the joy of when your body says no...

so, when i woke up this morning, i was feeling like i hadn't slept at all. that's always fun. my bad back has been killing me for weeks now. no matter how much i stretch or ice or just rest, it doesn't get much better. i am losing weight, but i think that is by attrition. after breakfast today, i could feel my body just shutting down. so, i got back into bed and tried my best to sleep. the siren in my left ear is still going non-stop, so sleeping isn't fucking easy at all anymore. i did stay in bed until the second half of the USMNT game today. after watching that, i probably should have just stayed in bed. more on that in a bit.

the New Orleans Saints won yesterday over the Rams, 27-20.

the New York Knicks lost yesterday at Phoenix, 116-95. they play tonight at the Thunder.

here are your NBA highlights from yesterday:

i did catch most of the games today and yesterday in the World Cup. i am pretty disappointed the USMNT tied Wales today, 1-1. while it is better than a loss, they could have won today. that will make getting out of the group even harder, especially since England destroyed Iran today, 6-2. Ecuador beat Qatar 2-0 yesterday and Netherlands defeated Senegal today, 2-0.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw, The Voice, Avenue 5 and The Vow.

The White Lotus was excellent last night.

Let The Right One In was very good last night.

Ziwe was fucking hilarious last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual. the show will be back in February 2023.

i am listening to episode 422 of Notsam Wrestling right now. you can hear it by going here:

i might watch some of the NFL game tonight between the Cardinals and 49ers.

i know i need to be up early tomorrow morning for a conference call with the social worker where mom is. mom seems to be doing pretty good. i'm just hoping they get her blood pressure under control.

i should be on here tomorrow after the World Cup games are over. the games tomorrow are Argentina vs. Saudi Arabia, Denmark vs. Tunisia, Mexico vs. Poland and France vs. Australia.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

nothing quite like grocery shopping when it is 104 degrees outside...

it was really fucking hot today, just like yesterday. and it is supposed to continue into tomorrow. great.

the New York Yankees won last night, over Tampa, 2-0. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

the USMNT played a 1-1 draw at El Salvador last night. the match had a little bit of everything. torrential rain, plenty of mud, both sides getting red cards and the USA drawing level near the death of the game. i enjoyed that the boys showed plenty of fight last night. that will serve them well.

the season finale of Mayans last night was amazing.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

Holey Moley was crazy as usual last night.

NXT was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and AEW Dynamite.

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i will probably watch a little of it.

so, the local grocery store didn't have much to offer today. with the power outages we've had, it looks like they have had to throw a ton of shit out. thankfully, i was able to get most of everything today at Kroger. i will probably need to go to Meijer on Friday to get what i couldn't find today. hopefully it will be cooler by then.

tomorrow is mom's birthday. i guess she is going to try to go to physical therapy tomorrow. i'm preparing myself for the worst as she does not do well in the heat at all.

a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:

i am going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow, before mom goes to physical therapy.

3 hours and i couldn't come up with one damn poem...

i was at the dealership for more than 3 hours today. i guess they had to replace one of the brakes, plus the wipers, do an oil change, rotate the tires, etc. of course, the parts they needed for the brakes they didn't have, so i had to wait. joy. i took my little notebook with me, hoping to get a little writing done while i was there. i had a few lines come to me, but i could never get a whole poem out of them. not exactly the way i wanted to end the month. fuck...

congrats to the Tampa Bay Lightning on winning the Stanley Cup. i'm so happy for Ryan McDonagh and Kevin Shattenkirk, two ex-Rangers who deserve this.

The Third Day was fucking crazy and great last night.

We Are Who We Are was really good last night.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

i did watch a little of the NFL game last night between the Ravens and Chiefs.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight.

i'll be watching the Yankees vs. Indians game for most of the evening. both teams have their best pitchers going, so it will either be a low scoring game or an offensive shootout because the baseball gods make no fucking sense in 2020. i'd love for the Yankees to win tonight, seeing that it's a best 2 of 3 for this round. i don't think they can win two games in a row that they need to win at this point of the season. now, if the Yankees bats suddenly come to life, it's a whole different story.

i need to pick up the trash here and next door and figure out dinner, so that's all for me kids.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

where did this month go

i can tell when i don't get enough sleep as the days just seem to constantly roll together. if i get 5 hours at night anymore it's like i won the lottery. i'm sure i'll be dead before i hit 50.

the New York Yankees left a small village on base yesterday and couldn't come up with any 9th inning magic this time. they lost to Tampa 5-3. they start a series with Detroit tonight. thankfully, Boston lost yesterday so the Yankees are still in first place in the division. i'm hoping the Yankees make a trade today for another starter. i do like the trade they made yesterday for Jaime Garcia. now, go get Sonny Gray please.

i did watch a little of the Hall of Fame ceremonies yesterday. i'm so happy for Tim Raines. he was one of my favorite players as a kid. he should have been in the hall years ago.

Manchester United won 3-0 yesterday in Norway. i only got see a little of the game. i think someone in Saudi Arabia was streaming it on Twitter yesterday. i am very happy with the player they signed today.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. if you aren't watching the feeds online, you are missing so much.

Power was excellent once again last night.

Ballers was really good last night.

Insecure was great last night.

The Strain was really damn good last night.

Twin Peaks was another delicious mind fuck last night.

I'm Dying up Here was excellent last night. made me miss my days of doing drugs.

Last Week Tonight was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i need to get ready to take mom to her physical therapy appointment. she's really making some progress now, so i think we're coming up on her last few appointments. just in time for her to get the cataracts in both eyes taken care of.

fast forward to summer

it hit 80 degrees here today. all we were missing was the humidity and today could have easily been mid August. not that i'm complaining. the house is open, the ceiling fan is on and i'm enjoying a victory beer. life can't be bad all the time, at least that's what they tell me.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

the New York Yankees finally got a hit with a runner in scoring position today. felt like it was the first time all season. they got some great pitching, a few big hits and avoided the sweep by defeating Seattle today 4-3. they are off tomorrow and start up a series against Oakland on Tuesday.

i really enjoyed ROH last night. hell, i enjoyed it so much i watched it again this afternoon.

i thought Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night. a few of the taped skits had me howling with laughter.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Vinyl, the season finale of Girls, House of Lies and Last Week Tonight.

if you are a fan of laughing and sexual innuendo, i highly recommend you check out the latest podcast from Sam Roberts' Show.
give it a listen by going here: http://notsam.com/srshow/2016/4/15/srshow-mary-jean-and-kenyon-phillips

i think i might have strained my Achilles today. not sure how the fuck i did it, but i was walking the kitchen and felt a good jolt of pain that nearly stopped me in my tracks. good times.

i believe my lazy ass needs to get some work done in the next week for National Poetry Month. i suppose i should actually do an audio recording and another YouTube video. so, if you happen to see either or both of those pop up in the next week, yours truly found some fucking inspiration.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday is even better.

slogging through the pain

i've been achy all day long. but, there's shit to do, so, as usual, just ignore the fucking pain and move on. i'm sure one day this will catch up with me. but, luckily for me, i'm not interested in living forever.

i sent out 15 poems today. 5 to Horror Sleaze Trash, 4 to Hobo Camp Review and 3 each to Yellow Mama and Dead Snakes. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdict.

first up for Flashback Friday is my poem "beautiful devastation" from back in 2012. well, it was published then, but i'm pretty sure i wrote it back in 2010. you can find that poem by going here: http://www.zygoteinmycoffee.com/100s/issue137beautifuldevastat.html

next up is my poem "longwinded". this is from back in 2005. this poem has Janne Karlsson animation written all over it. you can find the poem by going here:
http://www.myfavoritebullet.com/Campbell_longwinded.html

and while we're on poetry, here's one from one of my favorites:

Big Brother went as i expected last night. John got evicted and then walked right back into the house. sadly though, Vanessa is the new HOH. but, there's another double eviction coming up so this could be their chance to finally get her out.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll was excellent last night. so was Married.

tonight on the DVR will be NJPW and Treehouse Masters. i will be watching the New York Yankees play down in Atlanta, at least until they start playing like shit and i find something else to watch.

and now some music:

and now some other random shit:

that's all for me today. i really hope everyone enjoys their weekends. call if you need bail money or help burying the bodies.

following a day of misery

i spent most of yesterday laying in bed. my body was aching all over it seemed and i was just overall, in pure fucking misery. not even a futile attempt at masturbation could lift my spirits. thankfully, the pain started to lighten up later in the day and evening. and it figures, yesterday the sun was out for probably 90% of the day.

the New York Yankees had their asses handed to them yesterday, 12-4. that didn't help my mood much either. they had a few kids make their major league debuts yesterday. let's just say that was like pouring gasoline on a burning fire. they play the Phillies tonight. hopefully they can get back to winning, as they are only 1 game out of first place in the division.

i did watch a ton of soccer yesterday. between the Women's World Cup and the Copa America, there was plenty to choose from.

dinner last night was a little better than horrific. i made some hot dogs in crescent rolls. a true sophisticated white trash meal. the problem was the rolls were garlic butter rolls. with just cheese and pepperoni, not too bad. with the hot dogs, like puke on a stick. i'll have to file that one in the back of my mind.

enjoy some music before we get to the television of last night:

let's start off with the Showtime shows. Nurse Jackie was excellent. next week is the series finale and it looks like it should be a memorable one. Happyish was great once again. i always appreciate when a show tries to find the humor on suicide. Penny Dreadful was spectacular last night. the ending was one of the biggest oh fuck me endings of all-time. credits right as a fight is getting ready to start. needless to say, i will be super fucking ready for the next episode.

True Detective last night started off with a Leonard Cohen song as the main title credits rolled. that made me smile. there were definitely a few layers revealed in the first episode. i don't know if it will be as good as the first season, but it's surely something i will be able to sink my teeth into. Ballers was what it was. being a sports fan, i will enjoy it. sports stars and tits, what's there not to like. i'm sure most critics will hate it. The Brink made me fucking laugh. i guess it helps that i'm a fan of Tim Robbins and Jack Black. both of them were great. Last Week Tonight was excellent as always:

tonight is going to be a crowded one for me on television. team USA takes on Colombia in the Women's World Cup. at the same time, the Yankees will be playing. and not long after that, Monday Night Raw will be coming on. there will be some serious channel flipping going on as i refuse to put sports on the DVR. hopefully i will be ending the night with a few victory beers.

i got some FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll pass along the link below in the music section.

hopefully everyone had a great weekend.

these old bones can't stand the rain

here comes another cold front and nearly every bone in my body wants to fucking scream. good times.

welcome to the 13th day of National Poetry Month. today, i'm shining a little light on Jay Passer. i've been reading Jay for a few years now. he's a really good poet that you should be reading as well. here are some links to find some of his work:

also in poetry news, i sent off 5 poems to Bold Monkey today. when i hear back from George on my submission, i'll pass along the verdict.

the New York Yankees exploded last night for a 14-4 win over Boston. that certainly wasn't expected. it was nice to see them actually start stringing some hits together for a change. they play again tonight in Baltimore. hopefully they have some offense left.

the Sunday night shows were pretty good last night. Nurse Jackie was good. i think they set up the final season pretty good last night. Silicon Valley was fucking hilarious. Veep was very funny. Last Week Tonight was brilliant as always. enjoy:

tonight on the DVR will be The Voice and Gotham, which is finally back with some new episodes. i'll also record Men in Blazers as i'm watching Monday Night Raw.

i did watch ROH yesterday. yet another brilliant episode.

i can feel the cold front getting closer. yet another sign i'm dying slowly.

i need to vacuum the house here soon. i guess i should do that before the storm comes.

hope everyone had a great weekend. or at the very least, better than mine.

sunshine and trash

welcome to the 12th day of National Poetry Month. in yet another sign of my professional laziness, enjoy 3 random YouTube videos. and this time, i do mean random, as i know none of these people.

i didn't watch much of the Yankees game yesterday. apparently, i didn't miss much. 8-4 loss to Boston, yet again. they will try to not get swept tonight, and thankfully, i won't watch much of that either.

the New York Rangers won yesterday 4-2 in Washington. they set the franchise record for wins in a season, wins on the road in a season, total points for a season, etc. etc. they are primed and ready for the playoffs. they play the Penguins in the first round. considering my good friend Paul's favorite team is the Penguins, i'm really hoping to have some fun with this. below are the highlights from yesterday:

i ended up losing my fantasy hockey championship 6-4-0. all i needed was 2 damn assists and 7 fucking penalty minutes and i would have won. instead, i get to settle for my 4th consecutive second place finish. fuck me.

i haven't got to watch the episode of ROH from last night yet. i figure i'll do that sometime tonight. i did catch Saturday Night Live. i thought Mumford and Sons sounded pretty good. as for the show, a few of the skits were funny, but most of the show sucked.

i didn't sleep well last night. i figured that was all due to the Manchester derby.

United started the game off like shit. they got down early. thankfully, this isn't last year's squad. they found some form, made some passes, and holy shit, scored 2 goals to take the lead by half. they then went to score 2 more in the second half before Shitty scored again late. Manchester United 4 - Manchester Shitty 2. what a beautiful day. here are some highlights:

after the game, i went over to the farm and met my mother and sister. i took a ton of trash down to the end of the lane. hopefully it won't get windy tonight. brought another load of stuff over to the new house. the one side of the garage is just about full. my sister and i got a few more things hung up around the house.

tonight will be my usual Sunday night viewing. Nurse Jackie, Veep and Silicon Valley all return tonight. so does some other show that i've never watched. i'm recording all 3 just in case i start watching some other shit tonight. i know that MSG is doing a special show about the New York Rangers tonight. that will be on the DVR as well. i'll also try to squeeze in Last Week Tonight sometime as well. busy busy.

i got my order from Amazon.com yesterday. i was a little surprised the mailman left it leaning up against the garage. i might have to have a talk with him if that's what going to happen all the time.

that's all for me today. i have a victory beer and some music to go enjoy. hope you are having a lovely weekend.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
