not exactly the day i want to be sick on...

but given that the second coming of the plague has most everything closed and people stuck inside...

i did have to go out today and get some shit. i needed some Sudafed and of course the pharmacy at Kroger was all out of the strong shit. figures. i got most of everything mom had on the grocery list. and i kept it under $100.

i did send out 11 poems today; 6 to Record Magazine and 5 to Synchronized Chaos. when i hear back from those places i will pass along the verdicts.

i guess i should say thank you to Tom Brady for breaking the internet this morning.

the New Orleans Saints did get Drew Brees signed today. hopefully in these next 2 years a Super Bowl win will be coming to Bourbon Street.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

The Voice last night was good.

The Plot Against America was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight.

i did record Black Panther last night, so i might end up watching that tonight.

i need to get the trash picked up, so that's all for me kids.

i'm draining snot like there's no tomorrow, so i'm coughing like i started smoking 2 cartons a day again.

good times.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

have a good one. stay healthy.

spent last night with the third eye open...

i didn't get to bed until 6 this morning. as much as i wanted to be celebrating the Yankees finally winning another division title, last night was more of a poetic depth plunge into my darkness. i find as a poet i often have to hang out with my demons to gain a better understanding of how to effectively use them in this fucking world. now, what usually happens is i will have a poetry dump here in the next couple days where 10 or 15 poems will appear out of nowhere. and with the doctor visits coming up, i should have the time.

the New York Yankees won last night over the Angels, 9-1. it was their 100th win of the season and it clinched the American League East for the first time since 2012. Aaron Boone became the first manager to win 100 games in both of his first two seasons as a manager. the Yankees start their final series at home before the playoffs tonight against Toronto.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. Michie voted out Cliff. Michie won the first HOH of the final 3. he will face the winner of Nicole vs. Holly in the final HOH of the season.

Mr InBetween was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Real Time with Bill Maher, Room 104, Murder in the Bayou and AAA Presents Lucha Invades NY.

the New York Rangers are playing tonight at the Devils. i might watch some of that.

the grocery store was a zoo today. the line for the gas station was out to the street, so i had to get gas after i got the groceries. of course, it was only like 88 degrees today. thankfully, i didn't buy any frozen shit today. between gas, and both grocery stores, i think i spent a little over $110. in my mind, that's a win.

i will be on here tomorrow before Ohio State plays in the afternoon.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

until tomorrow kids...

while i should have been asleep...

i mailed out 9 poems this morning. as in morning, i mean having a creative outburst around 3 in the morning. i sent 4 to Hobo Camp Review and 5 to The Writing Disorder. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

the New York Yankees won last night over Toronto, 4-3. they hit 4 solo home runs, which set the new MLB record for consecutive games with a home run. hopefully, they will get the sweep this afternoon.

in Gold Cup action last night, Jamaica and Curacao finished 1-1 and Honduras knocked out El Salvador 4-0. tonight, Trinidad & Tobago take on Guyana and Panama and the USA will face each other to see who wins the group. the winner takes on Curacao in the start of the knockout rounds.

the Women's World Cup has reached the final 8. tomorrow, Norway takes on England. on Friday, France plays the USA. and on Saturday, Italy plays the Netherlands and Germany takes on Sweden.

Smackdown was pretty good last night, as was 205 Live.

Deadliest Catch was crazy last night.

Songland was very good last night.

Big Brother was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, True Justice: Bryan Stevenson's Fight For Equality, Big Brother and two episodes of The Wrestlers. i'll watch NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i forgot how backwards the city i live in is on my drive to the post office this morning. nothing quite like seeing someone proudly putting up their confederate flag. the ignorance in this town makes no fucking sense to me.

i go to the doctor tomorrow afternoon. i'm sure i will be told i need to go back on the one medication or be given a new medication as my blood sugar numbers have completely gone to shit. i will probably be back on here after that tomorrow. joy.

the feels like temperature was already to 90 before noon today. so yeah, i'll most likely be indoors for most of the rest of the day.

when genius strikes

so you can just imagine the poem when i notice a woman with down syndrome picking her nose while an elderly couple is arguing and i'm thinking of killing myself. welcome to my afternoon in the waiting room at the doctor's office. of course, i got mom there early and nearly 20 minutes after the appointment was scheduled to start, she finally got called to the back. apparently her doctor's nurse was off today and the other dimwits in the office forgot that mom was there.

i missed probably the first 30 minutes of Manchester United vs. Real Madrid today in the UEFA Super Cup. United didn't look like they kicked into gear until they went down 2-0. sadly, they could never find the quality to score the equalizer and lost 2-1. oh well. hopefully they have another signing before the silly season ends and have a great campaign in the Premier League.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night. i don't think i'll ever get tired of watching Braun Strowman beat up Roman Reigns. or Samoa Joe attacking Roman from behind. plus, i love the slow burn the writers are doing with a possible Shield reunion. brilliant stuff there. all in all, an excellent show last night.

Brillo Box (3 cents off) was really good last night. it was almost a little pop art education for anyone who only knows Andy Warhol from that scene and no one else.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Hard Knocks, Deadliest Catch and The Jim Jefferies Show. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Yankees start a series tonight at Toronto. hopefully they win as i would like to drink.

i figure i will send out some poems tomorrow morning. i will probably do the blog after that most likely.

i have plenty of trash to pick up and for some reason mom dirtied nearly every dish in the house on Sunday and just let them sit. so, you know who gets to do dishes this evening. let's just say the music will be loud and i will have every fucking cuss word on the tip of my motherfucking tongue.

i got a random email from my first girlfriend today. let's just say i hope beyond hope that leads to something.

so much still to do

i've got about a million things i want to get done before i have to take my mother to her physical therapy today. a shower, a shave and a trip to the bank are at the top of the list.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 5-3.  they are 45-41 at the All Star break. i remember when they used to be 15 games over .500. oh well. i will probably watch some of the Home Run Derby tonight, just to see Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez.

WWE Great Balls of Fire was excellent last night. it looked like it was going to be a good one on paper and for the first time in a long time, it was better. the ambulance match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman was great. hopefully it was the double turn that all of us older fans thought it was. Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar was pretty good, even though i was hoping Joe was going to do a little more damage in the match. the tag team title iron man match was way better than it should have been. all in all, i really have no complaints.

part 1 of The Defiant Ones last night on HBO was excellent. even though i knew most of it, it was great to see some of the old footage of Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. hopefully part 2 tonight is just as good.

Big Brother was pretty funny last night. i think Cody knows he's dead man walking.

Power was great last night. next week's episode looks to be even better.

Twin Peaks was fucking crazy once again last night. i love just how surreal this show is.

I'm Dying Up Here was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Defiant Ones, Part 2. i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i see that Manchester United has made it official. they have signed Romelu Lukaku. hopefully he continues to score goals like he did at Everton.

that's all for me kids. i'm sure i'll have stories to share tomorrow after the bank and physical therapy. i hope everyone had a great weekend.

how i just love having a bad back

nothing like going from Spring back to Winter in a span of a few hours. the wind today has been fucking horrible. add a little rain with that and it fucking feels like it is 20 degrees outside. you can imagine just how my back felt as i was walking around the grocery store. horrific. i did make a stop in the liquor store while i was there. i decided i earned it. a little spiced rum and some Wild Turkey i have never seen before.

i sent out 8 poems today; 5 to Synchronized Chaos and 3 to Winedrunk Sidewalk. when i hear back from John on the poems i sent to Winedrunk, i'll pass on the verdict.

NXT was pretty good last night.

Total Divas was funny last night, mostly because of how long ago all the footage was shot.

the New York Yankees lost last night 4-1. oh well. they start a series tomorrow in Baltimore.

the New York Rangers rested six regulars last night and lost to Washington 2-0. the Rangers are set to play Montreal in the first round of the playoffs.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory and Life in Pieces.

you take the good with the bad...

i'm the kind of asshole that always starts with the bad news.

i knew Manchester United was up against it today given injuries and a suspension. then, i saw who the fuck was the referee today. Michael Oliver. i told my mom right before the game started, i guarantee that fucker will fuck over United somehow. sure enough. he sent Ander Herrera off in the first half for his second yellow card. honestly, i don't think either foul should have been given a card. but, it was against Eden Hazard, so lord knows he had to be carded. of course, Chelsea scored in the second half against a 10 man United and won the game 1-0. so, that ends Manchester United's run as FA Cup champions. and now Herrera will get a 2 game suspension for the red card. makes me wish for the days when bad officiating had to fear for their lives. oh well.

so, now the good news.

the Dayton Flyers got a 7 seed for the NCAA tournament. i was completely fucking shocked. i was expecting maybe at best a 9 seed. of course, their reward for that 7 seed is playing against a Wichita State team that should be a 5 or 6 seed. Dayton is already a 6 point underdog for the game. at least it's being played in Indianapolis. there should be plenty of Dayton fans there. luckily, the game is at night, so i'll actually get to watch it. that Friday is the day i have to go with mom for the surgery class and all her pre-operation testing. oh joy.

the New York Rangers won at Detroit last night, 4-1. that was a good way to finish off the road trip. they are back at home tonight to face Tampa Bay.

i missed being in the top 4 of my fantasy hockey playoffs by a 1 1/2 games. talk about being fucking pissed. if i would have been in the other division, i would have won the division by almost 20 games. fuck.

Big Little Lies was excellent last night.

Girls was great once again.

Crashing was really funny last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant once again.

Homeland was amazing last night. yet another holy shit ending.

Billions was pretty good last night.

Feud: Bette and Joan was fucking great last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Cries from Syria. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening. and maybe some hockey.

i'll probably be on here early tomorrow as i'll be going (weather permitting) to the First Four games at UD Arena.

the grocery store was exactly as i expected yesterday. it was like the end of the world was approaching. i was amazed i was able to find what was on the fucking list.

what a time to be alive

so i was busy watching the Sunday night shows when i overhead mom say, you're shitting me, while she was watching the Oscars. i laughed and asked what was going on and she said probably the greatest fuck up on live television i have ever seen. i watched it later online and completely understood. i feel bad for everyone involved, especially the people involved with Moonlight. it figures that a black movie would get their moment stole from them, even if it was for just a few minutes. as i heard someone mention this morning, think if they would have said Moonlight was the winner and then awarded it to La La Land. at least the accounting firm admitted they fucked up today and took full responsibility for it. well, i guess that's one way to get people talking about the Oscars again...

the New York Rangers lost yesterday to Columbus 5-2. it was a good loss actually, as it put the Rangers back into the top wildcard spot. that's exactly where they want to be so they can avoid all the teams in their division until later in the playoffs.

Homeland was excellent last night. it had a wonderful holy shit ending once again.

Billions was really good last night.

Big Little Lies was great last night. the show is so well acted it's crazy.

Girls was amazingly great last night. it might have been the best episode of the show ever.

Crashing was pretty funny last night. it was great to see Gina Gershon again.

Last Week Tonight was awesome, as usual.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be: Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Hate Thy Neighbor. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did a little poetry work today. i'll probably be sending out 10 poems tomorrow morning.

now that mom is up from her afternoon nap (i think she's getting sick with what i had last week), i need to go vacuum the house and clean some toilets.

the eve of something

so i woke up this morning with a splitting headache and a nuclear arms race starting back up. oh goody.

the Dayton Flyers did a decent job last night keeping my mind off of the pain i was in. they had 7 players score in double figures last night as they easily crushed VMI 92-56. Scoochie Smith got his 1,000th point last night and the team tied the school record with 15 3 pointers. they did all this with their best player, Charles Cooke, sitting out with a wrist injury. hopefully that will be better by the time the A-10 schedule starts on December 30th against La Salle.

i got home to find out the New York Rangers got beat by Minnesota 7-4. that's two straight games the Rangers have given up 7 goals. not fucking good. maybe the Christmas break is coming at the right time.

of course, it's a bizarre world when the Columbus Blue Jackets have the most points in the NHL at the Christmas break.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows. i can't wait for it to come back in 2017.

the New Orleans Saints play today at home against Tampa Bay. there is a small sliver of a chance for the Saints to make the playoffs. hopefully that chance still exists when they play today. i would love to see them win and basically screw up any chance for Tampa to make the playoffs.

i'm not sure what i'm doing this evening. usually my sister and i watch a movie on Christmas Eve. i think our new tradition is going to be the movie The Night Before. either that, or i might try the Westworld finale.

i hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Eve. if you're shopping, good luck. if you're traveling, stay safe. if you're drinking, welcome aboard.

i hate my family just enough that i will probably be on here at some point tomorrow. as for now, i have a garage to rearrange. hopefully i will get that done before the Saints play.

i just love hate mail, but...

ANY feedback i get from people, i love. be it great, bad, hateful, whatever... the worst thing any artist (did i just go there with myself?) can get in response to their work is indifference. now, i wish i got more praise than i currently get, but... the hate mail never gets old. and honestly, i don't give a shit if you hate my writing, hate me as a person, hate my music or hate my political views... all of that is fair game. but, don't make the mistake the cunt from yesterday made and include my family in it. if you EVER really want to see someone gleefully walk that line of insanity, cross the line that never should be crossed. and trust me, as my mother pointed out years ago, i'm fine with a cot and 3 meals a day. when i tell everyone i write so i don't kill people, they tend to think i'm joking. there are moments in my life, and yesterday was one of them, where no one would ever want to see how close to the truth my "joke" really is. there's your warning.

the New York Rangers lost last night to Buffalo 4-3. it was the first game all season they lost when entering the 3rd period with a lead. hopefully they will use the game as a wake up call. they play Carolina again tomorrow.

The Big Bang Theory was excellent last night.

Life in Pieces was fucking hysterical last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, 2 episodes of NJPW and a concert/interview with Fitz and The Tantrums.

today was the second day in a row with no sun at all. i had to get out of the house this afternoon or i felt like i was going to explode. thankfully, i had a check that i needed to deposit and mom had mail to go out. that got me out of the house for at least 30 minutes. thankfully, i get to go out for longer than that tomorrow.

i'll be at the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow afternoon against Winthrop.

i will probably do a blog after i get home from the game. Saturday morning will be back to back soccer matches; Manchester City vs. Chelsea and then Real Madrid vs. Barcelona. right after those get over, it's off to the basketball game.

it's just another day to me

i've promised myself i won't write any i'm alone again on Valentine's Day poems this year. thankfully, the weather has turned to shit, so i can always write about that.

i'm running on not much sleep at the moment and i'm truly dreading the -20 with the windchill temps that are coming this way.

the hockey game last night in Columbus was great. it's always fun to watch a couple of ex-New York Rangers find a way to beat the fucking Philadelphia Flyers. the Flyers blew a 3-1 lead in the 3rd period to lose 4-3 in OT. that loss helped me flip the stats in my fantasy hockey this week. all in all, a pretty good evening.

mom and i went out to Waffle House when we got back into town and it might have been the worst service i have EVER received at any restaurant in my life. we sat for 20 minutes before we even got asked what we wanted to drink. and then the food i ordered was almost cooked completely. almost. needless to say, i'll probably have a poem about that experience written soon.

i didn't watch Treehouse Masters or NJPW last night. i tried to get some sleep. i might have got about 4 hours.

when i got up this morning i remembered i didn't check my email last night. thankfully i had less than 100 emails to get through this morning. i fed the cats and told them i'll be on dead cat detail tomorrow morning as i'm sure one of them dumb fucks will freeze to death overnight. the snow isn't bad. the wind is ferocious. it's already blown the barn doors open and knocked some of the wood off of one of the barns. good times. i'll be sleeping by a heater tonight that's for sure.

the Dayton Flyers somehow beat St. Bonaventure today 75-61 with basically 6 1/2 players. one player got injured (hopefully he's ok and just missed the second half as a precaution) and another fouled out before the end of the game. i was waiting for Dayton's coach to just play with 4 guys Hoosiers style. but, i'll certainly enjoy the victory beer tonight. here are some highlights:

most of the really bad weather happened while we were inside at the game. the drive home wasn't too bad. of course, getting gas was a bone chilling experience.

tonight, i'll be bouncing between some NBA All-Star shit (3 point contest, slam dunk, etc) and the New York Rangers game at Arizona. after that, i'll be watching ROH tonight and hopefully staying warm.

i'll be back on here early tomorrow, that is if we still have power or if Frontier Communications has managed to keep the internet up and running. it went out on me this morning as i was trying to watch some YouTube videos. that's always fun.

hopefully your weather is a hell of a lot warmer than mine is. i do hope you are having a great weekend. if not, pour yourself something stronger. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

getting old

i've had this damn Lucinda Williams song stuck in my head for months it seemed like. the problem was,  i always thought the song was done by Heartless Bastards. so yesterday, i finally figured this mystery out and got the song on iTunes. not sure why yesterday was the first day i decided to use the internet to figure out this question in my head, but oh well.

mom had a doctor's appointment this morning. she didn't want me to go along, so i didn't. she's been having problems remembering shit, and given the history of dementia and alzheimer's with her parents, i believe both of us want to catch anything as soon as possible. of course, the beauty is it could be a number of other things as well. but, i'm a worse case scenario type of guy. so, i'll have my mind elsewhere while she's waiting on the results of the blood tests and the appointment for a neurological exam. good times.

the Yankees were leading last night 3-0 when the news of the partial ligament tear for Tanaka came down. and just like that, they were trailing 9-3 and the game was over. it felt like the season was as well. that makes 80% of the starting rotation is now on the disabled list. hard to win games let alone contend in the division with those kind of injuries. they play tonight in Baltimore, who happens to be in first place in the division. i'm sure they have the hammer out to put the nails in the coffin tonight. i'd like to see the team show some fight, but even that is probably not enough. it's going to be a long rest of the season.

i did watch Big Brother last night. i'm very happy that Zach stayed in the house. the new HOHs aren't going after him. both of them want to get rid of Devin this week. hopefully, that will happen.

other than baseball tonight, not sure what i'm going to watch. mom got me a charcoal art set, so i guess i might play around with that a little. i'm trying to come up with logos for this blog, for my book, etc., for t-shirts, mugs, mousepads, anything i could possibly sell. i need to start making some money. especially given the fact that the farm is going to go away soon and who knows if i'm going to live with my mother still or not. trust me, i'm not exactly hoping i get to live in my 1992 Ford Ranger.

well, after the last few days, i know that all the cats are alive. Boomer made it back up from the wood lot. and amazingly, my cat Alfred had two kittens recently. saw her nursing them today. so, that makes it that Batman, Robin, and Alfred all got pregnant. where is a damn villain when you need one?

that's all for me today kids. i hope everyone has a great weekend.

be well. be creative. be loud. be the prince of mischief. be the first one to order a round with a stranger's credit card.
