the rain started yesterday when i went to Kroger to pick up some prescriptions. it is now close to noon the next day and it hasn't stopped. fun times.
here are your two videos for this day of National Poetry Month:
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole

i guess i knew in the back of my mind there was always the chance the Eagles could blow out the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. i just never expected it to happen. in hindsight, i probably should have. the Eagles whipped the shit out of the Chiefs last night, 40-22. considering it was 34-0 at one point, the game was effectively over by halftime. i won 2 bets out of the 20 or so i placed for the game. thank god the largest bet i made was only $5. the halftime show was great. i think it showed just how amazing Kendrick Lamar is. the commercials were pretty good as well.
it has been hot as hell here the last few days. that is supposed to change today, which of course means, nothing but thunderstorms. joy.
the Yankees won last night at home against the Cardinals, 6-3. hopefully, they will win again this afternoon.
i had all these plans today. i was having a good morning and was getting ready to go to the post office. i got an ice pack as i wanted to ice my back before i went. and then the plan was to come home and start my laundry. well, apparently i must have got the ice on the right spot as i fell asleep and woke up 4 hours later. holy shit. i saw the time and was stunned. of course, i was sweating, so i looked to see what the temperature was in the house. 77. oh fuck. i shut all the windows and doors and turned the air on. at least my back felt better.
so yeah, i guess tomorrow will be my busy day.
the Yankees won yesterday against the Rangers, 8-7. they start a series tonight on the road at the White Sox. these are games the Yankees have to win. the White Sox fucking suck this year.
i didn't get to sleep until 5 AM this morning. so, when i got up around 10:45 AM, i was slightly shocked. i don't think i tossed and turned at all while sleeping. amazingly, my back didn't feel like shit either. amazing what a good night of wrestling will do for me.
WWE SummerSlam last night was fucking bonkers. i told my mother, if the first match goes the way i expect, this show is going to have a bit of everything. so, when Dirty Dom turned and helped Liv Morgan and they kissed after screwing Rhea Ripley, i knew this show was going to be fucking crazy. to see how it started to having Roman Reigns come back to the babyface pop that WWE has wanted him to get for over a decade now, just pure fucking perfection. hats off to HHH for making the show feel like it was a mini WrestleMania. just fucking great.
i was hoping to have this done already, but, i got a couple extra hours of sleep this morning. i know i need that more than the time to finish the blog.
so, the Yankees were one strike away from winning last night. and you know if i start the sentence like that, what is coming next... their closer pissed that away and since the Yankees absolutely suck in extra innings. they managed to turn a 3-1 near victory into a 5-3 loss to the Red Sox. fuck me.
i actually slept for more than 4 hours in my bed last night. i guess the muscle relaxers are working.
here are your highlights from Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final.
so, i wrote another 3 poems last night. that makes 17 in the last 5 days. these were some of my darker or darkest poems as i was not in a good headspace last night. try thinking of death for nearly 17 hours and see how good you feel while trying to write. but, i did get some decent sleep after that. so, away we go.
the Yankees won last night at home against Detroit, 2-1. nothing quite like a bottom of the ninth comeback. hopefully, they will win again today.
i'm not sure who first told me about the kiss theory. but, i know damn well, it is a theory i fucking live by. now, if you aren't familiar with it, the kiss theory is keep it simple stupid. it is amazing at times, but it fucking works. and i absolutely love when people try to complicate shit and it always becomes the simple shit always works. life, sports, whatever...
that brings me to the Dayton Flyers game last night at Davidson. Dayton won the game 72-59. and honestly, i think they should have won by more. they will play UMass on Sunday.
my mother asked me last night if i was happy. the first thing that came out of my mouth was about as much as i am allowed. this of course started a discussion that i didn't feel like having in the middle of a college football game. given my upbringing and all the shit that came with that, happiness is a relative term. i have ever truly been happy? probably not. do i believe happiness exists? i'm sure it does. she then asked why i'm not happy. and i basically told her, any time i got to a point where i should be happy, something or someone made damn sure to bring me back down. and my most obvious example of this was the first time i ever got paid for something i wrote. the first thing my mother asked me was if i had to use my real name? that infuriated me and still does to this very day. she wasn't happy or proud or anything like that, she was more concerned on what could possibly happen to her professional career if someone connected the dots. and people wonder why i'm fucked in the head. good times.
Ohio State whipped Western Kentucky yesterday, 63-10. that's more like it. they play at Notre Dame next week.
so, it looks like it is going to be nearly 30 degrees warmer here in a couple of days. i know damn well all of this ice and snow will be melted by then. i swear, the weather in Ohio is meant to make sure everyone just stays sick. the guy that does our driveway did a pretty good job yesterday. and he charged mom less than he said he was going to, which was nice as well. mom called more pills in to Kroger, so i'm waiting to make sure all those are done before i go out and get them. hell, i might as well just wait until i do the grocery shopping tomorrow.
i did watch that Ric Flair documentary on Peacock last night. it was very good.
i slept a little later than i wanted to this morning. i missed most of the first half of the Manchester United game. more on that later.
i did get most of what i was looking for yesterday at Menards. i've changed all the birdfeeders here to ones containing suet. so far, it seems like the birds have found the new ones i put up yesterday.
the Yankees won last night over the A's, 3-2. Aaron Judge hit his 49th home run of the season last night. that 3 run shot gave the Yankees all the runs they needed. hopefully, they will win again tonight.
