i've had better days...

so, the remnants of the hurricane have been pounding us all damn day. my arthritis is having a field day. but, that was just the start of the shit day i have had. my doctor's appointment was at 2:30. i got there at 2:15. i checked in and the woman at the desk said they tried to call you this morning because the woman you were supposed to see isn't here today. i never got the message or heard the phone. more on that in a bit. she asked me if i wanted to reschedule now? i said yes. i was hoping that someone there later in the afternoon would have an opening. of course not. so, my appointment now will be Monday at 12:30. joy. i texted mom to ask her to check the messages and see if they called this morning to reschedule my appointment. now, the doctor's office is about a 30 minute drive from the house. so, there was a hour of me driving in the rain today. i got home, and of course, mom knew nothing of the text message i sent. she told me before i left that she checked the phone and there were no messages. she checked again when i got home and i guess the doctor's office called at 7 this morning. i didn't get up until 8:15. so, i now get to be the one to always check the messages. we get 50 fucking calls a day from spam or fuckers trying to get mom to switch her Medicare. i'm at the point where i want to get rid of the land line and preferably with a shotgun. and i'm in too much pain to be angry. these are the days where the 8 year old me is laughing in the corner, shaking his head, knowing he was right. (for anyone who doesn't get the reference, i was 8 years old the first time i ever thought of suicide)

the Yankees won last night at home against Baltimore, 10-1. that clinches the AL East. they have a magic number of 2 for the best record in the American League. they start a series tonight at home against Pittsburgh.

the New York Rangers played at home last night against Boston. they won the preseason game, 5-2.

Big Brother was good last night. Leah was the first evicted. Angela was the second eviction. Makensy is the new HOH.

The Old Man was very good last night.

NJPW was a rerun last night.

i did watch some of the boring ass game between the Cowboys and Giants.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, Inside the NFL, AEW Rampage and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

i am going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow.

of course, that really depends on my pain tolerance i suppose.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

arthritis wins again...

it rained last night and a little bit today. that set me up for a day of just pure fucking misery. my arthritis has been raging since 3 in the morning. mind you, i didn't get to sleep until 5:30 this morning. the phone woke me up at 10 and i have been up since. there will most likely be a crash soon. joy.

grocery shopping went well today. of course, Rite Aid texted me at 2:30, while i was at Kroger, to tell me my Trulicity shots were ready to be picked up. so, after i unloaded everything at the house and put it away, i had to go there. and of course, it was sprinkling. at least the cost on the shots was $0.

the Yankees won last night at Toronto, 2-0. that was unexpected. Gerrit Cole pitches against the Blue Jays tonight.

NXT was very good last night.

the season finale of Deadliest Catch was crazy last night.

Inside the NFL was pretty good last night.

both episodes of Welcome to Wrexham were great last night.

Name That Tune was very good last night.

The Voice was good last night.

i did make it home in time to see Newcastle knock out Manchester City from the Carabao Cup. of course, in the next round, Manchester United will host Newcastle. that's a rematch from last year's final.

i did watch some of the New York Rangers preseason game last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite, American Horror Story and The Masked Singer.

i was in the grocery store when the big NBA trade happened today. and since a former Dayton Flyer is involved in it, i am now very interested in it.

i know i'm supposed to take mom to an appointment tomorrow afternoon. she said something about having to call scheduling to maybe reschedule that appointment. basically, as always, i'm on standby.

i need to get dinner going and get some ice on my back, so that's all for me today kids.

one of those days...

so, i was in the waiting room of where mom has physical therapy (completely forgot she had an appointment today) and felt like i had to fart. and then the feeling came over me that if i tried to let this out quietly, it wasn't going to be silent or a fart at all. so, i held it. wrote a poem about something else to take my mind off of it. mom still had 20 minutes left in her appointment. she got out on time and i decided to take the highway home, as i figured that would be faster. thankfully, it was. what i unleashed as soon as i started to sit down on the toilet was something out of a horror movie. i'm not sure if this was stress or my inner child wanting attention. but good lord, that was one of those shits that takes a few years off of your life.

and speaking of shitty, i did watch a little of the USMNT take on Saudi Arabia today. if these two warm-up games were supposed to give us a preview of what is to come for the World Cup, i suggest that USA Soccer start looking for a new head coach immediately. it was bad enough that they lost to Japan, 2-0. but, they didn't have their best player, so ok. well, they had that player today (Christian Pulisic) and the match against Saudi Arabia finished 0-0. so, i guess they don't plan on actually scoring at the World Cup. not sure how you advance out of the group stage by doing that. what i did see today actually put me to sleep.

the Yankees lost last night in Toronto, 3-2 in 10 innings. Judge is still stuck at 60 HR. i think he is still leading the triple crown race. hopefully, they will win tonight, Judge will homer a couple of times and they will celebrate finally clinching the division.

i didn't watch much of the Cowboys vs. Giants last night. the Cowboys won, 23-16.

The Voice was very good last night.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, NXT and the season finale of Deadliest Catch.

i'm trying to get my laundry done on top of everything else today. it makes me think of the line my mother used to say when i was younger... she was busier than 9 cats trying to cover up shit in a windstorm.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

after i get the laundry done, i'll pick up the trash tonight. hopefully, i'll get all that done before all the shows start tonight. (not likely)

of course, it is supposed to rain tomorrow. there is always some kind of weather other than nice on a fucking day i need to do something. it never fails.

so here is the conundrum i am having with mom. she is still in the self-sabotaging stage of life and i'm not sure how to break her of that, mostly because i'm not fully escaped from that shit either. plus, i basically can't get to sleep before 4 AM because she has her nightmare gasp or scream in the 3 o'clock hour nearly every damn night now. and 9 times out of 10, it is something that she believes is real in her bed and there is nothing there. so, any advice any of you have that have dealt with an older parent or loved one would be greatly appreciated.

to all my friends and fans in Florida, please stay safe.

total exhaustion...

so, i went to bed a little before 6 this morning. i have to do that every once in a while to completely reset my brain. if i don't fucking exhaust it, it never shuts off. now, a regular human would sleep to noon or something. i was up at 9. but, 3 solid hours is about all i can do these days. good times.

yesterday was a pretty good day for me when it came to sports. first up will be the New Orleans Saints. i was hoping they would bounce back against the Patriots, but i knew it wasn't going to be easy. silly me. i was really shocked the Patriots allowed the Saints to run the ball all game long. hell, if i was Sean Payton, i'm not sure if i would have called a damn pass in the game at all. the Saints defense played great and they won the turnover battle. that is always a recipe to win. the Saints won, 28-13.

the Yankees pulled off some late inning magic once again and swept the Red Sox last night, 6-3. that puts them in first place for the American League wild card. if they win out, they will host the wild card game. now, they have the toughest schedule left with 3 games at Toronto and 3 games at home against Tampa. the Toronto series starts tomorrow night.

Big Brother was good last night. i will be shocked if Xavier doesn't win it all.

Billions was great last night. season finale is next week.

American Rust was really good last night.

the season finale of Power Book III: Raising Kanan was excellent last night.

BMF was really good last night. it looks like it should be a good show.

Scenes From a Marriage was good last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as usual.

enjoy some music:

so, WWE Extreme Rules was pretty good last night. to be honest, the main event probably saved it from me hating it. the audio issues with Peacock last night were pissing me the fuck off. as well as the fucking commercials they put into the event. and i know this wasn't the WWE doing it, since none of the commercials were for their products.

i did listen to episode 362 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

i might watch some of the NFL game tonight between the Cowboys and Eagles.

i had to do some work in the garage today. i got all the bird food and the containers into trash bags. now, i need to go to Menard's and get all new shit.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. judging from my underwear drawer, i might need to do some laundry here soon.

while washing my hands...

i threw my back out this morning while washing my hands. i was just starting to put soap on my hands when i felt my back just give way. so, i know what i'll be doing the rest of the day. joy.

the Yankees won yesterday over the Marlins, 11-4. the last game of the season is today. if the Yankees win, they will be the 5th seed in the playoffs. if they lose and the Blue Jays win, the Yankees will be the 8th seed in the playoffs and playing down in that dump in Tampa.

ROH was really good last night.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

here are your NHL highlights from last night:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Lovecraft Country, The Vow, Last Week Tonight, Power Book II: Ghost, Our Cartoon President and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching WWE Clash of Champions on WWE Network for most of the evening.

the Saints play tonight at home against the Packers. i'm really hoping the Saints play better than they have in the first two weeks and win.

i might watch some of the NBA tonight.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm guessing in the afternoon.

i now have an account on Topps.com. i figure it's going to be easier to get cards on there than trying to get lucky at the stores. of course, with all the backlogs in shipping, i have no clue when the two boxes of cards i ordered last night are going to arrive.

well, i always have good intentions...

i went to bed last night before 3 AM. i told myself i needed to get up early. so, i first saw the clock at 4:10 AM. fuck me. i eventually got out of bed around 8:30 this morning. i wanted to wait until mom was up to go get at least the x-rays done. she didn't get up until after 11 AM. so yeah, i didn't go to get the x-rays done. she told me i should have just woke her up. i said yeah, i start treating you like a child and i'm sure i'll have a big surprise waiting for me in your will. thanks for taking care of me all those years, but i'm leaving you nothing. she laughed but never indicated that wouldn't happen. so yeah. hopefully i can go tomorrow.

the grocery store wasn't too bad today. i had this black woman walk past me near the produce that smelled like paradise. i watched her out of the corner of my eye. of course, she was there with what i'm guessing is her husband or weightlifter boyfriend. prices keep going up. thankfully, i'm good at math. i got everything on the list today for a little over $100. of course, i would have felt better about that if it wasn't fucking 90 degrees when i walked out of the store. the "experts" say fall will get here before too long. i'm calling bullshit. we only have two seasons anymore. hot and cold.

Young Sheldon was good last night.

The Unicorn was pretty funny last night.

Perfect Harmony was really good last night.

Mr Inbetween was hilarious last night.

the New York Rangers won last night over the Flyers, 2-1 in a shootout. that's two wins in a row now. hard to believe hockey will be starting their regular season soon.

i did watch a good portion of the NFL game last night. that was a game the Eagles pretty much had to win.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Murder in the Bayou, Real Time with Bill Maher, Room 104 and WWE Smackdown's Greatest Hits.

the New York Yankees will start their final series of the regular season tonight in Texas against the Rangers. i think it's also the last baseball games to be played in that stadium. talk about having money to burn. the stadium the Rangers currently play in is only 26 years old.

i will probably be on here tomorrow either in the morning or early afternoon. Ohio State doesn't play until Saturday night.

and i'm hoping someone wakes up at a decent time tomorrow so i can go get some x-rays done.

i hope everyone has an amazing weekend. it's supposed to be hotter than shit here. exactly how i want the final weekend of September to be.

until tomorrow kids...

a gloomy day, in more ways than one...

first off, i wanted to give a shout out to the muse. i know you haven't had the best day and these are the moments where i love our friendship more than anything. if you need anything beautiful, please let me know.

mom's doctor's appointment went well today. she needed to get some blood work done for her liver afterwards. i told her we should just get that done now rather than wait. 20 minutes later, we were out of the place. i think that's all of her appointments for this week, unless she decides she wants to get her hair done this weekend.

the New York Yankees lost last night 8-7. but, they won this afternoon down in Tampa 12-1. they took 3 out of 4 in the series and now go on to Boston for the final series of the regular season. the magic number to clinch home field in the wild card game is 1.

the New York Rangers lost last night at home to the Islanders, 4-3 in OT. i didn't watch any of the game. the Rangers play tonight in Philadelphia. this is their last preseason game.

the season finale of Big Brother went pretty much how i thought it would last night. Kaycee won the final HOH and took Tyler to the finals with her. Kaycee won the jury vote 5-4. Tyler won America's favorite player. 3 showmances were talked about and one engagement happened. this was easily one of the most memorable seasons of Big Brother in years.

Total Divas was pretty good last night.

American Horror Story was a holy fuck ride last night. i went from being shocked, to being pissed to being really, really happy at the end.

Mr. Mercedes was an excellent mind fuck last night.

Lucha Underground was really good last night.

NXT was really good last night.

205 Live was good last night.

the Mae Young Classic was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon.

i will probably watch some of the NFL game tonight between the Vikings and Rams. it will be yet another game where i wish for both teams to lose.

i did listen to episode 205 of Notsam Wrestling today. you can find that by going here:

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get back from the grocery store.

it has been incredibly gloomy here all damn day. this is good writing weather, especially for an asshole like me. i might bust out a poem or two late tonight, if the mood strikes.

of course, as is life, everything is subject to change.

that's all for me kids. best of luck to anyone betting tonight.

wait, there's cheating in college basketball?????

anyone who is shocked by the "huge" scandal going on with college basketball the last few days has been living under a damn rock. this shit has been going on for as long as i have been alive. it's only now that the money totals have reached the 6 figure level, so the feds are fucking interested.

the New York Yankees won last night 6-1. they have now clinched home field for the wild card game. Boston lost again last night, so the Yankees are just 3 games out in the division race. i don't think Boston will collapse, but it's certainly not impossible.

the New York Rangers lost 4-3 in OT last night at Philadelphia. i'm definitely ready for the regular season to start.

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was good last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.

The Voice was pretty good last night.

The Vietnam War was very sad last night. that was the first time i had actually heard the audio from Kent State. that brought tears. it was very interesting to see the number of veterans that were back from the war that said that's enough after what happened at Kent State. plus, it was good to see racism doesn't take any time off for a war. i believe tonight is going to be about something that i haven't heard anyone really talk about... what happened in Vietnam after the US troops left.

i went right from watching that into watching American Horror Story last night. i thought it was probably the best portrayal of why people voted for Trump... some people just have a need for fucking chaos.

Sunday coffee and other drinking shenanigans...

i suppose it was around 2 in the morning that i decided i should just go to sleep. if the DVR has done one thing for me, it has given me at least more consistent sleep. not better or longer, but at least i'm now getting 4 or 5 hours at a time. the whole sleeping for 2 and then trying to fall back to sleep and get another 2 was certainly getting old. let alone how old it was making me. now i only feel like i'm 70 instead of 85.

yesterday was a day of victory beers. rare i can have one of those anymore.

Ohio State beat Western Michigan yesterday 38-12. the offense looked better but still left too many points out on the field. at least three would be touchdowns were under thrown. and they still didn't run the ball enough in my eyes. the defense gave up a ton of yards but did a great job limiting the damage. the special teams played really good. Big Ten play starts next week. they better fine tune everything once again.

the New York Yankees i guess are saving the offense for the playoffs. they got some really good pitching yesterday and just enough offense to beat the White Sox 2-1. they go for the series win this afternoon. the magic number to clinch a payoff spot is now 4.

i watched a good portion of the Global Citizen Festival yesterday. MSNBC was killing me with all the fucking commercials. nothing like the hypocrisy of trying to make the world a better place while still being a slave to capitalism. then the fuckers only showed bits and pieces of the Pearl Jam performance as of course, they had to run commercials. thankfully, i found the broadcast on YouTube and got to see everything i missed. the performances were great by the way. Eddie Vedder and Beyonce doing "Redemption Song" and Beyonce and Ed Sheeran doing "Drunk in Love" were my top highlights. oh, and watching Bill Nye geek out to Pearl Jam covering "Rockin' in the Free World"

ROH was excellent last night. anytime an episode starts off with Matt Sydal vs. Kushida and finishes off with Nakamura vs. Adam Cole, you have yourself a damn near perfect episode of wrestling.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

i made some changes to my fantasy football rosters this morning. i guess i'll know by Monday night if i made the right choices or not.

the New Orleans Saints play at Carolina today without Drew Brees. i think they might keep it closer than people think, but i don't have much hope of them winning.

the New York Rangers beat the Devils last night 4-3. they scored 2 third period goals to win. they lost the exhibition 3 on 3 OT mostly because they took a penalty. 3 on 3 will definitely be crazy to watch this season. the team made some cuts after the game that kind of shocked me. but, i think the guys i wanted to get a longer look will probably be up mid-season anyway.

on the DVR tonight will be Last Week Tonight, The Strain, Ray Donovan, Masters of Sex and the VICE Special Report: Fixing The System.

i'm not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. with mom being away, i have plenty of shit i want to get done. i need to go to the bank to made a deposit. i have a tree to cut down. i'm sure i'll have dishes to do, toilets to clean, carpet to vacuum and i don't want to be the asshole who waits until right before she comes home to do it. of course, that's probably what i'll end up doing. i do know i want to start cranking out the poetry submissions tomorrow and since i'll be going out to the bank, i might as well put the post office on the list. so if i'm a good boy and get my ass in gear in the morning, i'll be on here in the afternoon. but no promises.

i hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday. other than the rain and my bone spurs fucking with me, mine wasn't bad. enjoy your Sunday. may whatever ritual you have for the day agree with you.

the weekend

i damn well know one of these days i'm simply going to burn out. i'm 38 and still think i can function well enough on just 3 hours of sleep. but, until that day comes, fuck it...

Manchester United won today 2-1. goals from Rooney and RVP. sadly, the bad Wayne Rooney showed up again and got a needless red card in the 59th minute. i'm proud of the boys for hanging on and winning a game they could have easily folded and lost. but, they will now be without their captain for the next 3 games. i guess Juan Mata goes back in the starting lineup. of course, if he doesn't, that should tell him exactly what the manager thinks of him. until then, i'm going to enjoy this victory beer.

the Yankees won last night 3-2. Jeter didn't play and both teams basically played minor leaguers for the most part. i believe the plan is for Jeter to DH today and tomorrow.

Ohio State plays this evening against Cincinnati. this has trap game written all over it. i'm pretty sure my buddy from high school is coming over to watch it. that should be interesting.

The Knick last night was brutal and excellent. the graphic violence last night was the brutal part. i believe some people forget just how racist the north was in parts around 1900. and i'm sure someone just read that and muttered still is. the ending was interesting. i would have liked some more nudity, but i'm a pig like that.

i had a long conversation with the muse last night. we talked each other to sleep basically. i'm amused that she's now taking an interest in my writing after i got a poem about her published. she didn't much care about that when it was happening all the time in 2012. anyways, i do hope she is feeling better today.

on tap for tonight will be some college football, a new episode of ROH, and the season premiere of Saturday Night Live. hopefully all of them are worth me staying awake for.

the cats and birds are fed. i have a ton of dishes to do. might as well get them done before the day gets away from me.

i do hope everyone has a glorious weekend. for my European friends, may your football team be victorious and may you get drunk in the process. for my American friends, may your alma mater do you proud or just enjoy your tailgate responsibly.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
