been a long day...

so, the trip to mom's eye doctor is about 40 minutes one way. the freeways in Ohio are such if you aren't going whatever speeds the trucks are going, they will run you over. so, a good portion of the trip was done at 80 MPH. the trip home wasn't as fast as the state troopers wanted to fill their quota before next week. mom got her last stitch out of her eye. she now is down to 2 drops a day of one drop. that for the next month and then it will be 1 drop a day for the rest of her life. but, she needs to do some invisible tears to make sure her eye doesn't dry out and then she needs to do an ointment in her eye at night. this will be interesting as she tried that before and absolutely hated it. her doctor said she doesn't have a choice now. so yeah, going to be interesting.

i got home in time for the second half of the Manchester United game at Tottenham today. i turned it off when Tottenham went up 2-0. Tottenham ended up winning the game 4-3. so, United won't be winning the Leagues Cup this year. oh well.

the season finale of The Masked Singer was crazy last night, as usual.

Inside the NFL was good last night.

AEW Dynamite was good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Nate Bargatze's Nashville Christmas and NJPW.

i will probably watch some of the NFL game tonight.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i guess it is supposed to start snowing tonight. oh joy.

mom's last gift came today, so that is one more thing i don't have to worry about.

until tomorrow kids...

starting to feel like Christmas...

the cops are across the street doing something, so it finally feels like the holidays around here.

i did get all my laundry done yesterday. nothing quite like almost throwing your back out while putting a fitted sheet on your bed. good times.

i did watch a good portion of that Colts vs. Patriots game last night.

the Dayton Flyers had way too many turnovers last night at Ole Miss. doesn't help that the majority of the Ole Miss team is between the age of 20 to 26. the kids on the Flyers looked timid for way too much of the game. Dayton lost last night to Ole Miss, 76-68.

the USMNT did not play well last night. Bosnia & Herzegovina were down to 10 men for the last 55 minutes of the friendly. if the USA would have won comfortably last night, i would feel much better. instead, they won 1-0. it does close out the most successful calendar year they have ever had.

i did watch plenty of college basketball yesterday, as well as some of La Liga and the Bundesliga on ESPN+.

Saturday Night Live was pretty weird last night. they had to really shuffle the show because of the latest COVID variant running wild in New York City.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, Dexter: New Blood, Yellowjackets, Insecure, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Power Book II: Ghost and Hightown.

the New Orleans Saints play tonight at Tampa Bay. i really hope the Saints win as i don't want to watch Tom Brady celebrate winning the division.

since the Saints play tonight, i'm going to wrap the Christmas gifts i got for my mother and sister this afternoon. i figure i'll get all that done and then vacuum the house and ice my back down for the rest of the day.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after mom has her physical therapy.

welcome to the weekend...

so, i did a little work on my football cards last night. i separated all the rookies from the other good cards. just NBA and NHL to go now...

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

we did get all the Christmas decorations up last night. it's not nearly what we used to, but it's more than just nothing at least.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.

Ohio State plays Northwestern today at noon for the Big Ten Championship. Ohio State will be missing some key players today, but hopefully, they get the victory.

the Dayton Flyers play today at home against Ole Miss. this will probably the last chance Dayton has to add a quality win over someone out of conference.

i'm sure i'll watch plenty of other college football games today as well.

there are also two NFL games on tonight that i'll probably watch some of. Buffalo plays at Denver and Carolina is at Green Bay.

i'm planning on being on here tomorrow in the morning before Manchester United plays.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

where does the time go...

it just dawned on me last night that Christmas is now less than a week away. i guess i need to start wrapping gifts.

i wrote 6 poems yesterday while mom was doing her physical therapy. that gives me 41 for the month so far. not too bad.

the season finale of The Masked Singer was good last night. i got all 3 of my guesses correct.

AEW was really good last night.

NXT was fucking great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i will be on here tomorrow after my doctor's appointment for my neck. i'm interested in seeing how that appointment goes, especially since i have already done the physical therapy for my neck and no longer have any pain in it.

i think the doctor's appointment today is about checking my A1C and just a general follow up at the end of the year type shit.

i have a shower to go take, so that's all for me kids.

until tomorrow...

so what do you do when your mother tells the doctor she's thinking of suicide?

for the last few months, i've been going into all of these doctor's appointments with my mother, mostly because her memory is shit anymore. so today, she was basically pissed off because she has to learn from the doctor who ordered the MRI what the results are, even though the doctor we were seeing today (the family doctor) knows the results. so mom vented about her frustration with the system and more than 3 times said why she has been thinking about killing herself. when the doctor left the room i told her you know he has to put that in his notes and keep it up and you'll be in the loony bin and there won't be a thing i can do for you. on the way home she started mentioning drugs she has stashed, just in case. and i'm supposed to be the crazy one in the family. joy.

thank fucking god that is the last doctor's appointment she has for the year. between her old employer not stopping her old insurance because they are fucking too lazy to do some paperwork and mom's total frustration with being unable to come to terms with her disabilities and forced retirement; add on to the fact that she is still in the grieving process for her husband that died in 2002, i've had about as much as i can fucking take with this shit at the moment.

the finale of The Voice last night reminded me just how racist this country still fucking is. as much as i knew Kirk and Kennedy were the best two, both are black, so the chances of them winning were slim. but the fact that they were 3rd and 4th is truly a fucking joke. i swear, i hope one year all 4 finalists are black. i guarantee the show will be ended when that happens.

Smackdown was really good last night.

the New York Rangers were losing 1-0 last night in the 3rd period. suddenly, Anaheim's legs got heavy and the Rangers took control. and holy shit, the Rangers ended up winning 3-1. i certainly did not expect that after the first two periods.

Manchester United found their caretaker manager...

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and New Day's WWE 2018 Special. i'll watch NXT, NXT UK and 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i'll be at the Dayton Flyers game tonight against Western Michigan. honestly, if Dayton doesn't win tonight, i will be beyond fucking pissed. mom isn't going to the game with me tonight. i think she has realized she can't really sit for a couple hours and actually feel comfortable.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'd like to get some poetry work done in the morning. so, i'm shooting for the afternoon i guess.

best of luck to the last minute shoppers out there. your time is near.

hopefully last medical trip of 2017

i took my mother to her ear doctor today. i was going to put the guy that fucked up her ear, but i decided not to. basically, she had another hearing test, which did show some hearing loss in one of her ears. also, he told her the only thing he could do was give her the same shit that fucked her up last time and mom wants no part of that. but, i think she had to go see him to satisfy the fuckers trying to deny her disability claim. hopefully this will be the last visit to a waiting room for 2017.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. Hideo Itami showed up. The Revival is back. and there will be a women's Royal Rumble at the ppv in January. that should be very interesting.

The Voice was really good last night. i still think Chloe will be the winner, although i wouldn't be shocked if Addison wins tonight either.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Smackdown and Drop the Mic. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight out in California at Saint Mary's. Dayton is a pretty big underdog tonight, so i'm not expecting much from them. and if it gets really bad, i'll simply just go to sleep.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Anaheim. they are supposed to get Mika Zibanejad back from a concussion tonight. hopefully he gives the power play a much needed jolt of energy.

i did get all my Christmas gifts wrapped last night.

a big thank you to John Sweet for the poetry books he sent me in the mail. that was a nice surprise today.

that's all for me today kids. i'll probably be on here tomorrow sometime after Manchester United plays.

what a crazy day

when a day involves an assassination that makes you think of WWI and 2 other incidents in Europe that will most likely be terrorist acts, it certainly makes you wonder when WWIII is going to start. and how many in this country are going to be fucking crazy when they find out we are helping Russia fight it. i certainly imagine anyone old enough to remember Russia being the sworn enemy forever isn't going to be happy helping the former head of the KGB with a war. of course, i'm probably get way ahead of myself, i doubt many Americans actually know that Putin was once the head of the KGB.

my thoughts to everyone in Turkey, Berlin and Zurich. i would say prayers but religion is killing us all.

i did write some more poems today, of course. i typed up all 3 of them this afternoon. i really, REALLY like all 3 of them. i'll probably send them out in early 2017. i really want the rest of this year to just be a writing period.

WWE Roadblock: End of the Line was pretty good last night. i thought Sam Roberts did a great job on the pre-show. i loved that The New Day lost the tag titles to Sheamus and Cesaro. a heel Neville is exactly what the Cruiserweights need. i wasn't in love with Charlotte winning over Sasha Banks, but if that sets up Bayley winning the title down the line, i'm ok. i am happy that Kevin Owens is still the Universal Champion, although i really didn't need another Shield reunion tease with Reigns and Rollins putting Jericho and Owens through tables. all in all, not a bad way to end the shitty year of 2016.

i figured if i picked against the New Orleans Saints yesterday they would win. i was correct. Drew Brees had a monster game and the Saints beat Arizona 48-41.

the New York Rangers won in a shootout yesterday over the Devils, 3-2. the Rangers never had a lead in the game, so stealing that one is a little bit sweeter. they play again tomorrow night against Pittsburgh.

the season finale of Shameless last night was excellent. i absolutely loved it.

The Affair was excellent as well last night. Brendan Fraser was creepy as fuck once again.

the Motorhead: Clean Your Clock special last night only reminded me how much i miss Lemmy.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Wall (Game Show). i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

adding to this crazy day, the fucking sun made an appearance. i was actually able to walk down to the street and get the paper and mail without having the fear of walking on ice for a change.

i will be making yet another fucking trip to the grocery store tomorrow. my sister comes down on Wednesday, so lord knows i have to go get shit she wants and what mom wants. sounds like another pit stop in the liquor store again.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. if not. climb the tallest tree you can find and then contemplate the joy of falling.

it almost started to melt today...

i nearly got 4 hours of sleep in a row last night. i was sort of shocked to say the least. maybe it is all due to the impending visit to the doctor. i don't know, but i did feel somewhat refreshed this morning.

American Horror Story was excellent last night. i always love a season finale where i don't see the ending coming. i loved this season. might even have to get it on DVD sometime.

i might have watched a few minutes of Duck Dynasty last night. from what i saw, it was much better than the previous weeks.

the Dayton Flyers lost on a last second three last night, 60-57. this season has slowly turned into a nightmare. they overcame a 15 pt second half deficit to lose to a 3 from the exact same spot that USC beat them from earlier in the year. of course, if they wouldn't have started the second half with their heads up their asses, they would have won. Dayton was up by 5 at halftime. thank god i didn't go. i would have cut my arm off by now.

thankfully, the New York Rangers beat the fucking Islanders last night, 2-1 in Yankee Stadium. the Rangers are now 3-0 in outdoor games. not too shabby. they play again on Friday night. hopefully i will get to watch it. i have to say, the games at Yankee Stadium were a complete success.

the highlight from last night was this bit of nostalgia on Jimmy Fallon:

tonight, i'm looking forward to a new episode of The Big Bang Theory. looks like my inner geek will enjoy this one. also, i think there is a Saturday Night Live sports special as well. between that and trying to forget my arm really fucking hurts, my night is set.

my doctor's appointment is at 10 am tomorrow morning. i'm planning on being a good boy and waking up early and feeding the cats before i go to the doctor. i'm assuming i will be having tests in the afternoon or so, so i will get back on here whenever i get the chance tomorrow. hopefully full of drugs and good news.

hope everyone is well. and warm. and sick of fucking winter.

let the melting begin...

today was the first day in weeks it wasn't below freezing when i woke up. it's been around 40 degrees all day long. some of the ice and snow has started to melt. i imagine once the rain starts, it will all start to melt. but, until that happens the lane is like a damn skating rink. thankfully there is plenty of grass to walk in.

the New York Rangers frustrated the living shit out of me last night. i don't think i have ever seen a team turn down so many chances to shoot to try to make the perfect pass in my life. the light bulb must have finally gone on in the 3rd period when they were down 3-1. they came back to tie the game at 3 to force overtime. now, instead of taking advantage of a power play in overtime, they went back to pissing any good chances away. it didn't surprise me at all when they lost in the shootout. to a team missing 12 regulars. 4-3 loss but they did pick up a damn point. this team is just good enough to be mediocre.

a big thank you to Jonathan Hayes for sending me his book, American Haiku. what a fun, quick read. i really enjoyed it. check it out at Amazon.com. i highly recommend it.

i will be going to see the Dayton Flyers play Iona tonight. it should be a high scoring affair. it's on national tv (NBC Sports Network) so i do expect a pretty hyper crowd and game. hopefully Dayton plays just enough defense tonight to get another win at home. of course, it wouldn't surprise me if both teams were in the 90's tonight either.

i got the mix cd i had to do done this morning. i'm willing to bet that 90% of the songs on it my 10 year old cousin has never heard. i always enjoy the chance to educate or corrupt the youth.

i'm facing a big fucking decision in my fantasy football playoffs. do i bench Drew Brees for Andy Dalton like some of the "experts" are saying i should? i just can't bring myself to doing it. and if it costs me the chance to go to the finals, so be it. i just can't believe that will be the deciding factor. i'm a pretty decent underdog in that match on NFL.com. i'm still a 28 point favorite in the championship game on CBS. thankfully, i have no injury concerns at all this week. that's really helpful as i will be at a basketball game for a good portion of Sunday. Dayton plays Southern Cal.

that's pretty much all for today. hope this finds everyone well. i will hopefully have some good news to report tomorrow.
