that was about where the good news stopped today at my doctor's appointment. my A1C went back up to 7.1... i kind of expected it with all the stress of the kitchen renovation and all the fast food i have had in the past few weeks... what i am hoping is i can get it back down by the time i go back in March.
the Dayton Flyers won last night at home against Oakland, 91-67. here is what the Oakland coach said after the game.
the season finale of The Masked Singer was crazy as usual.
AEW Dynamite was good last night.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be the finale of Big Brother: Reindeer Games and NJPW.
the New Orleans Saints plays tonight at the Rams.
in a kitchen renovation update, the vent hood will be going in on Saturday morning. so, i guess i will be up early. thankfully, Manchester United plays at 7:30 in the morning on Saturday, so i should be up before the contractor gets here.
if mom feels up to it, i might take her out tonight to look at some lights. that might actually get her in a better mood. this whole process of the renovation has her depressed big time.
i'm not sure when i will be on here tomorrow.
i know i need to get some gifts wrapped soon.
i really think Alex Verdugo is going to play well this season for the Yankees. it sounds like he has a chip on his shoulder.
until tomorrow kids...

today was one of those mornings where you realize you should have just gone with alcohol instead of coffee. my best friend decided this was the morning she was going to tempt herself with suicide and of course blame it all on me. since i'm not the kind of friend that sugar coats shit or constantly tells someone what they want to hear, in her words, i am literally fucking killing her. i never knew my words were more deadly than cancer. the asshole in me smiles. i have no clue how long she will stay off that ledge, but i did tell her neither one of us are naive enough to believe suicide is impossible for either of us. fuck, i've attempted it 3 fucking times in my life. all it taught me is i haven't snuffed out my will to live completely yet. if there ever is a 4th time, i'm sure i will be at the point where i will be successful. as for my friend, she has asked me to change who i am so we can continue to talk. my solution to this problem is silence. that is the change she will get. just as she can't believe i think she should be able to move on from ex after so many years, i can't believe she wants me to change after i have been the same damn friend to her for the last 20 years. a little advice, when the crazy people in your life are going through some terminal type shit, swallow your pride as much as you can and eat a little healthier so you can outlive the fucker.
mom's doctor's appointment went very well today. everything with her hip looks good and she doesn't need to go back unless something goes wrong in the future. of course, that's the closest of all her appointments she has. but, at least that's one out of the way.
here is your World Cup update:
from the last time i posted, a ton of shit has happened. Croatia defeated Iceland yesterday 2-1. Argentina got a goal very late from Marcos Rojo (Manchester United) to defeat Nigeria 2-1. this morning, Sweden shocked Mexico 3-0 to win Group F. South Korea shocked Germany 2-0 to eliminate Germany. this is the first time i can ever remember Germany not making it out of the group stage. this afternoon, Brazil defeated Serbia 2-0. Switzerland and Costa Rica played to a 2-2 draw. tomorrow, Senegal plays Colombia, Japan takes on Poland, Panama plays Tunisia and England takes on Belgium. tomorrow is the last day for the group stage.
the New York Yankees won yesterday at Philadelphia 6-0. they will go for the sweep tonight.
Smackdown was really good last night. i got a big smile on my face at the end of the show with Team Hell No reuniting.
205 Live was excellent last night.
day 2 of the WWE UK special was really good.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night.
The Jim Jefferies Show was very good last night.

my arthritis has been killing me for most of today. i knew it was really bad when i could barely hold my turkey burger when i was at lunch today with my mother. i ended up eating most of it with a fucking fork. 42 going 80. what a joy.
i'll be sure to post a link on the blog when my chapbook comes out in the first week of July. i really hope everyone likes it as much as i do.
that's all for me today kids. if i turn to the bottle tonight, i have no clue when/if you will hear from me tomorrow.

probably around 10 last night, my arthritis started raging. i tried drinking. i tried the massage chair. i tried watching porn. none of it helped at all. i think i tossed and turned all night long. the last 10 hours or so have been a fresh slice of hell. joy.
i did take mom to the doctor yesterday. the doctor believes her cough is from post nasal drip. so we had to go to the drugstore to pick up some over the counter shit that should take care of that. more concerning for me was my mother's blood pressure. it was way elevated yesterday. she told the doctor that she takes it every morning on her little wrist monitor. the doctor told my mother those aren't accurate. so, that was another thing we had to get yesterday at the drugstore. and judging from what the new monitor said the first two times mom used it, i think when she goes back to the doctor in a month, they will be changing her blood pressure medication. good times.
i saw an interesting news piece on Vice News Tonight last night. it was about this black woman from America that has started a retreat for black women in Costa Rica. she made the comment that she believes white people, especially from America, shouldn't have passports as white people have already done enough damage to the world. i laughed and told my mother it's just my luck. i have wanted to live in Costa Rica for the last few years. my luck, i'd find this amazing black woman that i would want to spend the rest of my life with there, but she believes i'm an evil person and wants nothing to do with me because of the color of my skin. it's like my life in high school all over again.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i do love how they are getting Elias over and i do love a pissed off Seth Rollins.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Baskets and Hate Thy Neighbor. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the New York Rangers lost last night 2-1 at Dallas. i am shocked at how bad the defense on this team truly is. if The King wouldn't have been sharp last night, they would have lost by 5 or 6 goals. the best thing this team could do is trade as many people as possible, tank the season, miss the playoffs and hope you can luck into the top draft choice. and getting a new coach wouldn't hurt either.
i've been exchanging emails with the last woman i fell in love with today. it went way better than i expected it to. so, as you can imagine, i'll be doing some writing here soon.
well, instead of listening to my mother cough up a lung in the next room, i think i'm going to go next door and do the trash.
that's all for me kids.

i think i got to bed around 4 in the morning or so. i was up 2 hours later as i'm still fighting this damn cold. staying hydrated means i go to the bathroom like a guy in his damn 70's. thankfully, i got a few more hours of sleep after that. i haven't taken anything for my cold for about 18 hours or so. a few coughing fits, sort of like back in my smoking days. it's up to the white blood cells now.
The Grammy Awards were pretty good last night, even though i was furious with the technical fuck ups during Lady Gaga's performance with Metallica. the tribute to Prince was awesome. i loved that Adele put so much into her tribute to George Michael. and Adele basically saying that Beyonce should have won all the big awards was truly a highlight.
and of course, a couple of shits from Ohio did this:
all in all, a pretty good night.
WWE Elimination Chamber last night was great. even though i was tired as fuck when i watched it, i really enjoyed all the matches. i love that Naomi is now the Women's Champion and i am fucking thrilled that Bray Wyatt is the new Heavyweight Champion. it's about damn time.
The Young Pope was excellent last night. the season finale tonight should be really good.
the return of Girls last night was ok. there was a few funny lines but... thank god it's the final season.
Homeland was great last night. i love a holy shit ending.
Last Week Tonight was absolutely fucking brilliant last night, as usual.

i'm not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i believe i have to drive mom around for a few things and i need to go to the bank.

so i woke up early this morning, wondering just what Manchester United team i would see. the first thing i heard was that Wayne Rooney was on the bench. i was delighted for as much as i love Wayne, his time as a starter is quickly coming to an end. when the game started, United was a little tentative until they scored. a Chris Smalling header put them ahead 1-0. then, the team started to show glimpses of the Manchester United teams from the past. they were marauding forward with glee. Juan Mata scored next on a wonderful bit of play between him, Pogba and Lingard. Rashford scored a few minutes later on another corner kick. and then, just 2 minutes after that, Paul Pogba scored his first Manchester United goal. 4-0 at halftime and it could have been more. this was the best half i had seen United play since the days of Sir Alex. they ended up winning the game 4-1 over Leicester City. now that's how i love to start my weekend.
the New York Yankees got killed last night, 9-0. i think they had 3 hits in the game. i don't expect it to be much better today in Toronto. thankfully, the season will be over soon.
NJPW was excellent last night.
High Maintenance was fucking great last night. oh how i miss smoking weed.
i did write 5 poems last night. i typed them up and i really like a couple of them. i'm probably going to send out another submission before the end of the month.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH. i'll probably be flipping between college football and the 2016 Global Citizen Festival for most of the day.
if the weather is nice enough today, i might actually go out and feed the birds.
for some reason, mom wants Taco Bell for lunch today. so, i know where i'm going this afternoon. yes, you're correct... the toilet.

here is part of the reason i insist on making all my bank transactions in person, instead of online. the joy of driving up to the bank right as a drug deal goes down is always interesting. standing in line behind the guy who just bought the drugs is a poem in itself. watching him struggle to come up with small talk because, as a white guy, i always run to the cops when i see shit... that was hilarious. i simply played like i saw nothing mostly because, i don't give a shit. i'm not one of those people that think i should be doing the cops job for them. they are employed for a reason. also, growing up in a black community, you learn pretty quick that there are some cops you can talk to and be cool with and some are dirty as fuck and will fuck over anyone, no matter their race, to get ahead. none of this shit could be learned or enjoyed with an online transaction. so, sure it was hot as fuck and the car has shitty air conditioning, but it was worth it.
the New York Yankees won yesterday, 5-3. they tried their hardest to give it away, but thankfully the bullpen came through. they play against Toronto again tonight at home.
Monday Night Raw was not good last night. i did enjoy that Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens are going to be feuding, but other than that, the show was shit.
the finale of the UFC documentary on CM Punk last night was pretty interesting. it's funny to think that his first fight in the UFC will be in the same arena where he quit the WWE. that should be very interesting.
the game last night between Florida State and Ole Miss was like two different games. Ole Miss was great in the first half. but, Florida State came out in the second half on fire and simply blew them the fuck away. Florida State won 45-34.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be WWE Smackdown, Hard Knocks and Atlanta.
USA men's soccer team plays Trinidad and Tobago tonight. a win gives them the group and a meeting with Mexico in the cold, sometime in November. that game would probably be in Columbus. hopefully i'm enjoying a victory tonight.
i guess Sunday took much more out mom than she thought it would. so, i have to take her back to the chiropractor on Thursday. i'm hoping she starts to feel better soon.
i've got the trash all picked up, so i think i'm going to go take a shower. enjoy the visual.

so when i went out to get the paper this morning, the sun was out. i put on a coat and immediately thought, i probably should have put on something other than pajama pants to do this. it wasn't too bad; 16 degrees, wind chill of -5, but i knew if i was out too long i would be fucked. at least i did put up my hood on my coat.
the New York Rangers proved once again yesterday that they just aren't a very good team at the moment. consistency is something they are lacking and it is becoming more frustrating with each game. they haven't won 2 games in a row since before Thanksgiving. they lost yesterday to Washington, 5-2. they play Vancouver tomorrow. thankfully, i will be watching basketball.
i got both NFL playoff games right yesterday. i am now 6-2 in the playoffs, not too bad.
Shameless was excellent last night. i will never complain when i get to see Emmy Rossum naked. plus, the ending was one of those classic holy shit moments.
i knew i was going to like Billions within the first 30 seconds. Paul Giamatti bound and gagged with a dominatrix putting her high heel in the middle chest. cigarette put out on his chest and then pissed on. yep, there's a show i know i'm going to like. especially when the ending of the first episode reveals who that dominatrix is. i can't wait to see how this season unravels.
i also watched some of the UFC last night. i really enjoyed the Cruz vs. Dillashaw fight. i thought Cruz won, just barely. so the split decision was understandable.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
all i'm planning on watching tonight is Monday Night Raw and probably some pro and college basketball.
i did pick up a Paul Thorn song today at NoiseTrade. i'll have the link for that below in the music section.
hard to believe i'll be 40 in 3 days. especially when i first thought about killing myself at age 8, failed at doing it at 17 and 23 and was totally convinced that i was going to die with the blood clots at 32. let alone hoping i was going to be part of the 27 club. i suppose if life really does begin at 40, maybe the worm will turn and things will start looking up for me. maybe.
i hope everyone had a great weekend. and hopefully you are warm wherever the fuck you are.

i was watching the New York Rangers piss away chance after chance last night and decided to just turn on some music. but instead of my usual mix of metal, rock, death metal and more rock, i decided to go back to my high school roots and play some R&B, hip hop, techno, etc. if i would have had a joint, it would have almost been a perfect evening. that is, if the Rangers would have ever scored.
the Rangers had 40 shots on goal last night. i have Florida's goalie on my hockey fantasy team, but decided not to use him as i didn't want to watch my Rangers lose but feel good that my fantasy team did well. my mistake. it's not that the shutout (3-0) would have helped me in fantasy hockey, but it certainly wouldn't have hurt. the Rangers just can't seem to put it all together game after game after game anymore. i think it might be time for a trade just for the sake of making a trade. wake the players up so to speak. who knows, but this is quickly becoming a season of what could have been.
thankfully, Austin City Limits was fucking amazing last night. i absolutely love Alabama Shakes. it's definitely one of the bands that makes me believe that great music still exists in the world. i've been torn on Vintage Trouble over the years. after watching them last night, i'm sold. i went on NoiseTrade and got the sampler and will now be a fan. this will hopefully be an episode that stays on my DVR for years.
ROH was excellent last night as well. it was really good to see Stevie Richards wrestling again. plus, they almost sold me on getting the NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 10 tonight. but, i really don't feel like sitting at the computer at 3 in the morning watching wrestling. plus, i would probably prefer to listen in Japanese. but lord knows i will check the results when i wake up and probably be pissed that i missed the "match of the year" between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
the New Orleans Saints finish their season off today at Atlanta. if they win, they will avoid a 10 loss season. the game doesn't mean anything other than pride today. so the Saints will probably lose.
not sure which games i'll be watching today. most likely the Jets as mom will be most interested in that one.
i think i may do some writing tonight or maybe some more work for my next YouTube video. there's really nothing i'm planning on watching tonight, so i won't have any distractions other than a football game.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday night. hopefully your Sunday will be even better. there's a chance it might snow here tomorrow, so look out for some pictures possibly. i know i really should take one of the Christmas lights we have up before i'm ordered to take them down. i'm more of the fucker that would just leave them up all year. you know, the asshole with a Christmas tree on his front porch.
