always fun when you wake up in pain at 5 in the morning

i figured there was rain in the area when i woke up this morning at 5 in pain and needing to piss. and just my luck, there was no chance to fall back asleep as the words started belting me like protesters. i wrote out 2 poems that i typed up later in the morning. i like both of them. i'll probably get another round of submissions ready here soon. i'll squeeze those in between fantasy football and god knows what else.

that rain has been nothing more than some drizzle but that doesn't do shit for the pain. i think there's a cold front that still needs to come through. good times.

yesterday was a shitty sports day. the New York Yankees completely wasted a great outing from Tanaka, losing 2-1. and of course, Toronto won so the lead is back to 1 1/2 games. hopefully the Yankees win tonight, though CC is pitching so i know i'm hoping for ice water in hell.

team USA got their asses handed to them by Brazil last night. as soon as i saw who the USA was starting at center backs on the defense, i knew they were in trouble. sure enough, they lost 4-1. and honestly, the game never felt that close. i don't think the coach knows who the fuck he's going to play in that playoff game against Mexico in October. and that is a MUST win game.

Total Divas was the usual crazy bullshit last night, though this scene did make me smile:

Hard Knocks was excellent last night. i really enjoyed the bloopers at the end. i doubt the Texans will make the playoffs this year, but i think they will be better than some people think.

i was a little surprised that Stephen Colbert was more like his Comedy Central persona than i thought he was going to be last night. but, other than the Jeb Bush interview, i enjoyed the show.

kids, listen to some music:

now some of this and that:

i made my NFL picks for Week 1 today. in case anyone is interested, Green Bay is my lock this week.

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother and one of my favorite shows from last year is finally back, You're The Worst. i will be watching NXT on the WWE Network tonight.

just saw a message where there's supposed to be thunderstorms in the area tonight. figures.

i hope this finds everyone naked and slightly drunk. or maybe thinking of emailing me something naughty. (that really is just for my new friend on Google+ in case she happens to read this)

one crisis averted

our water problems here on the farm are over (knock on wood). turns out it wasn't the well that was fucked up, it was our holding tank. the bladder inside of it had ruptured. thankfully, the guys at Complete Plumbing got it fixed and did it in a timely manner. they finished up just about as i was getting done with mowing the grass. i really appreciate that, as i desperately needed a shower after mowing weeds for 4 hours. i really recommend that company if you have any plumbing problems. they are really good people and do really good work, 24/7.

thankfully, the weather really helped me yesterday while mowing. it was a little cloudy, a bit of a breeze, and no humidity. that made it really easy to get it done quickly. the backyard looks completely different.

i was a bit skeptical when i saw U2 released their new album today for FREE on iTunes. of course, i downloaded it. it's actually not bad. 4 of the songs i would say are really damn good. now, i don't know if they are going to go into the all-time best from the band, only time will tell that. but i definitely think it is worth a listen.

Monday Night Raw last night was excellent. i could have done without the Jerry Springer shit, but to see Y2J go off from the top of the cage last night was one of those truly HOLY SHIT moments. and then to see Seth Rollins do it as well 3 hours later... that was great. if John Cena ever had the guts to go heel, i would actually like to see him with Paul Heyman. that could be one of those odd pairings that actually could work. of course it will never happen...

the Yankees play tonight. i'm not yet sure if i'm going to bother to watch. although, i will drink if they win.

Big Brother is on tonight as well. of course, due to the new gimmick in the show, nothing that happens tonight means anything. of course, the house guests don't know that.

other than that stuff tonight, i suppose i'll be flipping around the channels. would be a good night to get some sleep i suppose.

i lost both of my fantasy football matches yesterday. not exactly how i wanted to start the season. i've put in some waiver claims to hopefully have a better week 2. i did go 11-5 in picking games, so that's not bad.

while i should have been doing my laundry, i watched some EURO 2016 qualifying today and the USA basketball game. we're supposed to get some nasty storms tomorrow, so i guess laundry is going to have to wait for now. i'm still good on underwear, so... (try getting that visual out of your mind)

hopefully the storms hold off long enough for me to get some poems out tomorrow. i have 30 ready to go. that should be a good start to the month.

that's all for me today. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

i guess the summer heat wants another victim

i went out to get the mail today and was like holy fuck. it had to be damn near 90 at noon. totally was not expecting that. of course, when you spend all weekend watching sports and no news, these types of things are a surprise.

the Yankees won yesterday. i cheated and flipped over a few times during a rare blah moment on the Red Zone channel. when i saw they were bringing in Mo to get 6 outs, i just shook my head. the lack of great pitching right now is what is really killing this team. and then i flipped over right after the Yankees scored the winning run in the bottom of the 9th. i believe it was the first time they had won on a wild pitch since 1977.  a big 4-3 win to avoid the sweep. they play tonight in Baltimore. i imagine i will flip over during commercials. just about all of the games for the rest of the season are MUST WIN games.

i did pretty good in fantasy football yesterday. in one league i am up by 33 points. i have 2 guys going tonight and my opponent has 4. if i hold on to that lead, i will be surprised. in the other league i am trailing by 10 points. but i have 3 players going tonight and my opponent is done. i feel pretty confident that i will win that one.

my mom is happy her Jets won while i do hope my sister is getting ready for a long year for her Steelers.

as for the Sunday night shows, i did not watch one second of Big Brother. i did watch the women's tennis final that pushed everything back nearly 50 minutes or so. i never get bored of watching Serena Williams in tight clothing.

Boardwalk Empire was great last night. i have always liked the show. i'm a bit of a history whore.

The Newsroom was awesome as usual. i always wonder how close the chaos really is to the reality of a newsroom on election night. it should be a great season finale next week with how this episode set it up.

Ray Donovan was interesting. a nice little twist that i didn't see coming. the kid being left on the bed was classic. i'm not really sure where the final 2 episodes are going.

Total Divas was the unintentionally funny train wreck that it normally is. after watching these many episodes i truly know that i have been watching wrestling too long to actually "buy" any of this. though, the health stuff truly interests me as the WWE has done a great job in the last few years of letting the fans into the "real" injuries that do happen.

tonight should be an interesting one for me. 2 football games, Monday Night Raw, some baseball and god knows what else all on at the same time. lets just say after my shower here in a bit, i guess i'll be spending the rest of the night in my easy chair.

lastly, i did manage to break out some poetry today. this morning i went through some unpublished poems. this afternoon, i sent 11 out. 3 each to Dead Snakes and The Camel Saloon and 5 to Regardless Of Authority. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

that is all. i need to go get the vacuum and get some cleaning done before i shower. hope this finds everyone well.
