i almost had a feeling that the New York Rangers were going to find a way yesterday to stay alive in the playoff chase. i quickly saw how foolish that thought was after the first 40 minutes. they lost at Carolina yesterday, 7-3. that eliminates them from the chance to make the playoffs. they are the 4th team to win the President's trophy the previous year and miss the playoffs the next. the Rangers have actually done that twice now. the last time they did it, they won the Stanley Cup the next season. oh, if only history could fucking repeat itself.

it always seems to happen...
sometime around 9 or so last night, i found myself thinking about the stuff i didn't get at the grocery store. so, after i take mom to her accountant, i will probably be going to Meijer to get what i forgot to put on the list.

busier than 9 cats covering up shit in a windstorm...
so, today was crazy. the rain started sooner than the "experts" said it would. so, my drive to the dealership was a bit painful. but, i did make it on time. thankfully, all the check engine light was was a loose hose. and since it was related to why i had the Highlander in there last month, there was no charge. well hot damn. by this time, the rain was really coming down. i drove back home as i was hoping the trash would be picked up and the mail would be delivered. well, at least the mail was here. i then went and did the local grocery shopping. got my pills at Rite Aid and some baseball cards. there was about $10 worth of cards in the box. i took that shit home and by then, the trash had been picked up. so i got the trash can back into the garage. i'm also in charge of my neighbor's trash cans. they are in their 90's, so i don't mind taking the empties back up for them. then i went to Kroger and between all the shit my sister wants for the Easter dinner she's cooking here and me thinking about shit for mom to eat and actually get some decent protein and low sodium out of it, i was thrilled to keep it all under $200. mom's back has been killing her today. so, i had to put the groceries away. i have no problem doing that. i just want to make sure mom knows what is here so she actually eats it instead of forgetting i ever bought it in the first place. her memory is basically shot anymore. somedays i feel like i am taking care of someone that may say she is 68, but is probably closer to 86 at times.
i still have 2 poems to type up that i wrote at the car dealership. i'll get that done before i go to bed sometime tonight.
the New York Yankees won last night over Toronto, 4-0. hopefully, they do that again tonight.

got a little lucky today...
so, i went out looking for some cards today. i decided to go to the Rite-Aid south of where i live. i have had some success there before. i found a Fairfield box of football and baseball cards. both of them had autographed cards in them. that was a welcome surprise today...
the poet of the day for this day of National Poetry Month is Judge Santiago Burdon. i have really enjoyed his work over the last few years. plus, he lives where i want to live one day, Costa Rica.

VICE was really good last night.
Homeland was excellent last night.
Black Monday was good last night. the show will come back probably when this pandemic is over.
Atlanta's Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children had no audio for the first 45 minutes of the show. so, there was way more reading than i thought i was going to have to do with the closed caption. eventually, the audio came back for the last 15 minutes or so.
Westworld was fucking great last night.
Insecure was awesome last night.
Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as usual.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Songland, The Plot Against America and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

yesterday went pretty well. my sister was here way longer than i thought she was going to be. she made these carrot cake cupcakes that were amazing. she got back home before the storms hit where she lives last night.
i can tell mom is getting a little stir crazy these days. i'm hoping the weather gets a bit better and i can take her on a drive just to get out of the house.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
stay healthy kids...
until tomorrow...

you would think i would be dead by now...
the New York Yankees pissed away yet another lead last night and lost to the White Sox, 9-6 in 7 innings. thank god the rain got so bad they called the game. that's 4 losses in a row. joy.
i am absolutely shocked that Columbus won both games down in Tampa in the NHL playoffs. holy shit. halfway to one of the biggest upsets i can think of in NHL history.
i did watch some of the other games as well.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
NJPW was excellent last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was really good last night.
Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was brilliant once again last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.
my sports docket today is pretty full. between Manchester United, the New York Yankees, the NBA and NHL playoffs, the Masters and the national championship game of college hockey, it's going to be a pretty fucking full day.
i did listen to episode 233 of Notsam Wrestling late last night. you can find that by going here:

sunshine and warmth, where the hell have you been?
here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:
the New York Yankees lost to Boston last night 6-3. they really didn't do much until the 9th inning. oh well. they start a series in Detroit tonight. i have no clue how any of these games are going to be played this weekend with the weather.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
The Big Bang Theory was pretty funny last night.
Young Sheldon was really good last night.
Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.
Gotham was fucking crazy last night.
Atlanta was really fucking good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW, Real Time with Bill Maher and Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas.
the trip to the grocery store went pretty well today. we got plenty of fruit and fish, that's for sure. the bill would have been under $100 if the damn coffeemaker wouldn't have died this morning. the store had a good basic one on sale. i suppose i'll find out how good it is tomorrow morning.
my sister is down here for the evening. her and mom are going to a birthday party of one of my sister's friends mother. i figure my sister will be asleep by 11 and 10 hours later be up and on the road. so the 15 minutes i've talked to her since she's been here is just about all i'll get.
i will be on here tomorrow sometime between loads of laundry. i'm at that stage of underwear where i know i need to do my damn laundry. i suppose there's the next poem.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. call if you need bail money.

these old bones can't stand the rain
welcome to the 13th day of National Poetry Month. today, i'm shining a little light on Jay Passer. i've been reading Jay for a few years now. he's a really good poet that you should be reading as well. here are some links to find some of his work:

also in poetry news, i sent off 5 poems to Bold Monkey today. when i hear back from George on my submission, i'll pass along the verdict.
the New York Yankees exploded last night for a 14-4 win over Boston. that certainly wasn't expected. it was nice to see them actually start stringing some hits together for a change. they play again tonight in Baltimore. hopefully they have some offense left.
the Sunday night shows were pretty good last night. Nurse Jackie was good. i think they set up the final season pretty good last night. Silicon Valley was fucking hilarious. Veep was very funny. Last Week Tonight was brilliant as always. enjoy:
tonight on the DVR will be The Voice and Gotham, which is finally back with some new episodes. i'll also record Men in Blazers as i'm watching Monday Night Raw.
i did watch ROH yesterday. yet another brilliant episode.
i can feel the cold front getting closer. yet another sign i'm dying slowly.
i need to vacuum the house here soon. i guess i should do that before the storm comes.
hope everyone had a great weekend. or at the very least, better than mine.

i'm still trying to figure out why it is windy every time i put out trash? hopefully, i have enough weight in the cans so they won't tip over. sadly, i doubt any of the other fuckers out here care. i've already been picking up trash today that has blown up to the house. i'm 1/4 mile back from the road. fucking ridiculous.
the New York Rangers lost last night 1-0 in OT on a penalty shot. one of the worst officiated games i have seen in awhile. that being said, the penalty shot was a legit call. the playoffs start on Thursday for the Rangers at home against Philadelphia. here's hoping i won't be shaving for a few months.
i watched the first half hour or so of Saturday Night Live before i fell asleep. i'm blaming Ed Sheeran for putting me to sleep this time. at least from what i read, i got to see the good parts of the show. i need a damn DVR.
i have no clue how i'm going to stay up tonight, but here's the shows i'm going to try to watch: Nurse Jackie, Californication, Veep, Silicon Valley, Years of Living Dangerously, and Total Divas. if i manage to see all of them and stay awake while doing it, i'll be fucking shocked.
another great day of weather here that is about to go shitty. there's a chance of SNOW tomorrow night. when i saw that on the news last night, the only thing i could think to say was jesus fucking christ. i've got some flowers that have popped up. if it does snow, i'm hoping to get a picture of them in full bloom in the snow. pure craziness.
the New York Yankees play tonight on ESPN. i truly doubt i will be watching any of that given all the shows that are on tonight. probably a game i'll follow on the tablet.
i don't have a great feeling about my fantasy hockey team on the final day of the season. looks like i'll be finishing second once again. i'll know for sure tomorrow morning. but, i've been doing this long enough to know, some deficits are too large for fucking miracles.
that's all for me today kids. i need to go get some water, which should be a real fucking joy in this wind. i'll be on here sometime tomorrow. not real sure when. my mother is having surgery later in the week, so this coming week is going to be by the seat of my pants i feel.
later my enemies. be well.

accept the pain and everything will be fine
but first, allow me to peel back the onion on my day. i know there is an artist in Sweden that loves these stories. so, i got some money together this morning to make a deposit at the bank. i force myself to do these things in person as that is really the only human interaction my recluse ass gets anymore. so, as i'm getting ready to take a shower, i have a SUDDEN urge to shit. i laugh, because normally that urge comes when i'm shampooing my hair. so, after 20 minutes i finally get in the shower. i'm pissed off as my back is killing me. so, what better time than right now to burst the blood blister on my inner right thigh. damn good thing i don't mind the sight of blood. plus, well water and soap on a bloody wound, what better way to proclaim to the world you simply just hate yourself.
on to other things...
i did manage to write 3 poems last night and i typed them up this morning. i like all 3 of them but i really have no clue where i'm going to be sending them. i'd like to write another 10 or so over the holiday weekend and then start cracking the whip on finding the right places for the poems.
i watched a ton of college football last night. a couple of instant classics on the first night. this should be a crazy season.
Big Brother went about how i figured it would last night. one racist leaves and the other is the new HOH. and her target is the last power couple remaining. if they both leave with the double eviction coming up, the show will be too fucking boring to give a shit anymore.
Wilfred was hilarious as always.
after thinking about it, i don't mind Manchester United's draw for the Champions League. it won't be easy, but it's not the group of death either.
the new kittens found their voices today. that surely will get annoying rather quickly.
not exactly sure what i'll be watching this evening. the Yankees are back at home in MUST win games. there is always wrestling once the Yankees start pissing me off. i'm sure there's some college football and soccer on this evening as well.
i figure i may just try to beat the heat again and do some writing. who knows.
that's all for today. hope everyone has a great weekend and for all my readers in the USA, enjoy the holiday weekend.

Pixies - Bossanova
Florence & The Machine - Lungs
Kiss - Destroyer
