thankfully, i'm not religious...

i found out right before i fell asleep last night that the pope had died. i find it curious that one of the last pieces of shit to see him alive was J.D. Vance. now, i'm not saying one thing killed the other, just saying it is interesting. in a weird way, last night was full of tragedy. be it wrestling, tv shows, reality... damn.

night 2 of WrestleMania was damn near perfect. the show was much better paced than night 1. i liked the matches better. the Joe Hendry surprise was actually a surprise. it was great to see Becky Lynch back. then, the main event started. Cena's win over Cody felt completely anticlimactic. now, i have learned to let everything play out before casting judgement, but this certainly fell flat. and i know in wrestling history, when your main event falls flat, it takes away from the whole show.

The Last of Us last night was shocking, mostly because i didn't know what was coming since i never played the video game.

The Americas last night was the behind the scenes of how they made the show. that was fascinating to watch.

The Righteous Gemstones was hilarious last night. just two episodes left.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan was very good last night.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs yesterday:

Manchester United lost yesterday at home to Wolves, 1-0.

the Yankees won 4-0 yesterday against Tampa Bay. i couldn't believe the official scorer took away the no hitter that Max Fried was working on. and i couldn't believe the umpires and the replay booth took away a home run from Aaron Judge that was clearly fair. the Yankees start a series tonight in Cleveland.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i will be watching Monday Night Raw on Netflix. the Raw after WrestleMania is always a crazy one.

below are your two videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

mom has physical therapy today. i will hopefully write some poems there.

i should be on here tomorrow in the afternoon, most likely.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

it amazes me as much as i should be beating myself up for falling for it...

there is so much to get to in this blog, i might as well start with the bullshit at the top of my mind. let me paint a picture. i have been talking to this beautiful woman from Georgia (state not country) for the last couple of weeks. i thought we really hit it off. we're both born in January. she's a Chelsea fan. i'm a Manchester United fan. she really liked my poetry. etc. etc. well, last night she told me she loves me. i said i love you too. felt incredibly comfortable saying that as i am at the point of my life where i am fucking tired of being alone. so, i got up this morning and there was no message from her. no big deal, i'll send the good morning. she comes back that she is in pain and her phone is fucked up. ok, shit happens, sorry to hear that. she then sends me a pic that says her camera on her phone won't work unless she has an Amazon gift card. i checked all around the web, already knowing the answer, but hoping to find something where i was wrong. so, you wait until the day after i say i love you to fucking try to scam me. that pissed me off royally. now, i had mailed her a book that should arrive tomorrow along with a birthday card. i usually allow people three strikes. but, when you toy with my emotions and then try to scam me, that's such a red flag that you have to go. so yeah, that was how my day started off. just fucking lovely. but, that should give me plenty to write about for the last 8 poems needed for the book.

i tried to start the Highlander today and of course it wouldn't. i needed to go to Kroger to get some pills and whatever was on the list. the battery charger mom ordered from Amazon is supposed to be here tomorrow. i'm hoping that works or we'll have to get a new battery. joy.

Manchester United defeated Arsenal yesterday in a penalty shootout to advance to the next round of the FA Cup. between a win with just 10 men and the draw at Liverpool the week before, maybe the team finally believes in itself again.

i did watch the NFL playoffs yesterday. Bills defeated the Broncos, 31-7. Eagles beat the Packers, 22-10. and the Commanders defeated Tampa Bay, 23-20. tonight the Rams will take on the Vikings.

The Agency last night was excellent.

Dexter: Original Sin was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i will be watching Monday Night Raw on Netflix.

so, the 3 poems i wrote last night i will look back with a great sense of irony. the poems i will hopefully write tonight will have plenty of venom. i won't be shocked if i get real fucking close to the number i need by 4 in the morning.

i'm ultra depressed now given this shit today. i told mom i should have expected the Highlander not to start when my blood sugar was 99 this morning. for every good thing that happens, there has to be a negative to even it out.

i still have no clue what is going on with my health insurance. and i need to get my driver's license renewed sometime before my birthday on the 21st. joy.

there was something i wrote last night that really has me thinking today. this theory that maybe i am that person who never gets to really fall in love and have that kind of happiness in my life. part of me is so eager to not be alone anymore that i'm willing to overlook the obvious shit just for the chance. that makes me wonder if i'm just rolling the ball uphill just to watch it fall over and over again. i remember in my 20's an old girlfriend warned me i was becoming the bitter old soul. sure enough.

that's all for me kids.

i surely hope your weekend was better than mine.

on the bright side, i did get my laundry done.

now i have to go ice my bad back.

like squeezing water out of a rock...

this is how i have talked about writing poems here lately. now, last night, i managed to get 4 poems out of that rock. whenever i write a line that sends a shiver down my back, i know i'm on to something. hopefully, i'll get a few more written this weekend.

so, the New York Rangers surprised me this afternoon. they traded their captain to Anaheim for a cheaper defenseman and a 4th round draft pick. the coup in the trade was Anaheim took on the contract. the Rangers didn't have to retain any salary. so, now they have plenty of cap space and 3 first round draft picks to go get something to really galvanize this team.

the Rangers play tonight at home against Pittsburgh.

Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage was pretty funny last night.

NJPW was good last night.

the NFL game last night between the Packers and Lions was really good. the Lions won, 34-31.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and AEW Rampage. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

so, the Rangers just signed their goalie to an extension that is 8 years and 92 million. crazy crazy day.

other than hockey tonight, i might watch some college football.

i'm going to try to get some Christmas shit up this weekend around the house. mom has said she's leaving it up to me, so it might just be the Charlie Brown Christmas tree and that's it.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

the Christmas cards will be going out on Monday, sort of.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

i need to get started on dinner tonight.

managing frustration...

the Yankees pissed me off so much last night, i was shaving and showering at 3 in the morning. sometimes, i just do that to (hopefully) change up the mojo. i guess time will tell if it actually fucking works. i did get some decent sleep after the shower, so there's that.

i had to go to the post office today to mail some books back to my partner in crime (CRK). it amazes me the number of characters in this town that are just dumb as shit. thankfully, i'm not one of those.

so yeah, the Yankees lost last night at the Nationals, 5-2. they are off tonight and start a series at home tomorrow night against St. Louis.

Big Brother was good last night. i have no damn clue who gets evicted tonight. part of me hopes it will be Angela, but i'm not getting my hopes up.

AEW Dynamite was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother and NJPW. i will probably watch some college football tonight as well.

every 45 minutes...

for some reason, i went to bed before 3 AM last night. i think i saw my clock every 45 minutes. fuck me.

the Yankees won last night at Detroit, 3-0. hopefully, they will find a way to win this afternoon.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both good last night.

AEW Rampage was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Collision.

i think mom wants chicken alfredo tonight for dinner. thank god we have a dishwasher now.

i still need to vacuum the house. i'm going to try to get that done when i get this done.

sadly, anytime i do vacuum the house, i have to ice my back down after i get done.

i'm sure i will watch plenty of sports today and hopefully sneak in a couple of naps.

just going through the motions...

my back has been killing me today. of course, anytime i wanted to rest it or ice it down, mom needed my help. the joy of life. i had to tell my mother today, as i watched her struggle to find her password for her financial planner, that her homework assignment is to get all this shit into one book and have it updated because when she dies, i'm not doing it. and she talks all the time about me taking over shit, and then of course, she never does it. and i only want to do it if she wants me to. because i know damn well the history of mental illness in this family and the fucking joys i have coming...

the Yankees won last night at Tampa, 2-1. holy shit a win. hopefully, they can do that again tonight.

AEW Dynamite was good last night.

i did watch some of the Copa America last night. Colombia defeated Uruguay 1-0 even though Colombia played the entire second half with only 10 men. the last twenty minutes were fucking crazy. so, it will be Argentina vs. Colombia in the final on Sunday. Argentina was the last team to actually beat Colombia, so it should be amazing.

imagine if i could actually get some good sleep...

i really tried to sleep in my bed last night. i couldn't find a comfortable position for anything. after 45 minutes, i gave up and went out to the living room. if i get some ice on my back in my massage chair, i'm usually out in a few minutes. i got close to 4 hours in that chair last night and a good long nap watching tennis this morning. i guess Dan Soder's line is correct... you want to get some sleep? eat a big meal. it never fails.

the New York Yankees came from behind yesterday in the top of the 9th and defeated San Francisco, 7-5. the Yankees are off tonight and start a series at home against the Twins tomorrow.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

the Stanley Cup Final is set. Game 1 will be Edmonton at Florida on Saturday night.

The Chi was very good last night.

Last Week Tonight was EXCELLENT as usual.

i did get my shipment of sports cards i ordered today. i was hoping they would be better but i did get a few good ones and plenty of cards i had never seen before. so, the collector in me loved that. the businessman man in me wants to kill that little fucker.

i think i am going to go to Rite Aid when i get this done to pick up my pills. i'll make dinner when i get back home.

welcome to national poetry month

i try to do something with this blog every April to highlight poetry in one way or another. given how hectic my life is at the moment, i am going to do bare minimum shit this year. i do plan on having 3 different videos in the blog each day of poetry. any day where you see just my videos, you know that was one of those busier than shit days, etc.

so, here are your videos for this day of national poetry month:

the New York Yankees won yesterday at Houston, sweeping the Astros, 4-3. they start a series tonight at Arizona.

the final 4 is now set. congrats to Purdue and NC State.

A Gentleman in Moscow was very good last night.

The Regime was really good last night. the series finale is next week.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking hilarious last night. the series finale is next week.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

here are your NBA highlights from yesterday:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Monday Night Raw.

i made a trip to the bank today to deposit a check and it took way longer than it should have.

Orkin started a day early out here. i think they wanted to get most of the outdoor stuff done so they can do the inside stuff tomorrow when it is supposed to be raining cats and dogs.

i did watch the Bray Wyatt documentary this afternoon on Peacock. i highly recommend it and bring along some tissues. you WILL cry watching it.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Pittsburgh.

i have to get up early as fuck tomorrow, so that's all for me kids.

a quiet, warm day...

mom actually wanted to go out and walk this afternoon. i told her it was a good day to do that. it was in the low 70's with a bit of wind. we walked for a little over 10 minutes. we probably could have done more but someone forgot to taker her pain pills before we started. i did go outside a little bit yesterday. i fixed our chimes that the wind tried to destroy the other night and i filled all the bird feeders. on top of all that, i wrote 3 poems yesterday afternoon. those are the first poems of March.

The Regime last night was pretty crazy.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was very funny last night.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

Hightown was good last night. the series finale is next week.

here are your NBA highlights from yesterday:

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Florida. this will be a true test to see if the Rangers have a chance to get through the east this year in the playoffs.

i guess winter wants another go...

so, the rain that seems to never end is supposed to turn over to snow later today. joy.

let me get the bad news out of the way first.

the Dayton Flyers lost at Richmond last night, 69-64. that ends the Flyers winning streak and puts them in second place in the A10.

the New York Rangers got down 2-0 last night and my first thought was here we go again. thankfully, the Rangers scored 7 straight goals after that to win in Ottawa last night, 7-2.

WWE Royal Rumble last night was excellent. i thought the women's Rumble match stole the show. Jade Cargill made her debut a memorable one. Bayley and Cody Rhodes won the Rumble matches.

AEW Collision was good last night.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Hightown, The Woman in the Wall and True Detective Night Country.

Manchester United is playing at Newport County in the FA Cup right now. United is up 2-1 at halftime. considering Newport is 76 places behind United, i will be incredibly disappointed if United loses this in the second half.

the AFC and NFC championship games are today. Chiefs at Ravens and Lions at 49ers.

i will probably watch both of those games and a little college basketball today.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

just a little snow

it was snowing when i woke up this morning. hell, it was probably snowing when i went to sleep at 4 AM. that was after typing up two poems that i had just written. i was hoping to write about ten. sometimes you squeeze the rock and you get water, other times it is nothing but dust. oh well.

AEW Rampage was good last night.

i will probably watch plenty of college basketball, NFL and NHL games tonight.

more water left in the rock...

i did squeeze out another poem last night. this one was a little more unexpected, which made me happy. i wasn't going to push my luck and see if i could squeeze out any more.

the Yankees lost yesterday at Miami, 3-1. they play again this afternoon.

AEW Collision was very good last night.
