happy day we put that fucker in the ground day...

i know most of you are celebrating or pretending to know what Cinco de Mayo is. for me, May 5th as of 9 years ago became the day we put my piece of shit father in the ground. as you can see, time heals all wounds has always been bullshit.

the New York Yankees won yesterday at home against Detroit, 5-3. hopefully, they will get the sweep today.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

WWE Backlash was excellent yesterday.

our NBC feed went out last night about 35 minutes into Saturday Night Live. so, i had to watch the clips on YouTube last night. i was hoping for a better show as i do love Dua Lipa.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be A Gentleman in Moscow, The Sympathizer, The Jinx Part 2 and Last Week Tonight.

the New York Rangers start their series today at home against Carolina.

i'm sure i will watch some of the Game 7's today in the NBA and NHL playoffs.

i will probably be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays.

i hope your Saturday was great. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

may the fourth be with you

so, i wrote another 3 poems last night. that makes 17 in the last 5 days. these were some of my darker or darkest poems as i was not in a good headspace last night. try thinking of death for nearly 17 hours and see how good you feel while trying to write. but, i did get some decent sleep after that. so, away we go.

the Yankees won last night at home against Detroit, 2-1. nothing quite like a bottom of the ninth comeback. hopefully, they will win again today.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was good last night.

Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live.

i will be watching WWE Backlash this afternoon. given that it is in France, the crowd should be amazing.

i also will be watching the Kentucky Derby today.

i'm sure i will watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs today as well.

i should be on here tomorrow in the morning, most likely.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

when the white blood cells stop working...

there used to be a time in my life where a cough would be gone in a few days. i have reached that age now that all the tricks that worked in my youth don't anymore. i had to sleep in my chair last night. i think at best i slept a hour or so at a time. i'm trying to avoid the shit i know that works for me because of my liver. so, if i have another disjointed night of sleep, i'll be calling the doctor tomorrow. i really could use a tall drink of something strong right now.

WWE Backlash was slightly better than awful last night. the show started off good with a great match between The Miz and Seth Rollins. it was downhill after that. and that shouldn't be the case with wrestlers like AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, etc. still to come. the fact that you could see people walking out of the arena during the main event between Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns should be a wake up call to Vince. of course, it won't be.

the New York Yankees are starting to remind me of those great Yankees team from the late 90's. they got an amazing spot start from Domingo German yesterday (6 no hit innings). the bullpen shit the bed and the Yankees were losing 4-0. that was about the time the storms hit here and knocked out the satellite feed. the Yankees came right back and scored 3 in the bottom of the 8th to make it 4-3. the Yankees then tied it in the 9th and won the game on a 3 run walk off home run from Gleyber Torres. they won the game 7-4. that's a sweep of the Indians and they finished this daunting 18 games in 18 days with a 16-2 record. they start a series tomorrow night against the Red Sox. they are 1 game behind Boston in the AL East.

here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs from yesterday:

Billions was excellent last night. maybe the best episode they have ever done.

I'm Dying Up Here was pretty funny last night.

Westworld was amazing last night.

Silicon Valley was pretty good last night.

Barry was excellent last night. the season finale next week should be interesting.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as usual.

Drop the Mic was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i'll probably watch some of the NHL and NBA playoffs tonight as well.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade the other day. below are the links:
Shakey Graves - Can't Wake Up Sampler
10,000 Maniacs - For Crying Out Loud

El Clasico didn't disappoint yesterday. a 2-2 draw between Barcelona and Real Madrid was probably the right outcome for the game.

that's all for me kids. i hope everyone had a great weekend.

it could always be worse i suppose

well, last night the cough turned into congestion. lovely. i'm doing my best to try to stay away from mom, as the last thing i want to do is get her sick. i got some cough syrup and cough drops yesterday at the store. i get the feeling i'll be making an appointment with the doctor in a few days. joy.

the New York Yankees took advantage of some Cleveland errors yesterday to win 5-2. that's their 14th win in their last 15 games. they haven't done that since 1998. the Yankees will go for the sweep this afternoon.

ROH was really good last night.

Saturday Night Live was fucking great last night.

here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs last night:

i'll be watching WWE Backlash for most of the evening on WWE Network.

i'll probably watch some of the NHL and NBA playoffs as well today.

i did watch the Kentucky Derby yesterday. the track looked horrible, so i tried to play it safe with the 3 horses i picked. i did pick the favorite, which ended up winning the race. Justify looks like a horse that could win the Triple Crown. my other picks finished 9th and dead last. joy.

i do plan on watching El Clasico today. i try to never miss a match between Real Madrid vs. Barcelona.

that's all for me today kids. i hope your Saturday was great. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

as chaos draws near...

i'm doing this a little early today as once i get a few things done and eat dinner, i'm off to bed. i have to have mom to the hospital by 5:30 in the morning tomorrow and i know i'm going to be an anxious fuck for the rest of the day until i know everything went as expected. good times.

a little poetry news to pass on. i heard back from Profane on my poetry submission from last week. they decided to pass. as luck would have it, a recent connection on LinkedIn asked me to send him some poems. so, i took my 3 favorite from those 5 rejected ones and sent them to October Hill Magazine. when i hear back from Richard, i'll pass on the verdict.

the New York Yankees got just enough pitching and offense yesterday, plus an incredible catch from Aaron Judge to defeat Tampa 3-2. they start a series back at home tonight against Kansas City.

WWE Backlash was pretty good to start off with last night. i can never get enough of Shinsuke Nakamura. plus, the tag title match was fucking great. i liked Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles up until the ending. and i had a feeling they were going to have Jinder Mahal win the WWE title from Randy Orton, especially given that the WWE Network is now available in India. sure enough... the shocked looks on the faces in the crowd made me howl with laughter.

Veep was fucking hilarious, as usual last night.

Silicon Valley was great last night.

Last Week Tonight was spectacular, as usual.

Twin Peaks: The Return was a great mind fuck, 25 years later. i didn't really get into the show much in the early 90's, but now being much more of a fan of David Lynch, i really enjoyed parts 1 & 2 last night. i certainly can't wait for the rest.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special, Gotham and Monday Night Raw.

i did watch Sweden defeat Canada yesterday in a shootout to win the 2017 World Championship. congrats to The King on an amazing gold medal game.

in a way, i suppose Boston beating Cleveland last night is the right kind of wake up call the Cavs needed. that loss should allow them to reset everything and be humble once again.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. if i am at all, it will be late in the evening. i'm not planning on spending the night at the hospital, god knows my back would be killing me if i even tried, but i have no clue how mom's surgery is going to go. plus, she doesn't do too well while on drugs, so i know i kind of have to be there until she comes out of the haze. i tell her all the time, this is what she gets for not doing any drugs as a teenager. each time i have been put under, i've enjoyed the fuck out of it.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

until we meet again...

odds and ends and vomit and god knows what else...

it's always odd sitting in my room and thinking i'm hearing something. i suppose it's one part of being crazy that i tend to enjoy; sort of like my imagination having fun. but, today was not one of those moments. i was pretty sure i heard my mother throwing up in her room while i was watching Manchester united play. i went to check it out and sure enough. i want to think it's just the nerves with her hip replacement coming up in less than 48 hours. she seems to be ok as of right now, but i'm not going to seal up the trash bag just yet.

Manchester United did play a good number of kids today against Crystal Palace. it is always good to see that. it's even better when they help lead the team to a victory. it also meant they were able to rest a good number of players that will be playing in the Europa League final.

the New York Yankees got beat yesterday 9-5. they need some much better pitching today if they are going to avoid getting swept. i'm not holding my breath.

Saturday Night Live was spectacular last night. for the first time in a month, my local NBC station didn't fuck up the broadcast. i am very happy for that as the season finale was great.

NXT Takeover:Chicago was brilliant last night. the UK Championship match between Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne is a strong candidate for Match of the Year in all of professional wrestling. the tag team title match was the main event, which was great. Authors of Pain and #DIY put on a match for the ages. i think it was the first time i have seen a ladder actually break in half during a ladder match. and then the ending of the show with Tommaso Ciampa turning on Johnny Gargano. holy fuck, what a brutal beating. i'm hoping that Tommaso isn't hurt too bad as a feud between the Psycho Killer and Johnny Wrestling would be perfect for the summer. overall, just an incredible show.

ROH was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Silicon Valley, Veep, Last Week Tonight and Twin Peaks: The Return.

i'll be watching WWE Backlash for most of the evening. i'm hoping the guys know how good they will have to be tonight to be as good as the NXT show was last night. i figure Nakamura vs. Ziggler and Owens vs. Styles will be the matches of the night.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i get the feeling that as soon as we start doing all the things mom has to do for surgery this evening (changing the bed, special soap, etc.) the whirlwind will begin.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.
