 i watched a little bit of the Denver Nuggets first summer league game last night. i wanted to see DaRon Holmes II first game. i saw him a little bit in what i watched. then, i turned back to the game later, and i heard they had to help him to the back. and then i saw a message from one of the NBA guys i really trust and i was devastated. i guess he tore his fucking Achilles last night. ++going to miss the entire season now. as i told my mother this morning, at least he did this after he signed his NBA contract. i hope he conquers his rehab and comes back better than ever.

the Yankees won last night in Baltimore, 4-1. hopefully, they will do that again today.

the day after...

 so, i didn't have a great July 4th. the rain really fucked with my arthritis. hell, i think it was the first July 4th in forever where i didn't watch any fireworks. but, i did write one poem. i did watch some sports. and the weed gummies came today, so maybe shit will be changing soon.

the Yankees lost yesterday at home to the Reds, 8-4. the Yankees are playing like absolute shit right now. just in time to start a series at home against Boston. great.

now, i have watched a ton of soccer since i was last on here. let me start off with the Euro 2024... Spain defeated Germany today, 2-1 in extra time. France defeated Portugal on penalty kicks, 5-3. yesterday in the Copa America, Argentina defeated Ecuador in penalty kicks, 4-2. tonight, Venezuela takes on Canada.

i had to go to Kroger today to get what i forgot on Wednesday. it actually went much better than my usual Friday grocery shopping trips. had something that has never happened to me before while i was there. i was coming out of the bakery section and i saw this older black lady that looked like she was confused. so, i just came up along side her and she asked if i knew where the relish was? i said i believe it is in aisle 6. she thanked me for my time and i said no problem. i started to walk away and she said, even if you are wrong, thanks again for your time. i gave her a wave and thought, no one on earth has ever said that to me once. so, there's my good deed as i know the relish is in aisle 6. i hope she found what she was looking for.

rain is on the way...

 so, at about 6 last night, i called Kroger to see what was up with the Rybelsus. they told me that they are still awaiting authorization to fill the prescription. i asked why did it say it was being worked on the website then? they said that is just customary, not the actual event. joy. so, i sent a message to the doctor's office and now i'm right back in the waiting game. and people wonder why people hate the healthcare system in this country. i'm sure if i was rich, none of this would be happening. these are the days where i want to get just enough money to have my own island, so i have someplace to die in peace.

i got over 5 hours of sleep last night. the joy of alcohol and muscle relaxers. now, i didn't take them together, i'm not in my 20's anymore. i'm just happy the pinched nerve is calm enough now i can sleep in my bed for more than 2 hours.

the New York Yankees finally had their offense wake up last night at they destroyed Toronto, 16-5. hopefully, they will win again this afternoon.

i did watch some of the NHL Draft last night. i am pleased with whom the Rangers drafted:

 i figured i would start writing this now as i am busy waiting for Kroger to tell me my prescription is ready. it has always been the case, if i am waiting for something (phone call, email, etc.), go do something else and then it will happen. so, i'm putting that theory to the test.

the Yankees lost last night at Toronto, 9-2. they are playing like absolute shit right now. and sadly, i don't see it changing without some trades being made. they play again tonight in Toronto.

and the cherry on top of the suck last night, the USMNT lost to Panama, 2-1. the game was fucking nuts and dirty as hell. i hated the referee but i also hated how the USA took the bait from Panama and paid for it dearly. Tim Weah's red card was justified. the USA took the lead after that, but never figured out that you need to be a compact, precise defense when down to 10 men. didn't help that Panama ran Matt Turner and injured him so he couldn't play the second half. Panama had 3 times the number of fouls the USA did, but had the same number of cards the USA did. now, they will most likely have to beat Uruguay on Monday night to get out of the group. good fucking luck with that.

i didn't watch one second of the debate last night. i'm not thrilled that our only options are old men to lead this country. 

instead i watched Uruguay defeat Bolivia 5-0 in the Copa America last night. just as much of a horror show as the debate.

today has been a day...

 last night was the first night in 3 weeks that i was able to sleep more than 3 hours in my own bed. that surprised me. a bigger surprise was my doctor's appointment. my A1C was actually lower. and that comes after not having any Trulicity for the last month. they have taken me off of Trulicity and have put me on Rybelsus. that is, once the insurance company gives it the ok. my blood pressure was excellent and she put me on some muscle relaxers for my pinched nerve. i am always a big fan of better living through chemistry. i'll start the muscle relaxers tonight and the ibuprofen in the morning.

the Yankees had their asses handed to them yesterday, losing at home to Baltimore, 17-5. they start a series tonight at home against Atlanta.

i got to see a little of the Euro 2024 today.

i did watch the start of the Copa America last night. Argentina beat Canada, 2-0. tonight, Chile takes on Peru.

mom and i did go out to lunch yesterday after her physical therapy. she wanted to go to this new Mexican restaurant in town. amazingly, it was really good. the closest thing i have had to "real" Mexican food in years. i can definitely see this place becoming one of my favorites.

at least the humidity went away...

 i was actually able to open up the house today. a nice cool breeze this morning was flowing through. i got some more horrible sleep. sadly, i am used to it. i did get the house vacuumed today. that took a toll on my back. i was hoping a really good shower would help that. it didn't.

the Yankees won again last night, 8-5, at home against the Twins. the only thing that ruined the victory was the injury to Juan Soto. turns out it is just some elbow inflammation he has been dealing with for the last 10 days or so. so, a few days off and he will (hopefully) be fine. they start a series tonight at home against the Dodgers.
