i almost got some decent sleep last night. almost. but, i did get up this morning and got some shit done before i had to get mom up. she had company coming over this morning for breakfast. she of course missed the text message sent this morning, so i only got her up 5 minutes before that company came. but, in the end, all went well. breakfast was good (biscuits and gravy) and everyone had enough to eat.
the Dayton Flyers lost last night at UC, 66-59. you could tell Dayton was playing their 3rd game in 7 days. when you have no legs, jump shots don't go in. sure enough, it took Dayton over 11 minutes last night to get their first field goal.
the New York Rangers finally played like they gave a shit last night and won at Dallas, 3-1. helps when your goalie stops 41 of 42 shots.
i did watch some of Notre Dame defeating Indiana last night, 27-17. Notre Dame will now play Georgia on Jan, 1.
the Yankees made a trade last night with the Reds. they traded Jose Trevino to the Reds for 2 players. i do like the relief pitcher the Yankees got in the trade. today, the Yankees signed Paul Goldschmidt to play first base. just a one year deal, so i fucking love this move.
Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both good last night.
AEW Rampage was good last night.

Ohio State plays at home tonight in the college football playoffs against Tennessee. i'm hoping Ohio State wins.
i'm sure i will watch plenty of the college football playoffs today and some of both NFL games. and i will probably sprinkle in some soccer, hockey and god knows whatever else.
Penn State is currently destroying SMU 28-0 at halftime in the college football playoffs.
i am going to try to get the blog done tomorrow sometime between when the Manchester United game ends and the New York Rangers game begins.

i was hoping for the best today as Manchester United was playing on the road in the Europa League. they haven't won on the road in Europe since March of 2023. the first half was boring as fuck. then, United's keeper made a horrible pass and that of course ended up in the back of the net. thankfully, United made some subs and that made the difference. Rasmus Hojlund scored 2 goals after he got into the game. United tried to piss it away, but thankfully, United won 2-1. that gets them closer to making it to the knockout stages of the Europa League.
AEW Dynamite last night was very good.
The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.

it was a fine mist/drizzle all fucking day today. just enough to make me miserable. add in the fact i woke up late... that meant i missed just about all of the France vs. Morocco World Cup game. but, i did get all the grocery shopping done. i had to make a special trip to Meijer today. we had a Christmas tree die on us last night. the lights completely fizzled. i can't really complain. we had the tree more than 10 years. so, i went to Meijer and found the Charlie Brown Christmas tree. i figure that is the perfect tree for this Christmas.
France defeated Morocco today at the World Cup, 2-0. that sets up a World Cup final of France vs. Argentina. Croatia will play Morocco in the 3rd place game.
the finale of The Voice last night was good. i wasn't really surprised when Bryce won last night.
NXT was good last night.

the cops are across the street doing something, so it finally feels like the holidays around here.
i did get all my laundry done yesterday. nothing quite like almost throwing your back out while putting a fitted sheet on your bed. good times.
i did watch a good portion of that Colts vs. Patriots game last night.
the Dayton Flyers had way too many turnovers last night at Ole Miss. doesn't help that the majority of the Ole Miss team is between the age of 20 to 26. the kids on the Flyers looked timid for way too much of the game. Dayton lost last night to Ole Miss, 76-68.
the USMNT did not play well last night. Bosnia & Herzegovina were down to 10 men for the last 55 minutes of the friendly. if the USA would have won comfortably last night, i would feel much better. instead, they won 1-0. it does close out the most successful calendar year they have ever had.
i did watch plenty of college basketball yesterday, as well as some of La Liga and the Bundesliga on ESPN+.
Saturday Night Live was pretty weird last night. they had to really shuffle the show because of the latest COVID variant running wild in New York City.
