a bad back isn't ideal for good sleeping...

i think i finally fell asleep last night around 5:30 this morning, after i wished for death and gave up trying to find a comfortable spot for my back. i got up a little after 11 this morning. the rain had finally stopped. i figure the pain in my back will subside when death finally knocks on my door. joy.

well, might as well start back at yesterday afternoon...

Manchester United did not play well yesterday. thankfully, luck was on their side and they defeated West Ham 2-1.

the New York Yankees held the White Sox to one hit yesterday and won the game, 4-0. hopefully they can win the series this afternoon.

there was 3 OT games yesterday in the NHL playoffs. pure chaos. hopefully more today.

the NBA playoffs yesterday got off to a crazy start. hopefully, more of that today as well.

and i did watch a good portion of the Masters yesterday. and i've been checking that out this morning as well. they had to move up the tee times because of the weather coming. looks like Tiger might pull this off. (edit: holy fuck he did)

Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night.

ROH was good last night.

Minnesota Duluth defeated UMass 3-0 to win the college hockey national championship last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Barry, Veep, Last Week Tonight, Billions and The Chi. i'll be watching WWE Worlds Collide on WWE Network at some point tonight.

here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

i'm not sure how bad the weather is supposed to be tonight. the last forecast i saw was for 2 inches of rain tonight with plenty of wind. oh joy.

i get the feeling that the rest of today is going to be me in my massage chair seeing how many fucking ice packs i can go through and numb my whole damn body.

no damn clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. until then my friends...

i hope your Saturday was great. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

overreaction Monday

today is the day where i love listening to sports talk radio because someone who played like shit yesterday is washed up and some rookie that was amazing is the second coming. being someone who takes fantasy football a little too seriously, i have learned over the years to laugh at overreaction Monday. that being said, do you think you could have given me one fucking point yesterday Joe Flacco, ya fucking bum.

my fantasy teams did horrible yesterday. i won one game and will (most likely) lose the other two. thankfully, my picks did ok. if the Eagles and Vikings win tonight, i'll finish with 12 wins for the week.

the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday 31-19. i had a feeling they were going to pull it out yesterday late, but that quickly faded. it's only the first game, but that fucking secondary has to get healthy quick. they can't have another season where they have to out score everyone.

the New York Yankees found some heart and pride yesterday and a starting pitcher who could shut down a hot team. Tanaka pitched a strong seven innings and the Yankees won 5-0. could be the start of something or could just be the sun shining on a dog's ass. they start a series in that dump in Tampa tonight.

the Sunday night shows were excellent last night. i did manage to watch ROH last night. a really good episode this week. Big Brother was pretty funny. i'm interested to see who gets evicted tomorrow. Ray Donovan was good. Masters of Sex had a nice little twist at the end. The Strain was fucking fantastic. the entire episode had a few oh shit moments and the ending certainly left me wanting more. and it was great to have Last Week Tonight back on:

i wrote 7 poems today and typed them up this afternoon. i got a line stuck in my head last night that i had to get out today. 45 minutes later and i have 7 pretty damn good poems. that certainly gives me enough to do a submission in the next few days.

time for some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw. i figure i will be flipping between the Monday Night Football games and the baseball game. if i get bored, i'll finally watch that Jimi Hendrix concert i have on the DVR.

i will be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in the Champions League. it feels good to type that again.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. if i had quarterbacks on my fantasy teams that could actually throw touchdowns instead of interceptions, my weekend would have been great.

of course, if a miracle happens tonight and i somehow end up with 2 wins instead of one, i'll be a happy camper. as happy as a bitter asshole who's approaching 40 and still single can be i suppose.

as my mother always says, it could be worse. i ponder that each time my back starts to ache while i'm taking a shit on the toilet.

enjoy the visual my friends.

victory beers and the lost art of tuning out the world

i have a crazy hair on my neck that is driving me fucking nuts at the moment. not sure why i'm sharing that other than the bizarre visual that some of you might get out of that.

last night was an interesting one for me. after my quiet time with the swimsuit issue, i took a shower. i got out just in time for the New York Rangers game.

i decided to watch the Toronto feed for the game. of course, when the Rangers took the lead, i couldn't change over to the New York feed. i was extremely pissed when the Rangers gave up a 2 goal lead in the 3rd period. thankfully, they found a way to get the next goal and win the game 5-4. way too fucking sloppy for my taste. here are some highlights from the game:

the game got over in the middle of the first half of the Dayton Flyers game. to say the basketball game was ugly is like saying Kanye has a massive ego. the game was bowling shoe ugly. both teams played like shit. now, i love defense, but sometimes it's actually called horrific shooting. thankfully, Dayton played just well enough to hang around and Saint Louis did exactly what they have done all season, folded down the stretch. Dayton scored the last 10 points of the game to win 51-44. what could be considered highlights are here:

those two victory beers really helped me sleep. at least it feels like they did. we got a little ice overnight it looked like. thankfully the sun is out now, taking care of it.

Manchester United plays Burnley this afternoon. it is an absolute MUST WIN game at home. i feel like they will win, but i'd love to see them be ruthless in this game. win by like 5 or 6 goals and i'll feel like they have a real shot at beating out these other teams for the top 4. just get by like they have been doing and i'll feel like it is last season all over again, except for the winning part.

after the game, i believe mom and i are going to the grocery store. that will hopefully produce a few poems for me. i'd like to do some writing late tonight.

i'm really looking forward to Lucha Underground tonight. it should be rather entertaining, given what the previews look like.

if i don't do any writing tonight, i'll be playing catch up on some podcasts.

that's all for me. mom needs this computer and the cats are surely hungry by now. hope everyone has a great day. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

say hello to snow

so, the "experts" were partly correct with the weather forecast. it did snow. thankfully, we only got three inches of it. here are some pictures of the first snowfall on the farm in 2015:

you can see the rest of the pictures i took in the slideshow on the right hand side of this blog.

thankfully, the snow was pretty easy to shovel. of course, i managed to injure myself anyway. i think i pulled something in my left arm. i probably hurt it yesterday trying to change the water filter in the cellar. thank god i have a wonderful pain tolerance.

it's supposed to get really fucking cold tonight, well below zero. i might have to sleep with the wool socks on tonight.

the World Juniors gold medal game last night was crazy. i stopped watching when Canada got out to a big lead and then i turned back and Russia had cut the lead down to 1. i watched most of the game from there. Canada won 5-4.

Monday Night Raw was disappointing last night. i'm reserving complete judgment to see if all the bullshit from last night leads to something good. of course, given what i think of the company, i don't have much hope for anything good happening.

thankfully, Gotham was fucking awesome last night. the episode had so many twists and turns... edge of the seat type shit for the entire hour. one of the best shows on television.

i think i found the checks i'm going to order when we move. i definitely have to get the Batman checks i found today. too fucking cool.

i have no clue what i'm going to watch tonight. probably some college basketball. maybe i'll catch up on some reading.

i'm planning on breaking out the first poetry submissions of 2015 tomorrow. so, hopefully my arm isn't killing me too much as i have some fucking typing to do.

hope everyone is doing good. hopefully it is warmer where you are. if not, break out the hard stuff for tonight. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

a busy boy and the inevitable wait at the post office

i woke up this morning amazingly refreshed. perhaps i should do more drinking right before i go to bed. what could possibly go wrong in that scenario? i got my ass in gear and decided to get all my Christmas cards done today. so, be checking your mail boxes in a few days to see if you're a lucky one or not. my apologies to my friends and fans not in the USA, my poor ass has nothing for you this year. i'm hoping to make up for that next year. and if you think you should have gotten something from me, chances are i don't have your address or you have suddenly found out what i really think of you.

i got to the post office and i must have been the 7th or 8th person in line. god bless the guy behind the counter, he was going as fast as he could go. and, given that most of the customers were elderly, i'm surprised he still has patience left. he must love me. i know exactly how i want the shit shipped and i have cash in hand. amazingly, the last package i was waiting on for Christmas arrived today. so, now all i have is some wrapping of presents to do. i burned my sister's CD this morning, so i can actually take a breath and relax for a few moments. i think i'll do the wrapping later in the week.

i'm trailing in my fantasy football playoff game by 3 points. thankfully, i have a WR going tonight for Chicago. but, i'd love to see New Orleans actually win the game. so, if i can just get 4 points from the guy, i'll be thrilled. if that happens, i advance to the finals.

the Sunday night shows were awesome last night. The Newsroom was a reintroduction to the characters and why we as the audience care about them. it was an excellent series finale. Homeland was fucking crazy once again. i can't wait for the season finale next week. The Affair was amazing last night. the acting was top notch. and the ending was fucking perfect. that season finale next week should be great.

i was able to watch the last 5 minutes of the New York Rangers game last night after the shows ended. apparently, i didn't miss much. the Rangers won 2-0 over Edmonton. that shutout by King Henrik helped me win my fantasy hockey week 8-2. below are some highlights from the game:

tonight is my usual clusterfuck of a Monday. the season finale of The Voice starts tonight. i'm a little interested in seeing what songs they perform to try to win the show. at the same time, Monday Night Raw will be on. they are coming off a ppv that most people didn't like, so tonight should be real interesting. also, i'll be keeping an eye on the Monday Night Football game. i'd love to enjoy a late night victory beer, but i'm not getting my hopes up. later tonight i'm planning on watching the Men in Blazers show as i figure they will have some fun with the Manchester United win from over the weekend.

after all that, hopefully i'll get some sleep. i'll probably be on here tomorrow after my trip to the bank. got the first bill from my Christmas shopping today, so this deposit will be a timely one.

that's all for me today. i've got to go make dinner. frozen pizza. lovely. i do hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

this feels like it's going to be a long weekend

as i was watching the Yankees piss away any chance at the playoffs yesterday, i just thought about how this could be one long ass weekend when it comes to sports. and it is times like this that i wonder why i'm not like other writers or artists or whatnot and not give two shits about sports. oh, that's right, i was busy for the first 16 years of my life trying to win my father's love. and sadly, when you start an addiction that young, it never goes away.

had another lovely conversation with the dream woman this morning. and that's not pure sarcasm today. things are definitely pointing in the direction that we will meet soon. that's a true holy shit moment in my life.

the Yankees lost both games of the doubleheader yesterday. 2-1 in 11 innings and 5-0 in the nightcap. how you play 20 innings in that bandbox in Baltimore and only score 1 run is a mystery to me. they play again today but i have way too many other things to watch to give a shit about it.

Ohio State plays today at noon. i really hope they play about 10000000000000000000000000% better than last week.

the rest of the day will be spent watching some soccer, college football, and hanging out with my sister. she got here late last night after her interesting day sitting in traffic on I-75. seems like she really liked her birthday gifts.

got an email yesterday notifying me that my DNA results have arrived for that ancestry.com shit. i guess in 6 to 8 weeks i'll have some answers to questions i never bothered to think about.

i watched the new episode of The Knick last night on Cinemax. another great episode. and i really like the post-op part of the show after it is over. i really love that they do their best to stay true to the time of the series. it's fucking shocking to see how far medicine has come in just over 100 years.

i'm really looking forward to the new episode of ROH tonight.

i'd like to thank Adrian Peterson for giving my fantasy football team a chance this week. and i'm really happy i didn't draft him this year.

i will most likely be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in the morning.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. tip your waitress well and only fuck the ones that cough. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

sensory overload

next time i think it's a good decision to go to the store around 5 PM on a weekday, either talk sense into me or shoot me in the fucking head. too many people, way too many children, not everything stocked... the only good thing was nearly all the checkout lines were open and the woman bagging our groceries didn't bite my head off when i asked for some things in paper bags.

we went to the tractor supply store before that to get food for the zoo out here. i believe my cat Tolstoy might be on the dead list. haven't seen it in about 2 weeks. 2 more and it'll be scratched off the list.

was happy for Zach last night on Big Brother. i'm pretty sure Nicole will be leaving tonight. hopefully the next HOH will be able to get Frankie or Christine out next.

Wilfred was great last night. a nice mix of sadness and laughs. plus, most of the questions got answered. definitely a show that i will miss.

The Bridge was great again last night. i loved the ending. can't wait to see where it goes next week.

i also watched Brew Dogs on the Esquire Network last night. i try to catch that show when i can. one, just in case i travel, i'll know where the good bars are. two, i love beer. i highly recommend the show if you do as well.

after Big Brother tonight, i'll be watching Married and You're The Worst on FX.

i caught part 2 of The Jim Norton Show today on vice.com. if you love comics busting each other's balls, go check it out.

the Yankees had a lead last night. but, since the manager only trusts 2 relievers, he rolled the dice last night and tried to get 3 innings from a guy who normally doesn't go longer than 2. sure enough, he gives up a tying home run in the 3rd inning of work. and then, in comes a guy he doesn't trust, and he gives up a 3 run homer. the Yankees got back a run in the 9th and at least gave themselves a chance to tie the game, but, as is the story of this season, they came up short. a 5-3 loss that makes it more and more likely that Jeter's last season will be like Mo's last season. one with no playoffs. thankfully, they are off tonight before they go down to play in that dump in Tampa.

i feel bad for my mother. she's under so much stress and her ear is starting to fuck with her again. i had a conversation yesterday with her trying to make her understand why she is stressed and why she shouldn't be. mom is the kind of person that just wants to do her job, do it well, get paid accordingly, and go about her life. sadly, she picked the wrong profession, as she works with a bunch of glory fuckers. i related it like this: they don't want to find the cure for cancer, they simply want their name on it. this is where her stress comes from as she's not a glory fucker. i told her to either become one or quit giving a shit that they are. all i'm really trying to do is make sure she doesn't croak anytime soon. at least not until more of the bills are paid off.

yes, yes, i know, i'm going to hell for that last line. i'm trying to enjoy the ride.

well, that's all for me kids. see you tomorrow.

be well. be cool. be creative. be quick to send me CASH, love letters, panties, hate mail, broken promises, and old baseball cards.

a sleepy haze

i just woke up from a nap. of course, i don't exactly remember when i fell asleep. that is the beauty of being depressed and watching nothing but soccer all day long. you eventually just fade into a coma. a coma with strange accents and long names.

thankfully, the New York Rangers won last night. i would hate to have seen what today would have been like after a loss. Hank tied the franchise record for wins and Hags got his first career hat trick. 2 much needed points.

talked to my sister for the first time in a few weeks today. wanted to let her know that the high school we went to made the state final 4 in basketball for the first time in 8 years. they are playing up near her on Friday, so i'm sure she'll go to the game.

did a true check of the damage we got yesterday from the wind when i was out feeding the cats. we had a nice section of the old hog barn blow off. basically, the hole is big enough that anything smaller than a bear can get in the building now. and then i got to the bank barn. a door ripped right off of the hinges. part of the frame of the bigger door broken. i did my best to collect the parts and avoid the old rusty nails. i wiped my hands on my pants and just muttered, this will be a job for the Amish. of course, that all depends if mom wants to fix any of it at all.

the joys of depression...

i'm pretty sure i'll be bouncing between hockey games tonight and maybe a little college basketball. but not much, still too painful. and hopefully, since i had a nice long nap, i'll be awake for ROH tonight.

sorry for being short, but my imagination has taken the day off as well.

hope everyone is having a good weekend. or you are preparing to overthrow the world. either or, it's all good.
