there are some days where all i can do is simply strap in and know i'm going to be riding the waves of pain all day long. doesn't matter the amount of stretching i do or how often i ice my back, the pain never leaves. like a stubborn drunk, it settles in for the night...
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
NXT UK was very good last night.
Cake was awesome last night.
Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.
the Yankees lost to the Phillies last night, 13-12. they play the Orioles tonight.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.
the New York Rangers whipped Philadelphia once again last night, 8-3.
so, like you can imagine, i have more or less done absolutely nothing today. mom said i more or less just gave up while i was trying to stretch in bed and my body just turned off. this is the joy of when no pain pills can touch the pain and we live in a society that would rather keep all the good shit for themselves.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm hoping it will be in the morning, which means my back feels much better than it does now.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.
until tomorrow kids...

one thing i hate about myself is i am interested in so many fucking things and my brain is still capable of consuming it all. at least, that is what i am telling myself while watching wrestling at 5 in the morning, still waiting to go to bed. and then, like magic, up out of bed 4 1/2 hours later, ready for the world. i still think i'm secretly doing this because part of me fully believes i'll be dead by 50.
the New York Yankees got rained out again last night. that game will be made up in a doubleheader in August. the Yankees play a doubleheader today to make up for the first rain out against the Orioles. hopefully, they will win both games.
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:
here are your highlights from the playoffs and NBA Draft Lottery last night:
i got 3 out of the 4 finalists on The Voice right last night. i shouldn't be surprised that Blake got 3 to the finals once again. i suppose, just like last season, he'll lose again. this time to John.
Smackdown was good last night. way too much talking for me though.
205 Live was really good last night.
Miz & Mrs. was hilarious last night.
The Jim Jefferies Show was excellent last night.
Deadliest Catch was crazy last night.
What's My Name: Muhammad Ali was good last night. most of the footage was from before i was born, so i did find it interesting.

let's just say when my mother told me i had to take her to the emergency room this morning, i knew my entire fucking day was going to change.
without going into too much detail, she has cellulitis on the same damn leg she's having the hip replacement on. needless to say her surgery is now being pushed back. my best guess is it will be in mid April now. the emergency room we went to at Sam North was great. we were in and out in about 60 minutes. she's now on antibiotics for the next 10 days. hopefully that does the trick or next i get to take her to the hospital.
so, since she had drugs to get, i just went and did the grocery shopping today. i figured fuck it, get it done. i was able to keep everything under $60, so i was pretty happy.
of course, all of this meant mom couldn't get her phone fixed today. so she'll be going nuts without that i'm sure.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
The Big Bang Theory was pretty funny last night.
Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll be watching the WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies for most of the evening on WWE Network.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Pittsburgh. i would love to see them get sharper as a team before the playoffs start, but honestly, they are exactly where i want them to be seed wise. the first wild card is probably their best chance to make it out of the first round this year.
i will be on here sometime tomorrow after Manchester United plays and after Anthony Grant is officially introduced as the next coach of the Dayton Flyers. after listening to a radio interview with Coach Grant last night, i'm all aboard now. as for United, suspensions and injuries are currently killing them. it will take a fucking miracle to make the top 4.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. it's WrestleMania weekend for me, so you know what most of this blog is going to be about for the next few days. i suppose that's the good thing about the surgery getting pushed back. i can now watch all this shit and not try to make it the rest of the day on just 2 hours of sleep.

before i gripe about single digit temperatures and no fucking sun for another day, a little poetry news.
i sent out 21 poems today, most likely my last submission of 2016. i sent 5 poems each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Easy Street and Synchronized Chaos. i sent 6 poems to The Recusant. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
it was cold as fuck again this morning. thankfully, the temperatures have been rising, of course, that means we're going to most likely get some freezing rain tonight. good times.
the guy working on the furnace showed up on time this morning. he told me that we'll most likely have to get a new igniter for it in 2017. that's better than a new furnace, and cheaper.
The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night.
Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.
Total Impact was funny last night. some of the matches were just laugh out loud for how bad they were. seeing a ton of the old faces from my youth simply reminded me just how long i've been watching wrestling. but, in the end, if the object was to be memorable, they pulled it off. i still won't be a regular viewer, but crazy shit will always get me to stop and watch.
i didn't watch much of the football game last night. i certainly didn't miss anything, but i picked the game right.
the New York Rangers won last night, 2-0 over Dallas. i nearly lost my voice when The King got run over by that piece of shit Cody Eakin. thankfully, The King was able to return to the game. he was spectacular last night. Rick Nash scored the game winner shorthanded. the Rangers added an empty netter for the final score. they next play at Nashville on Saturday.
Eakin did get suspended for 4 games for the play. hopefully he will also get his ass whipped when Dallas comes to play in New York.

thanks to the ones who have already sent me Christmas cards. i really do appreciate it.
i guess the insulation project has been rescheduled for next Friday. that's going to be a grand clusterfuck for me. i have an eye appointment and a basketball game that day as well. oh joy.
it's supposed to get up to 50 degrees tomorrow. that should be high enough to get everyone sick after 3 days of it's fucking cold.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. i'll be on here in the morning before Manchester United plays. if not, i will certainly be on here before the Dayton Flyers play Saturday night in Chicago.

i took a long, hot shower this afternoon. i had to get the stench of the weekend off of me. hopefully it worked.
the New York Yankees saw their winning streak come to an end yesterday, losing 4-2 to Tampa Bay. they fell back 1 game each in the division and wild card race. they start a series against the Dodgers tonight to finish out the homestand. MUST win games for both teams, so it should be interesting.
the New Orleans Saints pissed away a lead and a tremendous game from Drew Brees yesterday to lose to Oakland, 35-34. so much for the defense being improved.
those two losses sort of left me in a funk for the rest of the day. my fantasy teams didn't do much better. i have no hope of winning my CBS Sports league game. i have 2 players going tonight, but i'm down 40 points and my opponent has the Steelers best WR going tonight. i'll chalk that up as a loss. my NFL.com league game is a little better. i'm trailing by a little over 3 points, mostly thanks to Drew Brees. i have a WR from the Rams going tonight and my opponent has a RB from the 49ers going tonight. hopefully i can squeeze out a victory.
thankfully, the Sunday night shows were excellent last night.
Lip Sync Battle was hilarious.
Big Brother was pretty funny. why are people shocked when they get fucked over on this show?
Ray Donovan was pretty good last night. the season finale should be interesting. Masters of Sex was good last night. hopefully this season will be better than the last one. Vice Principals was fucking hilarious last night. it sort of reminded me what happens when i drink too much tequila. Ballers was funny, mostly because of all the football players on the show. and finally, The Strain was fucking fantastic last night.
WWE Backlash was really good last night. i loved all the new champions. the pace and storytelling of the show was excellent and it got done at a decent time that i could still have some energy to watch all the other shows on the night. excellent work.
enjoy some music:

nothing on the DVR tonight, i'll be flipping back and forth between Monday Night Raw and the two NFL games tonight.
mom didn't call the doctor's office today like i wanted her to. she wants to wait for the chiropractor to tell her how bad it really is. so i guess she needs a second opinion on her own pain.
i'll probably have to go to the grocery store tomorrow, probably after i take mom to the chiropractor. i'm sure the people watching my credit cards are wondering what the fuck is going on. going from barely being used each month to now being used multiple times each week, i can see why they might think they have been stolen.
i hope everyone had a better weekend than me. i'm not setting the bar that high anymore.

the Dayton Flyers lost today to Saint Joe's 82-79. Dayton didn't shoot well enough to win this game. Dayton didn't play defense well enough to win this game. but overall, the horrific officiating in this game was what decided it. just god fucking awful. and the sad thing is, these assholes will probably be refs in the tournament games next week and probably ruin them as well. so many missed calls or just swallowing the whistle or even worse, thinking you had the right call and it's not even fucking close. but, like the wife of the coach of Dayton said on twitter, the refs did the same thing to us 2 years ago and we made the Elite 8. time to do it again.
and to cap off my shitty day, the New York Rangers pissed away 2 different leads and 40 fucking saves from The King to lose in OT to Detroit, 3-2. just a game of shitty puck luck and the wrong people on the ice at the wrong fucking times. yes, i'm talking about you Dan Boyle. please retire NOW. the Rangers play tomorrow against Pittsburgh. i don't think i'll get to see much of it. more on that later.
NJPW was excellent last night. Treehouse Masters was pretty cool. VICE was once again MUST SEE television.

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live.
before my day turned to shit, i watched ROH this afternoon. i really enjoyed the tag team gauntlet.
mom and i went to the grocery store this morning. i ran into one of my cousins. he's a bit younger than i am but we have always been cool with each other. i was hoping his wife was with him. she's one of the long list of crushes i've had in the past. i believe mom and i were in the store for well over 90 minutes. i guess we were getting low on shit.
i guess my sister is coming over tonight in a little bit.
i'm not sure when i will be on here tomorrow. chances are it might be early in the morning. we have to go to Columbus tomorrow for a Blue Jackets game. they are facing Tampa Bay, or how i refer to them, Rangers south. i'm hoping the game gets over in time for us to get somewhere to watch Selection Sunday.
so not only will i miss the Rangers game tomorrow, i'll also miss Manchester United in the FA Cup. god willing, both teams will win without me watching.
the rest of tonight will be getting ready to watch a special on WWE Network. Roadblock looks like it is going to be really good tonight. at least i hope it is.
now i just have to remember to put the clocks ahead tonight before i fall asleep.
if i'm not on here in the morning, i'll try to squeeze one in before all the Sunday night shows. or this could end up being the only post of the weekend.
i hope your Saturday has been better than mine.

so i sat down to watch Monday Night Raw last night and Vince McMahon said it will be a night none of us will ever forget. i rolled my eyes and said bullshit. then, a few minutes later, a holy shit moment happened:
Shane hasn't been on WWE television in something like 6 or 7 years. and when he said he's come back to save the company, i was thrilled. not because it will actually happen, but it will make shit more interesting and opens the possibilities for WrestleMania. i had heard the rumor that The Undertaker was going to take on someone not on the roster. taking on Shane McMahon in Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania was one of those out of fucking nowhere things that was simply amazing. knowing Shane, even at 46, he's going to do something totally fucking crazy.
the only thing that bothered me about the show last night was there was no Kevin Owens. that's dropping the ball right there. they could have used that useless segment between AJ Styles, Chris Jericho and The Social Outcasts to set up a feud between Owens and Styles for WrestleMania. that would be awesome. although, i did like how the show ended.
of course, i found out this morning that the blood was fake. that's too bad. all in all, a great Monday Night Raw, something i haven't said in quite some time.
i watched The X-Files this morning as i tried to get some sleep last night. that was a mind fucker for real. and the ending left me feeling like what the fuck. if all my questions were going to be answered, how do you end on a cliffhanger? although, i could totally see what happened in the show actually happening. i wouldn't doubt some rich fucks don't already have a plan in action to eliminate most of the "unwanted" in the world.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Muppets and Total Divas.
the New York Rangers play at New Jersey tonight. hopefully they can get another win.
the Dayton Flyers play at St. Louis tonight. this is a MUST win game or they will go from being a "lock" for the tournament to being on the bubble.
hopefully i am enjoying two victory beers tonight.
i know i have to drive mom to her physical therapy in the morning, so i won't be back on here until sometime in the afternoon.
i have trash to pick up now and laundry to get done. the weather is supposed to get a little crazy after the sun goes down tonight, so i'd love to have some shit done before then.
i hope this finds everyone in a good mood enjoying a cold drink or a hot someone.

last night was going good for me. i was a few victory beers in and then a stubborn fucking German got in the way and screwed the whole damn thing up.
team USA lost to Mexico last night 3-2. now, i'm not going to say that Mexico didn't deserve to win. they did. i'm not going to say that Mexico didn't outplay the USA for nearly the entire damn game. they did. what i will say is Jurgen Klinsmann has to go. i was all for his hiring and the promise of a fresh, progressive style of soccer. and then i see the results. the two biggest games he's been the manager, vs. Belgium in the World Cup and last night vs. Mexico, and his bright, brilliant plan is to just sit back and defend, defend, defend and hope you catch a break on a set play or counter attacking. when Mexico went up in extra time last night, the USA finally had to start to attack. and holy shit, they scored a goal in the process. what a concept. of course, a few minutes later they gave up the winner as they went back into turtle mode. i'm not sure who they should get to coach the team or become the technical director for all of US soccer. add on to yesterday's mess that the U-23 team lost and probably won't make the Olympics again and you see why the time is now for a change. it probably took me almost 4 hours to decompress after that loss last night. it will sadly take US Soccer a million times longer to get their heads out of their asses and do something about the problem.
i watched Saturday Night Live right after the soccer game. i needed a few laughs. thank god i found them:
ROH was excellent last night as well.
Ohio State reminds me of every punk motherfucker i grew up playing basketball with. so much god given talent yet they always just did enough to get by. Maryland was even in the 3rd quarter of the game yesterday, 21-21. their QB was running the ball like he was a NFL player playing against a high school team. i guess Ohio State finally realized they were getting punched in the mouth and decided to respond. Ohio State won 49-28. it NEVER should have been that close.
the New York Rangers had their home opener last night. i had to go on YouTube to find the player introductions. i was so happy i did:
they blitzed the Blue Jackets for 3 early goals and The King started playing like this:
the Rangers won the home and home winning last night 5-2. 3-0 to start the season while playing 3 games in 4 nights. that smells to me like a team on a mission this season. here are the game highlights from last night:
i managed to get my fantasy hockey team to even for the week. i'm going to roll the dice today and see if it stays that way. i'm hoping it does.
let's enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
tonight on the DVR will be Homeland, The Affair and Last Week Tonight.
the New Orleans Saints play the Eagles today. i have no fucking clue what to expect in this game. i'd love for the Saints to win as i could really use a strong drink today.
i'm taking a few chances on my fantasy football team today. it's one of those situations where i'm trusting my gut and hoping it doesn't have shit for brains.
i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. i haven't seen him in months so i get the feeling this is going to be a long one. i know i need some things checked, prescriptions renewed or changed, a flu shot, etc., etc. so i probably won't be on here until the afternoon tomorrow.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday is better.

we had a nice big thunderstorm come through here and it has wiped out our phones. or, the old ass phones have died. either way, i don't care because i rarely ever use the phone anymore. but, it looks like something else we'll have to do to once again join the 21st century.
the rain hasn't killed me yet. my back isn't tight, yet. but my arthritis is licking its chops. hopefully the rain will cool everything off. it's 88 degrees on Sept. 2nd. fucking ridiculous.
the New York Yankees won 3-1 last night. a couple of timely hits (what a concept) and some good pitching. they play again this afternoon. hopefully they can get the win, which would end this road trip with a record of 5-1. i'll gladly take that.
the season finale of Tyrant was excellent. i thought for so long that it was just going to be a paint by the numbers finale and then the ending blew me the fuck away. and if you know the back story of the character that did the shooting, it makes so much more sense. i can't wait for season 3, if there is to be one. FX has a tendency to end shows after 2 seasons.
Total Divas was the usual nonsense. the show did make me laugh a few times, mostly at Paige:
Hard Knocks was great last night, mostly because of the i will never be able to erase this image from my mind of Vince Wilfork:
keep in mind he has on the overalls, cowboy boots and nothing else. enjoy that visual.
anyone else like a little music with the pain:

tonight on the DVR will be Big Brother. i am really interested to watch NXT tonight as the Dusty Rhodes tag team tournament starts. if done right, that should be excellent.

mom got sick last night, sick enough that when i saw her this morning i thought she'd spend the whole day in bed. by the afternoon she was feeling better and when she started going over the grocery list, she realized we needed to go to the store. so that put off the trip to the VA for another day. between Menards and Kroger's, i believe i am officially fucking tired. over 3 1/2 hours in two stores. good thing i showered. but, we did get just about everything we needed. plus, i got a few more solar lights for the yard. before long, the neighbors will be blind looking at this place.
the New York Yankees won last night 2-1. CC pitched his best game of the season and the bullpen did what they usually do. they start a series tonight with 2nd place Toronto. worst case scenario, the Yankees will still be in first place after this series even if they get swept. hopefully, the Yankees can take 2 of 3. they are currently trailing 1-0 as i'm writing this.
i was a little disappointed with Big Brother last night. Clay went home and got all the votes to be evicted. thankfully, Becky won HOH so the game should be a bit crazy this week, especially once they realize there will be a double eviction coming on Thursday.
the shows last night were pretty good. Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll was pretty damn funny. Married made me laugh as well. Lip Sync Battle was really good with the women from Broad City. but the winner of the night had to be The Daily Show. i just wish i would have recorded it. i did watch all of it though, from nearly all the previous people on the show coming back to the end with Bruce Springsteen. all in all, a great ending to Jon Stewart's run as host. enjoy some highlights:
enjoy some music kids:

on the DVR tonight will be 2 episodes of NJPW and Treehouse Masters.
the Premier League starts back up tomorrow. of course, Manchester United plays in the first game, 7:45 in the morning my time. so, i'll be on here sometime tomorrow after that game.
Yankees and Blue Jays are now tied at 1.
that's all for me today. i have to get some food in me to take my pills.

i had to get up early this morning. and by early, i mean sometime before 7. i had to drive mom to get her blood work done and some x-rays. i'm simply not a fan of being up that early anymore. i wanted to believe i gave that life up when i left the farm for good. here it is, late afternoon and it fucking feels like it's already time for bed. fuck me runnin'.
i did take along my pen and notebook this morning. i have a tendency to do what i did in high school all the time, write poems in public. i did really enjoy the paranoid looks i got from people when they saw me get out the pen and paper after staring at them for a few seconds. that's good fun. i wrote 3 poems while in the waiting area. the fourth poem came when i was back at the house, on the shitter after breakfast. it figures the best one would come from there. i do my best thinking anymore on the shitter. i did type all four poems up. i think 3 of the 4 are really good.
so the trip for the medical shit, breakfast, typing up poems, feeding the birds and two trips to the shitter were all done by 11 am. that's simply way too much for my liking.
what really sucks now is we are under a flash flood watch. it was dry all morning and my bone spurs never acted up. a little rain and hello agony. good times.
enjoy some music:
the New York Yankees got some great pitching from Tanaka yesterday and some good offense for a change, winning 6-2. Brett Gardner found out during the game that he made the AL All-Star team as an injury replacement. good for him, he deserves it. the Yankees finish off the first half of the season by starting a series tonight in Boston. hopefully they sweep the Red Sox and keep those clowns in last place.
Big Brother last night went as expected. i do like who the new HOHs are, Austin and Vanessa. those were the two people i actually knew of before the show started, via wrestling and poker. hopefully this week is interesting.
Lip Sync Battle was really funny last night. once again, the summer is a good time for some stupid tv that just makes you laugh:
here is some more funny shit:
tonight will be an interesting one. on top of the baseball game, team USA plays Haiti in the Gold Cup. i'm hoping the boys play a much better game than they did against Honduras. on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and a returning Treehouse Masters.
i did watch some of the USA women and their ticker tape parade in NYC this afternoon. everything they get they truly deserve.
i'd like to thank Janne Karlsson for his suggestions for this blog. one thing that i did like right off the bat and i will try to do each Friday is a blast from the past of my poetry. so, today here is an old YouTube video of mine. as i told Janne, my lazy ass needs to do some more of these videos before too long. anyway, hope you enjoy:
i hope everyone has a great weekend. i believe mom and i are going to go out car shopping. most likely scenario is her getting a new one and i get her old Toyota Highlander. it has over 250,000 miles on it but still runs very good. plus, if that does happen, that would be the first vehicle i have owned that was actually made in this century. as i always like to say, it's fun to always fail forward.
hope you have better weather than we do currently. have a great weekend. only fuck the ones that cough. drink a little too much and go leave your neighbor a surprise on their porch.
