one of the crazy days...

so, let me begin where yesterday's blog stopped... Manchester United and Liverpool finished 2-2 yesterday. United had a chance to win it late, just had the wrong guy taking the shot. i was thrilled with getting a point out of that game considering Liverpool is basically running away with the league. and i also agreed, this should be the standard performance from Manchester United going forward.

the New York Rangers won at Chicago yesterday, 6-2.

the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday at Tampa Bay, 27-19. thank god this season is over.

team USA defeated Finland last night, 4-3 in OT, to win their second straight gold medal at the World Juniors. first time in history the USA has done that. even better, Finland blew a 3-1 lead in the game.

so, the NFL playoffs are now set.

i did write 2 more poems last night, both for the book. i think i am up to 11 now. just 29 more to go.

The Agency last night was excellent.

Dexter: Original Sin was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i do plan on watching Monday Night Raw on Netflix tonight.

so, we got a little over 8 inches of snow last night. i haven't bothered to go outside at all today. i have this spot on my left leg from a car accident in my 20's that feels like my leg is going to break in two on days like this. makes it really interesting while trying to walk on snow and ice. good times.

i'm not sure why i am suddenly popular with beautiful women on Substack. it is mind boggling to me. but, it seems to be helping the poems...

mom didn't go to her foot doctor today, obviously. and Orkin didn't show up today, obviously. whoever mom hired to shovel the driveway did a good job, until it snowed again. the wind is blowing hard enough that by tomorrow, you probably won't even be able to tell it got shoveled.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i am hoping it is after i get some better sleep.

i need to start working on dinner tonight. meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy... perfect for a cold fucking night.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

just a little snow

it was snowing when i woke up this morning. hell, it was probably snowing when i went to sleep at 4 AM. that was after typing up two poems that i had just written. i was hoping to write about ten. sometimes you squeeze the rock and you get water, other times it is nothing but dust. oh well.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night.

AEW Rampage was good last night.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Collision.

i will probably watch plenty of college basketball, NFL and NHL games tonight.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Montreal.

i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow in the morning since the Saints game will be on at the same time that the Dayton Flyers play UMass.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

and now back to winter...

i think it tried to snow here last night. if it did, nothing stuck to the ground. but, it is back into the 30's today. not much of a wind, so it isn't too bad.

team USA won the bronze medal yesterday at the World Juniors, defeating Sweden 8-7, in OT.

Canada won the gold medal at the World Juniors, defeating Czechia 3-2, in OT.

Young Sheldon was pretty good last night.

Vice News Tonight was excellent last night.

i did win some money last night. my gamble on Purdue paid off. i managed to turn $10 into over $90.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage, AEW Battle of the Belts 5 and Young Rock. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

the New York Rangers won last night in Montreal, 4-1.

the New York Knicks play tonight in Toronto.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

Manchester United plays Everton today in the FA Cup. hopefully the boys will keep on winning.

i need to go to Meijer to get some things. i figure mom will text me while i'm out to get some other things at some other store. joy.

i will probably be on here early tomorrow as i know the Rangers play in the afternoon.

never what you want to hear right before falling asleep...

so, what i didn't mention about yesterday was my mother fell again. this time in my room. she was on my bed as i was on hold with Anthem. she didn't realize she was on a pillow and sure enough, she got up to leave and fell right on the floor, face first. now she's got these two bruises on her head and of course, i'll look like the fucker beating her up when i take her to appointments now. so, right before i went to sleep last night/early this morning, she called me into her room. she told me if i happen to die tonight, i want you to know i love you. i know you got the shit end of the stick, but the life insurance and everything goes to you. she started to cry and i was tired as hell. i told her you're not going to die tonight. and of course, i was right.

so, the ball is finally in motion in getting my prescriptions flipped from Kroger to Rite Aid. of course, Rite Aid's website wasn't working properly, so i had to actually call them to get that in motion. they are supposed to call Kroger tomorrow to get the prescriptions transferred. knowing my luck, something will fuck up along the way.

the Dayton Flyers lost last night to VCU, 53-52. i'm not sure what the fuck the Flyers were doing at the end of the game. they were up 2 with 14 seconds left with two fouls to give. instead of using those fouls and increasing the odds of VCU making a mistake, either inbounding the ball or rushing to get a shot off, the Flyers just decided to play defense. and of course, VCU hit a 3 to take the lead. Dayton didn't get a good shot off to try to win the game at the buzzer. that's 4 straight losses to VCU. i really hope this is one of these losses that stings so fucking bad that they never put themselves in the situation again. of course, they are so fucking young, they probably will lose like that again, maybe even this weekend at George Washington. i guess the best part of the game last night was Obi Toppin was at the arena for the first time since he left Dayton to go to the NBA.

AEW Dynamite last night was great. it was their first night on TBS and they wanted to make damn sure it was memorable. mission accomplished.

I Can See Your Voice was good last night.

Hard Knocks was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon, United States of Al and B Positive. i watched NXT UK this afternoon, it was really good.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Las Vegas. hopefully, the Rangers find a way to win tonight.

the snow missed us today. but the fucking cold didn't. i iced my back down for hours this afternoon. thankfully, i threw on some Serie A soccer, Juventus vs. Napoli, and caught up on some sleep.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i now need to go take my mother's blood pressure and figure out what i'm making for dinner tonight.

wait, i thought a coup was meant for third world nations...silly me...

watching this crowd of dumb fucks crash the capitol building today was like watching Senior Day at high school but there was more drugs and alcohol involved. i would love if the protestors that left the bombs or took pictures at the podiums, etc. i fucking would love if they all get arrested and charged with crimes. and i am fucking happier than shit that one of them got shot and died. this is what happens with a cult you dumb fucks.

so, last night i witnessed a team i have loved since birth lose to a team of fucking clowns for the first time in 15 years. Dayton lost to Fordham, 55-54. this is a team that plays down to its competition and has a coach unwilling to coach it out of them. you can tell this team misses Obi so damn much and is fucking unwilling to give two shits about figuring out how to win without him. they play at Davidson on Friday. i wouldn't be shocked if Davidson hands them their asses on national television.

thankfully, the USA vs. Canada game went much better. the USA defeated Canada 2-0 to win the gold at the world juniors. it's always nice to see Canadian tears on Canadian soil when the USA wins.

i took a shower last night and i guess i got the water a little too hot. i have a tendency of passing out when that happens. of course, as i have gotten older, it usually results in me having to take a shit. good times.

i did find it funnier than shit that the Democrats won both races in Georgia last night. poor Mitch, now the minority leader. going to be funny actually seeing shit get done in the Senate now.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Masked Dancer, Name That Tune, NXT and AEW.

so, i did get all the grocery shopping done in time to watch the Manchester United game today. i kind of wish i would have just stuck to my usual schedule so i could have been spared watching them fucking lose to Manchester City in yet another semifinal of a competition. fuck me. United lost 2-0.

i did get some baseball cards at Rite-Aid today. there really wasn't much in the Fairfield box. i might have made back what i paid for it, maybe.

numb to the pain anymore...

i have watched the New Orleans Saints lose so many heartbreakers over the years, i'm now fucking numb to the pain. so, when they lost to the Minnesota Vikings yesterday, i wasn't surprised. especially given that the Vikings committed pass interference on the game winning touchdown in overtime. that didn't piss me off, i'm used to the Saints getting fucked over on calls. what pissed me off was Sean Payton got conservative late in the 4th quarter, settling for the field goal to force overtime. it was so unlike him to do so, that i had that awful feeling in my stomach that the worse was coming. and sure enough...

the Seattle Seahawks won the other game yesterday, winning at the Eagles, 17-9.

the Dayton Flyers defeated Saint Joseph's yesterday, 80-67. Dayton did not play their best during the game. they battled foul trouble for most of it. but, good teams always find a way. they hadn't won at Saint Joseph's arena since January 29, 2000.

the World Juniors finished up yesterday. Canada came from behind to win the goal medal over Russia, 4-3. Sweden defeated Finland 3-2 to win the bronze medal.

i did watch most of the Golden Globes last night as i was doing my laundry.

Power was really good last night. loved the ending.

Ray Donovan was good last night.

Shameless was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did listen to the latest episode of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

i'm going to try to get some poems out tomorrow, so i should be on here after i get that done.

like a punch to the gut

when the USA got down 2-0 to Finland last night, i was disappointed, but not overly worried. 3 minutes later when the USA had tied the game at 2, i thought for sure they were going to win. sadly, Finland scored with 1:30 left in the game. that was like a punch to the gut. as soon as Finland won the gold, i just changed the channel. i figured that was better than wallowing in misery. on the bright side, if there is one, that's 4 straight years for the USA to get a medal at the World Juniors. the only problem being silver is not a medal you win.

i did watch a good portion of each playoff game last night. neither result really surprised me. the Colts defeated the Texans and the Cowboys beat the Seahawks. the Cowboys will play the Saints if Chicago beats the Eagles today. the Colts will play the Chiefs next week. that means the game today between the Chargers and Ravens will be to see who goes to play New England.

ROH was pretty good last night.

Austin City Limits had Trombone Shorty on last night. it was excellent.

mom wanted pizza last night, for some reason. she decided to order a thin crust pizza from Pizza Hut. i picked it up, along with her chicken wings and breadsticks. the pizza was awful. of course, i lied and said it was fine. later on in the night, i think even mom realized she should have got something else. joy.

on the DVR tonight will be Ray Donovan. i figure i'll watch the Golden Globes for most of the evening.

the Dayton Flyers play at home today against Richmond. i'm hoping the boys get their A10 season off on the right foot.

the New York Rangers play this afternoon at the Arizona Coyotes. i should be back home by the time that game starts.

i know i have a trip to the eye doctor tomorrow. i will probably be on here after that is over.

my body has declared war

so i woke up this morning to cramps in both of my lower legs. not exactly how i thought i would start my Saturday, but god knows i love a good fucking challenge. my hands aren't working well this morning as arthritis has decided it's running the fucking show today. so much for going to the basketball game at noon. mom said she wasn't going last night because of how cold it is. it was probably at least -15 when i went out to get the paper this morning. as my mother started telling me 20 years ago... growing old is not for sissies.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Treehouse Masters was pretty good last night. i never thought i'd see the day of basically everything but a fucking garage in the trees.

team USA beat the Czech Republic yesterday at the World Juniors 9-3 to win the Bronze.

Canada beat Sweden 3-1 to win the Gold medal. Sweden's captain, a draft pick of the New York Rangers, tossed his silver medal into the stands after he got it. i love a guy who hates to lose. of course, i'm sure the Rangers will now trade him at some point and then we get to see him become a star on some other team.

Manchester United won yesterday 2-0 over Derby County to advance to the next round of the FA Cup. the boys left it late, but, as usual here lately, Lingard to the rescue. Lukaku scored the other goal.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW, ROH and Austin City Limits.

the Dayton Flyers take on UMass at noon today. i really wanted to go but thankfully the game is on national television. hopefully Dayton can win 2 games in a row for the first time this season.

the NFL Playoffs start today. the only game i care about is on tomorrow.

the New York Rangers play tonight out in Arizona. i really hope they put the loss to Chicago behind them and come out with a fucking purpose tonight.

i did write 3 poems yesterday on top of doing the grocery store and getting my laundry done. those were the first poems of 2018. all 3 were about suicide. nice to see i haven't lost my touch. i do plan on doing some poetry work this weekend as i really want to get some submissions out next week.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

apparently hell has frozen over

i haven't even been outside yet. i'm kind of waiting for when i think the mail might actually be out there so i can get that and the newspaper at the same time. we didn't get much snow, but i'm not a big fan of the single digits when i don't have to be in it.

when team USA got down 2-0 last night to Canada, i wasn't pleased. thankfully, the game was tied 2-2 after the second period. so you can imagine my anger when Canada was up 4-2 in the 3rd period. thankfully, this USA team has the resolve of champions as they clawed back quickly to make the game 4-4. they played a 20 minute overtime that was beyond exciting, but no one scored. so, off to the shootout once again. the same hero from the Russia game for the USA came through once again, as Troy Terry scored for the USA. Tyler Parsons stood on his head for the USA in goal, stopping all 5 shootout attempts by Canada as the USA won gold for the 4th time. this is the 3rd time the USA has beaten Canada for gold. another instant classic and oh, how i fucking enjoy having a victory beer while watching a bunch of teenagers that think it is their god given right to win this tournament every fucking year cry their damn eyes out. while watching that flag go up above the Canadian and Russian flags, it's one of the few times anymore that i can actually be proud to be an American.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty funny last night.

Life in Pieces was fucking hilarious last night.

Fuck, That's Delicious last night was great.

The Pizza Show was excellent as well last night.

i'm very pleased that the review i put out yesterday of Maiden has been well received. i used to do reviews all the time in a previous life. i wasn't sure if i still had the ability to do that or not.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Rhode Island. this a true test for Dayton as Rhode Island is a mirror image of them. a hard team that plays defense, rebounds, causes turnovers, shoots the 3, dunks as much as possible, etc, etc. hopefully, my sister and i will see a great game and a Dayton victory. the game is on ESPN2 tonight.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll put the links below in the music section.

sucking the marrow out of life

i decided to do a little writing last night. i really didn't have anything that i just had to get down on the page. from time to time, i like to challenge myself and see what i can come up with out of nowhere. often, it's just shit. every blue moon, i get a good one. i think i may have a couple of gems out of the 5 poems i typed up this morning. i suppose only time will tell.

the New York Rangers whipped Dallas last night 6-2. it was the best i had seen the Rangers play in quite some time.

for those of you interested, Finland defeated Russia in OT yesterday to win the Gold medal at the World Juniors. i believe the Rangers prospect on Finland had the main assist on the winning goal.

i did watch TNA last night on Pop TV. it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, but it certainly wasn't as good as it could have been either. i don't mind EC3 as the World Champion, but honestly, who the fuck told Mike Bennett that the wrestling Jesus should dress like this:
needless to say, i won't be wasting my time much on TNA, kind of like the last 8 years or so.

i did listen to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. i highly recommend it.
you can never go wrong with Adam Cole BAYBAY.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

the Dayton Flyers take on UMass tonight at home. the game is on national television (CBS Sports Network). hopefully tonight isn't another last second thriller. but, given how they usually play when they are ranked, i'm not counting on an easy one.

i will watch NXT tonight when i get back home. i imagine it will be after another trip to Waffle House. NXT i think is another best of 2015 episode.

i suppose i should check and see if anything else is on tonight. the 2016 schedule hasn't sunk in just yet.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. if i don't wake up in my usual cold winter pain, i might actually get one of the YouTube videos done and possibly work on some poems to send out for submissions before my birthday.

it was in the teens this morning. just as winter is starting to creep in it's supposed to warm back up into the 40's the next couple of days.

i hope this finds everyone in good spirits and deciding what you're sending me for my birthday.

say hello to snow

so, the "experts" were partly correct with the weather forecast. it did snow. thankfully, we only got three inches of it. here are some pictures of the first snowfall on the farm in 2015:

you can see the rest of the pictures i took in the slideshow on the right hand side of this blog.

thankfully, the snow was pretty easy to shovel. of course, i managed to injure myself anyway. i think i pulled something in my left arm. i probably hurt it yesterday trying to change the water filter in the cellar. thank god i have a wonderful pain tolerance.

it's supposed to get really fucking cold tonight, well below zero. i might have to sleep with the wool socks on tonight.

the World Juniors gold medal game last night was crazy. i stopped watching when Canada got out to a big lead and then i turned back and Russia had cut the lead down to 1. i watched most of the game from there. Canada won 5-4.

Monday Night Raw was disappointing last night. i'm reserving complete judgment to see if all the bullshit from last night leads to something good. of course, given what i think of the company, i don't have much hope for anything good happening.

thankfully, Gotham was fucking awesome last night. the episode had so many twists and turns... edge of the seat type shit for the entire hour. one of the best shows on television.

i think i found the checks i'm going to order when we move. i definitely have to get the Batman checks i found today. too fucking cool.

i have no clue what i'm going to watch tonight. probably some college basketball. maybe i'll catch up on some reading.

i'm planning on breaking out the first poetry submissions of 2015 tomorrow. so, hopefully my arm isn't killing me too much as i have some fucking typing to do.

hope everyone is doing good. hopefully it is warmer where you are. if not, break out the hard stuff for tonight. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

so little sleep... who cares

let me get the negative shit from yesterday out of the way first. the New York Rangers played like shit last night, starting the game off in a fog and never really acting like they gave a shit at all. i'm sure this is exactly how the dads wanted the dad's trip to end. 5-0. i suppose the road winning streak had to end at some point.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good. i'm a little surprised they are going to unify the heavyweight titles at a non-major PPV. i always do enjoy when CM Punk gets on one of his rolls on the mic. and the actual wrestling has been pretty decent here for the last little while.

as the snowflakes were coming down and as i was watching the last little bit of the NFL game, my mother decided to go to bed. that meant, i had to keep my voice down while watching the Dayton Flyers at midnight. yeah right...

Dayton started off the game with the obvious jitters. they fell behind by as much as 16 points in the first half. now, they were playing the #11 team in the country (Gonzaga), but still... thankfully, they went on a little run to get the halftime deficit down to 9. and then, holy shit... they shot an amazing 61% in the second half, made some clutch free throws down the stretch and got a HUGE win. highlights below:

they get to play Baylor tonight on ESPN. another upset and they will be in the finals. fingers are crossed and i have tried to do everything just like i did yesterday... not that i believe in superstitions or anything like that.

the game got over at 2:30 and it took me a good 2 hours before the rush of adrenaline finally was gone. i did get some decent sleep though, almost 5 hours or so.

The Voice last night was really good. i have no fucking clue who will be in the bottom 3 tonight. the talent this year is slightly better than any of the previous seasons. and the performances from Jacquie and Will last night were holy shit amazing. there's no chance those 2 will be leaving tonight. and hats off to Will for having the guts to sing At Last. most men wouldn't dare.

i suppose i should actually start my Christmas shopping soon. as i look at the flat tire on my truck, i suppose it will be all online once again this year.

hope this finds everyone well. my sister is traveling here as i type. thank god there is plenty of wine in the house. it will be needed at some point i imagine.
