a busy boy and the inevitable wait at the post office

i woke up this morning amazingly refreshed. perhaps i should do more drinking right before i go to bed. what could possibly go wrong in that scenario? i got my ass in gear and decided to get all my Christmas cards done today. so, be checking your mail boxes in a few days to see if you're a lucky one or not. my apologies to my friends and fans not in the USA, my poor ass has nothing for you this year. i'm hoping to make up for that next year. and if you think you should have gotten something from me, chances are i don't have your address or you have suddenly found out what i really think of you.

i got to the post office and i must have been the 7th or 8th person in line. god bless the guy behind the counter, he was going as fast as he could go. and, given that most of the customers were elderly, i'm surprised he still has patience left. he must love me. i know exactly how i want the shit shipped and i have cash in hand. amazingly, the last package i was waiting on for Christmas arrived today. so, now all i have is some wrapping of presents to do. i burned my sister's CD this morning, so i can actually take a breath and relax for a few moments. i think i'll do the wrapping later in the week.

i'm trailing in my fantasy football playoff game by 3 points. thankfully, i have a WR going tonight for Chicago. but, i'd love to see New Orleans actually win the game. so, if i can just get 4 points from the guy, i'll be thrilled. if that happens, i advance to the finals.

the Sunday night shows were awesome last night. The Newsroom was a reintroduction to the characters and why we as the audience care about them. it was an excellent series finale. Homeland was fucking crazy once again. i can't wait for the season finale next week. The Affair was amazing last night. the acting was top notch. and the ending was fucking perfect. that season finale next week should be great.

i was able to watch the last 5 minutes of the New York Rangers game last night after the shows ended. apparently, i didn't miss much. the Rangers won 2-0 over Edmonton. that shutout by King Henrik helped me win my fantasy hockey week 8-2. below are some highlights from the game:

tonight is my usual clusterfuck of a Monday. the season finale of The Voice starts tonight. i'm a little interested in seeing what songs they perform to try to win the show. at the same time, Monday Night Raw will be on. they are coming off a ppv that most people didn't like, so tonight should be real interesting. also, i'll be keeping an eye on the Monday Night Football game. i'd love to enjoy a late night victory beer, but i'm not getting my hopes up. later tonight i'm planning on watching the Men in Blazers show as i figure they will have some fun with the Manchester United win from over the weekend.

after all that, hopefully i'll get some sleep. i'll probably be on here tomorrow after my trip to the bank. got the first bill from my Christmas shopping today, so this deposit will be a timely one.

that's all for me today. i've got to go make dinner. frozen pizza. lovely. i do hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

sleep... say what?

i'm running on 4 hours sleep at the moment and a victory beer. good times my friends.

as always, let's start with the bad news. the Dayton Flyers got their asses handed to them yesterday at Arkansas 69-55. the game never got closer than 11 in the second half. they don't play again until Saturday against Boston University. that should be a game where they get to take some frustration out on a team. hopefully.

the game last night between Columbus and Pittsburgh was one of the 5 best hockey games i have ever been to in my life. i told my friend Paul after the game, he should consider himself lucky that that game was his first NHL game. it had a bit of everything; fights, power play goal, short handed goal, penalty shot goal, overtime, shootout, and the building was probably 75% Penguins fans. Columbus won in a shootout 4-3.

we went out to eat afterwards and my sister picked up the check. thank you very much. it was a late drive home. we didn't get back home until after 1 AM. it was after Saturday Night Live and ROH. but, i did catch a bit of the New York Rangers highlights.

the Rangers won 5-1 last night in Vancouver. if this team can keep scoring goals like that, they could have another special season. here are some highlights:

as for Saturday Night Live, thanks to YouTube i saw most of what i missed. this one did make me laugh today:

after checking my email, i didn't get to bed until 4 AM. i was up this morning by 8 AM. all because of my hatred for a certain team. thankfully, Manchester United made sure today was going to be a good one for me.

Manchester United defeated Liverpool 3-0. goals from Rooney, Mata and RVP. but the man that made the 3-0 win possible was this man:
he is quickly becoming the best goalkeeper in the WORLD. he was simply magnificent today. i will be enjoying this victory beer for the rest of the day.

all my injury concerns for my fantasy football playoff game turned out to be ok. hopefully i can advance to the finals.

i got all the trash picked up and taken down to the lane. i fed the cats, who didn't like that i waited until after i watched the episode of ROH i missed last night. sorry fuckers, it was worth it. the tag match of The Young Bucks vs. ACH and Matt Sydal was fucking awesome.

i'm going to now read the Sunday paper and start watching some football games.

tonight, the New York Rangers play in Edmonton. i'm hoping to squeeze the game around my usual Sunday night viewing. i am really looking forward to the series finale of The Newsroom tonight. also tonight, i'll be watching Homeland and The Affair.

and then, hopefully getting some sleep.

hope everyone is having a great weekend. if not, drink something stronger.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

surviving the winter blues...

with it getting dark so early here, it's very easy for me to slip into the winter blues. i do my best to cope and not fall in my traps, but... let's just say i'm a lazy fuck who is too smart to trick his own mind.

yesterday was a very long day for me. today is feeling like it will be longer.

the New Orleans Saints apparently can't win at home anymore. they played like absolute shit yesterday. a 41-10 loss that wasn't even that close. i stopped watching midway through the game and started watching the MLS final between Los Angeles and New England. that game was certainly better than the Saints game. plus, it was Landon Donovan's final professional game, so i wanted to see it. i'm happy he gets to go out as a winner. as for the Saints, if the Falcons lose tonight, they will still have a chance at making the playoffs. sadly, i'd prefer them to lose and get a better draft pick at this point.

i did order Final Battle last night on ppv. ROH put on one hell of a show. my favorite matches were the 6 man tag between ACH & The Young Bucks vs. Cedric Alexander & The Addiction. it was a fast paced holy shit match with great action throughout. the main event, Jay Briscoe vs. Adam Cole was fucking great. any match that has tables, chairs, thumbtacks, a few holy shit chants, plenty of 2 counts, a staple gun, and an incredible image to close out the show is worth every penny spent on getting the ppv. i'm a fan for life. just a great show.

the Sunday night shows were excellent. The Newsroom had yet another holy shit, i didn't see that coming ending. the series finale is next week. Homeland was excellent. i wish they didn't have the week off between the episodes. that would have made this episode that much more meaningful. The Affair did a good job of peeling back the onion a bit without revealing too much.

i woke up this morning amazingly refreshed after that long ass day. of course, 45 minutes of doing the dishes and my bad back was right back on my doorstep. not much has helped it today. thank god it isn't raining.

Manchester United played like shit today. too many fucking giveaways and surprise, surprise, another fucking injury. (insert superhero music here) RVP to the rescue. 2 goals from him and United stuns a Southampton team that outplayed them by a mile, 2-1. the win puts United in 3rd place in the Premier League. that's 5 wins in a row, first time that has happened since Sir Alex left the club. i suppose LVG is getting shit done faster than he thought it would take.

the New York Rangers play at home here in a few minutes. hopefully they can get a win tonight against the fucking Penguins. i'll be watching that as i listen to the Archie Miller show on the radio. i suppose i know why i am single.

also tonight is the usual clusterfuck of The Voice and Monday Night Raw. it's the Slammy Awards tonight on Raw, so i guess i'll be watching that.

later tonight i'll watch Men in Blazers as well.

i was happy that Ohio State made it into the college football playoffs. they will have their work cut out for them facing Alabama, the number one seed in the playoffs. but, i like them as an underdog. keep doubting them. please.

i will be on here sometime in the morning. i think i may have to drive mom to a doctor's appointment and we have a basketball game tomorrow night.

hope everyone had a great weekend. i'm off to go enjoy a victory beer. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

and then... sunshine

to start off this Sunday morning, let's have a little music for the congregation:
why that band isn't one of the most famous bands in the world is a mystery to me.

my Saturday was pretty damn good. a couple of victory beers and i got some sleep. all in all, i can't complain.

let's get the bad news from yesterday out of the way first. the New York Rangers blew a 2 goal lead and somehow pissed away power play after power play to lose at Detroit 3-2. thankfully, i didn't watch much of the game, though i certainly was fucking frustrated with what i did get to watch.

earlier in the day, i was at UD Arena to see the Dayton Flyers give Eastern Michigan their first loss of the season, 73-64. the game shouldn't have been that close as Dayton missed a fucking ton of free throws. but, a win is a win. they play again at home on Tuesday night. below are some highlights from yesterday:

after that, mom and i went to get something to eat before going to the grocery store. the sports bar wasn't that crowded, so that was good for my mother's ears. the grocery store wasn't that bad either. we had a ton of shit to get and we had a ton of coupons as well. the check out girl wasn't happy. we got that done and back home in time for the Ohio State game.

i certainly was hopeful that Ohio State would play well last night. i certainly didn't expect the 59-0 beat down they put on Wisconsin. i guess Ohio St. has 3 good quarterbacks and most schools barely have one. hats off to the defense as well for emasculating Wisconsin for the ENTIRE game. i can't imagine them not being in the college football playoff now.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny in spots. the football game was still going on for some of the show. i think i caught most of what i missed on YouTube this morning. here's a skit that made me laugh:

after that, i watched the preview for the upcoming ROH ppv later tonight. the show should be AWESOME. i'm torn on getting it or not. it's $34.95 and i'm not exactly made out of money. but, i'm going to try to figure something out so i can order it tonight.

my fantasy football teams have a few injury concerns today, but i think i'm going to be ok. i'd like to finish the fantasy regular season with some wins.

the New Orleans Saints play a huge divisional game today against Carolina. hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory beer this afternoon.

tonight is the usual Sunday night shows. i'm really looking forward to The Newsroom, Homeland, and The Affair. thankfully, if i do get the wrestling ppv, the shows will be on after it.

i still have trash to pick up and cats to feed. but, breakfast didn't give me the shits, so maybe today will be as good as yesterday.

hope everyone is having a good weekend. if not, go drink.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

back into the cold

it was damn near 60 degrees yesterday and i woke up this morning and it was around 32. welcome to December.

yesterday was pretty good for me, other than one of my fantasy football teams shitting the bed. plus, my fantasy hockey team came back to earth, so i made some changes on that. but, in real world type shit, it was a good day.

i got all the trash down to the end of the lane without completely destroying my back. plus, i wedged it all together good enough that the wind didn't blow any away.

the New Orleans Saints shocked the shit out of me and just about everyone else by going to Pittsburgh and beating the Steelers 35-32. they actually looked like the Saints team i was expecting to see this season. of course, the fucking Falcons won as well, so there is still a tie at the top of the sorry ass division. hopefully they can make a playoff run and continue to shock the world. and no, i didn't call my sister to rub it in that the Saints beat her team.

The Newsroom was excellent last night. only two more episodes left in the series.

i did get some sleep last night as i wanted to make sure i was up this morning when my mother had to leave to go to Columbus.

of course, she hasn't called, so i'm assuming she made it there. i figure if i don't hear from her by this evening, i'll have to start blowing up phones.

so, since i'm home alone until tomorrow night, today was a day of poetry and porn. just like the old days.

i sent out 19 poems today, 5 each to Nerve Cowboy and W.I.S.H. (Walking Is Still Honest) and 3 each to Pyrokinection, The Camel Saloon, and Dead Snakes. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the verdicts.

tonight is my usual clusterfuck. the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Tampa. it's a very important game as the Rangers need to prove to themselves that they can beat this team. or at the very least, someone put the former captain through the fucking boards for a change. The Voice has the top 8 performing tonight. not sure how much i will watch as i will be watching Monday Night Raw. i'm interested to see how many CM Punk chants break out tonight. also, i'll be watching the Men in Blazers show on NBCSN. throw on top of all that the Monday Night Football game and you can see why i need the Elvis wall of televisions. at least i have been told that we will be getting a DVR when we move. so, at least part of me will be entering the 21st century.

at some point tonight i need to shower, so i'm guessing it will be one of my notorious 2 in the morning showers.

mom just called so at least i know she made it up there.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

to the other side of reality... in the rain of course

yesterday was very long. and while it was much better than the previous days were for me, i'm still fucking drained from everything.

i got up early enough to get some email work done before Manchester United came on. thankfully, United played an excellent game, winning 3-0. of course, seeing that this is the year of the injury for them, Di Maria left the game early with a hamstring injury. he's already been ruled out of the game on Tuesday. hopefully, that's all he misses, but i doubt it. it was nice to see Rooney and RVP score again in the same game. hopefully the team has turned the corner to a great season.

about 45 minutes before we were supposed to leave to go to the basketball game, my mother tells me that she doesn't want to go. so, before i could find someone else to go with, she asks my sister to go. my sister said yes, which surprised me after our blowout the day before. but, i figured i'd rather be interested in what happens than be at the game alone. we were very civil with each other and i think the tensions eased as the game went along. Dayton did their part, destroying UIC 75-41. below are the highlights:

we were going to go out to eat after the game but everywhere was fucking packed. so we just came home. back at home, i was able to see what happened in the games i missed while at the basketball game.

Ohio State beat the team i fucking hate, 42-28, but it came with a severe injury. their star QB, who set the BIG Ten record for touchdowns in a season earlier in the game, broke his ankle and is done for the year. now, Ohio State will have to use their 3rd string QB for the Big Ten title game against Wisconsin. not sure how they are going to pull that one off, but at least they kept the team i fucking hate from getting to a bowl game.

the New York Rangers swept the home and home with Philadelphia, winning 5-2. i got to see a quick replay of the game last night. i did enjoy the chants from the fans in the 3rd period of YOU CAN'T BEAT US. that made me laugh. and it was good to see some of the kids score yesterday. below are the highlights:

i really enjoyed those 4 victory beers yesterday. by the time i finished the fourth one, i was actually feeling pretty good.

ROH last night was excellent. i really enjoyed the match between Adam Cole and Matt Sydal. i thought the show did a pretty good job of setting up the next ppv.

i did watch some of the other college football games last night. that Alabama vs. Auburn game was fucking nuts.

my sister made it home last night. i think we are on pretty good terms at the moment. at the very least, i think we both have a better understanding of where each of us are in our lives. that's better than it was before.

today is going to be a day of trash removal, football, and hopefully some rest.

the New Orleans Saints play today at the Steelers (who happen to be my sister's favorite team). i don't like the Saints chances.

the only other thing on tonight that i'm really interested in is The Newsroom. the Showtime shows are off this week. so, that means i may actually get some sleep tonight.

i have a ton of trash to pick up and take down the lane. and of course, it is raining. this will be fun with my bad back.

hope everyone is having a great weekend. thanks again to all of you for letting me waste a few minutes of your time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a sucker punch from mother nature

so, this is how my morning started out. my back was killing me as the cold front was coming through. and then after seeing my mother off to her appointments for the day, this fucking shit happened out at the farm:

the beauty of all this is the wind is still fucking blowing, nearly 12 hours later. i have no clue how much this is going to cost to fix this, but i'm pretty sure there's going to be two numbers to the left of the comma. i can't wait to get rid of this place.

i haven't done much today other than try to sleep and forget about the morning. thankfully, my Sunday was much better.

my friend Paul came over to watch some of the early football games. for most of the time, we ended up watching some soccer from Italy. he doesn't have all the channels i do. that was a fun time.

he left before the Dayton Flyers took on Boston College. Dayton played pretty damn good, leading for nearly the entire game. i do like how they finished the game on a strong run. that's a great sign from a team playing their 3rd game in 4 days. here are some highlights from the 65-53 win.

after that, the New York Rangers destroyed Montreal 5-0. easily, the most complete game the Rangers have played all season. here are the highlights:

the Sunday night shows were excellent. The Newsroom was great. Homeland was holy fucking shit great. and The Affair was great as well. i could have watched all 3 of those shows all night long, that's how good they were.

tonight is my usual clusterfuck on television. i'll be bouncing between two football games (including the Saints at home against the Ravens. MUST FUCKING WIN TIME BOYS), Monday Night Raw, The Voice, and Gotham. i'll probably watch wrestling since they are coming off a very newsworthy ppv. of course, that means i'll be using YouTube late tonight to see what i missed on the other shows. also tonight, i'm going to try to squeeze in the Men in Blazers show on NBCSN.

my fantasy football teams did pretty good yesterday. i'm still convinced that the 3-8 team that has a 19 point lead going into tonight is going to find a way to blow it. but, i have won the other game by 49 points. that team is now 9-3.

that's all for me today. i'll be on here tomorrow after my appointment at the eye doctor. i'm interested to see just how fucking blind i am these days.

hope everyone had a great weekend. if not, blame it on Bill Cosby. i have a poem swimming in my head about him that could be fucking great.

the great melt...

you wouldn't know if had snowed here and we just had a week of fuck it's cold temps. there is only one spot on the farm that still has a little snow on it. i slept like shit last night, of course, it's not great sleeping weather when it's 50 degrees at 2 in the morning. not when you've got used to it being 20 or less at that time.

i did get everything i wanted to get done done yesterday. i'm paying for it today. my back is hurting like a motherfucker. i still have to pick up the trash and feed the cats today. needless to say, i'll be taking my sweet ass time.

Manchester United got a HUGE road win yesterday, beating Arsenal 2-1. first road win of the season. it also stops Arsenal's 23 game home unbeaten streak. i really hope this is the moment where this team starts to take off. given all the damn injuries, the sky is the limit if/when the others players come back healthy. the win yesterday put them back in the top 4. now, they need to finish there.

Ohio State got off to a great start yesterday and then struggled. struggled so much that they were trailing at one point. thankfully, they woke the fuck up to win 42-27. they play the school i fucking hate next week. if they win that game, the school i fucking hate won't qualify for a bowl game this year. i will be fucking jacked for that one. with the win yesterday, Ohio State has clinched a spot in the Big 10 title game.

i did type up the 4 poems yesterday. all 4 are good. i REALLY like 2 of them. i think i'm going to try to squeeze in another writing session this month and then send out some poems early next month.

i bounced between some college football and hockey last night. and then after a much needed shower, i settled in for Saturday Night Live and ROH. i thought SNL was pretty good in spots. this one skit had me fucking laughing my ass off:
and then this one:
the rest of the show was mostly hit and miss for me.

as for ROH, another excellent episode. the match between AJ Styles and Hanson was awesome.

the Saints don't play until Monday night, so i'll be basically bouncing between games today. mostly, just following my fantasy players most likely.

later today the Dayton Flyers take on Boston College in the 3rd place game down in Puerto Rico. that will basically go right into the New York Rangers taking on Montreal tonight. hopefully i'll be enjoying two victory beers later this evening.

tonight i'll be watching The Newsroom, Homeland, and The Affair. hopefully all three of those episodes will be good.

and then, hopefully some good sleep.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime in the afternoon. we're supposed to get some rain tonight and tomorrow. that should make the mud even more interesting.

hope everyone is having a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste some of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

misery, my old friend...

we got about 3 1/2 inches of snow overnight and this morning. it was a wet, heavy snow. easy to shovel, if you don't have a bad back. let's just say, i'm feeling it right now. mom and i made it to the house inspection without any problems. just a few minor electrical problems (switching old shit to new shit basically) that need to be fixed and the house will be one step closer to being ours. of course, my sister wants us to move as soon as we can. that made me laugh. she should know after her 37 years in this family, we are a bunch of fucking procrastinators. if we're all moved in by Spring, i'll be fucking shocked.

sadly, they hadn't picked up all the trash by the time we got home from the inspection. so, i had to go back out into this shit to get that. that is certainly one thing i will not miss about this place. taking the trash down 1/4 mile lane in the winter fucking blows.

the Bengals whipped the Saints yesterday, 27-10. i'm still at a loss for words at how badly the Saints played yesterday. first time they have lost 2 games in a row at home in 5 years. i have no clue what they are going to do for the rest of the season. so much for them being my guaranteed win yesterday.

my one fantasy team, favored by 18 points is currently losing by 23 points. i have quit giving a shit about that team as they have been eliminated from having any chance to make the playoffs. but, my other team is currently winning by 60 points going into the game tonight. that team is in first place and i am certainly hoping to make another deep playoff run.

the shows last night were great. The Newsroom was awesome. i love the pace of that show. Homeland had me on the edge of my seat last night. there was almost a holy fucking shit moment. The Affair peeled another layer off the onion last night. i'm certainly interested to seeing where it goes next week.

tonight is a huge clusterfuck on television for me. first off, the New York Rangers play at home against Tampa Bay. that marks the first time 3 ex-Rangers will be back at MSG. that includes the former captain and one of my favorite all-time Rangers, Ryan Callahan. so, it should be a crazy, emotional night. hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory beer by the end of it.

also tonight, all at the same time mind you, i'll be trying to watch The Voice, Gotham, and Monday Night Raw. i do have a player playing tonight in the football game, but i'll follow that online. i suppose i'll watch most of Gotham and use YouTube to help me with the other two.

all i know is i'm going to spend most of tonight working on getting the pain out of my back. so it's going to be some ice and probably some Jameson Irish Whiskey. that should get the job done.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i know that team USA takes on Ireland in another soccer friendly. maybe i'll get on after that one. of course, if it's a long morning (it's supposed to get down to the single digits tonight) i might be typing to stay warm in the morning. that's another thing i won't miss. living in an old house in the winter is not fun. as much as i love looking at the trees in the snow, having to add a third blanket to the bed in hopes to stay warm is nuts. that shouldn't be a problem in the new house. of course, the furnace is the oldest thing there, so i'm sure we'll be replacing that within the first five years there. everything else is relatively new (5 years old or less).

hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

frustration unleashes the demons... again

this morning has been something close to a clusterfuck for me. we had the chili i made for dinner last night, so you can imagine where i have spent most of the morning. and then between bending over to clean out a litter box and lifting over 100 lbs. of trash and recyclables, i think most of this afternoon will be with ice on my back. just fucking lovely.

Ohio State beat Minnesota yesterday 31-24. it wouldn't have been that close if Ohio State wouldn't of had 3 turnovers. that should be their last tough game until the Big 10 Championship game.

the New York Rangers lost in a shootout last night 3-2. i didn't have a problem with the NHL getting the call right on Dan Boyle's shootout goal that wasn't. i did have a problem with how long it took them to figure it out. i did have a problem with Cindy Crosby whining and complaining to the refs ALL game long. if he ever wonders why no players in the league respect him, all he has to do is watch last night's game again. and how in the fuck does Malkin get to charge Girardi and he basically gets nothing for it. oh, that's right, everyone who works for the league is a bunch of ex-Rangers that hated their time in New York. i have to remind myself that from time to time when every fucking call goes against the Rangers. at least they got a point out of the game.

Saturday Night Live was really good last night.

ROH was great last night. the match between ACH and Jay Lethal was awesome.

today, the New Orleans Saints play the Bengals. hopefully, i'm drinking a victory beer around 4:30 this afternoon. the Saints are my guaranteed win of the week, so i really hope they win.

tonight will be the usual Sunday night shows; The Newsroom, Homeland, and The Affair. all 3 episodes look to be good.

i'll watch those and probably some of the Sunday night NFL game as well.

i still have to enter my fantasy teams into my DIRECTV receiver, so i'm a bit pissy this morning. i've only been trying for the last 3 hours.

both of my fantasy teams are favored to win this week. i doubt that happens.

and to top off everything today, we are under a Winter Weather Advisory. it's supposed to start really snowing tonight and won't stop until tomorrow afternoon. they are saying maybe 4 inches or more. and of course, mom and i have to be over at the new home for the house inspection tomorrow morning.

these are the days where i wish i had a needle and a gun.

hopefully your Saturday and Sunday are going much better than mine. and if they are not, drink a cold one and go piss on your neighbor's porch.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

change or at least the possibility of it happening

so, i went to check out the house yesterday with my sister and mother. of course, within 2 minutes of getting these my uncle was out on his scooter (for the elderly, not hipsters) to talk to us. the realtor was running late. once she got there, we went inside. the outside looked nice and looks pretty easy to maintain. the inside was pretty nice as well. a ton of storage which would be good for all the shit we have. what would be my bedroom is a good size. not sure about the bathrooms, but that would be an issue for a later date. after talking to my mother and sister, my sister decided to make an offer for the house. we should find out tomorrow if we're getting it or not. while i'm not thrilled with living next to family, it certainly will make the poetry interesting. and any writer will tell you interesting is never a bad thing.

after that, i came back home to watch the New Orleans Saints lose a heart breaker in OT, 27-24. the loss drops them back under .500. of course, having been a fan of this team on and off since the 1980's, i'm sort of numb to these types of losses. making the playoffs will be that much harder now.

the New York Rangers played like shit last night, except for the goalie who did his best to keep them in a game they had no interest in playing. a 3-1 loss to Edmonton when you get outplayed for 60 minutes is fucking unacceptable. they made some minor roster moves this evening, but i doubt they will be much help with the Penguins coming up tomorrow.

one of my fantasy football teams comes into tonight down by 67 points. needless to say, i don't think i have a fucking chance in that one. as for the other one, i'm up by 3 points and still have 3 players to go tonight. i feel good about that one.

the Sunday night shows were excellent last night. The Newsroom was fucking great. i love how well written the show is week after week. Last Week Tonight was hilarious as always. Homeland was a mind fuck last night. The Affair peeled a little more of the onion last night and the ending definitely set my mind racing where the show goes next.

as for tonight, a bit of a clusterfuck, but not too bad. i have no plans on watching the football game. and Monday Night Raw is over in England, so there's a good chance i will simply find out what happens and then only watch what the live reports said were good. so, that leaves me bouncing between Gotham and the first live shows for this season of The Voice. i should be able to manage that pretty good.

i've got to get the farm ready for the winter blast coming our way in a few days. mostly closing up barns and taking account of what is broken. i'm going to be interested to see how the cats handle a few days in a row of it being cold. i don't think some of the young ones are cut out for it.

i got some great music on NoiseTrade today. if you are a fan of Springsteen or Tom Waits, you'll definitely want to check out this FREE music. the link will be below.

that's pretty much all for me. i think i may try to do some writing tonight. i've got a few words swimming up in my head. i do hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a lost weekend

before i get into the misery of the Yankees and my fantasy football teams, here is the link to the Facebook post i talked about the other day.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Svensk-Apache/517054495042402

scroll down a bit and you will find my poem "smoke in peace" and the illustration that goes with it.

i'm running on about 3 hours of sleep, so i'm going to make this quick.

the Yankees got swept. 3 games out of the wildcard. i'm resigned that any wins for the rest of the season will be basically to put another team in the playoffs.

unless A.J. Green has the best night a WR has ever had tonight, i'm going to lose both of my fantasy football games. not happy. fucking injuries.

i didn't watch a second of Big Brother last night.

Boardwalk Empire was brilliant, as always.

The Newsroom caught me by surprise. i did not expect a happy ending. good stuff.

Total Divas was pretty funny, for all the wrong reasons. i did like the preview for the shows in November.

Ray Donovan hit pretty damn close to home. being sexually molested as a child, i understand a little too well the urge to kill and seek revenge, etc. should be an interesting season finale next week.

i might catch a few minutes of the New York Rangers first pre-season game tonight. i do plan on watching Monday Night Raw. i'm happy that Daniel Bryan is the champ again. not sure how long the assholes will leave the title on him. was hoping that CM Punk would be done with the Heyman angle after last night. sadly, he now has to deal with making the fans believe that Ryback can actually wrestle. the words glutton for punishment comes to mind.

i need a shower, a nap, some food, surgery for my bad back, some sunshine and a vehicle that doesn't struggle to get up to 25 m.p.h.

maybe tomorrow i won't be as cranky. i suppose that all depends on what Manchester United does.

be well.

little bursts of energy

allow me to pick back up the strange saga of my life somewhere around the Yankees letting me down yet again.

i have to admit, i might have watched 5 minutes of the Yankees game yesterday. another loss, 5-1. hard to win when you only get 3 damn hits. 3 games out now of a playoff spot. they play tonight on ESPN. i have no clue if i'll choose the game over what i normally watch on Sunday nights.

watched some really great games yesterday. between Barcelona and Real Madrid in soccer and a crazy game between Alabama and Texas A&M, it was a pretty damn entertaining afternoon.

then Ohio State came out like a team i hadn't seen before. 21-0 in the first 5 minutes. they went on to win 52-34, racking up some insane offensive numbers for them. of course, the defense gave up way too much. but, another victory beer i enjoyed.

after that game got over, i sat down to write the 4 poems i needed to write for the artist in Sweden. 15 minutes later i'm emailing them to him. i wake up this morning to the news that he loves them. i believe he might be posting one of them on Facebook or something. if i get a link to it i'll pass it along. i really think we're doing some amazing work together. hopefully the world gets to see it one day.

ROH last night was excellent. always a pleasure any time i get to watch Kevin Steen wrestle. it always reminds me of what i probably would be like if i had went that route in my life.

another long day of the NFL in front of me today. my fantasy teams are in order. i'm favored in both games, so the realist in me knows that something is bound to go wrong.

the usual batch of Sunday night shows on tap. not sure how much of Big Brother i will watch. i pretty much know what's going to happen. Boardwalk Empire is always great. season finale for The Newsroom i believe is tonight. i'm expecting a cliffhanger. Total Divas has their mid-season finale tonight. and there is always Ray Donovan as well. how i fit these shows around the Sunday night football game will be interesting. sounds like someone is going to have to sneak in a few naps today.

alrighty, enough babbling. i have breakfast to eat, cats to feed, trash to pick up and 2 injured players to go worry about. fun.

hope everyone has a great day and a great end to your weekend.

i guess the summer heat wants another victim

i went out to get the mail today and was like holy fuck. it had to be damn near 90 at noon. totally was not expecting that. of course, when you spend all weekend watching sports and no news, these types of things are a surprise.

the Yankees won yesterday. i cheated and flipped over a few times during a rare blah moment on the Red Zone channel. when i saw they were bringing in Mo to get 6 outs, i just shook my head. the lack of great pitching right now is what is really killing this team. and then i flipped over right after the Yankees scored the winning run in the bottom of the 9th. i believe it was the first time they had won on a wild pitch since 1977.  a big 4-3 win to avoid the sweep. they play tonight in Baltimore. i imagine i will flip over during commercials. just about all of the games for the rest of the season are MUST WIN games.

i did pretty good in fantasy football yesterday. in one league i am up by 33 points. i have 2 guys going tonight and my opponent has 4. if i hold on to that lead, i will be surprised. in the other league i am trailing by 10 points. but i have 3 players going tonight and my opponent is done. i feel pretty confident that i will win that one.

my mom is happy her Jets won while i do hope my sister is getting ready for a long year for her Steelers.

as for the Sunday night shows, i did not watch one second of Big Brother. i did watch the women's tennis final that pushed everything back nearly 50 minutes or so. i never get bored of watching Serena Williams in tight clothing.

Boardwalk Empire was great last night. i have always liked the show. i'm a bit of a history whore.

The Newsroom was awesome as usual. i always wonder how close the chaos really is to the reality of a newsroom on election night. it should be a great season finale next week with how this episode set it up.

Ray Donovan was interesting. a nice little twist that i didn't see coming. the kid being left on the bed was classic. i'm not really sure where the final 2 episodes are going.

Total Divas was the unintentionally funny train wreck that it normally is. after watching these many episodes i truly know that i have been watching wrestling too long to actually "buy" any of this. though, the health stuff truly interests me as the WWE has done a great job in the last few years of letting the fans into the "real" injuries that do happen.

tonight should be an interesting one for me. 2 football games, Monday Night Raw, some baseball and god knows what else all on at the same time. lets just say after my shower here in a bit, i guess i'll be spending the rest of the night in my easy chair.

lastly, i did manage to break out some poetry today. this morning i went through some unpublished poems. this afternoon, i sent 11 out. 3 each to Dead Snakes and The Camel Saloon and 5 to Regardless Of Authority. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

that is all. i need to go get the vacuum and get some cleaning done before i shower. hope this finds everyone well.

not enough time to even think

with the NFL season back in swing now, i'm going to have a harsh reminder of what the Sunday grind truly is. all the games during the day, all the shows i love at night, hardly any time to think or take a piss between them.

both my fantasy teams are in order. i'm trailing in both games. i wouldn't be shocked if i lost both. fun.

back to yesterday... Ohio State was a little more effective. of course, they lost their starting QB 7 plays into the game. hopefully it's nothing major. they said he could have come back in if it was needed. well, it was needed for my fantasy team, but not for the game. 42-7 win.

thank god, the Yankees game wasn't available to me at all yesterday. when i saw the final score, 13-9, i never bothered to find the highlights. another loss, another injury, further weakening their chance of making the playoffs. the offense is scoring but the pitching has turned into shit. there is 0% chance i will watch the game today.

ROH last night was pretty good. finally saw the pile driver that Bennett put on Whitmer. holy shit, no wonder the match was stopped.

saw some pretty good college football games last night and in the haze of lack of sleep, i checked out some NASCAR as well. i had a good laugh with Jeff Gordon missing the chase by 1 point. good times.

after all of the football games today, my usual Sunday night fare plus the return of Boardwalk Empire. so, between that at 9, The Newsroom at 10, Ray Donovan at 11, and Total Divas at midnight, i guess i'll see the first half hour of the Sunday night football game. or maybe not with Big Brother on at 8. totally could use a damn DVR tonight, that's for sure.

that's all for today. i have trash to pick up, animals to feed, injuries to check on and find some time to eat breakfast as well.

AND wish my sister a happy birthday. i would say her age but i'm certain that might ensure my death. she's 36.

i am spent

first off, this blog today is brought to you by DJ Swykert. check out all of his books at: http://magicmasterminds.com/djswykert/. he's currently looking for people to write reviews for his books. if you are interested, contact him.

just got done watching the Manchester United goalless draw against Chelsea. United was the better team, as the special one decided to play without a striker to give the false belief of how badly they need Wayne Rooney. and speaking of Wazza, he played awesome today.if the ref would have been smart enough to make the right call on the obvious handball by Chelsea in the box, i have no doubt that United would have won the game. but, 1 point is better than none. next up is Liverpool on Sunday.

the Yankees won a game they had to yesterday, in extra innings, 3-2. much better than getting swept. up to Toronto tonight for hopefully another sweep of the Blue Jays. Derek Jeter makes yet another return to the lineup tonight. god willing, he won't get injured again this season.

i did watch most of the VMA's last night. i felt good that i knew basically 90% of the people there, at least the names. as for the performances, none of them were really my cup of tea. i did enjoy most of them though for what they were; mindless music with hey, look at me, performances. i was very happy for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. i absolutely love that album.

The Newsroom was excellent once again. can't wait to see what happens in 2 weeks. Ray Donovan was too short but the killing at the end was a twist i didn't see coming until it happened. should be an interesting road for the show now. Total Divas made me laugh for all the wrong reasons. i suppose i really know too much of the inside shit of the world of pro wrestling to be able to take this show for what it is.

i love the dumb asses that only watch the CBS portion of Big Brother and think they are going to see someone big leave the house on Thursday. such fools.

i'm looking forward to Monday Night Raw this evening. i figure i'll flip between that and the Yankees game for most of the evening.

a big thank you to Janne Karlsson for the cartoons this morning. i will probably post another one this Friday.

the humidity is making another comeback. incredibly shitty sleeping weather. so, i figure until the storm comes through, i'll be dealing with insomnia. lovely.

that's all for today.

who needs sleep

for some reason i was up until 4 this morning. i would think nothing of it, but for some damn reason i was back up at 7. this should be an interesting day to see how long i last on 3 hours of sleep.

while i was up late listening to podcasts, i did go through the unpublished poems. i found 11 that i passed on to the artist in Sweden. i'm very interested to see if he comes up with anything for them. they might have a life after all.

the Yankees got some decent pitching from CC last night. but decent doesn't cut it in the dog days of a baseball season. another loss 4-2. hopefully they can salvage a game in this series later today.

ROH was good last night. sadly, i know the outcome of most of the heavyweight title tournament already, but i still will try to enjoy the matches. i'm sure i will, just to see how they got to the end.

this evening will be interesting. i'm debating if i am still "cool" enough to watch the MTV Video Music Awards or not. if i do watch them, it's going to be bits and pieces. i figure my television viewing will look like this; Big Brother, MTV, The Newsroom, Ray Donovan, Total Divas, and then if i'm still coherent, the rebroadcast of the VMA's. if i do all of that, you can rest assured i will be napping this afternoon at some point.

still only saw 5 cats this morning when i fed them. but, it wasn't the same 5 from yesterday, so i'm thinking they are all still here, just scattered about because of the heat and whatnot.

got the trash out and the paper wasn't stolen this morning. so, i guess things are looking up.

i'll pass along word if the artist in Sweden comes up with any magic from my trash.

also, i'm not really pissed with my fantasy football draft results. not nearly as bad as i feared. i've got some guys i've won with before and, as long as my 2 QB's don't have the dreaded sophomore jinx, i should do pretty good this year. of course, injuries and my ability to capitalize on the mistakes of others will truly decide if i win a 3rd straight championship or not.

hope everyone has a great day.

just another Monday

let me peel back the onion a bit and give you a glimpse into my day. i'm out feeding the cats and i suddenly have the need to shit. do i go in the kitty litter? do i hold it and get back inside? i'm not an animal, so i made it back inside. and after a huge movement, just as i'm getting up from the bowl, i sneeze. and the sure force of the sneeze produces more shit falling right out of me. do you laugh? do you wonder how you can make this a poem? both? if you chose C, you are correct. why am i still single?

i did catch bits and pieces of the Yankees game last night. i'd like to thank those dumb asses in Boston for hitting A-Rod and waking up his teammates. hopefully this is the light bulb for the rest of the season. 9-6 win after being down 6-3 before A-Rod's response to getting hit. off today and then a doubleheader tomorrow. i'd love to sweep that doubleheader, but Phil Hughes is starting one of those games. my fingers are crossed for a split.

the shows last night were excellent. The Newsroom was brilliant. i can't wait to see what happens in the next episode. Ray Donovan was really good as well. Total Divas was probably the funniest episode of the season so far.

i did see the results of Summerslam last night. i'm a little disappointed but not dismayed. if the payoff to what happened last night is more CM Punk A+ matches and a huge feud between Orton, HHH, and Daniel Bryan... i'm all for it. i will definitely be tuned in to Monday Night Raw tonight to see what happens next.

i got 3 more cartoons and another illustration i need to write a poem for from my artist friend in Sweden today. i'm holding off on putting out the 3 cartoons until i hear back from the publisher i've contacted. i'd love for a book to come out with a ton of material that no one has seen before.

i did watch a little bit of Manchester City this afternoon. once their opponent got down to 10 men, i didn't bother to watch anymore. i hate to say it, but they looked good.

that's pretty much all for today... until tomorrow.

death on a sunny day

so i was watching the UFC on Fox Spots 1 last night. the windows were open and it was a pretty comfortable night. then, the coyotes started howling. about 5 minutes later i smell a skunk. i figure these 2 events are connected. so, i had to shut up the house. not happy. fast forward to this afternoon. we had some family over so they could shoot their guns and they said there was a dead cat out by where they were. i go out to investigate and sure enough. it looks like my cat Rita Dove was ripped to fucking pieces last night. at least i believe it was her as there was hardly anything left. hopefully her kittens are old enough to fend for themselves now.

speaking of the UFC last night, it was excellent. a really entertaining card that really brought it. i thought the cherry on the night was the post match interview with Chael Sonnen.

i laughed when i watched the "highlights" from the Yankees game yesterday. figures. i start to praise them and they go out and shit the bed. 6-1 loss. they go for another series win this evening on ESPN. i might watch some of it, don't know yet.

my usual Sunday night watching is scheduled for this evening. Big Brother, The Newsroom, Ray Donovan, and Total Divas. plus, i hope to find the results of Summerslam and not miss anything. i'm really tempted to order it, but unfortunately, i'm not made of money.

spent most of today watching soccer from England and Spain. i watched Barcelona and laughed. i told my mother, if anyone doesn't like or understand the game, stick them in front of a television and watch Messi and company play. if you don't enjoy that, please stop watching all sports.

my stomach issues came back with a vengeance this morning. thankfully i feel better now. not sure what triggered it. i figure i fucked up somehow in a previous life.

that's all for today. hope this finds everyone a bit tipsy.

how a skunk can ruin life in general

was watching Duck Dynasty last night, laughing my ass of like usual, when i looked over to my mother and asked her if she smelled a skunk. she said yes and went to turn on the outside lights. sure enough, as i'm looking out the bay window, there is a skunk sniffing around the room one of the cats stays in. needless to say, that fucking smell lasted for the rest of the night. it doesn't bother me at all, i suppose because i have lived out here since 1997. as for my mother, she usually gags anytime she smells it. good fun.

i enjoyed most of the Sunday night shows. Big Brother was more of a catch up for me as i missed the show on Thursday. The Newsroom was excellent once again. i think it probably does a better job than most people believe about showing the inner workings of the behind the scenes aspects of a news show. Ray Donovan was great. anytime you can add James Woods to a cast, the show is going to be better. as for Total Divas, maybe i was tired or maybe the show just sucked, but i wasn't feeling it. i did enjoy the in ring conversation near the end of the show, as for the other 55 minutes, blah blah blah. a waste.

the Yankees start up a series with the Angels tonight. i would love to see a sweep or take 3 out of 4. they definitely need to win the series to have any chance of making the playoffs this season. i'll start off with that tonight.

but most of the evening will be spent on Monday Night Raw. given that it's the last live show before the upcoming PPV, i expect 3 hours of goodness. and considering CM Punk is going to be featured tonight, i should be happy.

i got some more illustrations from the artist in Sweden this morning. looks like i have 14 poems to come up with in the next week or so. i guess he took me at my word when i said i don't mind a challenge. so, if you don't see me much this week, you'll know where i am. writing and sending out feelers to publishers.

and, if you happen to understand my creative process, this music list below will explain most things.

hope this finds everyone drunk and stupid.
