i know most of you are celebrating or pretending to know what Cinco de Mayo is. for me, May 5th as of 9 years ago became the day we put my piece of shit father in the ground. as you can see, time heals all wounds has always been bullshit.
the New York Yankees won yesterday at home against Detroit, 5-3. hopefully, they will get the sweep today.
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:
WWE Backlash was excellent yesterday.
our NBC feed went out last night about 35 minutes into Saturday Night Live. so, i had to watch the clips on YouTube last night. i was hoping for a better show as i do love Dua Lipa.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be A Gentleman in Moscow, The Sympathizer, The Jinx Part 2 and Last Week Tonight.
the New York Rangers start their series today at home against Carolina.
i'm sure i will watch some of the Game 7's today in the NBA and NHL playoffs.
i will probably be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays.
i hope your Saturday was great. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

so, right as i was finishing up the blog yesterday, mom fell again. i told her that i was going to do her laundry after i got my blog done. being the stubborn person she is, she tried to get her clothes together and into where we have our washer and dryer. and of course, she knelt down to pick up something up and down she went. i was able to help her better this time, mostly because she did it in her bedroom and not her bathroom. i told her it wasn't wise to start a career as a stunt lady at her age. she has got some pretty nasty bruises. so now i get to end her nights by applying Aspercreme wherever it hurts. at least that shit works better than the pain pills do. fingers crossed, she has managed to not fall today. 3 times in a week is way too much for my liking.
the Yankees lost yesterday to Baltimore, 9-6. the injury bug snuck up again yesterday and the home plate umpire thought everyone was there to see him. a recipe for disaster every fucking time. they are back home tonight to start a series against the White Sox.
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:
NXT UK was pretty good last night.
the season finale of Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.
the series finale of The United States of Al was funny, although you could tell they had no clue they were going to be cancelled.
both episodes of the series finale of How We Roll were pretty good last night. with how that ended, i'm pretty sure they thought season 2 was coming as well.
Vice News Tonight had two great shows this week that showed just how fucking corrupt the Louisville, Kentucky police department is. of course, i'm pretty sure most police departments are like that.
the season finale of Atlanta was fucking amazing last night.
NJPW was good last night.
Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage, Real Time with Bill Maher, Pause with Sam Jay and George Carlin's American Dream, Part 1. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.
the New York Rangers play Game 2 tonight at Carolina. i'm really hoping the Rangers play 60 minutes tonight and win.
i did get some baseball cards while i was at Rite Aid last night. $11 for 2 boxes. there was about $30 total of worth between both of them combined. not bad.
the Yankees game just got rained out. so, they will be playing a doubleheader on Sunday now against the White Sox.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm about halfway done my with my laundry and i still have 1 load of mom's to do. and at some point tonight, i need to cook dinner and do the dishes.
mom and i had an interesting conversation last night. she believes her sudden turn in shitty health is due to that certain someone and i not getting along any more. i told mom that i was preached to my entire life that choices have consequences. and now that she made her choice, mom doesn't want her to face any consequences. if i had known that all of this, choices and consequences, was hypocritical bullshit, just imagine where i would be now. i understand that no one gives two shits about anything i have missed out on to help my stepfather or my mother as they got older in life. that certain someone has made it painfully clear, that since i don't make money and make a positive contribution to the world, i don't get to have a say or rights or anything in this world. i would like to think differently, but society reaffirms her beliefs more often than mine.
i told my mother i don't want to see her die like this. no matter what the fuck she thinks, i am trying to give her the best quality of life i can. so yeah, nothing but fun as usual going on here.
i just had a load in the dryer get done, so that's all for me kids...

it was 53 degrees when i got up this morning. so, i turned the AC off and opened up the house a bit. i love when i can do that in the summer, since it is rarely cool in Ohio to say the least.
Monday Night Raw was better last night.
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:
I'll Be Gone in the Dark last night was excellent.
yesterday at the Copa America, Uruguay and Chile finished up 1-1 and Argentina defeated Paraguay, 1-0.
at the Euro 2020 yesterday, Austria defeated Ukraine, 1-0. Netherlands defeated North Macedonia, 3-0. Belgium defeated Finland, 2-0. Denmark defeated Russia, 4-1. today, Croatia plays Scotland and England plays Czech Republic. that will mark the end of the group D games.

the Yankees start a series tonight at home against the Royals. hopefully, they will get a victory.
i'm sure i will watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight. i believe the NBA Draft lottery is tonight as well.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.
i need to go eat some lunch and get ready for the Euro 2020 games to start. after those are over, i'll do the trash here and next door.
the house next door is up for sale. i'm really hoping someone under 50 buys it. either that, or someone that isn't white. this town is dying for some fucking diversity.

the Yankees won yesterday over the Marlins, 11-4. the last game of the season is today. if the Yankees win, they will be the 5th seed in the playoffs. if they lose and the Blue Jays win, the Yankees will be the 8th seed in the playoffs and playing down in that dump in Tampa.
ROH was really good last night.

i might watch some of the NBA tonight.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm guessing in the afternoon.
i now have an account on Topps.com. i figure it's going to be easier to get cards on there than trying to get lucky at the stores. of course, with all the backlogs in shipping, i have no clue when the two boxes of cards i ordered last night are going to arrive.

mom and i decided on fish last night for dinner. she set the oven on pre-heat and came back to the living room to watch some television. about 20 minutes later, she went back into the kitchen. i was in my massage chair, icing down my back. i suddenly heard an "oh shit!" from the kitchen. i stopped the massage and started lowering the chair to go into the kitchen. i asked her what was going on and all i could hear was fire. oh fuck. i got into the kitchen and i guess the heating element on the bottom in our oven broke. that was what was burning. mom turned the oven off and that killed the fire. she put the fish back into the freezer. a new oven isn't exactly something we had planned on having to do this weekend. i told her maybe we can hold out to Memorial Day and there will be some sales. she laughed and said the ovens were on sale last weekend. she sent me to go get Taco Bell for dinner. 8 PM on a Friday night in the town i live is fucking crazy, especially at all the fast food places. i figure that's because the whole fucking town basically shuts down at 10 PM. i finally got the food after waiting 30 minutes in line. and of course, they forgot something i ordered. it never fails...
the New York Yankees were losing that night entering the 9th inning, 3-1. Tampa's closer was on the mound and he had been mostly untouched so far this season. the first pitch of the bottom of the 9th, Luke Voit hit a homer. i started to perk up in my chair. when the wild pitch ended up tying the game at 3, i was jacked. and then, the undisputed MVP of the Yankees this season came to the plate. Gio Urshela. he got the game winning hit, giving the Yankees first place in the division. Gio is only batting 100 points higher this season than his "normal" average in previous seasons. hopefully, the first place Yankees will win again this afternoon.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows:
NJPW was really good last night.
Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men was excellent last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was really good last night.

i did watch the third period of the USA defeating Denmark this morning, 7-1.
i have no clue if mom wants to get an oven this weekend or not. i guess that's why i got up early this morning, just in case.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
there wasn't any snow this morning, thankfully. we got 1.5 inches of rain overnight. no wonder i barely slept more than 4 hours. i was up in time to watch Manchester United play.
they had a HUGE game this morning against Tottenham. a loss would possibly send them 8 points behind Manchester City. thankfully, Anthony Martial made sure a loss wasn't going to happen in the 81st minute. his goal was all United needed to win 1-0. as of right now, they are only 2 points behind City. hopefully it stays that way in a few hours. another clean sheet at home. another well deserved 3 points.
the high school i went to won last night to complete a 10-0 regular season in high school football. the last time they had an undefeated season, they won the state championship. i wouldn't mind seeing Trotwood do that again.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
NJPW was excellent last night.
Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus was part 1 of the Waylon Jennings story. i laughed my ass off. i can't wait to see part 2 next week.
Real Time with Bill Maher was very good last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be The David S. Pumpkins Animated Halloween Special, SNL Presents: Halloween, ROH and Black Sabbath: The End of the End.
Ohio State has a HUGE game this afternoon at home against Penn State. if Ohio State wins today, they basically control their own destiny for the rest of the season for the playoffs.
even though my pain was killing me last night, i did get my laundry done, the toilets cleaned, my room dusted and i even vacuumed the damn house. joy.
the New York Rangers play tonight at Montreal. AV is starting the backup goalie again tonight. he believes he's the hot one at the moment. the team has 3 damn wins this season, no one is on a hot streak.
i need to get ready to go to the store to get mom's prescriptions. she said she might come along as i think they are doing a promotion for fuel points with gift cards. so, at least i'll know what i'm getting for Christmas this year.
i hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i made the mistake of not drinking before i had to help mom wash herself last night. at least if i had a good buzz on, i wouldn't have had flashbacks of washing my father's feet in church back in my youth. of course, i never verbalized any of this to my mother; she needed help and i'm trying to stay in a will...it's the curse of remembering so much of my life. if i wouldn't have been raised by wolves, i'm sure this would be a gift.
the New York Yankees got some great pitching yesterday and broke out the long ball to beat Toronto 7-0. they go for the series win today.
Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final was crazy last night. the atmosphere in Nashville was great. hopefully Game 4 is even crazier.
the US Men's National team played Venezuela to a 1-1 draw in a soccer friendly last night. if the United States would have been a little more clinical in the final 3rd, they could have won. but, apparently only the youngest guy on the team knows how to do that.
ROH was great last night. that 8 man tag team match was one for the ages.
the Champions League final was great yesterday. the first half was pretty even. the second half was a different story. Real Madrid simply outclassed Juventus in the second half to win 4-1. that means in August, Real Madrid will take on Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup. that should be interesting to say the least.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Silicon Valley, Last Week Tonight, Twin Peaks: The Return and I'm Dying Up Here.
i will be watching WWE Extreme Rules for most of the evening on WWE Network.

mom did pretty well this morning with the physical therapist. she's actually sleeping in her bed right now, something she hasn't done since she came home from the surgery.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
i woke up this morning at 6:45 to a jolt of pain. i thought it had something to do with the storms rolling through. about 30 minutes later, i thought maybe the pain was something else. when i saw the news that Chris Cornell had died, i was shocked. 52 is way too soon for that voice to be gone. and then i started hearing the news that it was suicide. i immediately thought back to my freshman year of high school when i saw Soundgarden open for Guns N' Roses. i have always thought of creativity as this dangerous weapon. just as much as you put it out in the world, it takes that much or even more away from the person with it. i think much like comedy, creativity comes from pain. the true broken souls are often these delicate beautiful creatures that give so much to the world. but, we live in a society that is totally disposable. most couldn't give two shits about delicate souls. and people wonder why this world sucks so damn much...
music has gotten me through so much in my life. it's always been the only friend that never stabbed me in the back. and being a poet, the words are just as important as the melody. and being a teenager in the Grunge era, all those songs are what my existence is built upon. to think that most of them are all gone now is rather humbling. it also brings about a reality that i certainly know exists. the hard part of being honest with yourself is knowing one day you'll be a tragedy just like them. it doesn't exactly make for a great life, but it's great for the poems.
thank you Chris for all the wonderful music over the years. thanks for sharing that voice that will live forever. may your family find comfort and may you rest in peace. say hello to everyone for me.
as you might imagine, this day has been really shitty for me. between arthritis and depression, i have no clue where this resolve to not be a junkie has come from. i'm writing this a little earlier than usual as i know i will HAVE to write later today.
NXT was really good last night. i think the Takeover: Chicago event this Saturday is going to be amazing.
the New York Yankees tried to piss away a win last night, but ultimately won 11-7. they will go for the sweep later tonight.
enjoy some music:

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
i wasn't exactly upset last night that they cut the Yankees game short because of rain. the way the game was going, they had absolutely no chance of coming back. the team has completely hit a horrific stretch. and i'm not exactly sure when it will turn around for them. they play Cleveland tonight. thank god i have other viewing options.
i am looking forward to Monday Night Raw tonight. just the promise of some new talent being introduced has my mouth watering. plus, CM Punk will be back soon. that's always something to look forward to. while on the pro wrestling tip, a quick thought about Ring Of Honor over the weekend. every time i watch ACH wrestle, the more i enjoy it. i really hope this kid keeps progressing into a star one day.
i was a little stunned with team USA's victory over Germany yesterday. while i know it wasn't all the German stars playing, a team that struggles to score goals scored 4 on a team whose reserves are better than 90% of our players. i really hope this bodes well for the World Cup qualifiers coming up. highlights from the match are below:
i saw a bluebird eating some sunflower seeds yesterday on the farm for the first time since i have lived here. it immediately made me think of the Bukowski poem...
i did watch the end of the NASCAR race yesterday. Juan Pablo Montoya is my favorite driver of all-time. to see him get passed on the last few laps by another of my favorite drivers, Tony Stewart, was bittersweet to say the least. i'd love for JPM to win on an oval just once so some of the idiots could actually understand how great of a driver he really is. one of these days, it's going to happen.
a big game 7 tonight between the Heat and Pacers. i don't plan on watching much of it unless it's really close near the end or LeBron is having one of those 'holy shit' games.
The Voice is back on tonight. it's down to crunch time now. i'm planning on paying a little closer attention tonight to see who i think will win it all now that my first choice was eliminated last week.
i did go through some poems this morning and have come up with 9 i'll be sending out later this week. hopefully, i make some better choices than i have been making in the past few weeks. although, getting the 3 accepted at Zygote in My Coffee really freshened my outlook, at least for a little while.
that's pretty much all for today. i've got some lunch to get and a long shower to take to hopefully loosen up this back some. i can't imagine why i'm single... always bitching about something in my life. if it's not the back, it's the scar tissue all down the left side of my lower body. of course, knowing it's going to rain 18 hours before it does helps a little. but, since the thought of actually selling off the farm is being tossed around with a little more probability than i was initially expecting, i'm not sure how much good my rain detection is going to do me in the future if i'm living in a condo.
more on that in the coming weeks i imagine.
