where caution meets panic and the lines are blurred...

i wrote 6 poems today. i was expecting to write them from the waiting room where my mother was getting her injection for her back. instead, the waiting room was only for the patients, everyone else had to wait in their vehicles. i know this is all out of an abundance of caution, but holy shit common sense doesn't fucking exist anymore. so, i did write 6 poems in the Highlander. i typed them up this afternoon. i think they are pretty good. of course, time will tell.

i'm really hoping the shot works for my mother. she doesn't get another one until June.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

The Voice was good last night. the battle rounds have finally started.

The Plot Against America was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Dark Side of the Ring. i believe they are showing part 1 and 2 of the Chris Benoit story tonight. that should be must watch television for anyone that is a pro wrestling fan.

mom already told me she might send me out for food tonight. she wanted McDonald's after her injection today.

Obi Toppin was named the AP Player of the Year today and Anthony Grant was named the AP Coach of the Year.

it's just an extra hour for me to be busy doing nothing

i just love how the news makes a big deal of turning your clocks back a hour. even when i was a child, i never got any extra sleep because of that. it was just an extra hour to be fucking bored. i just have to make sure i set the clocks before my old ass falls asleep tonight. i've got a busy Sunday morning, but that's for tomorrow...

i am looking forward to seeing the Dayton Flyers play tonight at UD Arena. mom is planning on going, so that should be interesting. she missed all of last season. i figure the team will be playing a completely different style. if it is like the VCU teams that Anthony Grant coached, i will enjoy it. when i played basketball, we pressed constantly, trapped, always looked to turn defense into offense. it makes the game so much easier to play. i'm sure Coach Grant will have some nerves tonight given he graduated from Dayton. they are playing Ohio Dominican, so i'm really hoping for a blowout in this exhibition game.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows. i never knew Scrabble was so fucking popular in Nigeria.

NJPW was excellent last night.

Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus was part 2 of Waylon Jennings last night. i laughed my ass off once again.

Real Time with Bill Maher was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Get Out, Saturday Night Live and ROH.

the New York Rangers will look to continue their winning streak tonight at the Florida Panthers. i'll miss most of the game while i'm at the basketball game.

Ohio State plays at Iowa this afternoon. this has trap game written all over it. hopefully that's not the case.

i'll be on here tomorrow (hopefully) in the morning, before Manchester United takes on Chelsea. that game will go right into the New Orleans Saints game. so i guess i'll be using my extra hour to do the blog.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i saw my next 5 months flash before my eyes today

mom had a doctor's appointment today with the doctor she went to see when she first thought she was having memory problems. she thought the visit was just going to be finding out what she could do to help her feel like she's remembering things better. in other words, a google search. instead, she now will get a brain MRI, another memory test, physical therapy for her gait, blood work and god knows what else. as the doctor was rattling this shit off, all i could see was afternoons spent in waiting rooms scribbling poems into a little notebook, just like 15 or so months ago. joy.

after all that, mom wanted to go to lunch. we went to the place we used to always go when i had to take her south of town for physical therapy. my bright ass decided to get something a little spicier than before, since it was a little chilly today here. let's just say i have a new poem i have written about having to take a shit and you're about 10 minutes from home and there's traffic.

i realized i forgot to mention the New York Rangers loss in yesterday's blog. that should show just how much this team has disappointed me this season. they play Arizona tomorrow night. i almost give a shit.

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was pretty good as well last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.

American Horror Story was excellent last night.

Drop the Mic was much better than i thought it was going to be last night.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i'm ready for the knockout rounds now.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, You're the Worst and the season finale of Total Bellas. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade this afternoon. below is the link:
Lydia Loveless - Boy Crazy and Single(s) Sneak Peek

i also listened to an interview with Anthony Grant this afternoon. you can find that by going here:

hard to believe that Dayton will play an exhibition game in just 10 days. college basketball is almost here.

i'll be on here pretty early tomorrow as my afternoon will be filled with taking mom to another doctor's appointment, grocery shopping and getting a battery replaced for the spare car keys.

that's all for me today kids.

i never did like this day

i suppose i have always been an old soul. i love making people laugh but April Fool's Day is one of those who gives a shit days for me. of course, it does start national poetry month, which is a good thing, at least in theory.

i'm not really sure what i'm going to do for national poetry month this year. as i quickly brainstorm, i suppose the video of the day will be a poem each day this month. there, done with it.

the WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies were excellent last night. they were long as hell, but to see Kurt Angle douse himself with milk at the end of it was fucking worth it.

NJPW was excellent last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking hilarious as always.

the New York Rangers lost in a shootout last night to Pittsburgh, 4-3. i figured they would lose since they can't win at home for anything now. at least they will be starting the playoffs on the road. they play tomorrow night against Philadelphia. i won't watch much of that game either.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

i will be watching NXT Takeover:Orlando for most of the evening on WWE Network. it should be amazing like all of the Takeover events have been.

i could tell from the first few minutes today that West Brom had come to Old Trafford and was looking for a 0-0 draw against Manchester United. that's exactly what fucking happened. not exactly the kind of frustration i wanted to start my day with.

i did watch the press conference for Anthony Grant this afternoon. i'm interested to see who he will have on his coaching staff and what recruits are still going to come to Dayton, if any. i did like what i heard from him about how Dayton will play. and i do know all the current players love that he has ties to the NBA.

i was really hoping the weather was going to be nice this weekend. instead i have the fucking furnace on as it is in the damn 30's outside. good times.

i suppose that's a good excuse to be inside and watch the Final Four tonight. Gonzaga vs. South Carolina and Oregon vs. North Carolina. or maybe not.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

not the day i was expecting

let's just say when my mother told me i had to take her to the emergency room this morning, i knew my entire fucking day was going to change.

without going into too much detail, she has cellulitis on the same damn leg she's having the hip replacement on. needless to say her surgery is now being pushed back. my best guess is it will be in mid April now. the emergency room we went to at Sam North was great. we were in and out in about 60 minutes. she's now on antibiotics for the next 10 days. hopefully that does the trick or next i get to take her to the hospital.

so, since she had drugs to get, i just went and did the grocery shopping today. i figured fuck it, get it done. i was able to keep everything under $60, so i was pretty happy.

of course, all of this meant mom couldn't get her phone fixed today. so she'll be going nuts without that i'm sure.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty funny last night.

Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll be watching the WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies for most of the evening on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Pittsburgh. i would love to see them get sharper as a team before the playoffs start, but honestly, they are exactly where i want them to be seed wise. the first wild card is probably their best chance to make it out of the first round this year.

i will be on here sometime tomorrow after Manchester United plays and after Anthony Grant is officially introduced as the next coach of the Dayton Flyers. after listening to a radio interview with Coach Grant last night, i'm all aboard now. as for United, suspensions and injuries are currently killing them. it will take a fucking miracle to make the top 4.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. it's WrestleMania weekend for me, so you know what most of this blog is going to be about for the next few days. i suppose that's the good thing about the surgery getting pushed back. i can now watch all this shit and not try to make it the rest of the day on just 2 hours of sleep.

not the sexy pick, but...

i find it kind of funny that the Dayton Flyers hired their coach today less than 24 hours since i had a nice long chat about the coaching search with a lawyer. nothing wrong with hiring Anthony Grant. he's an alum, he's got ties to the NBA, he's won it all when he was an assistant at Florida, etc. etc. at 50 years old, he probably isn't looking to leave his alma mater. now, he certainly wasn't my choice for the job. i definitely think he deserved an interview but i would have preferred them to go the up and coming route. take the fucking chance to go out and find the next Archie Miller. instead, the young athletic director painted himself into the corner of having to one day (maybe) fire a treasured member of the alumni. good luck with that. all that being said, i know i will root my ass off for Coach Grant just like i have for every other Dayton coach. now, i hope he can get all the recruits to stay and assemble a great coaching staff. and hopefully the coach that recruited most of the new recruits that has known coach Grant and his wife for over 20 years stays on board.
now, it is kind of unfortunate that the new coach will be introduced on April Fool's Day... that's also the anniversary of my baptism. talk about fucking irony.

NXT was pretty good last night. i can't wait for Takeover: Orlando this weekend.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory and Life in Pieces. i'll also probably watch some things on WWE Network tonight.

all of that is weather permitting as we are currently under a tornado watch. good times.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this morning. if you are watching WrestleMania this weekend, i highly recommend checking it out. you can find it by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2017/3/30/wrestling-podcast-127-wrestlemania-preview

i sent out 10 poems today. 4 to The Commonline Journal and 6 to In Between Hangovers. when i hear back from Tasha at In Between Hangovers, i'll pass along the verdict.

my back feels a little better today. it's still stiff as fuck, but i'm hoping a long, hot shower and more ice will help that.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i have to drive mom out to the Apple store to get her phone fixed. of course, the closest one to us is about 45 minutes away. i'm not looking forward to that drive in the rain tomorrow. fuck me runnin'.

that's all for me today kids.
