i almost got some decent sleep last night. almost. but, i did get up this morning and got some shit done before i had to get mom up. she had company coming over this morning for breakfast. she of course missed the text message sent this morning, so i only got her up 5 minutes before that company came. but, in the end, all went well. breakfast was good (biscuits and gravy) and everyone had enough to eat.
the Dayton Flyers lost last night at UC, 66-59. you could tell Dayton was playing their 3rd game in 7 days. when you have no legs, jump shots don't go in. sure enough, it took Dayton over 11 minutes last night to get their first field goal.
the New York Rangers finally played like they gave a shit last night and won at Dallas, 3-1. helps when your goalie stops 41 of 42 shots.
i did watch some of Notre Dame defeating Indiana last night, 27-17. Notre Dame will now play Georgia on Jan, 1.
the Yankees made a trade last night with the Reds. they traded Jose Trevino to the Reds for 2 players. i do like the relief pitcher the Yankees got in the trade. today, the Yankees signed Paul Goldschmidt to play first base. just a one year deal, so i fucking love this move.

so, let me begin where this little adventure called life left off yesterday. i needed the top team in the Mexican soccer league to beat one of the worst ones to get a 5 team parlay to hit. so, i watched them lose at home to that lower team, 2-1. now, apparently, that set off a major case of bad mojo as most of my bets this morning are fucking losers. that includes Manchester United losing at home to Crystal Palace, 1-0. as soon as Palace scored this morning, i fucking turned the game off and got ready to go to the bank. this is going to be one of those days where i know i will need to be extra vigilant with my own anger.

i guess my dead to me sister is supposedly coming down in a little bit. mom told me to be on my best behavior. that made me laugh. i said i will, i won't say anything to the dead. this should be fun.
so i did go out shopping today. i had to get some stuff at Rite Aid. after that, i went to Meijer. i found some baseball cards and baseball card supplies. that made me very happy. i also found mom's favorite coffee and the Diet Coke was on sale. $1 cheaper than Kroger, so i got a good amount of that for mom.
my dead to me sister is supposed to be bringing down mom's new rollator for the house. her walker isn't really helping her anymore. and it is fucking depressing watching her struggle to get to a chair to be able to sit and rest. so, i am hoping this new rollator really helps her mobility and also raises her confidence at the same time.
i didn't write any poems yesterday. nothing really came into mind that sparked the imagination. one of those days just to fall asleep in the sun.

i like to be alone when i shop, especially given the times we are living in. and while i am a pretty patient person, i have my limits. at the grocery store today, this elderly woman was in her own fucking world. no mask on, searching for some kind of bacon. she moved away and i went in to get some breakfast sausage that i had been waiting 3 minutes to get. before i could even open the door to get the sausage, she got back in front of me to look yet again. i should have started coughing at that point. the store was out of a few things. i'm sure it was because the elderly had ransacked the damn place this morning. all in all, between the 3 stores i went to, i got most of what was on the list. i know i have pills to pick up later this week, so i'm going to try to find the other stuff then. i kept everything under $150, which i was pretty happy about.

the New York Yankees lost again last night, 5-1. the offense has gone missing the last few days. the game today already got postponed due to rain. they will play a doubleheader tomorrow, with the second game being the game they will retire Derek Jeter's number 2.
