well, that was fun to watch...

Ohio State whipped Tennessee last night, 42-17, in the college football playoffs. that sets up a rematch against Oregon in the Rose Bowl.

in the other college football playoff games... Penn State destroyed SMU 38-10 and Texas beat Clemson 38-24.

AEW Collision was good last night.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Agency and two episodes of Dexter: Original Sin.

Manchester United lost this morning at home to Bournemouth, 3-0.

the New York Rangers are playing this afternoon at home against Carolina. they are currently up 1-0 in the first period.

i'm sure i will watch plenty of NFL games today. i did watch some of both games yesterday.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get back from taking mom to her doctor's appointment.

i was stunned yesterday by the news that Rickey Henderson had died. one of my favorite players growing up.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

gearing up for a long ass week...

now that mom is back into physical therapy, the weeks are going to be micro-managed to death. between her appointments and all the other shit i have to do, time to write this blog, poetry, etc. is going to have to be squeezed in where it can. so, don't be shocked if this blog has no set timetable for the next few weeks. i would love to get it done tomorrow in the morning as she has physical therapy in the afternoon and then i'm hoping to get an appointment to get my blood drawn. and of course, she wants to get her blood drawn at the same time.

the New York Rangers won at Florida yesterday, 4-3. thankfully, the "kid line" saved them after getting down 2-0. the boys are now just 2 points from clinching a playoff spot.

i did watch some MLS games last night:

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

half of the Final Four is now set. should be interesting to see who gets the final two spots today.

AEW Rampage was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Power Book II: Ghost, Yellowjackets and Succession.

i'm sure i will watch some hockey today as well as college basketball.

the wind finally has moved out of the area. thankfully, our power never went out. i certainly don't miss the windy days on the farm, always worrying about which tree was going to clip which power line.

if all goes well, i will be on here in the morning tomorrow. if not, the blog will be much later in the afternoon.

the rain finally stopped...

it seemed like it rained all damn day yesterday. i don't think it ended until around 5 this morning. of course, i was still up. been to the bank and Kroger already today. there is a rumor the sun might actually come out sometime today. that would be nice.

i can't remember the last time i had this many poems published in the same week. a big thank you to The Beatnik Cowboy, Yellow Mama, Synchronized Chaos and Terror House Magazine for publishing me this week.

the New York Knicks won last night in OT at Chicago, 128-120.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

i didn't watch the SNL Christmas special last night. i'm sure it is the same skits that they have put out the last few years. i might watch it a little closer to Christmas.

AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.

Hard Knocks was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and NJPW.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Toronto. i'd love to see the Rangers keep this winning streak going.

i might watch some of the NFL game tonight.

i need to drive mom out to the other side of the county so she can try to find a new lift chair.

i will be on here tomorrow after my doctor's appointment.

i hope everyone has a great day...

and finally, rain...

so, i got mom to the place this afternoon to get her blood drawn. i had to show her how to get the appointment online and everything, but now at least she has the app on her phone. after we got done there, we went to Perkins for lunch. i had a 20% off coupon. as we were leaving there, we could see the rain clouds rolling in. we got back home and of course, it hadn't rained here. 20 minutes later, we had a thunderstorm warning and showers pouring down. hopefully, this will break the fucking heatwave.

everything went well with mom's appointment with her heart doctor yesterday. her heart is much better than when she had congestive heart failure. of course, this meant they had to change up her meds again. joy.

as for the grocery shopping yesterday, it felt like it took forever. and since i was shopping later, they didn't have everything that was on the list. but, i eventually got everything for the most part. i did get a box of Fairfield baseball cards when i was at Rite Aid. $5 box that had about $15 worth of cards in it. that works for me.

AEW was really good last night.

Big Brother was good last night. sadly, it looks like Derek X is going to be evicted tonight.

American Horror Story: Double Feature was fucking great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Big Brother. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on Peacock.

the Yankees play tonight out in Oakland. hopefully, the Yankees can keep on winning.

i am going to try to be on here tomorrow morning before i have to take mom to another doctor's appointment. if the weather is nice, i think she wants to go shopping afterwards.

i survived the zoo...

i started off a little earlier than usual today with the grocery shopping. i found just about everything... and i only had to go to three stores.

the final two episodes of Industry were really, really good last night. i'm totally invested into seeing what happens in season 2.

Monday Night Raw was average at best last night.

the NBA starts back up tonight. i'm sure i'll watch some of the two games tonight.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Under the Grapefruit Tree: The CC Sabathia Story. along with the NBA, i'll probably watch some of the USA World Juniors pre-tournament game against Finland.

i did watch a decent amount of the Bengals beating the Steelers last night. that was a good laugh.

i might be on here later with a little poetry news. got an invite to send some poems in to this place and i think i have 5 that are good enough. at least i'm hoping so.

i should have some baseball cards coming tomorrow. more on that tomorrow night.

i will be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the League Cup quarter-finals.

i got mom some new candles today at the grocery store. i also got her another candle warmer so she can have one going in her room as well as the one she has going in the kitchen. she wasn't expecting the new warmer.

i have trash to pick up here and next door, so that's all for me kids.

sometimes life gets in the way...

i knew i was going to miss some of the Manchester United game today because of needing to go grocery shopping. add in some rain, my bad back deciding today was going to be one of those days, and you can imagine the joy i was having. i saw maybe 3 minutes of the end of the game. i wasn't happy at all given that United drew with West Ham, 1-1. that one point though, coupled with Liverpool beating Chelsea 5-3, puts United in 3rd place on goal differential. United plays at Leicester on Sunday. they are in 5th now and need something out of the game to get in the Champions League. my dream scenario is somehow United and Leicester get in and Chelsea has to go play in the Europa League next season. of course, i wouldn't mind if United went full heel on Sunday and got the win and all 3 points. Chelsea play Wolves on Sunday. Wolves will need the game to guarantee games in the Europa League next season.

the grocery store was fucking crazy today. i was miserable from the pain and i had a hundred fucking things to buy it seemed. amazingly, i found everything. prices have gone up again, so keeping it under $100 was impossible today.

Deadliest Catch was a tad heartbreaking last night.

Dirty Jobs was pretty funny last night.

i did watch some of the Columbus Crew last night. they defeated Atlanta 1-0. i think the Crew are easily the biggest surprise of the MLS games so far. that is, of course, unless FC Cincinnati gets another stunner tonight and somehow advances in this tournament.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW and NXT.

i will probably watch some of the MLS tonight as well during commercials.

we're having lasagna tonight. mom wanted to cook that, so i'm hoping it comes out well and she feels like she's still useful. that has become a daily battle in this house now.

i will be on here sometime before the Yankees play the Nationals tomorrow night. i'm ready for baseball to get back going and hopefully experience the joy (and drinks) from a long winning streak.

i think we got around an inch or so of rain today. it fucking felt like 3 or 4 quite honestly.

way too sunny for a day in December...

the poet in me needs my winter days fucking dark, gloomy, and a little moody. today there was a bright ass sunshine and a crisp wind. felt more like a cool day of Spring than anything. good thing climate change is a fucking hoax.

i noticed i didn't talk about Pete Holmes: Dirty Clean in the blog yesterday. it completely slipped my mind. i did watch the special. it was good, pretty funny. Pete is an acquired taste, but his take on dogs and cats should make anyone laugh. the shaken baby stuff might need a little sicker mind.

Ray Donovan was really good last night.

Escape at Dannemora was excellent last night.

WWE TLC was really good last night. i'm really happy with the title changes, mostly because it gives them a fresh direction to go in. and i can't wait to see what they are planning between Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

Manchester United lost to Liverpool yesterday 3-1. honestly, the game never felt that close for most of it. and to top off the misery, United drew PSG this morning in the Champions League draw. joy.

the New York Rangers lost to Las Vegas yesterday, 4-3 in OT. The King was the only damn reason they were able to get a point out of the game.

the Dayton Flyers lost another damn game yesterday they could have won. they lost 72-67 against Tulsa. they are now 5-5 on the season. once again, i'll never understand why the university decided to accept mediocrity. it's so fucking frustrated when you know the talent is there on the team but the coach isn't able to get it out of them.

to say i was a little pissed by the time wrestling started last night would be an understatement. that's why i was so damn happy that wrestling was good last night.

i did go to the bank this morning to make a deposit. i always get a laugh from the looks i get when i hold the door open for a black person. it's normally shock. that gives me a chuckle.

i did take mom to her appointment with her foot doctor today. after that, we went to lunch. tomorrow is her ear doctor i believe.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the night.

the New Orleans Saints play tonight at Carolina. given that the Rams lost last night, a win tonight for the Saints will put home field advantage throughout the playoffs one step closer. plus, i just would love to see the Saints win another game on the road and prove they are a complete team.

at least the Sacramento Kings won yesterday.

i got a couple more Christmas cards in the mail today from my aunts.

i need to start wrapping gifts here soon. hard to believe Christmas will be here in 8 days.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i saw my next 5 months flash before my eyes today

mom had a doctor's appointment today with the doctor she went to see when she first thought she was having memory problems. she thought the visit was just going to be finding out what she could do to help her feel like she's remembering things better. in other words, a google search. instead, she now will get a brain MRI, another memory test, physical therapy for her gait, blood work and god knows what else. as the doctor was rattling this shit off, all i could see was afternoons spent in waiting rooms scribbling poems into a little notebook, just like 15 or so months ago. joy.

after all that, mom wanted to go to lunch. we went to the place we used to always go when i had to take her south of town for physical therapy. my bright ass decided to get something a little spicier than before, since it was a little chilly today here. let's just say i have a new poem i have written about having to take a shit and you're about 10 minutes from home and there's traffic.

i realized i forgot to mention the New York Rangers loss in yesterday's blog. that should show just how much this team has disappointed me this season. they play Arizona tomorrow night. i almost give a shit.

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was pretty good as well last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.

American Horror Story was excellent last night.

Drop the Mic was much better than i thought it was going to be last night.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i'm ready for the knockout rounds now.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, You're the Worst and the season finale of Total Bellas. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade this afternoon. below is the link:

hard to believe that Dayton will play an exhibition game in just 10 days. college basketball is almost here.

i'll be on here pretty early tomorrow as my afternoon will be filled with taking mom to another doctor's appointment, grocery shopping and getting a battery replaced for the spare car keys.

that's all for me today kids.

i never shy away from a challenge

so a friend dared me to write a poem using a line she wrote in a message to me. i couldn't turn down the challenge of fitting "ass raped is gonna be the best poem" into a poem. so, i did a quick brainstorm and within 5 minutes i was typing the poem to her. she liked it and i did as well. i ended up writing and typing up 2 more poems this afternoon. 3 good ones to start off my June. that's good.

i just got out of the shower. my mother asked me how was it? i told her it felt like i was one step closer to death. she asked why and i said i look at us being on a race to death. and you're winning and i'm competitive. she didn't see the humor.

mom's nurse came this morning. everything was good. mom's physical therapist (who is smoking hot, holy shit) came a little later.  everything was good. about 90 minutes later, her occupational therapist came. everything was good. roughly a hour after all that, mom was complaining about her back. i told her to take the stronger pain drug, but of course she wants to be a fucking martyr. so, i will probably be buying more damn ice packs before too long.

the New York Yankees crushed the Blue Jays last night, 12-2. CC pitched great and Gary Sanchez hit 2 home runs. on top of all that, Aaron Hicks had 6 RBI. hopefully they can do it again tonight.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher.

i didn't watch any of Game 1 last night. judging from the highlights, Rihanna was probably the most entertaining thing about the game.

i am going to try to be on here tomorrow before the Champions League Final. of course, that all depends on what emergency run i have to make tomorrow; drug store, grocery store, etc. i believe my sister is coming down for the weekend as well. joy.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i need to go figure out what mom wants for dinner. something hot is just a little too vague for me.

Kevin Owens is my spirit animal

last night was one of those nights that the little kid in me remembers exactly why i love professional wrestling. Monday Night Raw was pretty good up until the main event. the spots with Bayley and The New Day were fun and i can definitely see them doing more of that in the future. i loved that they were giving the main event plenty of time. Big Cass, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens all looked great in the match. i don't think any of them will come out of this as a "loser". Cass was eliminated first, which made total sense. near the end of the match, HHH came out of nowhere and destroyed Roman Reigns. that makes sense because of what happened at WrestleMania. then, just as it looked like HHH was going to help Seth Rollins win the title, here comes the swerve. HHH hits Seth Rollins with his finisher and lets Kevin Owens win the title. kudos to KO for the absolute look of shock on his face during all of this. this sets up so many possible things. but, at least for one night, the WWE made me feel like a happy child once again.

the New York Yankees lost last night 8-5. shitty pitching early and the offense showed up too late. not a recipe for winning. they play again tonight.

part 3 of the CM Punk UFC documentary last night was good. i'd love to find my AJ Lee somewhere on this earth.

i did a little poetry work yesterday, mostly figuring out what i'm going to send where in the next day or so. more on that by the end of the week.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Hard Knocks.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll post the links to them down in the music section.

i have to take mom to get her blood work done today. and then this afternoon i take her to the chiropractor. sometime after that i have to get the trash picked up here and next door. and it's only supposed to be hotter than fuck once again here today. good times.

what a joy it is to have a face that scares children

i don't mind the stares, i don't mind the passing looks, but i do find it hilarious that i have had 3 children in the last 2 days look at me and start to cry. i'm obviously doing something right.

the New York Yankees pissed away a good game on offense with some shitty middle relief pitching to lose 7-5 last night in Seattle. Gary Sanchez did become the first Yankees rookie to have 8 home runs in his first 19 games. that's something DiMaggio, Mantle, etc. never did. the kid is fucking amazing. hopefully they find some middle relief pitching that is amazing as well. they play again tonight.

Monday Night Raw was interesting last night. Finn Balor had to give up the Universal Championship because of injury. he'll be out 6 months because of shoulder surgery. i feel so damn bad for him. next week they will crown the new champ in a fatal 4 way (Rollins vs. Reigns vs. Big Cass vs. Owens). i'd love to see KO win it. The Dudley Boyz called it a career last night. thankfully, they passed the torch to Gallows and Anderson and went through the table. what i'll probably remember the most from last night was Bayley finally making her Raw debut. it's long overdue. all in all, not a bad show.

i did watch the first five episodes of Holy Foley last night on WWE Network. it's more or less like most of their "reality" shows, cringe worthy bad with a few sprinkles of great. i did enjoy all the time with Becky Lynch and how emotional Mick Foley got when seeing the Hell in a Cell cage in WWE storage. that is one of the biggest HOLY SHIT moments in the history of professional wrestling.

i also watched the first two episodes of the CM Punk documentary the UFC did. i admire Punk for doing this. i wish he was this open during his wrestling career. hopefully he will do well and shut up all the fucking critics.

enjoy some music:

the pain pills seem to be working on mom already. i did notice that she seems to be walking better as well. so hopefully she's on the way to getting better.
