theme. i did a little poetry work this afternoon and came up with 21 poems to send out, probably on Friday. i was a little surprised that i had that many poems sitting around.

i got 2 out of the 3 finalists correct on The Voice. i believe everyone knows that Christina made it because of all her YouTube fans. it will be a crime if she wins it all. Jake and Josh are much better than she is.

Deadliest Catch was pretty damn good last night. i have also started watching the show after it, Alaskan Bush People. i imagine i might get a few poems from that show.

on top of watching some playoff basketball and hockey tonight, i will be watching the final 2 episodes of Legit for this season. should be yet another busy night, as long as the storms cooperate.

and speaking of the weather, the skies are getting dark so i'm going to close up shop. hope this finds everyone well. if you enjoy this blog, tell a friend. or send me money. that will work as well.

peace and chicken grease my enemies. until tomorrow, long after i have erased the backlog of victory beers.

it all comes down to this

there are no words that mean more to a sports fan than Game 7. it's life or death. win or go home. as a fanatic that lives and dies with each game, tonight is a big one. the New York Rangers have the chance to do something they have never done before, two things actually. they have never come back from being down 3-1 in a series to win. and they have never defeated the Penguins in the playoffs. and even with the NHL assigning the same shitty officials from game 6 for this game tonight, i have a good feeling about it. and there is nothing i would like to see more than watching that crybaby pussy Sidney Crosby skate off a fucking loser once again and be out of the playoffs. game starts at 7.

my health is starting to take a turn for the better, i guess. my first shit of the day wasn't dark green. it was a lighter shade, so hopefully i'm rounding toward brown. no sprints to the toilet, so maybe whatever the fuck that was causing that has moved on.

the Yankees last night blew two different 3 run leads to lose to the fucking Mets 9-7. needless to say, i won't bother with them tonight.

Monday Night Raw was good but was overshadowed by the news that Daniel Bryan has to have neck surgery. they haven't stripped him of the title yet, so that makes me believe that the company hopes that it won't be long. it totally sucks as he has busted his ass so hard to get to this spot only to have this happen. if he is out long, hopefully this forces the company to start pushing some new guys. PLEASE.

The Voice was ok last night. i honestly only watched snippets of the performances. if i had it my way, the final 3 would be Josh, Jake, and Kristen.

i'm going to try to fit in some of The Voice tonight as well as Deadliest Catch, but tonight is all about Game 7.

i did catch the last few minutes of LeBron's 49 points last night. i love that he was pissed that he didn't get to 50.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i could be so damn happy that i drink myself to oblivion tonight. or i could be so damn sad or mad that i start shaving off the playoff beard and don't stop. i'll guess sometime in the afternoon, but who knows.

congrats to Rio on 12 great years at Manchester United. you will be missed.

i'm off to go get my mind ready. worked up a special batch of crazy at iTunes for tonight's game. you'll see that below. until tomorrow my enemies...

misery, hello (use your best Larry King voice)

so, when i should have been sleeping last night, i was writing. and out of nowhere, 3 poems just sort of appeared in my new notebook. that made me laugh, as i was dead fucking tired. so, i finally fell asleep at 4 and was up at 8 this morning. but, since my dumbass never has changed my clock that goes ahead 40 minutes by itself, it was actually 7:20. anywho, i felt good enough and started checking email, etc. around 9, i was fixing breakfast and the powers that be decided to catch up with me. so, what i thought was just a little fart was an unleashing of god knows what out of my body. and since there is a massive cold front trying to get through here... as i start to wipe my back decides to start to lock up. given that my mother was away at work, i knew i couldn't make it to where she came home to her son prone on the bathroom floor. not for a few years at least. so i've been doing my best to win this battle with misery today, but that cold bitch is winning by a mile.

i did watch a good bit of the NFL Draft last night. i was happy with what the Saints did. always good to get Drew Brees another toy to have fun with. now, hopefully they sure up the defense and the offensive line.

the Rangers play a MUST WIN game tonight in Pittsburgh. as of right now, i have no clue if Marty St. Louis is going to play or not. his mother died last night. and as much as i would love to see the team bond together and win one for him, this is more likely to be a scenario where they feel sorry for themselves and get killed tonight. i really hope i am wrong as i don't feel like getting rid of the playoff beard just yet.

The Big Bang Theory was really good last night. and it should set up for a big season finale next week.

the Yankees play tonight in Milwaukee. Tanaka is on the mound, so i will be sure to catch most of it.

i've been in between naps and signing up for different shit online (sbnation.com and bleacherreport.com). lord knows i don't consume enough information each day.

the guy who farms out here got the corn planted before it tried to rain this morning. i wish it would have as that would have been an excellent start for those seeds.

that's all for me today. i haven't eaten lunch today yet and i really have to to take my pills. so, yeah. i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. it will definitely be sometime in the afternoon.

hope everyone has a great weekend. hope your back is feeling better than mine. and hopefully i won't be bitter when i'm writing tomorrow.

revenge of the dead moles

the past 30 hours or so have been miserable. strap in kids, as i'm going to take you on a little ride.

so, yesterday i was out feeding the birds when i came across a dead mole. that was obviously the work of Kit Kat as she is the only cat we have that doesn't eat what she kills. within two minutes, i roll my fucking ankle on some earth that the fucking moles were digging in. and i rolled it enough that i needed ice and could barely walk the rest of the day. so, that basically ended any hopes i had to mow as i could barely hit the gas pedal when i took down the trash. and today i busted open my left leg while in the hog barn looking for the kittens that Whitey just had. i believe she had 3. made sure i cleaned the cut and got some Neosporin on it as god knows what kind of 100 years old shit was on what i hit. good times.

so i had the misfortune of watching the Yankees yesterday. a 5-1 loss that CC couldn't get out of the 4th inning. holy shit. thank god Aceves was able to eat up the rest of the innings. they play tonight out in California. they hardly ever play well at the Angels, so i'll avoid the game for as long as possible.

the New York Rangers lost 3-0 last night. if The King wouldn't have been on, it would have been something around 7-0. they play game 3 tonight, which i believe is like the Rangers 5th game in 7 days. i'd like to think they will win tonight, but they looked tired as fuck last night. i just hope they get off to a good start and the crowd can pump some energy into the team.

given my anger i had last night, i was able to make it through all the shows. Nurse Jackie had a good ending that will set up next week perfectly. Californication was brilliant as always. Silicon Valley made me laugh. plus, i love graffiti art. Veep was really fucking funny, especially the bar scene. Last Week Tonight was great. and i loved the piece on the death penalty. Years of Living Dangerously was perfect last night. i'm constantly amazed by these fuckers on the right who don't believe in science but will willfully put their faith in god, just because. once again, i understand why so many of my friends are atheists. Total Divas was pretty funny, but more in the i've been a pro wrestling fan for 35 years and that's the only reason i'm watching this kind of way.

as for tonight, i will somehow try to fit in The Voice, Monday Night Raw, and a new season of Louie around the Rangers playoff game and the Yankees on the west coast. another late night and another night on YouTube i imagine.

speaking of YouTube, i believe i have my next video planned out. now, it's just getting off my lazy ass and shooting it.

probably the only thing that has brought me joy in the last 2 days was watching Liverpool blow a 3 goal lead to Crystal Palace. watching those assholes cry on the pitch made me cackle with joy. of course, that means Manchester City is most likely going to win the Premier League this year. but, as a Manchester United supporter, i look at it like this. the last time Shitty won the title, United won it the next year with ease. so, hopefully history shall repeat itself.

i woke up in a bit of a mood this morning. my music selections today at iTunes make no sense to anyone other than me. you'll see those below.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime after the Manchester United game. hope this finds everyone well.

well, the New York Rangers got the shit beat out of them last night, on the ice and in the stands. but, the best way to get a 5-2 loss out of your system is to play tonight in a winner take all game 7. as usual, i will be completely wired in and in full fucking voice tonight. i have the feeling that mom will be pissed off at me at some point tonight.

the New York Yankees made Seattle actually look like a good baseball team last night. amazing what some shitty pitching will do to a team. they lost 6-3 but at least made things interesting in the bottom of the 9th. they are rained out tonight, so at least we will miss their best pitcher this series.

so with that rain out, all my attention will be on the 3 game 7's in the NHL tonight. plus, i will try to sneak in Legit and Ali G. as well.

i was a little shocked at who went home on The Voice last night. Bria was done in by a poor performance and getting away from what she did best. i was stunned that Tess was in the bottom 3 again. of course, that could be my dick talking as she is fucking beautiful. neither had a chance with Kat somehow in the bottom 3 as well. how Delvin and Jake are still around is a mystery to me. i think my favorite 3 are Sisaundra, Josh, and Kat. and they should finish in that order at the end as well.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night. that's some crazy shit trying to fix a light 60 feet in the air with winds whipping at 55 miles per hour. CRAZY. one of the best shows on television.

be sure to check out the podcasts on the right side of this blog page. plenty of shit there to keep you entertained for hours. and if you do enjoy this blog, tell a friend. SUBSCRIBE. tell more friends...

had a good bit of fun this morning putting the finishing touches on a comic that Janne Karlsson came up with. i put some words to it and quite honestly, it is fucking hilarious. if it doesn't get published by someone, i may have to come up with the money to get it out there. hopefully i will be sharing something with you soon.

mom and i did go out to lunch today. since the plan was for her to drive home, i had a few drinks. she started complaining about a headache midway through lunch, so i switched over to water, knowing i would be driving home. of course, 20 minutes ago she decides she's going to drive to the store because she just has to get back to doing things. hopefully she'll be fine, though i'll certainly be waiting for a phone call, just in case.

that is all for today. i'll be up late tonight watching hockey. maybe a little playoff basketball. who knows. of course, if the Rangers lose i'll be shaving and going to bed early, PISSED THE FUCK OFF. let's all hope that doesn't happen.

be well. be creative. be the little fucker that pisses off your neighbors.

peace my enemies...

imagine the joy i felt this afternoon when i went into the cellar this afternoon and a corner of it was basically under water. good times. thankfully, i remembered the old tricks with the sump pump and wiggled the pipe and it finally started to drain. do you think i am looking forward to moving?

i'm trying to type this before my night of sports and shitty weather begins.

i did watch a good portion of The Voice last night. i didn't like a couple of performances but i have no clue who will be in the bottom 3. should make for an interesting elimination show this evening.

Monday Night Raw started off creepy as hell and i absolutely loved it. the way they are using Bray Wyatt is damn near perfect. i would have enjoyed the whole Daniel Bryan/Brie/Kane shit if i wouldn't have seen it a decade ago. overall, a good episode heading into a ppv.

tonight the New York Rangers look to close out the series with the Flyers. i'm really hoping they pull it off tonight as i don't want to see a game 7.

also tonight, the Yankees take on the Mariners and Robinson Cano. i'm interested to see what kind of reaction he gets but not much more than that. hopefully the Yankees can keep the winning going.

and finally tonight, i need to make some room for Deadliest Catch and if i somehow remember, Fargo as well. i'm bound to miss something tonight, i'm sure.

had to get some cat food today and the order of fries that McDonald's didn't give me yesterday. and since the rain is supposed to be pretty bad the next couple of days, mom and i filled up some water jugs so we wouldn't have to do it in the rain. mom is going to try driving tomorrow. i'm going to be with her as i want to make sure she's ok before i let her start doing shit on her own again.

looks like the NBA has a new commish with some balls. that should make for an interesting league for years to come. i'll try to sneak in some playoff basketball tonight as well.

i'm a little concerned that it got as warm as it did here today. that usually leads to some nasty as storms at night. that's never fun.

that's all for me folks. hope this finds everyone well. now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

after reading my post from yesterday, i realized i completely forgot to mention that i heard back from Russell at The Camel Saloon on my recent poetry submission. he decided to pass. i like getting rejected from time to time. it tends to light my fire once again. i've written 2 poems today so far. i imagine there might be some more, especially if i get to drinking.

the New York Rangers reversed their trend from the last few playoff seasons and actually WON game 5 at home for a change. a 4-2 win that was fairly satisfying, regardless of how shitty the refs were. and believe me, they FUCKING SUCKED. and my team won. i can't imagine what the Flyers' fans thought of them. game 6 is Tuesday night in Philly. hopefully the boys can get it done in 6 (like i predicted).

i did catch a good portion of ROH last night. sadly, sleep won out for most of the show. but, thanks to the internet, i already know what happened.

as for tonight, it's my usual buffet on Sunday night for the television, plus i want to check out John Oliver's new show on HBO. i have no clue how i'm going to mix it into my schedule, but i figure i'll find a way.

the Yankees play the Sunday night game on ESPN tonight. i'll probably catch a few innings before the Sunday night shows start. hopefully they can get the win and win another series.

this weekend's weather has been much better than all those fucking experts on tv said it was going to be. i probably should have mowed the grass today, especially if we get all this damn rain in the coming week that the "experts" are saying we will. of course, i didn't, so i'm essentially rolling the fucking dice. i never win these games.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after i mail some poems at the post office. i need to get my last submission (most likely) for national poetry month out there.

hope everyone has a great end to their weekend. or a less shitty one than you expected.

peace and chicken grease my enemies. i've got dishes to do, towels to put away and a dinner to make. the life of a poet taking care of his mother. you can just imagine what the next set of poems are going to be like.

pleasantly shocked

before i get to the glee i woke up to this morning, here are your links for national poetry month:

i was pleasantly shocked this morning that Manchester United FINALLY got rid of David Moyes. when i read that they only had to pay him 1 year of the 5 years he had left on the contract because the club didn't qualify for the Champions League next year, i knew it then made financial sense to dump him. now, i'm not happy that the guy i want to replace him has already said no, but i'm pretty damn sure whoever they get will do better. Ryan Giggs will manage the team for the last 4 games. i'm sure the players will actually respect him.

i did catch a good portion of The Voice last night. i have no clue who is going home tonight. the talent this season is really fucking amazing.

Monday Night Raw started off with a brutal beating of Daniel Bryan that cast quite the shadow on the rest of the show. of course, i found out after the show that his dad died suddenly and i suppose they needed to write him out for a week for the funeral, etc. makes sense in hindsight. i didn't agree with RVD going over Cesaro. he's way too good to be in a mid card feud with Jack Swagger.

tonight is an impossible night of television for me. somehow, i'm going to try to flip between the Yankees at Red Sox, Rangers at Flyers, The Voice, and Deadliest Catch. plus, other playoff games in hockey and basketball. now, i know there's no fucking way i'm going to pull this off, but i will try.

took my mother out to the store today to get her meds that the doctor called in and some other shit we needed. she feels bad that i have to help her, so she bought me some rum. i'm just enough of an asshole to not say no. the bleeding has stopped for her, finally. she does believe she has lost most of her hearing in her left ear. i keep telling her to give it time, etc. i don't think she's in the mood for pep talks. oh well, at least she's slowly getting better. she's going to have a nasty scar though behind her ear. i get the feeling i'm going to call her van Gogh at some point.

saw this last night and it made me laugh

hope everyone is doing well. until tomorrow kids. take your vitamins, eat your veggies and pray to whatever the fuck you please.

peace and chicken grease...

another one gone too soon

here's your national poetry day links:

today has been a pretty sad day. as much as i am a fan of death, i am really a fan of people dying that i don't like or admire. now, when it's someone old, i get it, it's time. but when someone passes before their 70's, it really hits me. so, when i heard today that Otto Petersen died at 53, i was gutted. and if you don't know who Otto is, shame on you for not being in the know of great comedians. do yourself a favor and look up Otto & George and laugh your ass off.

i've spent most of today listening to music and watching old videos.

the Yankees won last night 3-2, to take 3 of 4 from the Red Sox.

the Sunday night shows were excellent and i actually made it through all of them.

tonight will be the Ultimate Warrior tribute episode of Monday Night Raw and The Voice.

the weather has been on this slow decline today. it was damn near 80 yesterday and by tonight it will be in the 20's. hopefully the cats will be thankful that i closed up the 2 stalls they use.

i'll be on here tomorrow, hopefully in a better mood.

be well my enemies...

the winds of hell

hello again kids. here are 2 links for your national poetry month goodies:

i'm still trying to figure out why it is windy every time i put out trash? hopefully, i have enough weight in the cans so they won't tip over. sadly, i doubt any of the other fuckers out here care. i've already been picking up trash today that has blown up to the house. i'm 1/4 mile back from the road. fucking ridiculous.

the New York Rangers lost last night 1-0 in OT on a penalty shot. one of the worst officiated games i have seen in awhile. that being said, the penalty shot was a legit call. the playoffs start on Thursday for the Rangers at home against Philadelphia. here's hoping i won't be shaving for a few months.

i watched the first half hour or so of Saturday Night Live before i fell asleep. i'm blaming Ed Sheeran for putting me to sleep this time. at least from what i read, i got to see the good parts of the show. i need a damn DVR.

i have no clue how i'm going to stay up tonight, but here's the shows i'm going to try to watch: Nurse Jackie, Californication, Veep, Silicon Valley, Years of Living Dangerously, and Total Divas. if i manage to see all of them and stay awake while doing it, i'll be fucking shocked.

another great day of weather here that is about to go shitty. there's a chance of SNOW tomorrow night. when i saw that on the news last night, the only thing i could think to say was jesus fucking christ. i've got some flowers that have popped up. if it does snow, i'm hoping to get a picture of them in full bloom in the snow. pure craziness.

the New York Yankees play tonight on ESPN. i truly doubt i will be watching any of that given all the shows that are on tonight. probably a game i'll follow on the tablet.

i don't have a great feeling about my fantasy hockey team on the final day of the season. looks like i'll be finishing second once again. i'll know for sure tomorrow morning. but, i've been doing this long enough to know, some deficits are too large for fucking miracles.

that's all for me today kids. i need to go get some water, which should be a real fucking joy in this wind. i'll be on here sometime tomorrow. not real sure when. my mother is having surgery later in the week, so this coming week is going to be by the seat of my pants i feel.

later my enemies. be well.

it is starting to look like spring...

here are your 2 links for national poetry month:

http://learning.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/04/10/poetry-pairing-a-poem-of-changgan/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0

http://www.newsadvance.com/the_burg/features/cover_story/beat-burg-riverviews-artspace-marks-national-poetry-month-with-festival/article_c37abae4-bfff-11e3-a4b8-0017a43b2370.html

it actually feels like spring today. it's around 70 degrees with hardly any clouds at all. the only problem is the damn wind. at least 20 mph at all times, gusting to over 50 mph. fuck me. i'm waiting for more pieces of the barns to fly off. just great.

the New York Yankees lost last night, 5-4. Tanaka got off to a rough start but settled down to strike out 10. the Yankees wasted that start as it was 3-3 going into the 9th. and this is where it sucks when your closer in on the disabled list. his replacement gives up 2 runs and they could only get 1 in the bottom half of the inning. another series lost. not a good trend to start early in the season. next up is 4 with the fucking Red Sox starting tonight.

also tonight, the New York Rangers play their final home game against Buffalo. hopefully they close out the home schedule with a win.

also tonight is a new episode of The Big Bang Theory. looks like a busy night for the remote control.

i didn't go to the bank today as i spent most of the morning helping my mother. she's having some back problems and as someone with a horrific back, i know how painful that can be. she wants me to go with her to the bank on Saturday. i figured i would play the good son today. of course, it's going to be raining Saturday morning... i suppose i will have to keep my mouth shut with the 'i told you so' when it comes to the weather.

so, today was a few hours of iTunes and porn. interesting as always. as you'll be able to tell below, i was once again all over the fucking map.

i'm officially at the panic stage with my fantasy hockey finals. i'm adding players from teams i absolutely hate in hopes they can help change my fortunes. i just really need one good night or one night where my opponent shits the bed. i have a plan in my mind for the weekend games. of course, another bad night and that will be out the window as well.

i might do some writing tonight as i have some words floating around my brain. i'll keep you posted...

that's all for me today kids. enjoy the insanity below. be well and i'll be back on here sometime tomorrow. maybe after typing up some poems...

peace and chicken grease...

http://nhpr.org/post/dark-where-poem-wins-poetry-chris-locke

i sent out 10 poems today, 5 each to My Favorite Bullet and The Blind Vigil Revue. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the verdicts.

another painful day on the farm with all this fucking rain and wind, let alone another injury to my fantasy hockey team.

the New York Rangers lost in a shootout last night after they tried to sit on a 2-1 lead in the 3rd period last night. at least they are one point closer to the playoffs now. hopefully Washington loses in regulation tonight and the rest of the season can be about getting healthy.

the New York Yankees FINALLY won last night, 4-2. was happy to see the 26 year old rookie (Solarte) come through huge with his first start. hopefully Joe is smart enough to keep playing him. tonight they are in Toronto. the first MLB start for Masahiro Tanaka. given the media attention on this one, if this kid throws a gem i will be overfuckingjoyed. he's been the real deal so far.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty damn funny last night.

i'm going to try to remember to watch Vice tonight as Sunday is going to be a little crazy.

the winds here today have been crazy. the internet has been running slower than shit. that made iTunes a ton of fun this afternoon.

oh well, hope everyone is looking forward to a great weekend. i'll be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the morning. hopefully drinking a victory beer.

as usual, i listened to a shit load of music today given that i spent most of the afternoon typing. enjoy.

peace my enemies...

a cool rainy day in April

first off kids, here is your national poetry month goodies for the day:

i went through the stack of unpublished poems i have and came up with 25 i'm going to send out. i'm going to try to stagger these submissions throughout the month as i really can't sit at the computer for hours on end anymore. i think i know where i'm going to send the poems, just need to do my double check and make sure i'm not resending something that was previously rejected. ah, paperwork. good times.

the New York Rangers set the franchise record with their 25th road win of the season last night, 3-1. Marty St. Louis FINALLY scored his first but more importantly the Rangers best defenseman and the best one on my fantasy hockey team got blindisded late in the game and left the arena with his arm in a sling. he did travel with the team to Colorado and not back to New York, so i'm going to assume that's a good sign. i really hope is good to go for the rest of the season.

the New York Yankees shit the bed to start the season, losing 6-2. and it never really felt that close. the game was so bad that i rarely turned back to it while watching The Voice and the shows after it. they play again tonight. i'm not going to get pissy until the losing gets to the insane stage. losing twice to a team with a payroll less than the cost of your infield would be at the insane stage.

speaking of The Voice, it was excellent last night. i believe i know who can win the show and probably witnessed the best battle of the season last night:
just amazing. can't wait to see her in the live shows.

woke up in pain this morning as it was already raining and i was up after 3 hours of sleep. the arthritis medicine seems to be working, so maybe i caught it early. and my neck seems to be getting better each day now.

sometime during the Yankees game tonight i'll flip over to watch Legit and Ali G. hopefully the Yankees will be winning when i do so.

that's pretty much all for me today kids. i think i'm going to sneak in a nap before i have to help put the groceries away.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime. not sure when as i believe i'm going to start sending the poems out tomorrow. wish me luck or tell me to fuck off. they both get the desired effect.

peace my enemies. be well, be creative, be drunk, be destructively good at whatever you want, be warm, be naked, be cheap...

a creative outburst

i was a busy boy last night. i ended up writing 7 poems. i really like a few of them after i typed them up this afternoon. that will give me plenty of bullets to start sending out poems in a few days.

also, broke out the camera today and took some photos:

the rest of them can be seen on my Google+ page and i'll put them in the slide show here on the blog sometime soon.

the New York Rangers won 5-0 last night. a very convincing and satisfying win.

as for the Sunday night shows, Shameless was great. House of Lies was as well. both of them set up nicely for the season finales next week. Vice was awesome as usual. and after nearly forgetting, Total Divas had me laughing once again. and another strong ending to the episode. good stuff.

as for tonight, the usual Monday struggle between The Voice and Monday Night Raw. i've got a feeling YouTube will be used later tonight. also, since baseball is going again, i may squeeze in some of that, especially if i need a nap.

i advanced to the finals of my fantasy hockey tournament. hopefully my team will keep on clicking until the end of the season.

also, my good friend Janne Karlsson sent me some of the comic strips he's coming up with out of the work we did last year. some realy good shit is going to coming out here soon.

that's all for me today. i'll be on here tomorrow sometime after Manchester United plays and before the New York Yankees and New York Rangers take over my Tuesday night.

i listened to a ton of music today (i'm a slow typer) so enjoy my insanity below.

peace and chicken grease...

you ever get a song stuck in your head

when i got home around 12:30 last night, i was pretty damn tired. but i had this fucking song trapped in my head that they played before each basketball game last night. it became my mission to find it on iTunes before i went to bed. by 4 AM i had completed my mission. welcome to my crazy life.

the first game last night between Albany and Mount St. Mary's was a back and forth affair. both teams had hot and cold stretches that at least kept the game interesting. Albany gets its first ever win in the NCAA tournament, 71-64. that brought on the NC St. vs. Xavier game. the hatred for Xavier was really in the air. there were enough of the pricks from down in Cincy up there that my blood was boiling. now mind you, i'm in the first few rows of the second deck, so basically my yelling was simply entertaining the fans around me. but, they were totally fucking entertained. as i explained to my mother, since those assholes weren't on the schedule this year, i had it all inside of me to get out last night. and i was on full fucking blast for 40 minutes. it was great. NC St. advances to face Saint Louis, 74-59. i enjoyed every fucking second of that beating.

as i figured, since i wasn't watching, the New York Rangers would win last night. sure enough, they won 8-4 in Ottawa. Hank becomes the franchise leader in wins by a goalie. here are the highlights:

and during my search for that song stuck in my fucking head, i did get to see most of what happened on The Voice last night. hats off to Usher for still having nearly his whole team still involved, either through wins or steals.

tonight, i will get to see Cal Poly vs. Texas Southern and then Iowa vs. Tennessee. hopefully, both games will be good. i'm getting prepared for the sea of fucking orange tonight. sadly, those fans from Tennessee travel well.

the plan after dinner tonight at Waffle House, is to watch Legit, Ali G., and Duck Dynasty when i get home. hopefully i will have enough energy left to do so.

now, i'm off to watch a little of Manchester United before i hop in the shower. in there i'll have to get prepared to listen to another night of the mid 50's hipsters sitting behind me at the basketball games. nothing like a talk about South by Southwest that lasts for 3 DAMN hours. god help me.

hope everyone is well. i'll be on here tomorrow probably after Dayton plays Ohio State. i'll either be sky fucking high or really depressed. good times.

peace and chicken grease...

my war with technology

so today was the day i was going to get my shit in gear and get the cds my cousin wanted done. and i did that, for the most part. i was downloading one song from iTunes and the internet feed went dead. that was fun. the song is downloaded yet i somehow can't play it. the shitty thing is i paid for it. not fun. and after spending a few hours to get all the songs downloaded, i started putting a cd together. i've got the perfect mix but it won't burn. i try a few different cds and still nothing. i go out and get new cds and still nothing. and then i try to burn less songs from iTunes and sure enough it worked. so, what was supposed to be 2 cds full of music became 3. 6 FUCKING hours of my day on all of this. thank god i'm getting money for this.

during this debacle today, i did get to see the Dayton Flyers advance in the A10 tournament. they started off on fire against Fordham and were up by 19 at halftime. and then of course, they tried to just sleepwalk through the second half and allowed the lead to get down to 5. thankfully, they woke the fuck up in time and won by 13, 87-74. that is now 10 wins in their last 11 games. they play the only team to beat them in that stretch tomorrow, St. Joe's. Dayton will have to play just about perfect to win as they just don't match up well against St. Joe's. i'd like to think Dayton is in the NCAA regardless of what happens tomorrow, but i get the feeling tomorrow is an elimination game. hopefully Dayton wins.

i'm typing this having just watched the New York Rangers lose 2-1 in Minnesota. sadly, 2 damn mistakes and they end up in the net. this team needs to find some fucking goals quickly. they can't expect to have all the teams around them lose all the time so they can back into the playoffs. they play tomorrow in Winnipeg. that will be a wild one.

i did enjoy The Big Bang Theory tonight. always a good show.

last night, i laughed my ass off at Legit. i didn't get to see much of Ali G as my shower and toilet time took way longer than i expected. i always love when dinner just doesn't sit right.

tomorrow, i'm hoping to get some sleep and maybe relax for a little bit. and maybe not have to deal with any computer shit. of course, i haven't checked my email in a few hours, so i probably have a ton to get to.

the weather got pretty damn cold here but the sun came out and really burned off most of the snow. looks like we are going to be in the yo yo here for awhile. a couple of days in the 50's and then right back into the 30's. rinse and repeat. just crazy enough to keep everyone sick.

i did see where the New Orleans Saints traded Darren Sproles to the Eagles. for the fantasy football guy in me, that should be fun. for the Saints fan in me, that will come back to haunt us.

that's all for me. i'm off to go check some email and then drink myself to sleep.

hope this finds everyone well. if not, i'm pretty sure you have yourself to blame.

peace bitches...
