my mother isn't exactly aging gracefully. i can tell the fear she has on most days as her motor skills decline, becomes more forgetful, etc. i try to tell her to think of the positives, but that does nothing. she often talks about being afraid to die. i stress to her constantly that death is only the natural conclusion to life. it will happen to each and every one of us, whether we like it or not. i want her to enjoy what she has left, not be afraid of what is coming. as someone who has wanted to die since he was 8 years old, i believe i have some experience in saying fuck it, and just move on. but, i can't say i am fully prepared for my mother's death. part of me doesn't want to be overly prepared for it. i want to live in the urgency of now. also, i don't believe she will be dying anytime soon. the problem she is having is none of the drugs they are trying on her are working. so, now i think she has no choice but to go on insulin. and i'm not really looking forward to that. cause i know damn well i will be the one giving her shots before too long. joy.
the Yankees lost last night at home to Cleveland, 9-5 in 12 innings.
NXT was excellent last night.
Deadliest Catch was good last night.
Hard Knocks was really good last night.

the Yankees lost again last night at the Mets, 12-2. they start a series tonight at Toronto.
i did watch most of the first round of the NBA Draft last night. i was so happy to see DaRon Holmes II got drafted at number 22. and i love that he is going to play for the Denver Nuggets.
i did watch some of the Copa America games last night. tonight, the USA plays Panama and Uruguay plays Panama.
AEW Dynamite was good last night.
NJPW was good last night as well.
enjoy some music:

nothing on the DVR tonight.
i did hear from my doctor's office this morning. apparently, they noticed on the rejection from my insurance company, they didn't fill out a part of the original prescription. so, they have done that now, i guess, and have resubmitted it. i just checked at Kroger and the Rybelsus should be ready by tomorrow afternoon. i told my mother if i die before her and it isn't suicide, put in the obituary he died most likely from a clerical error.
the second round of the NBA Draft is this afternoon. to be honest, all anyone is waiting for is when does LeBron James son get drafted.
the Copa America games start tonight at 6. i'll be watching those instead of the presidential debate.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
i believe the book i did with Casey Renee Kiser, will be going to print soon.
maybe it is the holidays that bring out the worst in us, or maybe i am so fucking cynical or depressed or disillusioned with life that i simply don't have the patience for bullshit anymore. the grocery store today was a fucking circus. but, i did make it out alive and managed not to spend $300 on everything. holy fuck, you'd think i hadn't bought any food in the last couple of weeks. and now, toss in my mother trying to put the shelves back in the pantry as she is finally putting contact paper on the shelves after being here almost a decade. she didn't like my comment of why the fuck did we need to do this after living here this long, you'd think you'd want to complete this years ago. and of course, her response was do you want me to leave? and she knows that i know how fucking passive/aggressive she gets when she gets angry so i simply responded; you're going to twist this however your passive/aggressive ass has to to make it your way, so do what you want. this is going to be a fun night.
the finale of The Voice was excellent last night. i picked the winner correctly this season.
NXT was good last night.
Inside the NFL was pretty funny last night.
the New York Rangers won last night in Toronto, 5-2.

Big Brother: Reindeer Games last night was good. the finale will be Thursday.

the New Orleans Saints won yesterday at home against Carolina, 28-6.
i did watch a few NFL games yesterday.
i also made a trip to Meijer yesterday. i got pretty much what we needed and a few other things and kept it under $60.

so, the doctor's appointment i had today went well. my weight was down, my A1C was down, my blood pressure was great... i got a flu shot finally and was in and out in about 15 minutes. i don't think it could have gone any better than that.
after the appointment, i went to Rite Aid. i wanted to get some small lights for the Charlie Brown Christmas tree. while i was there, i found a box of sugar free candies that was 70% off. the lights were 60% off, so i was very pleased to get both for under $10.
Vice News Tonight had two great shows this week.
NJPW was good last night.
the New York Rangers won last night at home over Toronto, 3-1.
i was thrilled the Yankees signed Carlos Rodon last night. now, get a left fielder please.

the cops are across the street doing something, so it finally feels like the holidays around here.
i did get all my laundry done yesterday. nothing quite like almost throwing your back out while putting a fitted sheet on your bed. good times.
i did watch a good portion of that Colts vs. Patriots game last night.
the Dayton Flyers had way too many turnovers last night at Ole Miss. doesn't help that the majority of the Ole Miss team is between the age of 20 to 26. the kids on the Flyers looked timid for way too much of the game. Dayton lost last night to Ole Miss, 76-68.
the USMNT did not play well last night. Bosnia & Herzegovina were down to 10 men for the last 55 minutes of the friendly. if the USA would have won comfortably last night, i would feel much better. instead, they won 1-0. it does close out the most successful calendar year they have ever had.
i did watch plenty of college basketball yesterday, as well as some of La Liga and the Bundesliga on ESPN+.
Saturday Night Live was pretty weird last night. they had to really shuffle the show because of the latest COVID variant running wild in New York City.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be VICE, Dexter: New Blood, Yellowjackets, Insecure, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Power Book II: Ghost and Hightown.
the New Orleans Saints play tonight at Tampa Bay. i really hope the Saints win as i don't want to watch Tom Brady celebrate winning the division.
since the Saints play tonight, i'm going to wrap the Christmas gifts i got for my mother and sister this afternoon. i figure i'll get all that done and then vacuum the house and ice my back down for the rest of the day.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after mom has her physical therapy.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
i think it was during the Keanu Reeves interview last night, i realized just how fucking old i am now. it becomes this existential crisis of sorts, where i can't escape my head, or thoughts, or the onslaught of nostalgia. i want to believe poems will come flying out of me during this shit. so far, that is not the case. it feels like i am trying to squeeze water out of a rock. and my theory has always been, when the words dry up, i have no use to this planet any longer. part of me thinks this is the holidays doing this. nothing says Christmas with the thought of death in the air.
mom had me go out last night and get some Lee's. she wanted the mashed potatoes for the most part. i had to crunch some numbers with her sodium restrictions, but i found a combo that worked for her. at least she feels better so far this morning.
The Voice was amazing last night. i think the winner is going to be between Girl Named Tom and Wendy Moten. and considering i had both of them in my final 3, i'm fine with either winning.
Monday Night Raw was good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NXT, I Cane See Your Voice and The Voice season finale.
the New York Rangers play tonight in Colorado. hopefully, the game goes better for them than when they faced each other at MSG the other night.
i think my doctor's appointment today is to go over my blood work results from last week. i think all the numbers were good except for one liver number that is always high. so, it should be a quick appointment, hopefully.
i suppose i should start getting Christmas decorations up soon. of course, i'm not sure if mom wants the Thanksgiving ones put away just yet. oh how i love living in a house of procrastination.
i'm going to try to get the blog done before i do the grocery shopping tomorrow.
i need to go shave and shower, so that's all for me kids.

i started off a little earlier than usual today with the grocery shopping. i found just about everything... and i only had to go to three stores.
the final two episodes of Industry were really, really good last night. i'm totally invested into seeing what happens in season 2.
Monday Night Raw was average at best last night.
the NBA starts back up tonight. i'm sure i'll watch some of the two games tonight.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Under the Grapefruit Tree: The CC Sabathia Story. along with the NBA, i'll probably watch some of the USA World Juniors pre-tournament game against Finland.
i did watch a decent amount of the Bengals beating the Steelers last night. that was a good laugh.
i might be on here later with a little poetry news. got an invite to send some poems in to this place and i think i have 5 that are good enough. at least i'm hoping so.
i should have some baseball cards coming tomorrow. more on that tomorrow night.
i will be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the League Cup quarter-finals.
i got mom some new candles today at the grocery store. i also got her another candle warmer so she can have one going in her room as well as the one she has going in the kitchen. she wasn't expecting the new warmer.
i have trash to pick up here and next door, so that's all for me kids.

we got maybe an inch of snow last night. the person that delivers the newspaper was kind enough to throw it up near the garage door. i didn't have to put on my boots to go get it this morning. and that also means i should be inside for the rest of the day.
Ohio State got out to a 21-0 lead yesterday against Penn State. and then, it looked like they either took the foot off the neck or simply forgot how to play defense against a running quarterback and hold on to the fucking ball. Penn State scored 17 straight points to make the game very interesting. but, like all good teams do, bend but never break. Ohio State won 28-17. now all focus turns to that shit school up north.
the New York Rangers got down 4-0 last night. after wrestling was over, i went to go check out the score to see how much they lost by. holy fuck, they came back to beat Montreal 6-5. that's the first the Rangers have won a game in the regular season coming back from being 4 goals down since 1991.
Bluegrass Underground was excellent last night.
ROH was good last night.
Lil Rel Howery: Live in Crenshaw was fucking hilarious last night.
i'm saving Us for when my sister gets down here over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.
NXT Takeover: War Games was fucking crazy last night. a great heel turn, a come back that all of us have longed for (welcome home Kevin Owens) and one of the craziest off the top of a cage spots i have ever seen. hopefully Survivor Series will be as good tonight.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Watchmen, Silicon Valley, Mrs. Fletcher, Shameless, Ray Donovan and Dublin Murders. i will be watching WWE Survivor Series for most of the evening.
Manchester United plays at Sheffield United today. i'm hoping the boys can get a road win they desperately need.
the New Orleans Saints play today at home against Carolina. hopefully the Saints can get to 9-2 with a win today.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i have to get those tests done in the morning and i have to take mom to physical therapy in the afternoon.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday is even better.

tonight begins the only playoffs that truly matter to me... the quest for the greatest trophy in all of sports...
if you aren't a fan of hockey, i beg you to watch just one playoff game. dare to watch one game in person. and then you will realize why you will be watching for the rest of your life. i don't have high hopes that the New York Rangers will win their first Stanley Cup since their glorious run in 1994. but, i will be living and dying with them until they are eliminated. god willing, that won't be until the playoffs are over in June. go get 'em boys, the mission starts tonight in Montreal.
the New York Yankees came from behind today to win 8-4. i'm really liking this team so far. plenty of young kids to root for. they will go for the sweep over Tampa tomorrow night.
Smackdown was great last night. i absolutely love that Kevin Owens is on the show now. just the possibility of matches between him and AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura should have every wrestling fan drooling.
205 Live last night was really good. i do enjoy a heel TJ Perkins.
The Voice was a recap of what has happened so far on the season. the live shows should be great, starting on Monday.
Deadliest Catch was awesome last night. i guess if there is one way for the climate change deniers to actually realize it's happening, it would be by watching this show.
