i got the results from my x-rays this morning. apparently, the arthritis has set up in my neck and is causing chaos. i have some bone spurs and i'm going to assume, that is what is causing the pinched nerve. of course, i still have to take that EMG, which should clear up any doubts.
i spent a good portion of yesterday watching the Global Citizen music festival.
the New York Yankees lost last night at the Rangers, 9-4. they play their final game of the regular season this afternoon. they will play the Twins in the playoffs.
Ohio State started off on fire last night and whipped Nebraska 48-7. Ohio State really looks like a team that will compete for a national championship this season.
Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.
ROH was good last night.
both episodes of NJPW were good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Power, Succession, Ballers, The Righteous Gemstones, Last Week Tonight, The Affair and On Becoming A God in Central Florida.
the New Orleans Saints play tonight at home against Dallas. that should be (hopefully) a great game.
i know mom has a doctor's appointment tomorrow. i'm going to try to get the blog done in the morning, mostly because when we get home, i'll be trying to catch the last of Manchester United vs. Arsenal.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.
until tomorrow kids...

Ohio State was down 12 with 8 minutes to go last night at Penn State. this was a situation that i figured they would be in and i was really interested to see how they would respond. what happened gave me enough to believe that if the cards happen to fall just right, Ohio State could win it all this season. 2 amazing drives and a great defensive stand/or just shitty play calling from a scared Penn State coaching staff gave Ohio State a 27-26 victory.
the New York Yankees won yesterday 8-5 in Boston. that gives them 100 victories on the season. they also set the team record for hone runs in a season. they will hopefully extend that record later today. Andujar broke Joe DiMaggio's team record for doubles by a rookie. i'd love to see them get the sweep of the Red Sox today, but all i really care about is staying healthy and getting the pitching set up for the wild card game at home on Wednesday.
the Yankees also became the first team ever to have every spot in the batting order have 20 or more home runs on the season.
Saturday Night Live was pretty fucking funny last night.
ROH was really good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Deuce, Ballers, the season finale of Insecure, Last Week Tonight, America to Me, Shameless and Kidding.
the New Orleans Saints play at the New York Giants this afternoon. the game doesn't start until 4:25, so i'll be able to get some shit done before i settle in to watch it.
i did watch a good portion of the Global Citizen concert last night, once i remembered that it was on.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

so i woke up this morning to the news of Jose Fernandez dying in a boating accident. i was just talking about him a couple of days ago with some Yankees fans wondering what prospects the Yankees should give up to get him. just 24 years old and an electric arm. he didn't even make it to his prime, where he would have easily been one of the best pitchers in the history of the majors. my condolences to his family, his friends, his teammates and anyone who actually still loved the game of baseball.
the New York Yankees lost yesterday 3-0. yet another game with just 3 hits. this was the first time they had been shut out 3 games in a row since 1975. thankfully, this season will be over soon.
i did flip around and watch some college football last night. i even watched a little UFC. but most of the evening was watching the Global Citizen Festival.
ROH last night was excellent. i'll never get bored of watching Adam Cole wrestle.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be the season finales of Power and Ballers; The Strain, Masters of Sex and Last Week Tonight. i have no clue how much of that i will actually watch since i have to be up before the crack of dawn to take mom to get her MRI done.
also tonight, WWE Clash of Champions will be on WWE Network. i figure i will watch that, even though i'm sure the writers will find a way to fuck it up.
the New Orleans Saints don't play until Monday night, so i'll probably just flip between games today. mostly just watching the guys on my fantasy teams. i'm a slight favorite in one and a 60 point underdog in the other. good times.
the Taco Bell yesterday didn't destroy me, yet. although, i did take too big of a bite on some spicy cheese and oh shit, i thought death was coming my way.
i did do a little poetry work last night. i got 10 poems together to send out sometime in the next few days.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

so i woke up early this morning, wondering just what Manchester United team i would see. the first thing i heard was that Wayne Rooney was on the bench. i was delighted for as much as i love Wayne, his time as a starter is quickly coming to an end. when the game started, United was a little tentative until they scored. a Chris Smalling header put them ahead 1-0. then, the team started to show glimpses of the Manchester United teams from the past. they were marauding forward with glee. Juan Mata scored next on a wonderful bit of play between him, Pogba and Lingard. Rashford scored a few minutes later on another corner kick. and then, just 2 minutes after that, Paul Pogba scored his first Manchester United goal. 4-0 at halftime and it could have been more. this was the best half i had seen United play since the days of Sir Alex. they ended up winning the game 4-1 over Leicester City. now that's how i love to start my weekend.
the New York Yankees got killed last night, 9-0. i think they had 3 hits in the game. i don't expect it to be much better today in Toronto. thankfully, the season will be over soon.
NJPW was excellent last night.
High Maintenance was fucking great last night. oh how i miss smoking weed.
i did write 5 poems last night. i typed them up and i really like a couple of them. i'm probably going to send out another submission before the end of the month.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be ROH. i'll probably be flipping between college football and the 2016 Global Citizen Festival for most of the day.
if the weather is nice enough today, i might actually go out and feed the birds.
for some reason, mom wants Taco Bell for lunch today. so, i know where i'm going this afternoon. yes, you're correct... the toilet.
i hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i suppose it was around 2 in the morning that i decided i should just go to sleep. if the DVR has done one thing for me, it has given me at least more consistent sleep. not better or longer, but at least i'm now getting 4 or 5 hours at a time. the whole sleeping for 2 and then trying to fall back to sleep and get another 2 was certainly getting old. let alone how old it was making me. now i only feel like i'm 70 instead of 85.
yesterday was a day of victory beers. rare i can have one of those anymore.
Ohio State beat Western Michigan yesterday 38-12. the offense looked better but still left too many points out on the field. at least three would be touchdowns were under thrown. and they still didn't run the ball enough in my eyes. the defense gave up a ton of yards but did a great job limiting the damage. the special teams played really good. Big Ten play starts next week. they better fine tune everything once again.
the New York Yankees i guess are saving the offense for the playoffs. they got some really good pitching yesterday and just enough offense to beat the White Sox 2-1. they go for the series win this afternoon. the magic number to clinch a payoff spot is now 4.
i watched a good portion of the Global Citizen Festival yesterday. MSNBC was killing me with all the fucking commercials. nothing like the hypocrisy of trying to make the world a better place while still being a slave to capitalism. then the fuckers only showed bits and pieces of the Pearl Jam performance as of course, they had to run commercials. thankfully, i found the broadcast on YouTube and got to see everything i missed. the performances were great by the way. Eddie Vedder and Beyonce doing "Redemption Song" and Beyonce and Ed Sheeran doing "Drunk in Love" were my top highlights. oh, and watching Bill Nye geek out to Pearl Jam covering "Rockin' in the Free World"
ROH was excellent last night. anytime an episode starts off with Matt Sydal vs. Kushida and finishes off with Nakamura vs. Adam Cole, you have yourself a damn near perfect episode of wrestling.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
i made some changes to my fantasy football rosters this morning. i guess i'll know by Monday night if i made the right choices or not.
the New Orleans Saints play at Carolina today without Drew Brees. i think they might keep it closer than people think, but i don't have much hope of them winning.
the New York Rangers beat the Devils last night 4-3. they scored 2 third period goals to win. they lost the exhibition 3 on 3 OT mostly because they took a penalty. 3 on 3 will definitely be crazy to watch this season. the team made some cuts after the game that kind of shocked me. but, i think the guys i wanted to get a longer look will probably be up mid-season anyway.
on the DVR tonight will be Last Week Tonight, The Strain, Ray Donovan, Masters of Sex and the VICE Special Report: Fixing The System.
i'm not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. with mom being away, i have plenty of shit i want to get done. i need to go to the bank to made a deposit. i have a tree to cut down. i'm sure i'll have dishes to do, toilets to clean, carpet to vacuum and i don't want to be the asshole who waits until right before she comes home to do it. of course, that's probably what i'll end up doing. i do know i want to start cranking out the poetry submissions tomorrow and since i'll be going out to the bank, i might as well put the post office on the list. so if i'm a good boy and get my ass in gear in the morning, i'll be on here in the afternoon. but no promises.
i hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday. other than the rain and my bone spurs fucking with me, mine wasn't bad. enjoy your Sunday. may whatever ritual you have for the day agree with you.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

music: (see if you see what i did with the song titles... always a poet)
Eddie Vedder - Imagine (Live)
Placebo - Pure Morning
Fiona Apple - Across the Universe
Enigma - Return to Innocence
The Black Lillies - Whiskey Angel
"The first job of a writer is to be honest." - Irvine Welsh
when i saw the weather forecast last night i wasn't pleased. i knew with the rain and clouds moving in, my body would be aching. so i said fuck it and stayed up late last night doing some poetry work. i figured out 2 other places to send to so whenever i send these poems out, it's going to be a massive submission. since mom will be gone, i'm thinking i'm going to dust off one of my classic late Sunday night/Monday morning poetry sessions. if i get in the right mood, i might even crank out a new YouTube video.
i downloaded the new Run The Jewels album this morning. it was FREE. i thought the remixes with cat sounds was going to be dumb, but honestly, it's fucking brilliant. i'll put the link to it down in the music section.
NJPW was excellent last night. i am even more tempted now to get their streaming service.
the New York Yankees spit the bit last night and lost 5-2. they had plenty of chances but hit into a double play every fucking time they had a chance to score runs. it's painfully obvious with the pitching in tatters and the offense more cold than hot down the stretch, there will be no long playoff run this season. hell, i'm still not convinced they are going to make it to the playoffs to begin with. they play again this afternoon. i won't be watching.
time for some music kids, enjoy:
and now some of this and that:
i got up this morning and much to my delight, Manchester Shitty lost 4-1. that meant if United could win, they would go to the top of the league. of course, i had to drive mom to get her rental car at the same time the game started. i recorded it and basically fast forwarded most of the game when i got back home. thank god, Wayne Rooney finally ended his goal scoring drought. the other goals were scored by Memphis and Juan Mata. the 3-0 win over Sunderland puts Manchester United at the top of the Premier League. i'm not sure how many times i'm going to be able to say that this season, so i'm going to enjoy that victory beer.
Ohio State plays Western Michigan this afternoon. god willing, the offense actually starts to click this week. but if i could give the offensive coordinator a bit of advice... RUN THE FUCKING BALL...
i have that Global Citizen Festival set to record today while i'm watching sports. mostly i want to see Pearl Jam play. i figure i will flip over to it at times today. on the DVR tonight will be ROH.
that's pretty much all for me today. i hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. enjoy some sun, some drinks, some lines of whatever and whatever the fuck else your heart desires.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

i decided to take the weekend off from the blog. i figured no one needed to read all the bitching and moaning from this weekend.
thankfully, the whole weekend was not lost for the Yankees. they did manage to make the playoffs. now, they have 3 games to go win the division. i'm hoping for a sweep of Boston while Baltimore loses at least 1 game against Tampa Bay. i don't care how they do it, just get it done. avoid the 1 game playoff at all costs. although, i'm pretty sure Detroit is going to win the Central Division, so hopefully Texas stumbles and the Yankees end up with the best record in the AL. i don't feel good about another first round against Detroit. not with our pitching. unless, they plan on turning every game into slow pitch softball.
watching Manchester United fall asleep on defense 3 fucking times and lose 3-2 was humbling on Saturday. i was a bit torn as Clint Dempsey scored the winner for Tottenham. Clint is one of my all-time favorites among American players. back to Champions League play tomorrow. back in the old days, after a loss like that, i would expect big things. but, it's now 2012. those days are long gone. i'll be happy with 3 points and no fucking injuries for a change.
i was very happy that Ohio State won on Saturday. ugly, but a fucking win. hopefully, the tackling continues to get better and maybe they can start making things easier for themselves.
thankfully the Global Citizen concert was on and provided some much needed relief for myself. i really enjoyed all the acts and they really helped a shit Saturday for the most part be much less stinging. not sure how much more of a Global Citizen i want to be, but my eyes were opened.
as for Sunday...
incredible choke job by the USA in the Ryder Cup.
looks like i have a decent chance to win 2 of 3 of my fantasy football games. of course, the 1 that is getting beat like a abused child was previously undefeated. hard to win when none of your wide receivers score. fuck me.
actually managed to write a poem over the weekend. hopefully that will start a flood and i'll have a good batch to type up and send out soon.
a thank you to my stepbrother for being an asshole. i'm really enjoying your baseball cards.
a funny thought i had while driving today. when i was 18 years old i was supposed to move to Portland, Oregon but the friend i was going with left without me. fast forward 18 years later and i find out today that my former muse and possibly the last woman (maybe ever) i fell in love with, is moving to Portland, Oregon. what a cruel prick the lord can be.
music today:
