welcome to the weekend...

i figured i would start writing this now as i am busy waiting for Kroger to tell me my prescription is ready. it has always been the case, if i am waiting for something (phone call, email, etc.), go do something else and then it will happen. so, i'm putting that theory to the test.

plenty of bad shit to get to, so here we go...

the Yankees lost last night at Toronto, 9-2. they are playing like absolute shit right now. and sadly, i don't see it changing without some trades being made. they play again tonight in Toronto.

and the cherry on top of the suck last night, the USMNT lost to Panama, 2-1. the game was fucking nuts and dirty as hell. i hated the referee but i also hated how the USA took the bait from Panama and paid for it dearly. Tim Weah's red card was justified. the USA took the lead after that, but never figured out that you need to be a compact, precise defense when down to 10 men. didn't help that Panama ran Matt Turner and injured him so he couldn't play the second half. Panama had 3 times the number of fouls the USA did, but had the same number of cards the USA did. now, they will most likely have to beat Uruguay on Monday night to get out of the group. good fucking luck with that.

i didn't watch one second of the debate last night. i'm not thrilled that our only options are old men to lead this country.

instead i watched Uruguay defeat Bolivia 5-0 in the Copa America last night. just as much of a horror show as the debate.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage, Real Time with Bill Maher and Fantasmas. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

i will probably watch a little of the Copa America games tonight. Columbia plays Costa Rica and Paraguay takes on Brazil.

the Euro 2024 games start back up tomorrow. time for the knockout rounds.

the NHL Draft is tonight. the New York Rangers have the 30th pick, so i probably will keep track of that on my phone. i know the Rangers are actively trying to trade some players. i actually hope they swing for the fences and dramatically change the team like Florida did a few years ago. they saw in person what those trades did for that team.

i was saddened last night when i found out that Kinky Friedman had died. another one of those one of one types of heroes for me. there will never be another...

and here comes the snow...

i didn't get to sleep last night until 5:30 this morning. so, of course, i was up at 9 watching it snow. i fear i won't even sleep well when i'm dead. joy.

the snow didn't really start sticking until this afternoon. i think the roads are just wet at the moment. i figure after tonight, they will become sheets of ice.

the New Orleans Saints defeated Denver yesterday, 31-3. the defense was really good yesterday and the offense basically ran the ball damn near the entire game. that's 8 wins in a row now for the Saints.

the finale of The Undoing was great last night.

Murder on Middle Beach was excellent last night. the finale is next week.

Moonbase 8 was funny last night.

My Psychedelic Love Story was amazing last night. i highly recommend it.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Industry. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

if the tracking is correct for UPS, the new phones should be here on Wednesday. my sister believes i'll be able to set them up, so... i'm glad she thinks i can handle modern technology after resisting it for most of my life.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

if you spent today shopping online, i hope you got some good deals.

i've spent most of the day icing my back down. joy.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. hard to believe this is the last day of November.

just a little drizzle, that's all...

i didn't sleep well last night. i know that's my normal, but this was different. my mother complained about not feeling well last night, but couldn't tell me if it was pain, upset stomach, head cold, anything... she only said that she just felt off. so, i stayed up until i heard her snoring. i kept my door open, just in case. and then i was up every few hours just to make sure she was okay. so yeah, i had a heaping amount of coffee this morning to try to wake up.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

I May Destroy You was very powerful last night.

Fuck That's Delicious was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs and Ringo's Big Birthday Show.

i'm going to try to be on here early tomorrow, before the Red Scare play in the TBT. mostly because, i have to do the grocery shopping as well tomorrow and know there is going to be a time crunch in the afternoon.

i have trash to pick up and i still haven't read the damn paper yet, so that's all for me kids.

one of those blah days again...

i've been trying to keep busy so i don't get depressed, but today is one those days where it would be extremely easy to slip into a depression and not decide to give a shit about anything for a couple of weeks.

before i had breakfast today, i had posted the latest recording to SoundCloud, went through 300 fucking emails, put the dishes away and got my pills ready for the week.

here is your video for the last day of National Poetry Month:

and here are a couple of links to poems you should be reading:

The Masked Singer was good last night. i have known who the Astronaut was for weeks now.

NXT was really good last night.

AEW was excellent last night.

What We Do in the Shadows was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Young Sheldon, Vice News Tonight, the season finale of Better Things, the season finale of Cake, Total Bellas, Shelter in Place with Shane Smith, Paley Center Salute to Parks and Rec and A Parks and Recreation Special. i watched NXT UK this afternoon already. it was pretty good.

i think mom wants to go to Menards tomorrow. so, i should be on here after we get back.

hard to believe we're at the end of April.

thanks again to everyone who has listened to my latest SoundCloud recording:

i need to go make a little trip to the drugstore to pick up some things, so that's all for me kids.

it's always something...

plenty of poetry news to get out of the way first kids...

i want you to check out this site and please pass it along to every poet you know.
https://hatepoetmagazine.wordpress.com/

i had a long conversation with my best friend last night. as soon as i saw her number, i knew it was going to be something borderline tragic. 60 minutes later, i'm hoping i gave her some decent advice and hopefully she creates a plan and sticks to it. i know, i almost started laughing while i typed that. i did get a really good poem out of the conversation though. that will be included in my next round of submissions.

i'm pretty sure i know where my next 16 poems are going to go. i am hoping to get those out in the next day or two.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i love that the next Raw pay per view will have the main event of Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar. take my money now.

I Hart Food was pretty good last night as well. there has always been a part of me that wanted to live in Asheville, North Carolina.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Hard Knocks and Deadliest Catch. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Yankees start a series tonight in Detroit. i really hope they can start stringing some wins together again.

i did listen to the latest Jim Norton & Sam Roberts podcast this morning. you can find that by going here: https://soundcloud.com/jimandsamshow/ep-038-jon-jones

i went to the bank today while it was raining. the woman i normally flirt with wasn't working today. my luck, she probably doesn't work there anymore. of course, by the time i came out of the bank, the rain had stopped. it had started once again by the afternoon. as always, fun time for someone with arthritis.

i have trash to pick up and dishes to do, so that's all for me today.

i'll be on here sometime in the afternoon tomorrow most likely.

it's not all it's cracked up to be...

i snuck in a nap yesterday while watching some soccer over in Europe. it was one of those naps where you are so damn tired you fall asleep in a horrific position, so i think may have done more harm than good. my back is still feeling it.

my buddy did come over to watch Ohio State beat UC last night, 50-28. the game certainly felt much closer than the final score. he ate before he got here, so it looks like i'm going to be stuffing my face today. it is good being around him again. we were damn near inseparable in high school. hard to imagine it's been so long since we've hung out together.

the Yankees lost yesterday 10-4, not that it matters. today is the final game of Derek Jeter's career. i guess he's going to DH again today. he went 1-2 doing that yesterday, leaving in the 5th inning. hopefully i will flip over in time to catch whatever happens today. helps that my football team isn't playing until tonight. i saw reports this morning that the manager ripped the team the day of the home finale. might be time to fire him if he thought that was the right time for that to happen. where was he the rest of the fucking season? as sad as today will be for me, i'll be so fucking happy this season will be over.

like i said before, the New Orleans Saints play tonight against Dallas. that throws a wrench in my television viewing tonight. if all goes as planned (when does that happen?) i'll start off with the game and then go to Boardwalk Empire. then, i'll watch The Strain, flipping back to the game during commercials. hopefully sometime after Last Week Tonight, the game will end. and i will hopefully be enjoying a victory beer while watching Total Divas and the season finales of Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex. and if all goes well, i'll be in bed before the sun is starting to come up.

my fantasy football lineups are set. i have no major injury concerns (knock on wood) so i have no major scrambling that has to happen later today. i don't like either of my matchups today. thankfully, i won't know the results until after the game tomorrow night. maybe i'll surprise myself today.

ROH was pretty good last night.

Saturday Night Live was a little odd. when it was good, it was great (Pete Davidson). when it was bad, it was car wreck fucking bad. you were going to look and you were hoping to see dead people. not sure if it was nerves or the weight of it being 40 years, but shit... at least the season can't get any worse (i hope).

well, that's all for me today. i have trash to pick up, cats to feed and breakfast to eat before i just lounge around for the rest of the day.

hopefully everyone is having a great weekend. unless you are a fan of that shit school to the north of me (Michigan), i imagine you are.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

and here comes the rain, at least the clouds

i'm running on not much sleep, but i do have some links for your national poetry month goodies:

http://news.syr.edu/cruel-april-series-concludes-with-poetry-readings-by-caturelli-colasacco-88363

http://www.startribune.com/entertainment/books/256000071.html

yesterday was mostly a sports day for me to forget. Manchester United looked lost and disinterested for most of the game against Everton and lost 2-0. there are reports today that David Moyes is going to be fired. i'll believe it when i see it.

the New York Rangers got up 2-0 on the Flyers and then feel into their usual Game 2 trap. for some fucking reason, they took the foot off the gas and got shelled, losing 4-2. not pretty.

the New York Yankees turned a win into a near loss into a win in extra innings yesterday. 5-1 in 12 innings. they play 3 games at the Red Sox starting tomorrow night.

the Sunday night shows were good as usual. Nurse Jackie made me long for my days on drugs. Californication is the show i always wanted to write. Silicon Valley was really good. i think that show is really starting to click. Veep is always funny as sadly, that's how the government actually works. Total Divas was really good. i need to get to Hawaii one day before i die. and Years of Living Dangerously is so sad to see how this planet is being raped by the greedy and the ignorant. i usually have to have a rest period after that show or i'll go to sleep angry.

tonight is my usual struggle between The Voice and Monday Night Raw. The Voice is live tonight, so i'll probably give that some more attention.

spent most of today doing some running for my mother and fucking around on iTunes. mom has this one spot that is leaking where it looks like the liquid glue they used to close her up didn't work. so, that's been fun trying to get that bleeding stopped while trying my best to not cause anymore pain. that's a little tricky to say the least. she got some sleep today, so hopefully she'll start feeling better soon.

it's supposed to rain tonight into the morning. that should help either both of us sleep better or be angry as fuck with pain. i'll let you know tomorrow.

check out the right hand side of the blog for my latest gift, the i crave freebies links. they actually work. use them people.

that's all for me. be well. hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.

peace and chicken grease bitches.
