try sleeping during a tornado watch...

i think i got close to 4 hours last night. probably a little over 3 is more likely, but i did feel like i got some sleep when i got up this morning. i got up right before the thunderstorms were going to pound us. the tornado watch has expired but we now have a high wind advisory until tomorrow morning.

the Dayton Flyers pissed away a lead late last night and lost against St. Joe's in overtime, 73-68. that means Dayton will once again miss the NCAA tournament. but, i'm guessing they will get an invite to the NIT, which i wish they would turn down as that should be beneath at this point.

Smackdown was excellent last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

a big thank you to everyone that checked out my latest published poems:

bad times don't last, but bad guys do...

i was absolutely gutted last night to learn of Scott Hall's death. i can remember him back in the AWA when i was a kid. i loved him as Razor Ramon in WWE. and honestly, the work he did in the NWO changed pro wrestling forever. Scott had one of the greatest minds for the business. he will be dearly missed. thanks for all the great memories.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

Better Things was very good last night.

i did write 3 poems yesterday, including my first war poem about Russia invading Ukraine.

the joys of NyQuil...

i found some NyQuil last night and i actually got some decent sleep. of course, i was in a fog until this afternoon.

i did watch that UFC event yesterday from Brazil. other than that, i think i watched a ton of Maine Cabin Masters and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. i can tell you that i'm going to lose my mind without any sports pretty quickly.

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Batwoman, Westworld, the season finale of Avenue 5, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Last Week Tonight, Our Cartoon President, Axios, Homeland and two episodes of Black Monday.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get back from my doctor's appointment.

the governor is closing all the bars and restaurants here. i said when this all started that within a week we'll be chained in our homes.

my first load of laundry just got done in the dryer, so that's all for me kids.

i hope your Saturday was good. i hope your Sunday has been better.

welcome to the days where college basketball runs my life...

i told my mother this morning that i filled out a bracket but didn't enter any contests. this will be the year where i probably only miss 2 or 3 games.

i started the day off getting the first 3 games right, so...

the First Four games last night weren't as good as the games on Tuesday. Texas Southern defeated NC Central 64-46. the game didn't feel even that close for most of it. i did get a high school feel from the game as NC Central had one white player on the team. that sums up my basketball life for the most part. plus, the cheerleaders certainly reminded me of my time at a black high school as well. i'm sure those dirty thoughts will end up in some poems soon. the battle of the bands stunk as it was completely unorganized and a clusterfuck for the most part. in the second game, Syracuse defeated Arizona State 60-56. mom wanted to leave before the game was over, so i didn't get to see the last 2 minutes or so. i had the game on in the car. i think she wanted to leave early so she didn't have to sit in traffic like the night before. one of the things i pride myself in is never leaving early. so, i was clearly pissed. i was actually hoping the game would go into OT so i could really be an asshole about it.

Waffle House was a little better last night than the night before. amazingly, the meal i got was less greasy than the night before, even though it probably shouldn't have been. of course, mom ordered too much food and started putting shit on my plate. i wonder how i got fat?

The X-Files were pretty fucking creepy last night. the season finale looks like it should be pretty damn good next week.

NXT was really good last night. i'd love to see Adam Cole and Pete Dunne fight forever.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Gotham, Will & Grace, Lip Sync Battle and Atlanta.

i'm sure i will be watching plenty of college basketball tonight as well.

the New York Rangers came from behind last night and defeated Pittsburgh 4-3 in OT. to say i was shocked when i got home and saw the highlights would be an understatement. this team can't even fucking tank the season correctly.

i see the Yankees won this afternoon over the Pirates 9-5. looks like i'll be drinking tonight.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this afternoon. you can find that by going here: https://soundcloud.com/srwrestling/srw-177-wade-keller-the-build

i will be on here tomorrow, probably sometime after a trip to the grocery store.

the ides of March

i was completely fucking drained by the time i got home last night. it wasn't from the basketball games. it was from the over 20 minutes it took to get out of the parking lot. i have no fucking clue which group of stupid fucks were running that last night, but i surely hope it's better tonight.

as for the basketball games, i enjoyed both of them. in the first game, i was rooting for New Orleans, mostly because of my love for the Saints. but, it's hard for a team to win when their best player ends up choking a teammate as they are trying to come back in the second half. Mount St. Mary's won 67-66.

in the second game, Kansas State defeated Wake Forest 95-88. i was rooting for Wake Forest as i'm a huge Danny Manning fan from my youth. he won me some money when i was in the 6th grade when Kansas beat Oklahoma for the national championship.

tonight the games will be NC Central vs. UC Davis and Providence vs. USC. i hope the people from California are enjoying the snow and cold weather.

i enjoyed a couple of the performances on The Voice last night.
the teams are now complete, so now it's off to the battle rounds.

Smackdown was excellent last night. i loved the beating that AJ Styles gave Shane McMahon. that sets up their WrestleMania match quite nicely.

205 Live was pretty good last night as well. Austin Aries vs. Neville at WrestleMania will be a candidate to steal the show.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll watch NXT on WWE Network when i get home tonight from the basketball games.

i did listen to the latest Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Podcast. you can find that by going here:

i heard back from Easy Street on my poetry submission from last week. they passed on the poems i sent, but encouraged me to send some more. i certainly will as Cami does a wonderful job actually explaining why the poems were rejected. i will respect the living shit out of any editor/publisher that takes the time to do that.

i will probably be on here tomorrow sometime after Manchester United plays in the Europa League.

i need to get going, so that's all for today.

let the madness begin

the next couple of days will be a blur for me. 4 basketball games and not much sleep at the age of 40 isn't exactly the recipe for success. but i'm really hoping these First Four games this year are worth it.

tonight will be Fairleigh Dickinson vs. Florida Gulf Coast and after that it will be Vanderbilt vs. Wichita State. that nightcap could be an instant classic, especially if they are making shots. it looks like both nights are going to be sell outs.

so i will probably be on here tomorrow morning with a review of the games and whining about the lack of sleep.

The Voice last night was good. i'm amazed that the coaches put two great singers against each other in the battle rounds. it doesn't make any sense, especially with the battle round that ended last night's show. here is one of better last ones from the blind auditions.

Gotham was amazing last night. the show gets better each week.

Monday Night Raw was good and had some great moments. the match between Dolph Ziggler and HHH was great. the return of Roman Reigns to beat the shit out of HHH was exactly how they should use Roman. the only thing i didn't like last night was Neville getting injured in his match with Chris Jericho. he tried a baseball slide and his boot kind of got caught on the mat which caused him to break his ankle and most likely his shin bone. amazingly, he did a damn kick with the bad leg after he broke the ankle. that goes along with my strongly held belief that pro wrestlers are a different breed of human.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Total Divas. i figure i'll watch all that when i get home from the games tonight. i figure the second game will go late, so it will be food at Waffle House as that will be the only thing open in Brookville that late.

i got some great music for FREE yesterday on NoiseTrade. apparently i got it on the last day it was available. i love me some good luck.

i need to get going. i have dishes to put away and trash to pick up. plus, we have to go next door and get their trash and recyclables picked up because it will be too late to do it when we get home from the games.

if you contact me in the next couple of days and i don't get back to you immediately, i'm not ignoring you. i'm either sleeping or catching up with other emails.

i hope this finds everyone hoping to win some money on college basketball in the next few weeks.

maybe the weekend will be better

yesterday was not a good sporting day for me. spent the afternoon watching the Dayton Flyers lose to Butler. they did what they have done all season, tease. play good, get some rebounds, get some stops, get a lead, make stupid turnovers, quit playing smart defense, panic when the lead goes away, dig out of the hole, rinse, repeat, lose. a fitting end to one fucking frustrating season. 17-14. one less win than i thought they would have after watching the first few weeks of the season. well, hopefully next year will be better, regardless of what conference they are in.

after dinner and The Big Bang Theory, i sat down to watch the New York Rangers. yet another lifeless game where they couldn't capitalize on any chances in what was basically a playoff game in Winnipeg.

that went off just in time to flip over and watch team USA lose in the World Baseball Classic.

as you could imagine, i was a little less than pleased when i went to bed last night. thankfully, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has been pretty damn good all week. that has helped get rid of some of the tension at least.

i woke up this morning to 3 deer walking across the front field. it was just light enough that i could see them. i doubt my camera would have been able to get them. hopefully one day i'll have the damn thing on me when i see some wildlife out here.

at least the New York Yankees won a meaningless spring training game this afternoon. no victory beers for that though.

as for the weekend, tomorrow will be a double dipper of the Rangers playing in Pittsburgh and Manchester United playing a classic trap game against Reading. both are on at the same time basically. i get the feeling i'll be watching United more to begin with. if both lose, this weekend will be a little hard to escape a complete shit storm. so, hopefully one will win at the very least.

i've got to come up with a little money to get some poems out. i figure i will be selling off some music, if the truck gets me to the music store. fingers will be crossed for the next few days. for the truck and for the weather. at least it made it to the 40's finally. of course, there might be snow on St. Patrick's Day.

also on the 17th is Selection Sunday. i'll get to find out which teams i'll be watching in person over the next week at the UD Arena. hopefully some good ones with some decent fan bases. or some rivals would be nice as well. any emotion makes the games pretty fun. especially when you're only rooting interest is whatever your bracket is. i'm going to win a damn bracket challenge sometime before i die. and by the looks of things, i better get to it quickly.

hope everyone has a great weekend. be safe and enjoy the alcohol.
