i'm not exactly sure why this shit keeps happening to me or why people like to poke the bear, so to speak. at the age of 42, i'm still getting fucking messages from people pretending to be someone else and then doing a piss poor job of trying to tell me they aren't fucking scamming me. i'm just too fucking old for these games. so, i suppose either i will find someone who will end this damn misery for me or maybe death comes first. the saga continues.
the season finale of The X-Files last night was crazy. i'm a little torn given some of the deaths. plus, if this was the final show ever, there are so many open holes that there truly is no sense of closure. of course, that's probably a metaphor for our lives.
NXT was excellent last night. i could watch Gargano and Ciampa go at each other forever and never get bored.
i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade last night. below is the link: Suri - As I Am
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Gotham, Atlanta and Lip Sync Battle.
the NCAA tournament starts back up tonight. i will probably watch some of the games tonight.
the New York Rangers play tonight at Philadelphia. hopefully they will lose again tonight.
i need to get ready to take mom to her physical therapy. after we get done with that, we're going to go have lunch. then, it will be the sad final trip to Toys R Us to see what the hell is still there. i'm not getting my hopes up of finding anything good.
plus, i am bringing my little notebook with me, so i will hopefully have a nice writing session in the waiting room of the physical therapy office once again.

i couldn't find a comfortable spot in my bed to fall asleep until around 4 in the morning. just imagine my joy when the phone rang before 9 AM. so much for catching up on some sleep.
we got around 3 inches of snow. it was a really wet snow that has melted a little by this afternoon. i didn't think we got a newspaper this morning. turns out the fucker was buried in the snow. hopefully the rest will melt by tomorrow afternoon.
Smackdown was really good last night. Daniel Bryan being back is truly fucking awesome. the end of the show and the violence between Kevin, Sami and Daniel has me dreaming of the match those 3 could have at WrestleMania.
205 Live was excellent last night. i can't wait for the title match at WrestleMania between Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali. that should be great.
Baskets was hilarious last night. the season finale is next week.
Hate Thy Neighbor was very good last night.
The Voice was very good last night.
The Chris Gethard Show was fucking insane last night. i love that it is back on the air.
the New York Rangers lost to Columbus last night 5-3. it was a good loss as a good number of bad teams won last night. i need the Rangers to be in line for pick number 7 or better in the draft.

i'm going to try to be on here early tomorrow as mom has a physical therapy appointment in the afternoon. and since we will be south of town and the Toys R Us going out of business sale starts tomorrow... i believe after her therapy we're going to make a stop there before we come home. and i'm sure we'll probably get a late lunch down there as well.
i do hope that the weather was better wherever you may be. of course, if you're on the East coast of the USA, i hope you have a shovel ready.

i told my mother this morning that i filled out a bracket but didn't enter any contests. this will be the year where i probably only miss 2 or 3 games.
i started the day off getting the first 3 games right, so...
the First Four games last night weren't as good as the games on Tuesday. Texas Southern defeated NC Central 64-46. the game didn't feel even that close for most of it. i did get a high school feel from the game as NC Central had one white player on the team. that sums up my basketball life for the most part. plus, the cheerleaders certainly reminded me of my time at a black high school as well. i'm sure those dirty thoughts will end up in some poems soon. the battle of the bands stunk as it was completely unorganized and a clusterfuck for the most part. in the second game, Syracuse defeated Arizona State 60-56. mom wanted to leave before the game was over, so i didn't get to see the last 2 minutes or so. i had the game on in the car. i think she wanted to leave early so she didn't have to sit in traffic like the night before. one of the things i pride myself in is never leaving early. so, i was clearly pissed. i was actually hoping the game would go into OT so i could really be an asshole about it.
Waffle House was a little better last night than the night before. amazingly, the meal i got was less greasy than the night before, even though it probably shouldn't have been. of course, mom ordered too much food and started putting shit on my plate. i wonder how i got fat?
The X-Files were pretty fucking creepy last night. the season finale looks like it should be pretty damn good next week.
NXT was really good last night. i'd love to see Adam Cole and Pete Dunne fight forever.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Gotham, Will & Grace, Lip Sync Battle and Atlanta.
i'm sure i will be watching plenty of college basketball tonight as well.
the New York Rangers came from behind last night and defeated Pittsburgh 4-3 in OT. to say i was shocked when i got home and saw the highlights would be an understatement. this team can't even fucking tank the season correctly.
i see the Yankees won this afternoon over the Pirates 9-5. looks like i'll be drinking tonight.
well, i think i have finally figured out how to get 5 hours of sleep in a row. don't go to bed until six in the morning. when i woke up and saw it was 11 AM i started to laugh. what's a good breakfast to eat at noon?
yesterday was one of those days where i'm truly happy i'm a poet. i'm well adjusted enough that when shit goes sideways, i know how to swallow my anger and vent it in a somewhat productive way.
when mom and i got to the basketball game yesterday, we got a program and went to find our seats. mom believed the seats were in the back row two sections over from where we normally sit. well, it was in the back row all right. the row that was nothing but chairs meant to be moved for wheelchairs. just fucking lovely. about two minutes into sitting there mom looked over at me and said this is going to kill your back isn't it? i said yeah, but i'm sure i'll be able to channel that pain somewhere. it was at that time i had learned Manchester United had got knocked out of the Champions League by Sevilla. to say i was seething would be an understatement.
mom said next time she'll let me handle the tickets. i agreed, considering this is two straight years she has managed to fuck something up. i guess it's getting to that point where i have to be the asshole son.
the First Four games were pretty good last night. Radford defeated LIU Brooklyn 71-61.that was their first win in tournament history. our seats were behind the Radford section. that had a good number of fans rooting for them. they had a player from Cincinnati on their roster, so i think that helped. in the second game, the Dayton fans kept their word and made Saint Bonaventure feel at home. and it worked. Saint Bonaventure defeated UCLA 65-58. that was their first win in the tournament since 1970. we got out of the parking lot right around midnight. joy.
we went to Waffle House after the game. that's basically the only thing that is open in Brookville at that hour. unless we wanted to eat gas station food. our waitress at Waffle House was in a pissy mood and the cook was new. these are the nights the world should he happy i don't carry a fucking gun with me.
once we got home, i started watching everything that recorded. thankfully, all of it did record, even though the snow fucked with the recording of Vice News Tonight.
oh, to top off everything, about 3 minutes after i got home i found out that Stephen Hawking died. to the man that actually got me interested in science after all the teachers in my life had failed, thank you.
The Voice was pretty good last night. the blind auditions are now over. now the fun truly begins.
Smackdown was much better last night. i did enjoy the Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn brutal beatdown of Shane McMahon.
205 Live was excellent last night. Cedric Alexander vs. Roderick Strong was very good.
Baskets was pretty funny last night.
Hate Thy Neighbor was all about feminism last night. a very interesting show to watch bleary eyed at 5 in the morning.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The X-Files. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Pittsburgh. the Rangers are starting their backup goalie again. this makes me pretty happy. they might as well see what the kids can do before they have to start making decisions in the summer.
the First Four games tonight are:
NC Central vs. Texas Southern
Arizona State vs. Syracuse
mom will be happy as at least we know there will be good bands at the game. my penis did enjoy the fact that UCLA brought their cheerleaders and dance team last night.
i figure i'll be on here sometime in the afternoon tomorrow. i'm going to go stretch out and hopefully take a giant shit.
hope you enjoy the visual.

i couldn't get comfortable in bed last night until something like 4 in the morning. my left leg was absolutely fucking killing me. eventually, i got a few hours and have been dragging all damn day. thankfully, mom had a 3 ring binder she wasn't using, so that saved me a trip to the dollar store.
i am sort of in shock that out of the 24 poems i sent out yesterday, 6 have been published, 13 have been accepted for publication, 2 have been rejected and 3 i am still waiting to hear back on. and most of those poems were poems i had written while in the waiting room of my mother's physical therapy. maybe i have some talent still left in this wreckage of a body.
The Voice was pretty good last night.
Smackdown was sort of just how hum until the end last night. i was somewhat shocked that they had Sami Zayn turn on Kevin Owens last night. it made sense from the point of this is the only way you could logically have Sami win and not have to have a title exchange hands. but, part of me thinks that should have been saved for the ppv this Sunday. now, god knows Sami won't be winning that match, but it would have been so easy to then set up a WrestleMania match between Kevin and Sami and have it feel somewhat fresh. when you have watched for as long as i have (basically 40 years now) this is what you do when watching. it's always how you think it would have been better. thankfully, there are still times when i watch when i think i couldn't have done that any better. when that stops, it's basically time for me to stop watching.
205 Live was excellent last night. i do like the matches they have set up for the semi-finals of the Cruiserweight tournament. Cedric Alexander vs. Roderick Strong and Drew Gulak vs. Mustafa Ali. those have the chance to be awesome.
Baskets was pretty funny last night.
Hate Thy Neighbor was really good last night. the whole show was about the border between Mexico and Arizona. it clearly showed how inept the government is. of course, none of them can be honest and just say they love cheap labor more than curbing illegal immigration.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The X-Files. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
i did watch some of the New York Yankees vs. the New York Mets this afternoon. the Mets were winning 4-1 at one point. the Yankees scored 10 runs in the last two innings to win 11-4. this could be a fun season ahead.
the New York Rangers ran into a better team last night in Winnipeg and it showed. the Rangers lost 3-0. that should bring them back down to reality. in my view, it was a good loss as i truly want them to tank the damn season and get a high draft pick. hopefully, that is what happens.
there was some blowing snow when i went out to get the paper this morning. of course, i was in a hoodie and some shorts. that cold air felt really good on my left leg. the wind was a different story though. thankfully, i had enough in the trash can and recycle bin that neither blew away.
i will be on here tomorrow after Dayton plays VCU in the A10 tournament. either i will be surprisingly happy or relieved that this damn season is finally over.
that's all for me kids.

it started raining last night and has continued on and off all damn day long. last time i checked, we were at 1.8 inches so far. i might have got 4 hours of sleep last night. and that's a very iffy might.
mom had to cancel her physical therapy this afternoon as her blood sugar spiked way higher than normal. that was a fun little scare for the day. maybe this will teach her that she needs to have some semblance of a balanced meal for breakfast each morning. the days of coffee and a roll and that's it are over. of course, i'm not sure how many times i can tell an adult what to do when she knows this shit already.
the Dayton Flyers lost last night at LaSalle 71-53. this season can't get over fast enough.
when the New York Rangers got up 3-0 last night in the first period, i was pleasantly surprised. of course, the game was tied at 3 by the middle of the second period. then it became a game of back and forth with Vancouver. eventually, the Rangers ended their losing streak and won in OT 6-5. The King had 50 saves last night. the new additions they got from Tampa and Boston looked pretty good last night. once the defense gets some experience, this team might just be able to turn things around in less than one season. at least that's what i am hoping for.
NXT was pretty good last night.
The X-Files showed exactly why i don't trust any artificial intelligence.

i was walking from the kitchen to the living room last night to shut the blinds and i could feel my left knee just absolutely give out. that was fucking fun. i didn't really hear a pop or felt anything tear, so i took it slow the rest of the night. after a glass of something strong and 5 hours of sleep, i woke up today and didn't feel any pain. i figure there's a war going on inside my body. however it turns out, i'm going to lose one way or another.
we had the power go out for a few minutes today. at least i wasn't in the fucking shower like last time.
i wrote 10 poems yesterday. that brings the total for February to 55. that's a fucking ridiculous number to be honest. of course, if i get them all published i will be fucking thrilled. i typed the 10 up last night after i got the trash out to the curb. the poems are pretty good. a few of them will be in my first round of submissions for March.
The Voice was pretty good last night.
Smackdown was pretty good last night until they had John Cena defeat AJ Styles. talk about ending a show with a bitter taste in your mouth. what a clusterfuck.
205 Live was excellent last night.
Baskets was pretty funny last night.
Hate Thy Neighbor was really good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The X-Files. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the Dayton Flyers play tonight at LaSalle. they haven't won there in 7 seasons. i highly doubt tonight will be the night that changes.
the New York Rangers play tonight in Vancouver. it will be interesting to see how some of the new players fit in. i'd love to see the Rangers tank the season and get a high draft pick.
i did watch a good portion of the New York Yankees today. they lost to Detroit 9-6. that was their first loss of spring training. i did get to see the mammoth home run Gary Sanchez hit. i saw that right before i left to go to the store.
mom had me go to the store in town to see if i could find anything we could use the strawberries we had left on. i was hoping to find something like an angel food cake like before, but i couldn't. instead i settled on a small butter pound cake, which i think will work fine. that will end up being dessert tonight.
i think there is a 90% chance of rain tomorrow. so, i'll be a cranky fucker. there's your warning.
i hope you have enjoyed the videos of the day this month. i do feel it's somewhat sad that so many people don't know shit about black history. i hope you did learn something in the videos i've posted.
i'll be on here tomorrow in the morning, before mom's last physical therapy session.

if you happened to catch Jason Kelce and his wonderful rant today at the Eagles Super Bowl victory parade, you basically saw (minus the outfit) how passionate i am about sports.
the New York Rangers lost to Boston last night 6-1. i laughed after the game and said at least they are sticking to the plan. today, i saw the team sent out a letter to the fans basically saying we're blowing it up and rebuilding. that started today with putting Brendan Smith on waivers and calling up Neal Pionk, a 22 year old defenseman from Hartford. it's about fucking time. now, hopefully the fucking coach plays him.
the Dayton Flyers played much better defense last night and had their best shooting effort in school history in the second half while beating Duquesne 88-73. that was a welcome change from the last two games. now, hopefully they can play that well at VCU on Saturday. i won't be holding my breath.
today was the NBA trade deadline. i was shocked at how many moves Cleveland made. i'm not sure what Sacramento is doing, other than shedding some salary for next season. it should make the rest of the NBA season rather interesting.
NXT was really good last night.
The X-Files was excellent last night.
Celebrity Big Brother was pretty good last night. i think it's a pretty good mix of celebrities. plus, it's only for 3 weeks, so at least i can't bitch about the show going on too long.

any longtime reader of this blog (my apologies) might remember that the last woman i fell in love with, i gave the moniker of 'the muse' to. yesterday was her birthday, so i decided to just send an email saying happy birthday, etc. etc. amazingly, and for the first time in probably 2 years, she responded to that email. that email exchange eventually evolved into a little chat last night via Google. and probably 10 minutes into that chat, she brought up some stupid shit i said in an argument we had over 2 years ago. i wonder how many times will i have to apologize for this? as you might imagine, i wrote 5 poems last night, most of which have the overall theme of never fall in love with a woman with a good memory. i typed the poems up this afternoon. they are good. those are my first poems of February. as for the muse, i doubt anything comes of our chat from yesterday. she likes to be way too secretive for my tastes. like if you tell me where you moved to i'm suddenly going to appear there. when the fuck do i travel? plus, she said she was dating, so hopefully that takes up most of her time. it would be even better if someone else stumbled into my life and became the new muse. that would solve a whole world of hurt.
Smackdown was pretty good last night.
205 Live was really good last night. the match between Roderick Strong and Hideo Itami was way better than i thought it was going to be.
Baskets was hilarious last night.
Hate Thy Neighbor was excellent last night. i do enjoy a show that points out while the children might be fuck ups, let's also look at their parents.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Boston. considering how hot the Bruins have been, i doubt the Rangers have much of a chance.
we did get a few inches of snow overnight. the guy from across the street came over with his snowblower this morning and did the sidewalks and driveway. that saved mom some money. she's on the list with this local company to have her driveway and sidewalks done anytime there is more than 2 inches of snow. i would do it, but with my bad back and arthritis, that is a recipe for disaster.
i believe the Winter Olympics start late tonight. i'm not sure how much of the Winter Olympics i'm actually going to watch this year. with no NHL players playing hockey in the Olympics, i might just become a casual viewer if at all.

The X-Files was excellent last night. this season so far is so much better than the previous season.
the season finale of Total Divas was pretty good last night.

when Manchester United got scored on 11 seconds into the game today, i almost chuckled. of course, there was a string of about 50 curses in a row instead of the laughter, but i should have known something like this was going to end this month. then Phil Jones couldn't figure out his own feet and scored on his own goal. well, fuck me, no point in watching the rest of the game. and i was truly hoping i could actually enjoy a little alcohol tonight. silly me.
Smackdown was pretty good last night.
i like the direction 205 Live is going in. a 16 man tournament to crown the new champion, with the final match being at WrestleMania. that works for me.
Baskets was pretty funny last night.
Hate Thy Neighbor was excellent last night, especially the last segment. the whole free speech debate in this country is fucking stupid. as the host put it, people have forgot how to mind their own fucking business. and since everyone thinks their opinion is more important than anything else, it's an endless cycle of bullshit.

well, the snot is no longer running down my throat. now, it is just sort of stuck around my nose. so fucking great. i'd love to break this fucking cold tonight so i could get back to everything i had planned for February. i doubt that's going to happen though.
it's been windy as fuck here today. nothing like going out to get empty trashcans going down the street in a winter coat and house shoes.

today has been a pretty busy one. tonight should be just as busy. so, here's a half ass attempt to recap what has gone on so far...
i wrote 8 poems between last night and today. i typed those up between doctor's appointments for mom. i do like a few of the poems. i'm pretty sure that puts me at over 30 poems for the month. so, that's a goal to cross off.
mom's physical therapy went well today, i guess. we went to lunch at Applebee's after that. her visit to the eye doctor went well. nothing is detached. and nothing looks any different than before. so, she just has harmless floaters in her left eye.
NXT was pretty good last night. i'm really looking forward to Takeover: Philadelphia on Saturday.
Total Divas was pretty good as well last night.
The X-Files was fucking great last night.
Mosaic was excellent last night.

the New York Rangers play tonight out in San Jose. i'm hoping they end their fucking losing streak tonight.
i woke up this morning with a bit of a sore throat. i figure i'm probably coming down with a cold. figures. i read the stories of people dying from the flu with envy. good times.
i'm going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow. that way i can watch Manchester United play in the FA Cup and then go to the grocery store and not feel like i need to rush back and get a blog done before the weekend hits.
i did go to the basketball game last night. i basically went to see the halftime act, Red Panda. i figured Dayton would lose to Davidson. well, well, well... Dayton started off much better than i expected. i thought it was going to be a great night as the asshole that normally sits next to me wasn't there by the first tv timeout. and just as i got happy, i saw the motherfucker walking with his beer up the steps. fuck me. Dayton was leading at halftime. the second half was a game of runs. sadly, i think Dayton's coach had them playing not to lose instead of trying to teach them the urgency of now. somehow Dayton got a little lucky and somehow survived a last second shot by Davidson. the shot actually should have never happened as Dayton still had 2 fouls to give. that would have eaten up the 3 seconds left rather easily. for some reason, i doubt the Dayton coach even mentioned that to his players. Dayton won 65-64. they play Saturday on the road against Saint Louis.
Smackdown was pretty good last night.
205 Live was pretty interesting last night. i'm really intrigued to see who they pick to be the GM of the show. i figure it will be a big name. that should help clean up the Enzo mess.
Mosaic was excellent last night. i can't wait to see what happens tonight.
Hate Thy Neighbor was as crazy as i expected it to be last night. i never understand why people disguise their hate as the word of god.
Baskets was pretty funny last night.
the New York Rangers lost yet again last night out in Anaheim, 6-3. they play tomorrow night in San Jose, hoping to not make it a completely fucking worthless road trip.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Mosaic, Total Divas and The X-Files. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
it's been somewhat rainy/snowy all fucking day. i fucking can't stand these dreary winter days.
mom has an eye appointment tomorrow afternoon. so it looks like i'm going to be driving her around for most of the day. physical therapy in the morning. eye appointment in the afternoon. pick up pills after that. i suppose i will try to squeeze in a blog after all that. i guess i probably should take a shower tonight.
and part of me thinks i should get the damn grocery shopping done tomorrow. but, it's also supposed to be 50 fucking degrees on Friday, so i might wait.
that's all for me kids.

whenever the doorbell rings here, i always figure it's either someone from next door or kids trying to sell shit to raise money for school. the doorbell hardly ever rings in the dead of the winter. so when it did ring this afternoon, i was curious to say the least. i opened the door and there was this black woman bundled up holding a little bottle of Dawn. in my mind, i was thinking what the fuck is this? she asked if i knew what the Dawn was for? i said yes, i use it on the dishes. full disclosure, we don't have a dishwasher in this house, so we actually do use Dawn to help clean the dishes. she then handed me the bottle and said she was going to get her boss lady so they could show us what to do. in my head, i'm thinking, i'm 41 years old. i'm pretty fucking sure i know how to clean dishes. she went down to the end of the driveway and yelled across the street. i saw some white lady jumping into her SUV to come over. i simply shut the door and locked it. i didn't bother to open it back up when they rang the doorbell again. i got the Dawn and they didn't get to see what is inside this house. i'm going to take that as a win for me. eventually, they left and god knows where they went next. they certainly weren't still in the neighborhood when i went out to get the mail. so, i can't imagine they are pissed about the bottle of Dawn. it's the type of bottle you get in the dollar stores.
i did a little poetry work last night and i believe i know where my next 25 poems are going to go. if i get my ass in gear in the morning, they will go out tomorrow. this also means i will have to make a stop at the post office before i go to the grocery store. at least it's supposed to be warmer tomorrow.
the Dayton Flyers started off well last night but forgot that you actually need to play defense to win unless you're just going to score on every possession. sadly, Dayton went cold from 3 and sure enough, St. Joe's pulled ahead and stayed there for the rest of the game. it got so bad that Dayton's coach started playing the walk-ons with 7 minutes to go in the game. and when one walk-on scores more points than 3 regulars combined, you know it was a shitty game. St. Joe's won 81- 65. Dayton plays again on Saturday afternoon at home against Rhode Island. as of right now, i'm going to the game with my sister. i'm almost hoping she doesn't want to go so then i have an excuse to just watch them get killed on television.
NXT was pretty good last night.
Total Divas was pretty good as well last night.
The X-Files was fucking nuts last night.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Buffalo. hopefully the Rangers can get another win before they start their long ass road trip.
i think it's supposed to get damn near 50 degrees by my birthday on Sunday. that should melt the snow and probably get everyone sick as well. good times.
i will probably be on here tomorrow when i get back from the grocery store.
