now, i think i do a pretty decent job fighting my depression, battling through. but, the last few days, maybe it is the heat or maybe it is my lingering thoughts on mortality, the depression has been sinking deeper and deeper into me. and as much as i can drink away the pain or clear my head with a cold shower, nothing really works. not even a beautiful woman telling me how good i look lifts my spirits. good times.
i did vacuum the house last night. of course, after i did that mom decided she wanted to open the box her new light was in and to put it together. i looked at all the Styrofoam and cardboard on what i just vacuumed. i just started to laugh. honestly, why the fuck do i even bother to do this shit anymore? of course, i ended up putting the light together. as much as she wants to think she can still do things, the more she has to realize that she can't.
Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final went to Las Vegas last night. they beat Florida, 5-2. Game 2 is Monday night.
the New York Yankees won last night at the Dodgers, 6-3. they go for the series win tonight on ESPN.
i did watch some of the MLS last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Idol, Vice and Ghosts of Beirut.
Game 2 of the NBA Finals is tonight. i'm sure i will watch plenty of that.
i should be on here tomorrow in the morning before mom has to go to physical therapy.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

mom had me go out to get some things today (mostly prescriptions that were ready). i found some things at Meijer at a decent price. and then i went to Kroger to get everything else on the list. and there i was standing in line for over 20 minutes, realizing it was approaching 4 in the afternoon again and i still haven't had lunch. good times.
i spent last night drowning in a depression. i find myself talking to strangers more and more these days, really just hoping to find a fucking genuine connection, whatever the fuck that is anymore. so, i met this one last night and we talked for hours and it was really cool until she sent me a pic and i did a google search and it wasn't really her. i have been online long enough to know all the tricks of the scam artists. and when ANY red flags go off in my mind, everything gets deleted. i'm too old for this shit. all last night did was reaffirm my belief that i will die alone some day.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
NXT UK was very good last night.
The United States of Al was good last night.
Clarice was excellent last night.
Dark Side of the Ring was about the horrific back story on Grizzly Smith. i knew the story already, my mother had no clue. but, she quickly understood why Jake the Snake Roberts is how he is now.
Dark Side of Football last night was about all the injuries that football players get and play with.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:
the Yankees lost yesterday to Tampa, 9-2. the umpires were absolutely awful yesterday. the Yankees start a series tonight with the Red Sox. oh joy.
the USMNT defeated Honduras last night, 1-0. that sets up a match against Mexico on Sunday night in the finals of the Concacaf Nations League.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW, Pause with Sam Jay and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.
i have no clue what i'm making for dinner tonight.
i will be on here tomorrow after the USA plays Canada in the first semifinal of the Hockey Worlds tomorrow morning. i think they play at 7 in the morning. so, i'm either going to be in a good mood and tired or pissed off and wide awake with anger. good times.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

i made the mistake of not drinking before i had to help mom wash herself last night. at least if i had a good buzz on, i wouldn't have had flashbacks of washing my father's feet in church back in my youth. of course, i never verbalized any of this to my mother; she needed help and i'm trying to stay in a will...it's the curse of remembering so much of my life. if i wouldn't have been raised by wolves, i'm sure this would be a gift.
the New York Yankees got some great pitching yesterday and broke out the long ball to beat Toronto 7-0. they go for the series win today.
Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final was crazy last night. the atmosphere in Nashville was great. hopefully Game 4 is even crazier.
the US Men's National team played Venezuela to a 1-1 draw in a soccer friendly last night. if the United States would have been a little more clinical in the final 3rd, they could have won. but, apparently only the youngest guy on the team knows how to do that.
ROH was great last night. that 8 man tag team match was one for the ages.
the Champions League final was great yesterday. the first half was pretty even. the second half was a different story. Real Madrid simply outclassed Juventus in the second half to win 4-1. that means in August, Real Madrid will take on Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup. that should be interesting to say the least.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Silicon Valley, Last Week Tonight, Twin Peaks: The Return and I'm Dying Up Here.
i will be watching WWE Extreme Rules for most of the evening on WWE Network.
for a long time last night i was watching the BBC and what was going on in London. i would break out a #PrayforLondon but who the fuck thinks prayer actually fucking works. i'm more interested in the rush to get the news out there without giving two shits whether it's accurate or not.
mom did pretty well this morning with the physical therapist. she's actually sleeping in her bed right now, something she hasn't done since she came home from the surgery.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

when i got the news that Muhammad Ali had died, i was not shocked. it was more amazement that he lasted as long as he did. i'm not old enough to have seen his best boxing in person but i did go back and watch all the big time fights he had while Mike Tyson was the champ. i completely understood why everyone in the generations before me laughed anytime Tyson got mentioned as the greatest of all-time. i think what taught me the most about Ali was the 1996 Olympics. he didn't have to say a word. all he had to do was appear. you know you have accomplished something in life when you don't have to say a damn word and people bow to your greatness. Parkinson's is a horrible disease. hopefully his death will spark a much needed breakthrough in curing the damn thing. rest in peace Champ, you have more than earned that.
NJPW was excellent last night. i really enjoyed all of the matches.
VICE was great last night. yet another episode i wish everyone in this country would get the chance to watch.
team USA lost 2-0 to Colombia last night in the start of the Copa America tournament. i laughed when i heard that Jurgen said after the game that the USA was even with them for the entire game. sure, we had the ball more and had more shots (they had more on goal) but where it counted, you know, in scoring, we didn't come close. the play in the final third was horrific. and once again, the 2 players that should be starting, Pulisic and Nagbe didn't come on until the 66th minute. maybe one day, he'll learn.
the New York Yankees pissed away a lead last night and ended up losing 6-5. i'm sure they will invent a new way to grab defeat out of the jaws of victory tonight.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Austin City Limits.
i figure i'll be in and out of the Copa America matches today. i am looking forward to watching Brazil play tonight against Ecuador.
game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i'll probably check out some of that as it will be in San Jose.
it's supposed to rain on and off all weekend here. so the symphony of lawnmowers will start on Monday i guess.
mom wanted to wait to do the grocery shopping today. i asked what time during the rain did she want to do it. so we went last night. we didn't have much to get, so we went to the local grocery store in town. it amazes me how white this town is at times. it's fucking sad to be quite honest.
that's all for me kids. i hope your Saturday is a great one. call if you need bail money.

well, i guess we did pretty good at the auction yesterday. mom called me and said we made around $5,000. i thought that was pretty good for all the junk that was there. i have no clue how much my truck went for. hopefully it's enough for me to make a nice big deposit at the bank soon.
my trip into humanity yesterday was sadly uneventful. i did get a good laugh at the grocery store. this woman bought 3 pies. no big deal. i then saw her in the parking lot getting into a catering van. either she's a shitty baker or she's fooling clients and charging them double. i'm sure there's a poem there somewhere.
speaking of that, i heard back from Stephanie at Eye to the Telescope. she enjoyed reading my work, but... and that's usually where i just stop reading. nothing good ever comes after but. needless to say, i have 5 poems back on the unpublished file. i was really hoping for this one as this place actually pays. what a concept.
a quick music break before we get to a ton of pro wrestling:
NXT was pretty damn good, as usual. the main event was easily the best part of the show:
ROH was the same episode from the weekend. if that is how the Wednesday show is going to be, at least i know i don't have to sweat it if i happen to miss the show on the weekend now.
TNA was pretty good. i haven't really watched much for the last few years, but at least last night was worth my time. i haven't always been able to say that:
Lucha Underground won the night for me. 3 very entertaining matches that really made the hour fly by. enjoy some highlights:
another music break to clean your pallet:
i got some good FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll provide some links below in the music section. check them out.
i greatly enjoyed the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today with Stone Cold Steve Austin. if you were a fan of the Attitude era, it's a very good listen.
check it out on notsam.com, iTunes, Stitcher, or the right hand side of this blog.
Value City Furniture came and got the chair mom didn't want today. the guy picking it up looked a little stunned when i told him he was the one that forgot to load it on the truck in the first place. i tell ya, this full beard scares the shit out of some people.
mom will be home later tonight. hopefully she has a good drive home from Columbus.
i did happen to watch Brew Dogs last night. the season finale was excellent. i have always wanted to go to Cabo and never come back. god damn fair skin.
the Yankees got some great pitching from Tanaka yesterday, making his first start since April. they broke out the long ball and won 3-1. i'm sure the sweep made the flight back to New York a better one. they are off tonight and start a series at home with the Angels tomorrow.
i got some Coke at the store yesterday and had some rum and cokes instead of my victory beers. i figured i need to switch it up every now and then.
on the DVR tonight will be The Comedians. i will probably watch some of the NBA Finals that start tonight. most likely, i will stick to my ritual of only watching the last 5 minutes of the game.
a little comedy before i bid you adieu:
