welcome to the weekend...

i just love when it's May and there is still a frost warning. the joys of climate change. it is either hot or cold, nothing else.

i did go through my poems last night. i need to do some more writing.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

A Black Lady Sketch Show was great last night.

the Yankees were going good last night until their bullpen shit the bed. the Nationals won 11-4. hopefully, the Yankees will bounce back today.

i need to start going to bed before the sun comes up...

i'm back into my burning the candle at both ends habit once again. getting up after 4 hours of "sleep" and having to go to McDonald's because mom wanted some breakfast was a fucking joy this morning. and the nap i got this afternoon wasn't more than 20 minutes or so before another lawn mower started going in the neighborhood. joy.

the New York Yankees came from behind last night to defeat Seattle, 5-4. nothing like a nice 3 run bottom of the 9th to energize the soul. hopefully they will win again tonight.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

it was criminal who got sent home last night on The Voice. Jej Vinson was easily my favorite singer on the show. the fact that he didn't even get to compete for the final spot of the semi-finals is mind boggling. of course, i tend to forget about the racism in this country when it comes to this shit.

Smackdown was better than Raw last night, but that's not saying much.

205 Live was pretty good last night.

Miz & Mrs. was hilarious last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was great last night.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, What We Do in the Shadows and Dark Side of the Ring. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network. i watched NXT UK this afternoon, it was really good.

i do plan on watching a good amount of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight, especially Game 7 between Colorado and San Jose.

i did do a little poetry work this afternoon. i know where my next 16 poems will be going. i'm going to try to get those out tomorrow morning.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after i get that done.

so the Champions League final is going to be Tottenham vs. Liverpool. i know who i will be rooting for.

that's all for me today. the bones are a little achy, i believe it's supposed to rain tomorrow.

if only the game ended 30 seconds sooner...

i almost got up on time this morning. i saw the clock at 7 AM. i decided to stay in bed as Manchester United hasn't won at Chelsea in years. i started watching the game in the second half. i was really, really happy when Anthony Martial scored his second goal of the game to put United up 2-1. of course, Chelsea scored in the 96th minute to end the game in a 2-2 draw. United was 30 seconds away from their first win at Chelsea in 6 years. now, do i take the positive that United got a point out of the game or do i dwell on the fact that United came oh so fucking close to a huge victory. fuck, i know me. i'll have a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the day.

NJPW was pretty good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was the anniversary special last night. it was really good.

Pod Save America was excellent last night.

i did watch some NBA last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Austin City Limits.

Ohio State plays tonight at Purdue. i am pretty worried about this game. it has trap game written all over it.

mom wants to go out shopping today. after i get this done, i think we're going. she wants some Halloween decorations i guess. i'm not sure why she didn't look at Dollar Tree when we were there this past Monday. oh well.

i know there is a Game 7 tonight between the Dodgers and Brewers. i will probably watch some of that tonight.

i will probably be on here tomorrow sometime before the Saints play at the Ravens tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

when genius strikes

so you can just imagine the poem when i notice a woman with down syndrome picking her nose while an elderly couple is arguing and i'm thinking of killing myself. welcome to my afternoon in the waiting room at the doctor's office. of course, i got mom there early and nearly 20 minutes after the appointment was scheduled to start, she finally got called to the back. apparently her doctor's nurse was off today and the other dimwits in the office forgot that mom was there.

i missed probably the first 30 minutes of Manchester United vs. Real Madrid today in the UEFA Super Cup. United didn't look like they kicked into gear until they went down 2-0. sadly, they could never find the quality to score the equalizer and lost 2-1. oh well. hopefully they have another signing before the silly season ends and have a great campaign in the Premier League.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night. i don't think i'll ever get tired of watching Braun Strowman beat up Roman Reigns. or Samoa Joe attacking Roman from behind. plus, i love the slow burn the writers are doing with a possible Shield reunion. brilliant stuff there. all in all, an excellent show last night.

Brillo Box (3 cents off) was really good last night. it was almost a little pop art education for anyone who only knows Andy Warhol from that scene and no one else.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Hard Knocks, Deadliest Catch and The Jim Jefferies Show. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Yankees start a series tonight at Toronto. hopefully they win as i would like to drink.

i figure i will send out some poems tomorrow morning. i will probably do the blog after that most likely.

i have plenty of trash to pick up and for some reason mom dirtied nearly every dish in the house on Sunday and just let them sit. so, you know who gets to do dishes this evening. let's just say the music will be loud and i will have every fucking cuss word on the tip of my motherfucking tongue.

i got a random email from my first girlfriend today. let's just say i hope beyond hope that leads to something.

the ides of March

i was completely fucking drained by the time i got home last night. it wasn't from the basketball games. it was from the over 20 minutes it took to get out of the parking lot. i have no fucking clue which group of stupid fucks were running that last night, but i surely hope it's better tonight.

as for the basketball games, i enjoyed both of them. in the first game, i was rooting for New Orleans, mostly because of my love for the Saints. but, it's hard for a team to win when their best player ends up choking a teammate as they are trying to come back in the second half. Mount St. Mary's won 67-66.

in the second game, Kansas State defeated Wake Forest 95-88. i was rooting for Wake Forest as i'm a huge Danny Manning fan from my youth. he won me some money when i was in the 6th grade when Kansas beat Oklahoma for the national championship.

tonight the games will be NC Central vs. UC Davis and Providence vs. USC. i hope the people from California are enjoying the snow and cold weather.

i enjoyed a couple of the performances on The Voice last night.
the teams are now complete, so now it's off to the battle rounds.

Smackdown was excellent last night. i loved the beating that AJ Styles gave Shane McMahon. that sets up their WrestleMania match quite nicely.

205 Live was pretty good last night as well. Austin Aries vs. Neville at WrestleMania will be a candidate to steal the show.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll watch NXT on WWE Network when i get home tonight from the basketball games.

i did listen to the latest Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Podcast. you can find that by going here:

i heard back from Easy Street on my poetry submission from last week. they passed on the poems i sent, but encouraged me to send some more. i certainly will as Cami does a wonderful job actually explaining why the poems were rejected. i will respect the living shit out of any editor/publisher that takes the time to do that.

i will probably be on here tomorrow sometime after Manchester United plays in the Europa League.

i need to get going, so that's all for today.

doom and gloom

the sun decided to take the day off here, so it has been nothing but a little rain and clouds all day long. just another day of misery for me.

the plumbers showed up this morning to put a new whole house water filter in, put in new parts for the old toilet, and put in a new well pump. amazingly, it was all done for under $2,000. now, the fun was holding a shit until we got water back on. i knew i should have woke up earlier this morning. but, it seems to be all working now. hopefully it stays that way until we move from here. mom is just sure the water heater will be the next to go. i, on the other hand, just want to get my laundry done tomorrow.

talked to the dream woman a little bit this morning. we're trying to figure out when to meet. not easy when i'm poor and she insists on me paying for part of her ticket. of course, and she lives in Alaska. i once joked with my mother that i'm only here for the amusement of god. i believe this is further proof.

the Yankees lost last night 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth. they can't win the division any longer and both wild cards are illusions at this point. the rest of this season will simply be to watch the final games of Derek Jeter.

Monday Night Raw was a bit of hit and miss for me last night, sadly with more on the miss side. not sure that was the show you should put together right before the next PPV.

the football game last night was pretty good. it would have been even better if i would have started the running back from the Eagles that went off last night for over 20 fantasy points. it wouldn't have made a difference for me, but losing by 20 is much better than losing by 46.

if my luck in fantasy football keeps going this way, this may be the first season in all my years of playing that i finish in last place. i'm way too competitive to just let that happen, but sometimes it just isn't your season.

looking forward to Big Brother tonight. hopefully i get to see a fucking sociopath get evicted.

it was a little difficult watching the Champions League today knowing that Manchester United is not a part of it this season. well, it does give me something to take an afternoon nap to.

i forgot one thing from my yesterday bitch fest, DIRECTV changed their Sunday Ticket package on me. so, no more Red Zone Channel for me as i refuse to pay an extra $18 a month for something i got for FREE for the last 10 years. so, i'll be watching the Game Mix Channel, which has 8 games on it at a time. talk about speeding up my descent into madness.

got some good music on NoiseTrade today. i'll provide the link below.

that is all for me today. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

and then the rains came...

my back tensed up in the morning yesterday, so i knew rain was on the way. sadly, the rain didn't get here until late at night. talk about a day of agony. and now i'm going to unload it on all 3 of you who read this. my apologies.

the Yankees lost yesterday, 6-4. they reverted back to the mistake filled first half of the season. a tad bit frustrating as they lost a chance to move up in the division as well. they will play this afternoon, needing a win to win the series and finish the homestand on a good note.

i figure i might check out some of the Baseball Hall of Fame inductions today. mostly, i want to see Joe Torre. the former Yankees manager certainly brought me tremendous joy in the late 90's.

Manchester United beat Roma, 3-2. they really only played a good 15 minutes. Wayne Rooney scored 2 goals and had an assist during those 15 minutes. LvG changed all but 2 players at halftime. the second half was mostly United hanging on for dear life. but, i'll gladly take a win. plus, it gives LvG plenty to bitch about and teachable moments for the squad to learn from. they next play on Tuesday against Inter Milan.

i did enjoy most of the UFC on FOX last night. with storms in the area, the local broadcast kept cutting in. the only reason i was pissed is none of the storms were actually local. they were mostly in areas that don't even watch FOX. but, at least i got to see the main event without any interruptions.

today is trash day at the farm. i figure i will do most of that once i get done with this. i have no idea when i'm taking the trash down to the road. i guess i need to check when it is going to storm today.

ROH was really good last night. if you love tag team wrestling, i highly recommend this episode.

another busy night of television is in store for me tonight. Big Brother, Ray Donovan, The Strain, Last Week Tonight, and Masters of Sex. and with any luck, i'll be able to get to bed before 2 in the morning.

i need to get the dishes done today as well. that will be fun with my body in pain. good times.

that's all for me today. i need to get my ass going. hope everyone is well. hopefully your Saturday night wasn't spent praying to the porcelain gods.

be well. be creative. be eager to send me cash. be cool.

the end of a lazy weekend

i was fucking around on iTunes last night, just trying to find some music i might have missed. and then i stumbled on some Martha Wainwright that i hadn't heard before. needless to say, i've been playing that EP to death since last night.

and when i get on the singer/songwriter kick, there will be some poems coming.

the Yankees lost yesterday. in true 2014 Yankee fashion, they lost 2-1 on a throwing error in the bottom of the 11th. just when i think this team is turning the corner they revert back like the chickenshits they are. they finish the series in Minnesota today. i couldn't care less what happens at this point.

the World Cup games were pretty damn good yesterday. Argentina beat Belgium 1-0. first time Argentina has made the semifinals in 24 years. the Netherlands beat Costa Rica on penalty kicks, 4-3. i was thinking Louis van Gaal was nuts for changing goalies right before the end of the game. turns out, the man is a fucking genius. i can't wait until he takes over at Manchester United.

that sets up a final four in the World Cup of Brazil vs. Germany and Netherlands vs. Argentina. four of the biggest and best teams in the world. should be great.

i watched another great episode of ROH last night. would love to see that company take the next step and start to really challenge the WWE.

if the tennis match is still going when i get done with this, i imagine i'll watch some of that as i'm picking up the trash. it's started to rain here, so i'll take my damn time. also, the rained out NASCAR race from yesterday starts soon. i imagine i'll watch some of that as well.

tonight will be a new episode of Big Brother and a new episode of The Leftovers.

had some damn good BBQ from this local food truck yesterday. holy shit it was good. i'm a sucker for some good brisket.

i geeked out when i saw Pink Floyd is putting out a new album. that was a pleasant way to start my day.

that's all for me today kids. i better get started on my "chores" before the weather gets too damn bad. hope everyone has a great end of the weekend.

be well. be creative. be a beacon of hope in the land of darkness. and then be the dirty fucker that likes to play evil games.
