what a crazy day...

so, i got to bed before 5 this morning, which was a minor miracle. i was hunting for this damn mini Jose Canseco card (1997 Fleer) i knew i had. after looking in 12 different albums, i finally found it. i'm just about ready to start unleashing what i have to sell to the world...

i had to go to three different stores today to get everything on the grocery list. the first two are normal, but i didn't expect Kroger to not have any Zyrtec at all. so, i had to go to the drugstore to get that one. i picked up some baseball cards while i was there. the pack i got had a couple hits in it, but not the card i am hunting for.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

Dirty Jobs was pretty funny last night.

Stockton On My Mind was excellent last night. i know so many damn white people that are so afraid of what this documentary shows. an educated black man with such radical ideas of helping people and it fucking works. god forbid. i recommend this one to every ignorant fuck in this world.

both Ohio teams lost last night in the MLS. both lost in the penalty kick shootout at the end of the game. both teams had the chance to win. like a punch to the nuts.

so, i guess the virus is winning...

i was really looking forward to this Yankees vs. Phillies series. of course, since MLB has its head up its ass regarding this virus, the whole series (2 games in Philadelphia, 2 games in the Bronx) has been postponed. instead, the Yankees are playing tomorrow and Thursday in Baltimore, where the Marlins were supposed to be playing. their team has 15 fucking players with the virus, so they can't field a competitive team at the moment. this has CLUSTERFUCK written all over it.

sometimes life gets in the way...

i knew i was going to miss some of the Manchester United game today because of needing to go grocery shopping. add in some rain, my bad back deciding today was going to be one of those days, and you can imagine the joy i was having. i saw maybe 3 minutes of the end of the game. i wasn't happy at all given that United drew with West Ham, 1-1. that one point though, coupled with Liverpool beating Chelsea 5-3, puts United in 3rd place on goal differential. United plays at Leicester on Sunday. they are in 5th now and need something out of the game to get in the Champions League. my dream scenario is somehow United and Leicester get in and Chelsea has to go play in the Europa League next season. of course, i wouldn't mind if United went full heel on Sunday and got the win and all 3 points. Chelsea play Wolves on Sunday. Wolves will need the game to guarantee games in the Europa League next season.

the grocery store was fucking crazy today. i was miserable from the pain and i had a hundred fucking things to buy it seemed. amazingly, i found everything. prices have gone up again, so keeping it under $100 was impossible today.

Deadliest Catch was a tad heartbreaking last night.

Dirty Jobs was pretty funny last night.

i did watch some of the Columbus Crew last night. they defeated Atlanta 1-0. i think the Crew are easily the biggest surprise of the MLS games so far. that is, of course, unless FC Cincinnati gets another stunner tonight and somehow advances in this tournament.

i was going to go to bed around 3 last night, but that was when the thunderstorms decided to show up. so, instead of just writhing in pain while trying to sleep, i went through some baseball cards for the umpteenth time. actually, i found some hockey cards from 40 fucking years ago that are in decent shape. hopefully, i can get some money for them.

a day without stifling humidity...

it was warm outside today, but not horrible. the humidity took the day off. of course, it's coming back with a rage tomorrow. joy.

i got all the shopping done before 3 this afternoon. i picked up some baseball cards and while i didn't get the card i was hoping for in the Topps Series 2 pack, i was pleased with what i did get. i wasn't expecting Turkey Reds of Ted Williams and Rod Carew, that's for sure. and i got a few good rookies in the Series 1 pack i got today as well.

the grocery stores weren't too busy. i think the meds i picked up for mom and myself cost about half of what i spent on the rest of the groceries. plus, i bought some Jagermeister today for the first time since god knows when. figure i better have a full bottle when the Rangers and Yankees get back to playing, if that really does happen.

i did watch some of the TBT finals. at least the Red Scare lost to the team that won it all. they won't have to play that "what if" game in their head for the rest of the summer.

the joys of frustration...

Manchester United pissed away a chance to move into 3rd place yesterday. Southampton scored at the death to make the game 2-2. those dropped points keep United in 5th. and since Manchester City somehow paid their way to freedom yesterday, the only way United makes the Champions league next season is by finishing in the top 4. now, they should still have a chance to do that, but if they would have won yesterday, they would have controlled their own destiny. and i suppose they could still win the Europa league. oh well, yesterday's game left me beyond frustrated. but, i did get all my baseball cards gone through, so that job is now complete.

i was shocked last night when i heard about the death of the guy from Mythbusters. Grant did an incredible job making me interested in science, something no teacher did in my entire lifetime.

i did watch some of the MLS game this morning as Chicago upset Seattle, 2-1. i am liking these games in the morning and late in the evening. perfect for an insomniac.

since it was supposed to rain this afternoon (so far, not a fucking drop, just some thunder), i did the grocery shopping this morning. i got everything on the list and spent less than $100. mom was a bit shocked by that. as of right now, everyone has to wear a mask when out in the Ohio county i reside in. i wore my Saints mask today. i have plenty to choose from now.

i did watch the Red Scare today play in the TBT. they won 77-68. they play on Friday against House of 'Paign, who upset Carmen's Crew (the #1 seed and winner from last year).

i didn't sleep well last night. i know that's my normal, but this was different. my mother complained about not feeling well last night, but couldn't tell me if it was pain, upset stomach, head cold, anything... she only said that she just felt off. so, i stayed up until i heard her snoring. i kept my door open, just in case. and then i was up every few hours just to make sure she was okay. so yeah, i had a heaping amount of coffee this morning to try to wake up.
